This hotel is adjacent to the Lev Yerushalayim and is right in Ben yehuda. So, it's not quiet and construction in the light rail extension makes extra noise. The hotel itself isn't a super fancy place that serves breakfast but those hotels charge like $20 a person for breakfast and you can eat much better for a fraction and a dozen places near by. I would stay here again. Ameer is great.

The location of the hotel is really great - close to everything. You can walk to the Old City in 20 minutes. Lots of dining options around. Really enjoyed the comfortable bed and nice shower. They also gave free water and slippers which was very nice!
The only negative thing is the construction which is right in front of the hotel, but nothing you can do...

The room smelled extremely clean when we arrived, even though they were doing construction on the street outside, the staff was very accommodating and they all spoke good English since we speak no Hebrew this really helped. We were very happy about everything with the room. The location was very close to the old city and to the shuk market we had bought a Rav-kav card to use on the light rail and buses and it was easy to use and refill; there are alot of restaurants within walking distance. Given the chance we will stay there again.

Only one person was there to greet us. It is a limited service facility. Unfortunately for them, the city is expanding construction of the Light Rail on the street in front of the apartment/hotel, so the noise of the construction begins Sunday morning soon after 7 a.m. The room was clean, bed comfortable, helpful to have efficiency kitchen. Location is excellent, so overall a good value.

Everything from checkin to the room itself was horrible. The man at the reception desk was very nasty when we asked for late check out on Shabbos. The blanket and pillows in one of our 2 rooms were unusable, as they smelled like dirty feet. My daughter and son in law had to sleep with jackets on. In our room we had 2 bath towels, one of which had a huge hole in the middle… it was so thin that it didn’t dry my husband. The hair dryer in the bathroom didn’t work. We had to have someone come to the room to fix the TV. When we reported these issues to the person on duty at checkout, he said he’d let the manager know. From
Friday afternoon (actually we arrived at 11 on Friday) until Sunday, according to the workers , there was no manager available on the premises.
We will never stay in this hotel again. Worst experience ever.

Great location, but terrible service. When I checked into the room, I discovered the bathtub was dirty and the room (even though non smoking) had a smell of smoke. When I talked about that to the front desk, the guy starting arguing with me that it's not possible since the rooms are being cleaned daily and are not smoking. Eventually, he gave me another room, which was smaller then the original one, but at least looked clean. When I asked to refund the price difference, he said that this is the room I ordered. When I showed him pictures from Expedia about the property that were clearly showing bigger room and bigger picture, he said that Expedia didn't update pictures and they belong to different hotel. I called Expedia, but they couldn't reach out the property to resolve my issue.

Shower hot water runs out after a bit- so no long showers..
Apparently they're doing construction cuz of rain damage but in the meantime the ceiling was crumbling from water damage. Curtains are old and dirty. You have everything you need in the room but nothing fancy and they don't change linens unless requested, even though I was there for 2 weeks! Overall it served the purpose and it was a decent stay but it could definitely use some work. Inside microwave wasn't cleaned before me. At check-in there was no one there, so I had to wait a while till he came which was kind of annoying cuz I was exhausted after a long flight. Staff was nice for the most part. You get what you pay for.
No frills but u have what ever u need in the room....

Disappointed that room was not ready by 3.00 p.m check in time.
Although there were notices for no smoking in the room, there was a distinct smell of cigarettes on the floor and in the room.
Overall, the staff were excellent - very helpful at all times and overall our stay was very good value for money.

It's Alright for One Night

Overall, it was okay. By Israeli standards, this would probably be considered nice. The pictures are incredibly deceiving. The furniture and bedding are not nearly as nice as they make them look. There was water leaking by the wall in the bathroom. My balcony overlooked piles of trash. I had to come by twice to check in because there was no one at the front desk. There was also no one there in the morning, so I left my room key with a note. The room was clean and okay for one night.

We had a problem checking into the hotel. We’re told that the reservation is cancelled. We got the email from Hotel.com couple days before check in regarding the upcoming hotel.
We were shocked upon arrival with the news.
They managed to let us and our friend traveling together check in with the same price.

The tour agent lady at the reception desk was very bad.
She booked three of us into the large group tour instead of a small one. She was wrong with the tour time (she said it finishes at 2, but it was 5, etc)
The last night at the hotel, we asked the hotel receptionist about the place to eat, preferably the local authentic meals.. But all the restaurants were closed on Friday evening including the fast food places. we had to walk about 1 hour finding the open place to eat in the cold wether.
There’re some communication problems in English at the hotel.
The hotel itself was clean and in a convenient location.

Clean the damn room

Stayed here several but not sure if there was a change in management. I always left the room early and when I returned at noon, everything was made up. This time my room was being made past noon and the last there, at 2:00, the room wasn't made up. I was exhausted and wanted to relax. I saw the girl in the next room and told her I'll be back in an hour, can she make up the room. She said yes. Returned an hour later and saw her smoking a cigarette on the balcony of the next room I figured she was done. Went upstairs. Room wasn't touched. Told her to give me towels and forget the room. I'll think twice before I return

This is a \"spot-on\" property. Exactly what we were looking for and exactly where you need to be.

Great room, clean, comfortable, modern (awesome shower) and a little kitchenette. The staff was great, with easy check-in and accommodating. The price was good in comparison to many expensive properties in the area.

The location does not get more perfect. You can walk everywhere or you are just a couple minutes walk from the light rail.

Its location is excellent, walkable to many places, with bus stops near by that one can basically go anywhere. It’s 3 minutes walk to the light rail, 1 minutes walk to bus stations, and 7 minutes walk to Yehuda market. Many eateries and restaurants are nearby too.

The property is in such a great location! Ben Yehuda street is right behind the building. It’s about a 10 minute walk to The Machena Yehuda Market and about a 30 minute walk to the Old City. It’s a block away from Jaffa Street to take the train if you prefer not to walk.
The place itself is clean and the bed was comfortable. We loved the walk in shower with a choice of shower head (hand held and rain shower).
We would definitely stay here again!

The linens were not ironed, feeling unclean.
I asked for other linens, but they were not ironed either. Hope they were after the wash ... I was really disappointed. The pillows and blankets are dirty. The shower is relatively clean. A roll of toilet paper is not new. The used facecover is thrown in the hallway. At night it was noisy from the street. It seems that all the rooms are faced to the street so the noise is inevitable. There is a small balcony with a chair and table, for one person only. The kitchenette is relatively well equipped. Central location. I will not return here again.

We were sent to a room but it was not ready so we came back to the reception and got another one.
OMG. Everything was dirty and shabby... the most terrible were the pillows that we asked for clean cases.
The bathroom was totally imposible with old stuck urine marks all over.
As we complaint we were offered a better and cleaner room but only in the morning. I cannot believe I slept there!
New room on 4th. floor was clean and nice. I cannot underhand why they dare to offer a room in such conditions. Wouldn't even give a score of 1 to first room, while the second can get a 7.

Very lovely room with balcony. Comfortable bed, great pillows (huge down pillows), fabulous oversized soft fluffy bath towels, and a nice little kitchenette area for reheating leftovers. The locations is perfectly central near anything you could need. All in all a perfectly good experience!

Hotel of Horrors you may call it. Definitely nothing as advertised in the photos on Hotels.com. I thought Hotels.com would be more selective of the hotels they list here, I have stayed at hostels nicer than this “hotel”. The room that I was put in did not match any of the photos, instead it was outdated and dirty. The window had metal shutters, making you feel in jail without any natural light. The fan/heating unit was covered in black mold. Bathroom was not cleaned as I entered the room; walls were dirty behind the door, mirrors had water splashes on them and toilet had problems flushing. I checked in at 1pm and around 3pm someone walked into my room as I walked out of the bathroom naked, following my cold shower because the hot water did not work either. At 8am I was woken up to loud banging and renovations going on until 11am. When I addressed these issues the girl at the front desk was sweet and polite but all she said was sorry, without trying to rectify any of these problems.

The hotel DOES NOT respect the type of room reserved through Expedia, but give whichever room. VERY DISAPPOINTING and the reason for which i will probably not use the hotel again.

I liked the location (close to Old City) and lively at night. However, they offered no laundry service and no real common area. It was very basic. We ended up walking to Abraham hostel to do laundry and to book tours because so little options were offered through this hotel.

The hotel is located just off Ben Yehuda Street, an easy walk to the Jappa Gate. While the hotel doesn't offer hotel parking, it does refer you to a local parking lot, and this worked out well enough.The staff is friendly and helpful.

FYI: The hotel does not include breafast, but there are several great places nearby.

The reason for my lower marks are that our shower drained slowly and flooded the bathroom floor, which required using our towels after each shower to dry the floor. It was quite the mess! By the water damage evident on the back of the door and along the wall, this is an ongoing problem that has never been given the proper attention... meaning they must get calls about it by each and every person who stays in this room. I could see for myself what could be done to address it, so I don't understand why they are not... but there you have it.

Otherwise... nice enough, great location, small balcony. I'd ask for a non-flooding room.

It is very close to the restaurants and shops . It is within walking distance to the Old City. The reception clerk is very helpful and accomodating and the cleaning lady is very nice and always keep the room clean and provides new towels everyday. I will definitely stay there again when I come back to Jerusalem.

The hotel is conveniently located near to lots of restaurants and bakeries and within walking distance to the Old City. My room had a microwave, which was nice. Individual front desk staff, in particular Aline, tried hard to serve, for which I am grateful. But the general management and room service did not seem to be able to get their act together. I found someone else's hair on the hand towel at my room upon checking in. Afterward there was no hand towel provided for some of the days. The hotel ran out of bottled water (an item most guests would need badly given the Middle East hot summer) and was unable to get a resupply for over three consecutive days-something unheard of for any professionally run hotels. At the end, a particularly responsible staff member had to run to another hotel to get me the bottles. My room, though located toward the back, was still quite noisy sometimes through the late evenings because there were eateries on the back alleys.

Second time in this hotel. Excellent location and value, but discovered that the rooms are not all alike and the room conditions are variable. Got a great room last time, but this time our room was in need of updating. Non-functional stove and phones and poor decorations made the room feel drab and neglected. Double bed was made up with two single-person blankets, making for uncomfortable sleeping for a couple. Front desk staff needs more training in customer relations. This could be an excellent place but needs more attention.

Loved the location. However, the ability to drive up to the hotel and drop luggage was impossible so if you are travelling with a lot of luggage this is a problem. Perhaps the property could offer a luggage cart to enable you to get your luggage from the parking area to the hotel.

We had a fantastic time staying at the City Center Hotel-- the staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and nice. They even held our bags for us when we went away for the night, and another time when we checked out and didn't want to carry them all day. We had a really excellent stay and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially people looking for a convenient location in Israel!
