you need to turn on the water tap for a 5-10mins then you may feel the water turn warm.
WIFI speed is terrible , youtube video need to setup to the lowest quality to stream which is bad.

Room is clean. Had asked for a quiet room, but could still hear some traffic noise which is ok for us. Hotel is about 6 minutes’ walk to KSL via a small slightly uphill road lined with houses from the back of the hotel. Staff is courteous.

Hotel is aged and some areas are run-down. My bathtub and basin had silicon like stains, drains likely choked and was a bit slow draining out.
Spa is closed. Pool is not open for evening/night swims.
Cable TV is really the local network. Forget about HBO, movies and international sports and news channels.
Bed mattresses are not longer offering good support, and sagged in the middle. Luckily i booked twin beds instead of a king/queen bed and one of the single mattress was at least firmer.

I had a generally comfortable stay at this hotel. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience feel warm and personal. The room itself was clean and cozy—great for a short getaway.

However, one issue stood out: the bath towels were unfortunately quite dirty. If you're planning to stay here, I’d recommend bringing your own towels just to be safe.

We returned hotel at about 11 pm, there was not a single security personnel at the hotel lobby. At the counter, we saw a single person playing with mobile phone, without noticing us going into the hotel lift. The lift could be accessed by anybody to any levels.

When I checked in this hotel, the receptionist assigned me 14th floor room. The room was terrible, there was strong smell in the room, aircon leaving, room was dark the light was very old. It is totally different from what i saw on the internet. I went down to complain about the leaking, and they changed my room to 7th floor. It is renovated room. A huge difference for the room, the bed is new, room is bright and the bathroom is new. I wonder why the reception did not put me to 7th floor, there were empty rooms. I paid Rm270 per night. Luckily i went to ask to change room, otherwise I would have stayed in an very old room. I won't go back to this room

We stayed at Crystal Crown Hotel Johor Bahru from 29/3 to 1/4 during the Raya holiday for a short Singapore trip. Chose this hotel because of its location near CIQ and reviews mentioning spacious rooms. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The hotel and room were old and outdated. Shower water pressure was inconsistent — it stopped and started while using, which was very annoying. TV was small, fridge wasn’t turned on, and basic amenities were lacking.

The worst part — my son's soft toy (a SGD18 dragon from Universal Studios) went missing from our room on 31/3 while we were out. He was very attached to it and slept with it every night. The only people who entered the room were housekeeping. We reported the incident to the front desk, but they couldn’t give any answer. At check-out, they asked us to write an incident report and wait for their investigation.

After two days, Azhar from the hotel replied saying they are not responsible for lost items and asked us to make a police report. Seriously? They expect guests to travel back to JB just to report a missing soft toy? This response was frustrating and disappointing. No accountability, no empathy.

We will never stay here again. The staff can’t be trusted and the hotel clearly does not care about guest experiences. Not safe, not worth it. Avoid this place.

The renovated rooms look great. Though the TV has no signal. (Didnt bother to ask for help, since I'm not using anyway).

No in-room safe, used the safe deposit at front desk. Similar to past reviewers, they seems to have poor housekeeping of the safe keys. Took them some time to find the keys that I've returned the night before.

Staff was not helpful initially until we called Expedian customer service team to dispute. Non smoking rooms smelled like smoke and bathroom sink was clogged. Breakfast was okay.

Property could do with uplift and embracing more digitisation. It’s very old and requires some major renovation. Staff are very nice and polite.

For example, security deposit could be charged to a credit card instead of cash. The wifi is also very slow and unstable. To be very frank, I would rather book elsewhere with a smaller room, but with better wifi.

The only issue i faced was toilet bowl in my room had water ponding. After flushing the water does not goes back to the neck of the toilet bowl.

The room we booked was different from webpage, was old and run down.
Only bed and pillows are comfortable.

TV was satellite so not smooth at all and not much programs too.

The room, front counter service is good. But the morning breakfast buffet for Sunday is below my expectation especially the Loti Canai and Egg Counter by a Fat Malay guy. The person (guy) is not able to manage and unable to cook any egg except for Canai. When the lady cook is there, even when busy she is still able to serve fried eggs. For the guy, he directs all customers to get scrambled eggs.

The room is ok, the aircon does not work well as its not cold when it reaches the middle of the night. The toilet's condition is ok. All their rooms does not have a safe. So do not bring your valuables for your trip if you really planning to leave them in the room.

The noise insulation of this hotel is very very bad as you can hear the vehicles driving pass at night. We had a hard time sleeping throughout our entire stay there.

We paid approx 60+ sgd per night for our stay here. I really would not recommend staying here for the price you are paying for... Just top up a bit more and stay in better hotels.

Booked this 1 night stay for 5 aug as a last min plan because we decided to go in to jb a day earlier but they did not have the same room type as our initial booking for 6 to 9 aug, which was the newly renovated room because they were fully booked.
We just accepted and thought it shouldnt be that bad and was given an older room on level 12.

The room is super run down, the aircon does not work well, we would wake up in the middle of the night in sweat. The toilet's condition is very bad as well. There was mold at the sink and bath tub area. The showerhead cannot be removed fyi.

Conveniently located about 5 minutes walk away from KSL, breakfast buffet was great. Air conditioner seems faulty, the room was only cooling after the entire night of lowest temperature with highest fan speed setting. Shower head was also faulty, overall hotel and room condition is rather old and run down. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly, gave us an extra bed cos we had 3 pax but booked a room with two twin beds. Should consider removing the small mirror facing the bed and have a full length mirror near the door instead, seems creepy to have a mirror looking at the ceiling when you’re lying down.

Hotel check-in was slow as there were too many checking in at the same time, at 2 pm. The older man at the counter helped but was confused about how many nights I was staying. The room was nowhere like what I saw on the website; the room was spacious, kind of empty at the same time. They had renovated the rooms, but badly, the bathroom now has a sliding door on the outside of the original door frame and cannot be locked. The water pressure was adequate, not fantastic, and I had to wait 5 to 10 minutes to get hot water, wasting water while it was flowing. The room had no slippers, and the wooden floors were not cleaned, so I had to get a pair of slippers outside. The hotel shops, spas, and all facilities except for the pool are closed, so nothing apart from the room there. The nearest food area by foot is the food store, about 8 minute's walk to KSL Mall. The surrounding areas are all shuttered also. Next time will try New York Hotel or KSL Resort Hotel if staying in JB. They have food stores outside or a mall nearby for supplies. Lastly, if you stay at this hotel, bring your amenities like shampoo and toothbrush as the ones given at the hotel are really not too good, and on day one, there was also no hand soap.

2.Breakfast was really nice.Have to try their nasi lemak.

Have a good night stay in Crystal Crown Hotel. The staff were friendly, good location with walking distance to KSL Mall and also a big street foodcourt opposite.
Although the hotel has a spa, you need to pay if wanna use the sauna and steam room. Also there isn't a gym.

This Crystal Crown Hotel is located near KSL shopping mall and within walking distance to FnB outlets . Provide reasonable breakfast meals and hotel services are just as great .
Is also value added as price range are good in my opinion however, they could have improve the range of TV channels or at lease more movies channels for individual selection .

The photos of the hotel looks amazing but when I entered, the room looks dated. The bathroom has only a single unadjusted shower head and the shower curtain had stains on them. The pillows are not comfortable at all.

Super terrible sound proof hotel

This is definitely one of my worst hotel experience ever! The sound proof of this newly renovated hotel room is super terrible, the window soundproof is bad that I could hear loud vehicle exhaust as night as I was facing main road. Secondly, I was so unlucky to have a family staying exactly above, children running around, jumping and throwing stuff on to the floor, I could hear it so clearly from my roof and it's really annoying, got woke up few times by them in the late night. Lucky front desk sent security to warn them.

Room cleanliness of also below expectations, cleaner didn't clean all the dust n rubbish under the coffee table as well as study table.

In conclusion, this is my first and also last stay in this hotel.

The room is spacious, clean and bright. Very convenient location for those without car - the bus stop is right in front of the hotel and there are several buses from JB Sentral. KSL mall is less than 5 min walk away. Many eateries in the area within walking distance. The swimming pool was nice. Breakfast was simple but pretty good. Overall very good value for money. (I have stayed in smaller rooms without breakfast for the same price range in JB downtown area).

About 5-10minutes walk to KSL. Right outside across the road you can find food and massage place. Amenities wise, pool is small and I am not sure how frequent the water quality is checked. Carpark is tight, be very careful as you turn especially if you drive a big car. Room is big and cosy, but towels looked like they need changing.

I chose this hotel for it location and the price. I am glad I did as it turn out to be a great experience.. Spacious room with a good cost. Location is walking distance to shopping malls and lots of eating place nearby. If there is anything to pick on.. Its the carpark. Too tight on the corner for turning up and down the ramps... Allover is great for me! Thanks!
