We literally only needed a place to sleep while in town for a dance competition. The room was what was expected. The beds being so comfortable exceeded my expectations. The desk staff were friendly and inviting. My only complaint was the smell of cigarette smoke in our bathroom in the middle of the night and early morning. We were in room 203. Made me thankful I didn't hang my daughter's comp costumes in there. The lighting was dim, even with all on. Which was only a problem for me when applying full face makeup on my daughter at 5am. Overall great for what we needed. A comfy bed to sleep in for a few hours.

This is a great stop in Utica! We were very pleasantly surprised to find the room exactly as pictured and truly spotless! Conveniently and safely located as well as pet friendly. Friendly check-in staff. Happy with our stay!

The woman at the front desk was welcoming and helpful, and the room was tidy. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The free Wi-Fi was only available in one building, so I could not get both Wi-Fi and a first-floor room, as I had requested. The exterior \"hallways\" were unpleasantly dirty, and the stairs to the second floor were rough and rutted, which made it difficult to haul up my suitcase. The room was like a refrigerator (I could see my breath) and took almost two hours to warm up to anything near room temperature, so I did not take a much-needed shower. TV was down \"just for the day\" throughout the whole place. Oh, and the toilet only flushed completely if you held the handle down through almost the entire cycle. I am shocked that this place showed up as a 7.6 on Hotels.com.

Room was a last minute booking. Front desk was very friendly. Room was clean. No hair dryer, no iron, no microwave or coffee maker. I will say shower was great…I live strong water pressure. Towels could be thicker.

Hair in shower. Scum in sink and tub. Tv not working correctly, front desk took almost an hour to answer phone. No soap at all in room. Left with less than half a roll of toilet paper. I got what i paid for, a cheap room in a 2 star red roof. Not impressed. Will not return.

Room was spotless bedding was nice and clean fresh towels waiting for me as well as fresh packaged toiletries I would also like to say how impressed I was with the customer service from the front desk as I bought a new phone yesterday and as it was Christmas Eve I did not have a phone block for my charger cord the woman at the front desk went out of her way to make sure I was able to charge my cell phone so I had it for today

My room was spottless and while the property is a little older, it did not show the wear others are showing. Check-in was smooth and quick which is always wonderful at 12am. Overall it was a great stay for a more than reasonable price.

I was in Utica overnight for business the next day. I selected this hotel because it was the cheapest with acceptable reviews. Staff was friendly, room clean, no odors. Motel type setup, several buildings, all 2 floors. I liked that, I could drive right up to my room door. Noticeably old but ok for my needs that night. No mini fridge (I did not need one but some people might)

Parking was fine. The ants were very annoying and according to the front desk personnel the hotel was infested. In other words I was told that there were complaints throughout the hotel about ANTS. So would have possibly spent an unnecessary amount of time moving from one room to another. I really want my money back. I would love to leave a video. Is there somewhere I can submit a video of this mess I walked into?

The room was/is neglected. There is a ant infestation that I had to supply my own ant traps. Room is never attended to. Have to chase down employees for linens and towels. Called the front desk to ask for them and instead of putting me on hold, I was hung up on. Not happy about hundreds of dollars I spent to just have a roof and room. Unreal

I reserved this room for my son with trepidation based on reviews here. My son was going to an event on campus at SUNY Poly (he takes online classes this semester at home to finish his degree) and needed a place to stay. His review was: Mom, thanks so much for getting me a room here. You got me a king sized bed! It’s so comfortable! The hotel is really clean and so close to school. It’s awesome. Thanks Mom. Turns out, all was okay, check in was easy and my son had a wonderful stay.

I liked that the property was quiet and has good parking.
I like the staff; they were very friendly and helpful.
I didn't like the fact that with the price of rooms, there was no microwave, no refrigerator, and no complimentary breakfast or breakroom.
Also dislike that the bathtub was dingy.
And there was a bug in the bedroom; and one in the bathroom.

Overall, this was a decent one-night stay. I generally don’t enjoy staying in properties like this, but we don’t have much of an option on this trip. After getting up to our original room after a last minute emergency booking, we found that the room had never been cleaned from the previous guest. We went back down to get a new room and it was easily remedied—plus we were given a room on the first floor, which I prefer when I am somewhere with no elevator. The room was clean, and I appreciated the lack of gross carpet with hard floors instead which feel like a much cleaner option. The water pressure and hot water in the bathroom was honestly the best hotel shower I’ve ever had and that is saying something. Bed was comfortable enough and the room was quiet, even facing the main parking lot. No frills, no breakfast and nothing special but I would stay again if I needed to. Took off one star for the price because I don’t understand why a red roof with no extras should cost $165 for a night. Seemed very overpriced for what we got.

This hotel is very grungy. Comforter and sheets were very dirty. We couldn’t even take showers because the towels were dirty. People playing loud music outside throughout the night. People also drinking alcohol all around the property. We did not feel safe at all. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
