Overall, we had a good stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable, and everything else met our expectations.

The only issue was the bathtub drain. The water wouldn’t drain properly while showering, so we had to stand in dirty water the entire time. It was unpleasant and something that should definitely be fixed. Aside from that, everything else was good.

We choose this hotel for the pool after traveling all day with a child. We got there and the pool was closed. Should have been notified in the website prior to booking. Also if you’re traveling with a trailer, there’s no parking. The manager did let us keep it in the no parking zone in front of the hotel. But it was an awkward place to park.

Pros: Staff was great! Beds were comfortables, excellent amenities.
Cons: The entire carpet of the hotel needs to be changed. Stained and dirty! Also the bathrooms were not cleaned properly and hair were visible in every location. Also parking is a hassle. The city owned parking garage was closed although it was mostly empty and u have to find street parking. This should be mentioned in the description.

The hotel is situated in a good location. There is a few restaurants within walking distance. The beds are comfortable and the staff is very helpful. My only complain is that there is no free coffee in the lobby. It is nice that they have it in the room but if the housekeeping doesn't clean your room you have to refill on the coffee or cups. Thank for the two bottles of water in the room.

We had high expectations for this hotel, as it carries the Marriott name. The king room suites were very spacious. But the bathroom was unacceptably small. We were also given a room with two queens for one night, but the king is much, much nicer. There is coffee in the rooms, which is acceptable. There is no complimentary breakfast, which is a surprising disappointment. And, an average breakfast was available to purchase, but was too expensive, and not worth it. The bathrooms in the lobby are a mile away from the front desk. And, there were never any luggage carts available. There is a parking garage with very nice pay-to-park parking and a short walk. But they did validate our parking, which we appreciated. However, the other guests at the hotel during our stay were of a very low-class type of person. And, we found that this said a lot about the hotel. All in all, this was an affordable choice for us, as we were just passing through Utica. We ate at Demarco’s Italian Steakhouse, and it was very nice.

Room was in disrepair, cracked window that made it feel unsettling, lock was broken which didn't make us feel safe, as well as the shower was brutal, flooded the bathroom.

Because of my son’s club soccer career, my family has had the opportunity to spend many nights in hotels across the country. We have come to enjoy the Marriott and consider them a high-level mid range hotel. The hotel was lovely. The staff was great and the room was beautiful, however, the the bathtub was less than par. It had several chips all across the bathtub and simply put aesthetically appeared gross. It was operational and functional, but just terrible to look at. It seemed like it belonged in a motel six rather than the level of expectations that I have experienced staying at the Marriott Bonvoy. I did speak with The desk clerk, and she was very understanding and said that she would have maintenance look at it. I will attempt to attach some photos to show you exactly what I am speaking about.

Delta refused a refund!!! I didn’t want a full refund, just the difference in price between the regular king bed room, and a room with a king bed and also a sofa bed. For example right now as I post this it’s $135 for king bed room and $151 for king bed with a sofa bed, $16 but $16 dollars I should not of been charged!!! Not sure how much the difference was that night. I just think it is perfectly reasonable that I not pay for something that I didn’t even get!! But if that’s how they choose to make money then so be it. Sincerely David Keiser Bar and food were fantastic!!! Check in staff also!!!

Came for a competition weekend, first off paid a lot for a room in which I didn’t get the extra sofa coach I needed, getting into our room took forever with the cards would show green then we couldn’t get in several times. Ran out of wash cloths, had to use hand towels as wash cloths. Room was clean, bed was decent.

Half the lights in our room were burned out. The Wi-Fi didn’t work and they didn’t tell anyone. When I called the front desk the just made excuse. The parking garage looks like it’s going to collapse and has been this way for at least three years with no repairs. Staff is willing to help you depending on who you get so it’s a toss up. Overall they need to know their place in the market and price accordingly if they are not going to keep simple maintenance up or provide safe areas for customers to leave their cars. I have stayed here several times over the years due to hockey events and it’s never changed so I am guessing it never will. Next time in town I will go rougue because this isn’t the place for me.

The hotel is poorly maintained, with peeling wallpaper, visible construction flaws. Everything is dated and shoddy. It is not clean. There were crumbs in the chair in our room when we checked in.
The staff was friendly but sparse.

The room was very clean; the bar staff was very friendly and helpful; the food was wonderful including the breakfast in the morning. There was a Birthday party at the pool so we couldn't use it, it would have been great too. The front desk staff was not very helpful, we went to a venue and were out until late, when we got back our key card wouldn't work to let us back into the hotel. I had to knock on the front glass windows several times to get someone to let us in. It was in the negatives so that was not great. When we got up to our room, someone had accessed out room while we were out and left the door propped open with the dead bolt. Thankfully nothing was stolen, but it ended out night and we decided to stay in the room after that instead of finishing our regular plans. When we notified the front desk attendant she said no one was there who could help, then a guy with a coat and backpack on came up and looked around the room. That experience alone was a bit nerve wrecking for an otherwise nice hotel.

The room was very well kept and would have been perfect if we wanted a room with two full beds. We booked a king with a sofa bed and our confirmation said that is what we had.

We were heading to Utica for a short weekend getaway including a Friday night concert. The concert started at 8 and we checked in around 7:15. When we got to the room and noticed it was not what we booked. I went down to the front dest and nothing could be done they had no other rooms. The woman explained Expedia does this all the time.

I called expedia and ended up on the phone for close to an hour, with people who could barely speak and understand english, with no resolution.Expedia offered no resolution and we were stuck in tiny separate beds and the same price as the King room we reserved.

Expedia is a horrible platform for booking your stay and does not stand behind the booking you reserve. The Hotel said they do this all the time and based on my experience i believe them.

It was a nice ro and the people at the front desk was really helpful and understandable they helped me through a hard time i was having this weekend and showed me a good thing and sat and talked to me when i felt down and sad the lady who opened the pool area when i could not get in cause my key did not work was very helpful and really understanding and she even got me extra towels when none was at the pool... the guy who helped me with a paper i had to fill out was very good at explaining it to me and the restaurant food was amazing really good taste and the mixed drinks was good mixed with the good... i really loved my stay and i will he going back soon

I reserved my room 3 months ahead of time as a pay at property and the day before I was due to check in, the hotel charged my card for my entire stay. They advised it was to “ verify the card on file for the reservation”. First thing- if I booked with a third party Hotels.com, this should have been confirmation enough!!!!!! As I was paying at property and it was confirmed at time of reservation. I have NEVER had this happen in all the years of using hotels.com. I was merely compensated $50 for the error AND when brought up to the manager at the hotel all I received was an apology and a supposed upgraded to a king room with a sofa bed, not needed as I already had a king room reserved. I was completely disappointed with this as not even a complimentary breakfast each morning for the 4 days we were there!!!!!

The lobby and front entrance are 5 stars; however, the bathtub in room 304 is chipped and the pipes make a very loud noice upon flushing. Gym treadmills need to be replaced or maintained as at least two are loud. Staff was great and would definitely visit again for a business trip.

I found this hotel through Expedia while traveling through the area. I was impressed with the service provided, the cleanliness of the hotel, and the warmth with which the staff greeted me. The check-in process was efficient, and I also enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The beds at the hotel are very luxurious, and the pool is also lovely.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! I found the area to be convenient and easy to navigate. You are close enough to be able to walk to a few restaurants and coffee shops. I also liked that the Nexus Center and Adirondack Bank Center were very close by and only a 10 minute walk away. My only complaint is the parking situation and how it is $10 per day to park in a parking garage. However the gate to the parking garage is consistently open so you might not even have to pay!
Overall a great stay and I will be recommending this hotel to anyone I know that stays in Utica.

My only critique is the heating inside the hotel, the bad wifi, and no tv service. The hotel was very cold, I even asked the staff if this was normal and was told yes. I had NO wifi and tv service. I tried to connect multiple times to wifi guest with no success. I tried to watch regular tv and i got nothing. I ended up using the Pluto tv app. OTHER than this minor inconveniences, the staff is Awesome, the bar is good, pool was heated which was good, everything is clean and organize. I will come back again in January.

Hotel guests should have free parking so beware about parking situation unless you can find a spot on side street. Bar is over priced, breakfast wasn’t free. I payed over $200 a night and didn’t get anything complimentary. Beds were comfortable, I would say this isn’t kid friendly at all. Only good thing was the rooms were nice.

I didn't receive the check in process that I observed other patrons receive. For example, there is a parking lot that charges $18/day and I was never told that the parking is validated to $10/ day. They never explained the breakfast options or times, they didn't tell me where the gym was, no WiFi information.I was just given a key. I wouldn't come back to this hotel again. They weren't accommodating at check out either. I explained that I had extenuating circumstances and asked for help and Lee intervened in my conversation without asking or knowing the previous conversation that was had and denied my request. I was handled very unprofessionally.
