Since management was about to sell the property and cancelled people’s reservations at the last minute, it was a very depressing place to stay. Services were cut as a consequence and staff could have cared less about the guests.I was relieved when checkout time came.

We were told Breakfast is included but in my 13 days stay I just had 1 breakfast. It was a kind of trick. Our tour starts 5:30 AM and the hotel starts serving breakfast at 7AM.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful with transportation questions. The Abraham is very close to bus and tram transportation. And the free map provided at the front desk was very informative. The continental breakfast had a variety of food. Laundry facilities were clean, and the machines worked well. If we come to Jerusalem again we will stay at the Abraham.

Great Place to Stay in Jerusalem

We had a wonderful stay at Abraham Hostel. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The common areas, rooftop, and room were clean and decorated nicely. The beds in the room were comfortable and the area is quiet at night. The breakfast in the morning includes a variety of everything from salads, fruits, bread, cheeses, eggs, and much more. The location was great, near the market and close to the Old City. Highly recommend staying here.

Didn't realize it was a hostel, mostly used by young adults and back packers. Nevertheless, it was fine and comfortable for the family of 4 for the duration of our stay. Room and bathroom was slightly small but it was ok. Rooms were clean, Tourists may need to come prepared with their own travel size toiletteries if they are choosing to stay here like soap and shampoo.

Fantastic Jerusalem experience!

I had a really good time at Abraham Hostel Jerusalem. The bed was comfortable, the appliances worked well, and people at the front desk and tour office were beyond helpful. The overall atmosphere was really fun and welcoming.

I would definitely go back, and I would encourage others to stay there. The hostel is right in the city center so it’s a great location, and the Mahane Yehuda Market, which is great at all hours of the day, is less than five minutes walking distance. Overall one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in!

Booked a double room and was a good value for money. Decently spacious and breakfast was included. But the facility and amenities are hostel quality so don’t expect all inclusive type of hotel. The hot water for example needed to be pre heated and it was a bit of pain when we wanted to shower straight. The room cleaning wasn’t through either.

Still Abraham Hostel exceeded our expectation by providing all convenience necessary for travelers. Especially their tours and events were fantastic!! We joined their tours to West Bank and the Old City of Jerusalem. Both had veteran guides with such extensive knowledge and gave me new perspectives and insights. We also joined their self-guided tour to Masada/Dead Sea which was very well timed and organised. Hummus making session was also a bonus that we joined too.

The same tip as other hostels: Bring good earplugs.

Staff is super friendly, but the area is not a great one, not dangerous, Israel is very safe but looks sketchy. The building, looks like an old high school, run down. Breakfast ok.
I stay one night after returning from one of their tours to Petra, stsyed in a private room with shower, was ok, but I wont stay more than 1 or 2 days

This is a really great hostel, bfast is pretty standard and the bar has nice options and does a delicious
pizza. The location is great, just a 5NIS tram ride from the new gate, also close to the train station and therefore easy to get to from Tel Aviv and its airport. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, so why not a perfect review? The aircon unit was noisy, the fans in it need refurb as the bearings sound like they are failing. Secondly, and there is no way to put this nicely, we had a private room with private toilet and the toilet stank of stale piss. There were also used towels left from previous guests. The communal toilets were spotless and our issues were mentioned upon checking out and given how well the hostel is run I am fully confident this will be remedied. Honestly I would stay here again, the positives outweigh the negative.

Central location. Clean room & linen. Facility to store baggage when you are away is a plus. Kitchen appliances not up to snuff. Self cleaning of plates, cutlery & utensils makes cleanliness of these items a matter of personal hygiene that impacts subsequent users. Only a few of the front desk people take courtesy to customers seriously.

The accommodation itself was great. I went on two of their tours and enjoyed the hummus making workshop. They have themed nights, which were fun and a great way to meet people. The walk to the old city is about 20 minutes through a shopping district.

The only issue I had was their lack of flexibility with bookings. I had a last minute change to my trip and lost 7 nights of paid accommodation. They fall back on their \"policy\" with no budging. No part refunds or exchanges were offered. It was busy at the hostel and there was a good chance they filled my bed after I left, receiving double payment. It doesn't seem right. I will not stay with them again for this reason. It is a shame since I enjoyed my time there. Be warned.

The best hostel I’ve stayed in.

The hostel has many activities to offer. We took advantage of a lot of them. Shabbat dinner, open mic night, Indian food for dinner. They even have free yoga on the rooftop. The beds are very comfortable and solid breakfast.

I stayed here in May, 2019 as a solo male traveler, using a four bed male dorm. I definitely recommend this place. True, it is older but for the economy traveler it has all you need. The bunk beds were OK and had outlets and reading lamps, the breakfast buffet was good with its emphasis on vegetables (lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, dressings) and bread, milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. It just seemed to me that they were all about serving their guests rather than making a big profit off of them. The front desk staff will take the time to help you understand how to use public transit and other vital information; the big breakfast/social hall/lounge can be used all hours for visiting, reading, doing computer work, cooking on your own if you wish most hours, yet its location made it so that noise generated there did not find its way down the halls of the dorm rooms. There was a nice healthy mix of youthful backpacker type travelers as well as 60-somethings such as myself, and everyone was friendly. The neighborhood appeared safe and walkable day and night. It is not a long walk to the old city. On site: Elevator, a fountain for drinking water, and self service laundry. Fast food and mini markets nearby. There is a computer in the lobby but they do charge to use it. The WIFI worked very well. Lockers in room but bring a lock. Buses (multiple lines) and light rail very close by. All in all a strong \"yes\" recommendation.

I liked the feel of the place and the staff were very nice. I hated the underbed lockers and would have preferred a stand up one. Also my friend had someone sharing her bunk and he came in at 2.30am disturbing her which is unacceptable.

Hostel has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You can relax on the roof when weatjer permits. Ex cellent reception staff. You feel at home. The tram stops just behind the hostel but you can walk to the old city in 15 minutes.

It's not the best hostel I've stayed in, as the room conditions are very average and the bathrooms seem a bit unclean. However the rooms are spacious, you get your own locker, they give you towels and the breakfast was ok. The tours which they offer are great as you'll get pick up from the hostel and it's well located near a food market for dinner in the evenings.
Unlike many other hostels where there is a young crowd, presumably due to Jerusalem being quite expensive, there is a much older crowd of people, and at one point, I'm sure the average age in my room was around 50/60!

PRO: My husband and I booked a private room with Abraham Hostel since we were taking a couple of their tours with early starts in the morning. This worked out well, since the meeting point was simply in the lobby.

CONS: The bed was not comfortable, and the room was noisy. While the shower had good pressure, it would make a mess on the floor of the whole bathroom and the curtain sticks to you. The staff isn’t friendly. The breakfast we received at the Bedouin Camp as part of the Petra Tour was better than what they serve at the hostel.

Great location, near Jaffa St. Also only 20 min. walk to Central Station. Many good places to eat and grocery stores. We were cold so they gave us a heater. Good wifi.
