We stay frequently at Holiday Villa and the service is always very good. I requested a shaving kit from the front desk and it was supplied within the hour; we always get a late checkout, which is great! The only downside is that the Skypool water can be chilly even in warm weather; and the breakfast does not include pork or real beef (the fake beef looks like pork, though!). Other than these quibbles, we would gladly stay at Holiday Villa any time!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this villa and couldn't have asked for more! The property was even better than the photos.

· The Pool: The private pool was the star of the show. It was impeccably clean and so refreshing, especially after a day out in JB. and we loved relaxing on the sun loungers in the evening. It was the perfect private oasis.
· The Gym: As fitness enthusiasts, we were thrilled to have a basic-equipped gym right on the premises. It had modern cardio and weight machines, which meant we didn't have to skip our workout routine. A fantastic and unexpected bonus!
· The Breakfast: The included breakfast was delicious and such a convenience. We looked forward to it every morning! It offered a great mix of local Malaysian favorites and continental options. A wonderful way to start the day.

The villa itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The front office staff Miss Kalaivani was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Thank you for your thoughtful arrangement for getting a room near to the loft as my mom's knee caps are not well. 👍👍👍

We highly recommend this hoteland will definitely be returning on our next trip to Johor Bahru. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!😊😊😊

The rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable but very dated. The lifts need better maintenance, 2 of 4 had faulty control panels which meant that I couldn't always select the floor I wanted. The pool and sauna are great, however some padded seat covers for the sun lounges would be a great improvement. The gym is like a sauna, no a/c which makes it stifling and uncomfortable to use. Reception staff while being friendly and engaging need greater training, our check-in was really challenging. Breakfast is good, a broad range of food available both local and international. Eggs can be scrambled, fried or omelette but usually like much of the food it is cold by the time you get it which makes it unappetising. This hotel has some great qualities, it's location and friendly staff but needs some significant improvement.

Wrong Room Number Given on Key Card:
Upon check-in, I was assigned Room #1914, but the front desk wrote the wrong number #1913 on my key card. As a result, I was unable to access the room and instead tried to open another guest’s room #1913. To my great embarrassment, that guest opened the door, thinking someone was attempting to enter.

Room Key Cards Stopped Working:
Aug 13, when we got back to hotel at night, both room keys suddenly stopped working. I had to travel from the 19th floor to the ground floor to get them replaced. The front desk issued new keys, but they still failed. I then had to call for help and wait for staff to come up and fix the lock before I could re-enter my room.

As of today, there has been no response from the Holiday Villa Management after repeated attempts.

Not bike friendly

Hotel is not bike friendly. The only carpark for bikes is at a road side below the hotel. If you want to park at the hotel, you need to pay 20rm per day! Means if u stay for 3 days, u need to pay 60rm!! That's even more expensive than a car and heck car can park for free if u stay there. I was constantly worried about my bike the whole stay and there's 1 time it was shifted by someone. Felt really unsafe.
The toilet does not drain properly. The shower is in the bathtub and it was slippery to get down frm it and the floor right beside the bathtub pooled water.
The toiletries like body soap, shampoo and conditioner was too little. Need to ask for more.
The wardrobe doors was unable to open close properly.
The lighting for the room was good with natural light but at night it was too dimmed. Not enough lighting.
Other than that, the cleanliness was good and the breakfast spread was up to standard. They had an infinity pool with a view which is nice.

Holiday Villa Johor Bahru was situated at a good location, whereby just across the street is the KSL mall and also along the road there are a few eateries and massage shops throughout the day🙂🙂🙂. Room and facilities at the hotel are spacious and clean. Not to forget to the housekeeper who clean the Room 1228 for the period 27th July to 28th July 2025. Thank you for all the staffs who make the stay here a pleasant trip😘😘😘. We will be coming back here again whenever we coming in to Johor. Breakfast buffet was quite standard and I like the ambience and the varieties of foods that was available. Good job to the management and to all staffs at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru👍👍👍

The hotel is in dire need of a major refurbishment. Beyond the physical state, the check-in process was horrendous and significantly detracted from the guest experience before we even reached our room. Upon arrival, staff were observed scrambling to locate the credit card machine for deposits, repeatedly going in and out of the backroom to photocopy passports, and there was a complete lack of a proper queuing system. This disorganization led to a 25-minute check-in time, exacerbated by guests bypassing the line and approaching other counters, and slow service from the staff. My deepest sympathy goes to one particular trainee staff member who was left unattended at the first counter, handling a long queue with no assistance. Guests were seen bypassing her entirely to go to other counters, highlighting the severity of the understaffing and inadequate training support.

My only choice of hotel stay in JB is here. Have been here a few times. Only the recent stay the room is not very clean in the bathroom with stains n dust. The safe is spoilt too. Probably there were many groups event here staying so I was given a lower choice room. Breakfast quality can be improved.

Location was most convenient. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The only flaw we noticed was the way water gets trapped between the bathtub and the glass panel. There is no way to drain the water and it accumulates around the edge of the bathtub and overflows onto the bathroom flooring which makes it very slippery. The bathroom floor towel is soggy and messy and adds to the discomfort of the toilet.

Hotel room with full glass panel, good view from high floor and a lot of sunlight make the room bright in the day but insufficient lighting make the room dark at night.
Breakfast spread is good but taste can be improved.
My room was outside the life lobby with 2 dustbins, found cockroach clawning on my room's table.
Power failure in the morning for a few hours shown that hotel do not have proper back up plan for electricity supply, during these few hours only one lift and dinning area were in operation.
There were no notices and information given during power failure period could be an safety issues needed to be addressed immediately.

Love the room and bathroom space, love the wide windows, the walking distant to KSL and some F&B. Can improve with some (not all) customer services, the TV channels and what guests have to park at level 4 & 5 where the driveways up and down are so narrow, add a handhold shower option in the shower, repair the shaky bathroom holders and faulty bathtub stopper.

I'm a solo female traveler. It is 1 minute walk from KSL mall, so it share the same easy access to shops, mall, food .. with a better hotel experience.

Hotel has sophisticated large/clean/nice bed/proper toiletries, swimming pool, sauna, lounge, karaoke, great breakfast, nice staff .. they accept my late check-out.

I feel safe, comfortable so I'd visit more often.

Holiday Villa location is only 2 min walk to KSL ! A lot of good food in this area , Hotel was not new but well maintained but the room sound proof can hear n neighbour sound .. when I stat for one night . The rain was so heavy at night that u can hear the rain sound so loud at 3 to 5 am … I didn’t get a good sleep as the rain was so loud .. Hope the next time I stay no rain sound

1) Not child family as there is only rain shower outlet in the toilet and no normal shower head. How to bathe a toddler without getting wet? How to wash legs when change to bedroom slippers without getting wet?

2) The toilet is terrible as the 02 in my room have mould and stains.

3) Some parts of the room had a layer of dust.

4) The room is considered big. There are plenty of food eateries around the hotel.

I arrived early morning and Mr. Jagdeep was kind to let me have early check in to rest. Really appreciate. Reception staff all helpful and friendly, patient. It is not a new hotel but it knows how to run it efficiently and keep good maintenance and cleanliness. Location is fantastic to access all the goodness of the city centre.

The only room I know, that you can enjoy your time in the bathtub whilst enjoying the nice high rise view outside. Love the premium suite here. And the convenience around the area.
The management needs to improve on the hotel’s customer service especially at the lobby, for checking in and out. 3 times booked a room there - but often met with cold reception. The younger ones were immature. Overheard in Malay their comments. Better keep their sarcasm to themselves. We book a hotel room to chill and relax. The hotel should really improve on their customer service.

Stayed one night on New Year Day and was utterly disappointed at how the hotel has deteriorated through the years.
Have always been my choice of hotel in JB but after trying other hotels in JB for the past 1year, have decided to stay for a night at Holiday Villa after driving back from KL.
Check-in was efficient but upon reaching level 15 of the hotel, the lift lobby carpet were mouldy with a foul smell that stretches to my room.
Entered my room and the carpet in my room were wet and mouldy with the foul smell as well.
There were no effort to remove the stains (possibly hair dye or other brownish products) left by previous customers as the flooring of the shower area were stained with those.
Doesn't give a clean and comfy feeling to rest on after a long drive.

Toilet door could not be closed. The door don’t even fit into the frame. Closet lights blinking. Toilet paper holder is loose. Looks like a screw has fallen off. I booked for 3 persons but was only given 2 single- size beds put together. They want to extra rm85 for extra bed when I have already indicated 3 persons in the booking. This is definitely not a 4.2 star rated hotel. Ruined my holiday.

Hotel location was ver good, just crossed the road can reach KSL shopping mall.

Overall the stay was comfortable , big thanks to reversation team help to arranged for our booking of 3 rooms on the same floor with connection to each other. Have a hapoy family trip.

I would like to feedback the toiletries items can be improved, such as to orovide cotton bud, citton wool pad...shower gul, shampoo & conditioner too snall bottle.

Poor stay. Hotel issued another couple same room and that couple tried to enter our room when we were inside!! Also very inflexible with making us go up to the car to get the parking ticket to validate when they could have just gave a new ticket. Room sound proofing is poor also can hear next door and from upstairs. Poor stay will not stay here again

This is the second or third time im staying here. Check in was fuss free and quick, took about 5 mins as there wasnt any queue. Staff was friendly. KSL mall is just opp the hotel, mid valley was about 8 mins by grab.

Breakfast was simple but enough. Basic breakfast choices, the nasi lemak was good.
Room is big, toilet is big and clean. However, we could hear the outside noises even though we were on a high floor. And we could hear our neighbour talking too. Light sleepers should take note. The room basically wasnt sound proofed at all.

Would stay here again but with ear plugs.
