Wow for the price- clean room, warm breakfast, daily cleaning, central location, tv, not dodgy at all. Marvelous to be honest.

Shakushuka single egg is just enough. Perfectly baked with runny yolk (the sauce is on the very salty side.) Lovely fresh tomatoes etc and labneh, hummus, cottage.

And the pigeon murals, aren’t they adorable? 🐦

The sign was too small so I missed it for the first time, climbed the stairs to get to the real post office, and saw a plaque a out entering from the other side… it’s next door to Aish. (I’ve been to the post office actually a few days ago and didn’t notice hh)

Room is bright. The corridor and the street are quiet (except for Thursday night when the whole country goes crazy lol). I like the sound of tram passing.. soothing. Nice thick curtains (I used to sleep with curtain open to wake up more easily with nature light but this time I indulged in the disorientating darkness XD). And daily cleaning? I feel pampered in the hostel haha.

Towels are cleaner and tidier than my previous Airbnb lol.

The only real downside is thar it’s a little cold in mid/late November without heating. Fortunately there are extra beddings in the room so I piled them on me and felt comfy.

The room is not as glamorous as the pictures show but still clean and tidy. Initially there was some humid smell in the bathroom, but a quick ventilation solves the problem. No hairdryer.

A gem a very much want to keep it to myself XD

I love this place, the people, the all-around convenience of the location, and the care the management shows for clients. They know the guest kitchen needs to be enlarged and another refrigerator added, but business is just now increasing again after covid and the war. The staff are lovely. I always meet lovely people here. I am sold on the Post Hostel.

This wasn't my first stay at this hostel, it's a nice place to stay for a few days, the dorms and common rooms are spacious and the rooftop is a nice place to sit down and have a meal.
.
The toilets are a bit curious, with signs saying \"Please don't throw toilet paper in the toilets\".

The property is a bit run down, this time there was a water leak in the kitchen, they closed it down on Saturday afternoon and reopened it on Sunday morning. In the meantime I had no access to the food I had put in the refrigerator.

Also, there was a problem with the toilet in my dorm, the flush buttons kind of disassembled repeatedly. The toilet was still usable, though.

The breakfast was very spartan, but I guess \"adequate\".

Ive stayed at the post many times previously and was disappointed how far in standards it had fallen since my last visit.
I was left waiting for almost hour before i could check in, the room was dirty and the curtains didnt open so I was in total darkeness the entire time and tv didnt work in room
Raised both of these issues with reception who didnt care and basically shrugged their shoulders
Will never stay there again.

Helpful staff moved us from a room which opened into the courtyard and was v noisy, to a free upgrade to a gallery room which was much better. Breakfast was good. Rooms great, not the cleanest but we were there at a busy time of year and it is a hostel not a hotel! Staff wonderful.

Excellent location. Very walkable and local to everything need to see and meet up spots for tours. The breakfast buffet is totally worth the price. fresh and good variety. Lots of good choices of places to eat just minutes away. convenient store just couple minutes away. ample eating area and laundry machines. I found the staff to be very helpful and curious.

I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a budget option in a fantastic area of Jerusalem. It's tucked away from the busy street, clean, comfy, has good breakfast, and has a fun common area with a outdoor deck.

Well, property meet all requirements but breakfast needs to be more variety. The menu it is always the same, for people who stay , let’s say 03 days, this issue could be no problem but for me and my wife, was really not good eat always the same. Some staff in front desk are not very amicable. They just doing the job but be hostess mean much more than that.

Nice Hostel, good price and very good location [short walk to the Old City]. We had a room with private bathroom. The room was pretty small, but that was fine, as we just used it to sleep at night. There was a little too much noise at night when light rail works. Breakfast OK. We arrived around noon, before the official check in time. There was no one at the front desk and after waiting for 5 minutes we looked around and found a worker who helped us store the luggage before checking in. One of the guests at the Hostel opened the locked door for us - to be able to get into the Hostel's front desk area. The Hostel has a very nice terrace outside, with plenty of live plants. All on all, a good value, a good stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights . Looking at the photos on Hotel . Com I was really looking forward to staying here. However, was disappointed for various reasons . The reception staff were not overly friendly or helpful. Our bedroom was reasonably clean but both bed lights were broken. The drain in the showers was blocked and when showering the water flooded out onto the floor. It was so bad that it did not drain all night and my husband had to mop it up in the morning. We then let reception know but received no apology and although asked for more dry towels ended up having to chase them down later in the day . Breakfast was simple but adequate. Enjoyed the fresh orange juice and freshly made omelettes. Overall, it was not worth the money paid due to the previous reasons. Has potential to be excellent but failed us .

Great Summer Stay at The POST

Definitely one of the better hostel experiences I've ever had. We stayed in 2 private rooms for 4 nights- the rooms were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, the aircon worked great and the location was FANTASTIC. -very safe and walkable, with a lot of restaurants close by- as well as being a less than 10 minute walk to Jaffa Gate!
It was just a complete bonus that their breakfast was wonderful and they had a full bar and patio to relax on at the end of the day. Everyone working there was friendly, helpful, and informative.
We were traveling with my parents- in their 60s- and they were apprehensive about staying in a hostel- but they were pleasantly surprised by how adorable the decor was and how quiet and respectful all the staff and travelers were.
Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone traveling on a budget in Jerusalem!

We just loved this hostel. Like all hostels, housekeeping was limited to replacing towels, which was just fine with us. The included breakfast was ample and very good.The staff was well-informed and happy to answer questions. There was free luggage storage. The location was a ten or fifteen minute walk from Jaffa gate, a five minute walk from the City Hall tram stop, from which a direct tram to Mt. Hertzl and Yad Vashem runs frequently. The Jaffa St. shopping district was a couple of blocks away. The best thing about the Post was the 15 shekel bowls of soup available each evening and the pleasant communal dining room in which to eat them. We are elderly and had worried that a hostel with a bar inside would be noisy and full of young people who might wish we weren’t there. But we encountered a multi-aged group, including families with young children, and nothing but friendliness. We highly recommend this hotel.

Great place. Great location. Great food. The only issue we had was our room was so hot we had trouble sleeping. Our AC unit was not working. We asked 3 different times if we could get a fan or do something to pull in cool air from the outside but nothing ever got done to help.

I stayed on my own for 2 nights on a private twin room. The beds are very narrow but I asked them to put them together and then it was perfect! Staff really friendly, location is great and they really have everything in place for you to have a great stay! I 100% recommend their tours, specially the old town one that happens every morning. From Jerusalem central bus station take the light rail to 5 stops away and alight at City Hall stops. The postal building is across the road.
Checkin time is 3pm, however the room is already readied at 11am, so I was allowed to checkin early with no extra charge. Room is basic but clean with towels and basic toiletries eg shampoo, soap and shower wash. There are numerous power outlets which is fantastic.
A few days before checkin, the hostel will send you an email with a list of activities or tour you could take part. If you are keen on any touring activities, the sign up form is at the reception desk. All very easy.
Every morning a complementary breakfast is served. Simple but filing. At night the dining area became a cafe/bar where you could order drinks or cocktails.
Nice concept and great vibes and experience.

We had a wonderful stay at The Post Hostel, it is a fun and relaxing place to stay and perfectly located for the Old City and access to other areas in and around Jerusalem. This hostel’s very new and the facilities are all brand new. Bed is very comfortable and breakfast is definitely the highlight. Being very close to the Old City offers a lot of advantages and very close to a lot of restaurants. However, staff could be more helpful as there has been several misunderstandings in checking my room.

We arrived to some sort of political engagement evening without any prior warning, and on check in were told to be quiet by a member of the attending rally. Is this a hotel or a politcal HQ??
Our booking couldnt be found, then when it was, we were given a double bed room when we had booked a triple (which had 2 beds). When we queried this, we were told, we had arrived late (it was 7.30pm) and all triple rooms had gone. Funny, because I thought once a particular room type had been booked, it was booked for whatever time you showed up as opposed to a 'first come first serve' service. All we got was a shurg of the shoulders, 1 drinks voucher and the option to change to the correct room the next night, which we did. Rooms are very basic and feel hostel like despite the hotel pricetag.

Quiet and clean hostel with comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and a very nice staff. Location can’t be beat for exploring Jerusalem. A few easy improvements, like furnishing the rooftop deck, would make a big difference.

Take advantage of the various free tours with Shahar offered by the hostel. A great opportunity to meet other guests and get some insight into the city.

I especially like the location and the convenience...close to so many places you can easily walk or take the light rail.
The environment is welcoming and appealing; the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful; there is something for everyone with events scheduled for the guest’s entertainment; there are so many good things about this property that I go back each time I’m staying in Jerusalem.

Enjoyed the location and the inconspicuousness. Although I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, they didn't go overboard in reaching out with a friendly \"good morning\" etc.

I found it curious that an inn in Jerusalem does not feature mezuzot on the doorways to the rooms which has been traditionally the sign of a place consecrated/dedicated to a Higher level of safety and tranquility.

I had booked a room at The Post several weeks in advance. When we arrived we were told they were overbooked and we were sent to a hotel further away from the old city that we did not like. No attempt was made to call us or contact hotels.com to let us know so we could make alternate arrangements. No apology was given. Very disappointed.

The road less traveled is fun.

My trip was great, the hostel is amazing. The staff is very helpful and kind. To no fault of the establishment be aware when you stay in shared rooms bring ear plugs because a good portion of people snore. Other than that one little inconvenience I have zero complaints and highly recommend traveling to Jerusalem and staying at the Post Hostel.

I stayed here 3 nights in a 4 bed male dorm with a private bathroom. It's more expensive than a larger dorm, but I don't mind that because it's usually cleaner, tidier and quieter. The bathroom was clean, the blankets where clean, bed comfortable with a personal light and a well thought out USB point.

The breakfast is good with a lot of choice, I mean even for a hotel I'd consider the breakfast good, but for a hostel and the price paid, it's outstanding. I really enjoyed squeezing my fresh orange juice.

This is right up there with some of the best hostels I've stayed in. The staff are friendly and helpful, the hostel is clean and tidy, all the expected facilities including laundry room are available.

The one thing that annoyed me during the stay was it the bathroom was't cleaned everyday and the bin the the room wasn't emptied and filled up on the second day. I really wanted to give wanted to give the hostel an excellent rating, but if I'm going to pay above average for a hostel, then I think it's reasonable for housekeeping to clean a dorm too.

Having said that, I'd stay again the next time I'm in Jerusalem because the hostel really is very good.

Post hostel is located near the tram station. And it's just 10 minutes walk from old city. So it's really in a good location. However, the 12 mixed dorm is not clean, especially the bathroom. Sometimes the staff forgot to refill toilet paper:( but the price is really cheaper than the other hostel in Jerusalem. So don't expect too much if you want to pay less. :)

Great location!

The only negative thing about the stay was that they were out of towels. Luckily I had a small one with me in my suitcase. The location is unbeliebably close to Jaffa Gate and Mamila Mall. Jlm is by far one of my favourite cities in the world and I was lucky of having found and stayed at this location.

No Air Con, no help, no followup.

The Post was a great find, a really great communal space, a fun atmosphere, a lovely bar with fantastic staff. The room was small, neat and economical, very clean and all you need. However the air conditioning in our room did not work, making it impossible to sleep in the summer heat. The hotel staff were not able to fix the air con or move us to another room. They said they would compensate us one night, but on check out we were told this \"could not be done without a manager\" and that i would receive a call. No call came. I was very disappointed by this as I was looking forward to returning to this place as there are so many great things about it, but Jerusalem without air-con is a kind of torture.

Great location near the Old City

Terrific location...pleasant atmosphere for a hostel. Had a young person's vibe, but every age/race/traveler was present during our stay. Wonderful!

Jerusalem Post

Great friendly service, solved problem I had without fuss. Real dozen item comp. breakfast with veggies, fish, much more not just typical toast & Jam, huge common area, bar, shared kitchen, wifi excellant, only problem I had was finding place, entry on another parallel street, sign on building on Jaffa St, with hostel logo, [POST], but unless already knew that, would think it meant Post Office; AND st numbers in Israel don't go in order on sides of street so walked around for hour trying to find... That said, The Post was perfect and hope I get there again, 1 block from the L1 rail direct from Central Station and to Damascus Gate into old city
