The neighborhood is very charming with its back streets, alleys, and minutes from both Ben Yehuda and Mahne Yehuda Market. I’ve eaten pounds of shears and shakshuka. I will be back. A stay. One of the best hospitality we have experienced in Israel. The staff went out of their way to be helpful (with things like booking a taxi on Shabbat and getting aloe for a burn). The afternoon snacks and wine were a very nice touch. Yes the room is a bit small but still has enough room for 2 big suitcases. Was very clean. In contrast we stayed at a different “5-star property” in Jerusalem earlier in the trip where we had an awful stay re: staff and cleanliness. We would recommend this place. 10/10

I really appreciate staff’s hospitality. I booked the room without breakfast. But they provided me complimentary breakfast considering my long flight from Japan and tiredness. In addition, my check in time was from 2 pm. But they also provided early check in. Thanks to their heartfelt hospitality, my stay was really good:) I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Well appointed hotel within walking distance to the Old City, dining, and shopping. The breakfast (which we paid to add on on one day) was excellent. Generous happy hour in the afternoon, and super helpful staff! The rooms were on the small side, but that is fairly typical in Israel and Europe.

The hotel is located close to the Old City (i.e. a cab ride cost 32 NIS/$8-9 US to the Jaffa Gate), with tons of dining options within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel was clean; the breakfast was really lovely. Our room was just a room and the bath was a tad on the small size, but served us well because we were only in the room basically for sleeping. There is a parking garage just down the street a bit, which really was your only parking option. There's a little fenced courtyard which was quite pleasant for those days that ended early. It's a cute little boutique hotel and we would stay there again. (Only thing missing is a chair in the room ... that would be nice)

I have done a lot of traveling across the globe and it is exceedingly rare to find the level of service my wife and I found here. The communication, even before we checked in, was excellent. We stowed bags before our check in and were greeted warmly with tea & coffee (& chocolate). All questions were answered warmly and enthusiastically. I also enjoyed the happy hour as well as the set up of the hotel. Simply superb!

A wonderful place for exploring Jerusalem. The rooms are on the small size, but perfectly adequate for two persons. They come with all the standard amenities, and some extras like a small Shabbat treat waiting for us on Friday afternoon. The breakfast is top notch and a lovely happy hour makes for a nice way to end the day. Staying at the Bezalel Hotel is a real pleasure. The operations manager, Adi Gitei, and other reception personnel are very friendly, helpful, and kind. Indeed we found the whole staff of servers and housekeepers very accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed. The dining room is attractive and the breakfast buffet is quite good. Relaxing on the roof deck with a beautiful view of the city is a real pleasure. Its location in the center of Jerusalem is very convenient.

It is lovely and in a terrific location. Staff is great and the breakfast and happy hour buffets are lovely. Everything was perfect for a boutique hotel BUT the rooms for two people are very small. We protested and got a great room that was spacious but don't know how many of those there are. Would ask them about getting a bigger room if you book or make sure you get one of the bigger ones.

The staff and the manager Ayala were very kind and hospitable, except Kevin who was not accommodating. Our coffee and teas were not replaced by housekeeping. We called front desk, he answered. Instead of offering to have someone to bring them to the room, he told my husband to come down to the reception to get the coffee and to the dining room to get the tea bags. We were shocked by his attitude. Also, the room needed some deep dusting and cleaning; coffee and sugar tray was covered with dust and behind the tv needed cleaning. The sugar packets were stained with coffee spill, and packets were so old that the packaging was changed from white to black. The stained white sugar packets were still in the tray.😬

The reception staff helped with our reservation for the City of David and Kotel Tunnel tour. With his help we managed to get our refund as Western wall reservation staff made mistake. They also guided us in planning our daily trips and checking with the taxi fares.
In addition, they provided towels for the whole family when visiting the dead sea.
The dinning area staff were kind to fill our water bottles with ice every morning for the trip.

I have stayed here a few times and will do so again in future. It is a relatively small and friendly hotel located near Ben Yehuda street and easily walkable into Old City. Room is comfortable, happy hour laid on by hotel from 5pm-7pm a great addition to the stay. It would be good if air con was a bit more powerful - i.e. cooled room quicker and cooler. I found it a bit too hot despite having air con on all night

This is an amazing small hotel with great design. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is wonderful. It also has some nice outdoor seating. The food is quite good including some hot soup, etc. If you are tired, you can go to bed after enjoying your time during Happy hours. A gem of a hotel is Bezalel.
Our stay was absolutely amazing - from the very moment we were welcomed into the hotel to the moment we left we were impressed by the speedy, friendly and extremely efficient service. Not only were we welcomed with a choice of Nespresso, fruit juices or lemon water, we were given chocolates whle the receptionist, a gentle and kind young man, quickly dealt with our reception. We were also told that there was a Happy Hour between 5pm to 7 pm with fruit juices, coffee, tea and wine! The wine, red and white were excellent. But that’s not where the largesse ended. We were also given a light evening meal : fruit, pasta, typical Israeli rice dishes, sushi, a sort of spanakopita, a fresh fruit plate and various savouries.
The rooms were speedily made up and cleaned every day. Any wish of ours was treated as commands - it was delightful. The bedlinen and towels were new, fresh and crisp. The toiletries contained Dead Sea products and one could request more if you felt like it.
The rooms may be small, but well laid out and had everything a tourist could wish for.
Not only does the Hotel Bezalel havecolourful, original and interesting art allover, but it even supplies a booklet on the design and art of the hotel.

The Bezalel is a true gem and I love it for its location, upscale/modern rooms, and the amazing breakfast that is included. Situated right at the top of Ben Yehuda street and a short walk from both the Old City and the shuk, the location can't be beat. The rooms are modern and clean with very comfortable beds. The amazing Israeli breakfast each morning is plentiful and feels like it was cooked by someone's grandma. I also enjoyed the free happy hour both days. The staff were friendly and helpful and very attentive. This hote reminded me a lot of a Kimpton in the US.
