You get what you pay for. A big or two in the room. Birds have nested in the upper portion of the building, and there might not be much they can do about that, but you have to navigate past birds swooping past you and bird doo doo on the stairs, etc. the staff was friendly and addressed all of my questions. Internet signal was strong.

If you need somewhere to crash that has air conditioning and a shower then this will do you right. If you’re looking for a usb port to charge your phone, extra outlets, clean floors, and anything special then this is not for you. Staff was nice and overall experience fit the price point. I got exactly what I expected and have no complaints.

The check-in process was smooth, quick, and the front counter guy was really nice! That is the best compliment I can give. The room was filthy; cobwebs on walls and baseboards, suspicious splatters on the walls and doors, holes in the blanket, and hair in the tub (I did not shower!). There was a microwave and mini fridge. I did not use the microwave, but it and the fridge were decent and clean. The heat kind of worked but was missing a front component and was filthy! I will not be returning.

There was ample parking. The building is very old and can use some work. Staff was friendly. I was in a room with a fridge and microwave but had no coffee maker or cups that would go in the microwave. No table, just the desk under the TV. Definitely bare minimum.

upon arriving to Motel 6, we felt very uncomfortable due to the fact the customers or residents of this place we're sitting outside on the ground smoking marijuana. The smell was uninviting, as we entered the hotel room, it was a strong smell of dampness placing my asthma into flare. We we're very disappointed with this place to stay, so we made the decision go to another hotel to feel safe and comfortable. We are requesting a refund for a misleading place to stay.

It is obvious that they spend nearly nothing on this place. I’ve never seen any main entrance look this bad . Felt like this place would be in some movie in the middle of Mexico. I am not exaggerating in the least. Rooms were the same except they did have a newer “cheap” lvp flooring , poorly installed. Beds were ok. Ac worked good but was off when we got there at 7. Had to leave for a few hours to get it to cool down . I would suggest any one of the 3 other hotels over this one unless you’re just desperate. Hope they read this , don’t take it personally, and improve their facilities.

A Good night’s rest.

I have stayed at this hotel many times. It’s family owned. If you are looking for luxury, this is not it. However, you will get a good night’s rest and a clean bed. Any problems you may have with the room are quickly addressed. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The place is somewhat clean. They have a bunch of weird people running around there all the time. And I see the man they had cleaning rooms not changeing sheets of a room that the bed was Slept in the night before and just remade the bed. There's a lot more but overall it's not a place I would go to again. Guess when you pay cheap u get cheap.

Room was not clean at all. AC unit was missing the cover and covered in dust/dirt. Sheet had hardened “fluids” most likely from sex. Had a very awful smell as if someone had smoked in the room. (Was a no smoking room). Needless to say we did not stay and I got a room up the street.

Room 120 near the office is filthy, filthy, filthy.
The baseboards are coated with grime, mop-slop
and hair, and floor is dirty. Tub is dirty. Bed passed inspection, but just barely. No Woman would ever stay there. High rotation room needs a good scrubbing and a paint job. Yuck !

It was quick. Just stayed about 8 hours. Needed to get the dog to the groomer before noon and still had 2.5 hours of driving to go. The clerk was on his first night. I did have to explain to him I had already paid. He was a little nervous, but nice.

Traveling with 2 dogs there are not many affordable places to stay. Check-in was brief, room was clean, no security concerns. Room was basic and was what I expected. This hotel was cleaner than other rooms booked at this hotel chain on prior cross country trips.

This place is falling apart. No safety chain for door on one room. Just hanging off door on the other. Bathroom was gross with black mold. Bathroom door wouldn’t even shut. One of the worst rooms I have ever had. Stay elsewhere!

Good for a night stop after a long drive

This was good for what we needed it for, a cheap place to spend a few hours to sleep after a long day of driving. It’s outdated and a little musky. Our room had clearly been sprayed for bugs recently as there were dead flys laying around the floor of the room. (I would rather dead flys than alive bugs I guess) overall the beds were okay and it felt safe. I wouldn’t stay there for anything more than a place to rest after driving. Definitely not a destination hotel

A quick stop, not a vacay

This was a quick stop on a cross country drive for two people and was good enough for that. It is right next to a truck stop that was busy and loud but the front desk was kind enough to give us a room on the opposite side which was less noisy. There were some creepers lurking around the area.

The smoke detectors were covered in plastic bags and it was obvious there had been some smoking in there. It wasn’t the best maintained but it wasn’t dirty or gross - I wouldn’t call it a dive but I don’t think it’s meant for children or families. It worked for one nights stay.

Doors wouldnt lock, and when we expressed our concern, the owner said theyd refund us our money and immediately made our family including children leave at 11pm with no other help on another place to stay. Bugs, stench everywhere, and i wont actually see any sort of \"refund\" if any, for at least 2 weeks. Nearly every single thing in these rooms was broken- the windows, door locks, beds, air conditioner, EVEN THE TOILET was broken. Nearly everything was completely uninhabitable, and i never got any sort of guarantee that I was going to be refunded- no communication, no receipt, just \"yall need to leave right now.\" Even the manager said that they had gotten several complaints that the pictures and discription on every platform they advertise from is of another Motel 6- and it is.

If I had called the motel direct I would have saved myself a lot more

Sleeping At The Motel 6..

This hotel is family owed. And it is quiet, clean, and right off hwy 24 at the Kentucky, Illinois State Line. I have stayed here many times while visiting my son in Southgate Rehabilitation. The family is kind and welcoming. If you are looking for frills, bells, and whistles, this is not the place. If you want a good nite sleep, at a reasonable price, this is it.

A Superman of a stay.

This Motel 6 was great for the price. It was a very comfortable, quiet stay. The staff was excellent and kind. Now this is budget so don't look for fancy amenities. However, it is well kept and clean for the price. It is convenient, right off Hwy 24 and across the bridge from Paducah, Ky where this are restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. In Metropolis, there’s Harrah’s Casino and Superman memorabilia. After all, it is Metropolis. I enjoyed staying at this motel and would most definitely stay here again.

No furniture in the room except 1 bed and 1 chair. The upkeep of the place was horrible. The front desk clerk at time of check in was not very informative of what was around. The walls were paper thin so I heard both sets of my neighbors. Nothing about this stay made me comfortable and wasn't worth what I spent on the room. Never again will I stay at this hotel.

It was relatively clean. The bathroom could use a cleaning including the walls, floors, tub and ceiling. But it was okay just to take a quick shower in if you had to. Friendly staff, quiet area, about 3-5 minute drive to anything in Metropolis. Overall it was a good stay, but they shouldn’t have raised the prices so high because of the solar eclipse. $209 for one night.

I also left an item and the manager was so helpful in locating it and communicating next steps for him to mail it back to me! Really helpful and kind.

Check in person was very nice and efficient. The room was beyond filthy. I was given a bottle of cleaner and I used a rag to clean all surfaces in the room. It went from white to dark 3x. Sheets and blankets had blood and stains on them. Bathroom had hairs on floor. We had hot water but no cold water. The only place worse than this was a hotel in DC that had been flooded and there was condensation on the walls.

We stayed for eclipse. $260 is Hilton prices. This is not worth that price. Brown stains on walls like someone wiped. Hairs on my pillow and phone like nothing was cleaned. Dirty floors. It was a nonsmoking room yet my comforter had 8 cigarette burn holes. Bed was old box springs, hard and uncomfortable. Was a rip off for a 1 star motel.

The bath room tile behind the door looks like it has never been cleaned.

Appears that they scream the floor with the door open and never clean behind the door.

The commode was loose and the lid to the tank did not fit properly.

The room had a terrible smell and the mattress had lumps in it.

I think that Blackstone may have wasted its money on the purchase of Motel 6.

A big plus: during my stay, the door lock failed when housekeeping attempted to clean. Staff moved all my stuff to another room (with consent). I've stayed at this property multiple times in the last 5 months due to travel for grad school. Cleanliness of some rooms is ??
Some non-smoking rooms have obviously been smoked in. Some deep cleaning is needed. Some of the more-frequently rented rooms need attention. Some bed spreads have burn holes. Sheets ARE clean. Staff is nice. Large, unfenced, area to run my dogs was what kept me going back.

Property seems to have been recently renovated; Floors, fixtures, paint. The only thing I would recommend they do is maintain the heating/cooling unit. Ive stayed here twice the first time the filter was loaded with dust so a washes and dried it in the tub 2nd stay I checked and no filter there so the inside was completely packed with dust an 1in thick.

Other then that the staff that I have interacted with our friendly and helpful.
