The property was conveniently located near major routes off the highway. The office park location makes the property feel removed. The complimentary breakfast on-site was convenient as well.

The property is aged, and rooms were not very clean. I requested fresh bedding since it did not appear that the sheets were replaced. The staff expressed that there was no housekeeping staff at the time but that they would leave the front desk to get the bedding. I ended up receiving bedding the following day, after my third request to the front desk.

I stayed here over the weekend for a convention being held at the hotel, CNY-Con. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the amenities (including the attached Beer Tree restaurant where we ate for breakfast, enjoyed drinks and Karaoke and picked up quick meals throughout the day) were excellent, and the location was safe and clean.

10/10 I will be re-booking another stay next summer for the same event.

The staff was very helpful when I change my stay from 3 night to 2 nights. They also were nice enough to change me from a 2nd floor room to the first floor when they found out that I was having a knee replacement.
The ebening after my surgery my sister went to the Bar/Restaurant and was able to get us someting to eat which was very good.
The morning we were checking out we ate the continental breakfast which was just what I needed and it was all freshly made.
Over all we enjoyed our stay at the Burrstone Inn.

My room was clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and professional. The Beer Garden restaurant at the hotel has great roadhouse/pub fare with very reasonable prices and generous portions. The outdoor pool was clean and warm. The included breakfast provided a variety of tasty options. I came for a convention and the staff was very accommodating of all attendees. I will stay here again next year.

Great spacious hotel in an old textile factory. Beautiful outdoor pool. Nighttime entertainment and food. Typical buffet breakfast and plenty of food. Hotel is hidden by lots of trees but with GPS you can find it. One of my favorite hotels.

I left a mouthguard on the night stand. I know where I left it. I called that night, desk person seemed too busy, said she would call me. Never did. I called back-nothing. Oh yeah, there was no hot water for the morning shower. When I called the desk, they were not supervised. At night there were some relatively scuzzy folks at some evening parties. Never again.

First and foremost, the staff went above and beyond for my husband and I throughout our week long stay. I'm dealing with an injury and already have needs that require a service animal and they really made me feel taken care of with a first floor room right next to the doors to the parking lot. The gym was a great spot for my husband to work with his clients virtually and the pool was a nice place to dip after a long day. We honestly haven't enjoyed a hotel stay this much in such a long time. THANK YOU to everyone that made our stay at Burrstone Inn so cozy and awesome! ❤️ Love from Texas!

Apparently this property was a Holiday Inn. Now under new ownership, it appears to be still in the process of conversion.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not a decent place to stay. Rooms are large and clean as are the bathrooms.
Included breakfast is a nice amenity.

Overall a great hotel for our needs. Close to the Stanley Theater. Check in and out process was easy. Clean, helpful staff. Enjoyed the coffee, water and cookies offered in the lobby. Always stay here when visiting family. Breakfast is better than many others (although admittedly always same - eggs, sausage, potatoes, but fixed very well). Bacon and eggs other than scrambled eggs (i.e. eggs to make breakfast sandwich) would be nice. Staff was friendly.

After a few recent stays elsewhere, I was holding my breath. The room was clean and well appointed. Coffee/tea/cookie bar available 24hr. Pool and outdoor lounge are were looking very attractive and lots of space. Restaurant was attached to the hotel. Great breakfast. Definitely will be a go to. Thank you!

The young girl at the front desk was extremely sweet and checked us in fast. Rooms are spacious, coffee in the lobby was a great perk and the onsite restaurant was delicious while being reasonably priced. We stay often while visiting my daughter at Utica University.

When I checked in aside from the check-in staffer, a nice young lady, there was a handyman/maintenance person beside her who was rude kept interjecting into my conversation with the young lady and he was definitely intoxicated, I could've gotten drunk off of his smell alone. This was extremely unprofessional and I was concerned for the young lady's safety as it was late in the evening. I left to a hockey game and came back and he was no longer in the lobby and there was no staff at the desk.

Our room was fine, nothing special. The sofabed was uncomfortable and needed better bedding, also there children running back and forth till late. In the morning we went to get breakfast, options were great. Upon our return to the room to get our luggage I noticed that there was snow under the door and the floor was wet. We had not gone outside so it wasn't from us. I open the door amd there was a child with hands full of snow getting ready to throw it at our door again. There needs to be more monitoring of what is going on. I reported this to the front desk staff since the snow melted in to the rug area on the inside of our room. If you want a quiet place to stay I don't recommend this hotel.

My sheets were ripped and the heating system sounded like a 10 passenger jet ready to take off every time it kicked on. I booked the room to have a quiet undisturbed night of rest, which did not happen.

Your staff was phenomenal!!
Breakfast was good although by the time we got in at 8am some stuff was done, it would be nice to extend to 9:30. Most places end breakfast at 10am every day.
Parking was easy.

Okay hotel. We had a good experience, but we were a little confused why it is rated so well. The rooms are a little dated and could use a paint job. The staff were helpful but not exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast tasted pretty much like every other hotel. The definition of four stars. Okay in a pinch but not a hotel worth driving out of your way to visit.

Room was good but thermostat didn't seem to work well. Put temp to 66 at night, but it was still warm. Turned it down to 60 with no change. Very warm in room making sleeping difficult. Bed was a bit soft but that is a matter or preference. We actually stay here frequently when visiting family in area, and will stay again.

This hotel exceeded my expectations! I requested a pet room, so I was on the first floor. The room was surprisingly clean and fresh smelling with no signs of prior furry friends. The staff was friendly and very accommodating to several unusual requests, including finding practice space for our quartet. The breakfast area was clean and the food better than average. Coffee was plentiful. And the price was right!

I really did want to like this hotel. I had very high hopes. Unfortunately, from the moment we checked in, we were provided a key card to a room that had not been cleaned since the guest prior to our arrival. The bed was unmade, and there was trash on the floor. There was a half empty Starbucks cup on the counter. We immediately left and returned to the front desk to get our new room. The new room was better, but then just as we were about to go to sleep at least four times that night a fire alarm went off we were told there was no need to worry because the pipe had burst. Well unfortunately, this continued to go on, even into the next day. Then we had to deal with the smell of marijuana coming out of one of the rooms down the hall. It was disgusting We had signed up for a second night to stay over and once again the next morning, the fire alarm went off again. By then we just had enough and we left. We didn’t even stay over the second night at all. We left at 3:30pm in the afternoon. It was awful. I wish I could get my money and my time back.

We had a nice stay. The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was in great shape. The staff workers that we interacted with were warm and helpful. My only complaint is that when we checked in and when we checked out, there was no one at the front desk. At check-in, we had to wait a bit, and there was no way to call for someone to come.

I booked this hotel the morning of my trip from Brooklyn to Utica for work. A blizzard warning came up unexpectedly, and for safety, I had to leave Utica immediately without checking in. I called Hotels.com and the hotel to request a refund or at least a credit for a future stay since I’ll be traveling to Utica often.
The manager’s response was shocking: “You should have checked the weather.” No empathy, no flexibility—just rudeness. This attitude shows they value $150 over guest safety and long-term loyalty.
If you care about being treated with respect and understanding, do not stay here. There are plenty of hotels that prioritize their guests’ well-being—this is not one of them.

I agree with the review given on our last day at 3am. The experience was not well received. The kids hockey families were there creating havoc with kids unsupervised running and playing in the hall with nets and hockey sticks. The gym room was full of unsupervised kids. Parents in the bar with beer buckets with their own agenda while kids again on the pool table with hockey sticks. View your video footage from the the time we were there. Security was lacking staff was minimal and overwhelmed with the chaos going on. In their defense, they were great with what they had to deal with. Would not recommend staying again for us or anyone. Obviously management was in it for the money 💰.

All of the staff people were friendly and helpful. The restaurant option was helpful and the breakfast was pretty good. Interior was always well lighted and clean. I could not find one thing wrong with my room lol.

What didn't I like? The morning we left early, it was still dark. There was no lighting under the front entry or in the parking lot. 6:00 a.m.. You need to adjust your timers.
Overall an exceptional hotel.

No smiles to greet from any of the front desk staff, either at check in or check out. Key cards wouldn’t work - had to have maintenance come fix. No one in Beer Garden to hand us a menu or seat us, and the place was freezing. Pillows need replacing - lumpy and mashed down, and looked as if there were standard pillows in king sized cases. Almost all the doors on second floor were splintered looking - as if they’d been kicked in at some point. Place could definitely use some sprucing up.
Breakfast was ok, but tables in the room were sticky, as if they hadn’t been wiped off.
Very disappointed after the reviews I read.

This hotel is in serious need of attention. Many of the common areas were visibly dirty, with stains on both the floors and walls. In one hallway, I noticed a fire alarm hanging loosely from the wall. This was just one of several safety violations I observed as someone who trains others in OSHA compliance.

My initial room (130) had clear signs of water damage on the ceiling and felt damp throughout. Worse, I discovered spiders crawling on me while I slept and found spider egg sacs in multiple corners. I was moved to Room 128 the next morning, which didn’t have the same spider issue, but was still damp, had a strong mildew smell, and dirty floors.

Although I wanted to check out early, the city was completely booked due to a local event. This made the experience even more frustrating.

The general manager, or the woman I believe to be the general manager, was unprofessional. She repeatedly sat in the back office and refused to assist waiting guests when the front desk clerks were away helping others. On one occasion, another guest and I waited nearly 10 minutes before she reluctantly came out to assist us.

On my checkout day, I requested a late checkout due to a delayed flight and was told I had to pay $40 because “the hotel was really busy.” As a Choice Rewards member who had dealt with multiple issues during my stay, I found this response especially disappointing.

The only reason this review isn’t a 1-star is because the evening and morning front desk clerks were amazing
