This was my first time staying at this hotel. The room was small but very clean. Most of the time, you didn't see the staff, but they were there immediately when you needed help. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, such as Ms. Mira. The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient to go anywhere, with a 24-hour convenience store downstairs. It's a two-star hotel, but all the services and facilities are better than a three-star hotel. At this price, I've never seen a better hotel; it's absolutely excellent value for money! For sure come back again for my next trip in Hong Kong.
Please note : they have 9F and 6F, higher would be better!

The room is small, but it's ok to me because the price is still attractive. However, the room has LOT of ants, and they came out during daytime and nighttime. Terrible. Worst was that the Water Tank had water leaking. Staffs say I kept the ON switch for too long. However, my experience was that the ON switch needed to be stay on for sometime to heat up the water. Once the water was hot enough, then, water started leaking. So, my experience was spending all my time to fight with the leaking which made my cloth wet and luggage wet. Staffs admitted that the water tank was damaged and should be replaced. Hence, this was a terrible experience.

We found bugs in our bed on our first night. We were met with attitude when we confronted the staff and reluctantly got an agreement for a refund when we mentioned the videos we have - A refund that I have not yet received. The sheets also had yellow stains and the general cleanliness was subpar. Location is good, but you can find better rooms, maybe without bugs.

You get what you pay for

Good location, very convenient for bus routes MTR, and shops.

The hotel rooms themselves are converted from a flat. Rooms are cramped, and poorly finished. The wallpaper was peeling in my room, and a very odd (obviously damp smell) coming from the walls. Ants were periodically marching through the room too.
Disappointingly my bedding was never changed, just tidied. Fresh towels were provided, but toilet roll was never replenished. The TV was also insecurely fastened to the wall. Someone had also graffitied on the shower glass to complain about the room!

I'm unsurprised the hotel was not very good due to the low price. However, some DIY, care and attention could really increase the overall stay of the people at the hotel

This is my third time staying at this hotel. I have a clean, comfortable room for a reasonable price that is located close to everything, and the MTR and buses are right around the corner. The staff was great, and it is located in a safe building.

I stayed for 28 nights, and once before for 9 nights. The hotel is located in a residential building and is safe, clean, and convenient. The staff was helpful and the room was clean and well maintained. The trains and buses are nearby and right in the middle of restaurants and shops. A great value.

- The bathroom is shared with multiple hotel rooms, and was not listed
- The hotel is not an actual hotel, but a single room within an apartment
- The unit was infested with bugs
- The room we checked in was being used as a storage room, as we found bug-infested belonging scattered all around the room
- The place was dirty, and mold was found around the unit
- Sheets were not clean
- Charging ports did not work

This is not a hotel. So we don’t have any hotels services. No cleaning service, most of times, there are no receptionist at the counter. I tried to find them at the counter for a long time when we want to check out. No body there. The room is very small that is not suitable for four people to live in. I am very disappointed and will not make a booking in this hotel in future.

Initially finding the place was very difficult as it was in a block of flats with no external reference to the Galaxy Hotel. The door was a pin entry security door and I was never at any point in the booking process given the pin number. The security guard within is not there to open the door for you as was made clear on a note inside. Once in I found the hotel and after checking in was promptly led back out to another hotel a couple of minutes across the road. Again, a pin door entry that I was not given the code for. My single room was very small and had no windows at all - like a cell - except they do have windows! The wi-fi never worked either and the whole first impression was terrible. I asked for a room move and they were full so this was refused. With 2 nights of an 8 night stay to go, I managed to move rooms to one with a window and this was much better.Again the wi-fi didn't work but I had more channels on the TV even though this room was right next door to my last!! The new room had no fridge whilst the other did and it is clear that the rooms are not of a consistent quality amenity wise. Overall the rooms were dated, tired and quite dirty (especially the shower part). Electrical plugs were loose on the walls and in my first room I turned on a light and the power shorted out. Using the TV or charging my phone resulted in a couple of occasions where the power tripped. Luckily the fuse boxes are obvious within the room to reset. Not recommended for long stays.

Small but central.

When I found the hotel in Causeway Bay I was then told I was staying in the new place because it was quieter. It was quieter.
New place is 10mins walk from original place but equal distance to MTR.
The double bed would not have comfortably slept 2 people and my feet touched the wall when lying in it and I’m 5 foot 5. Something to ask or check about when booking.
Space is small and the shower was over the toilet - literally. So towels etc had to be removed before showering because the whole bathroom became the shower.
The Area is very central and lots happening in Causeway Bay all the time.
The hotel is on the cheaper end of budgets but if you need the space because you are tall etc I’d check with them what room you get - but that may be the case with all Central HK hotels as space is at a premium

Was booked for a 5 day stay. Day 1 was given a triple room and told he next day I would be moved into a double room. Next day as I had an early morning meeting I packed everything up and asked staff to move my bags to the new room. 11:00 came back to change and rest before my next meeting only to find my old room not available and told check I’m yone for my new room as 2pm. I complained stating here were empty rooms available I booked 5 days why must I be without a room for 3 hours. Told I had to wait, so attended my next meeting inappropriately dressed. I needed to extend my stay by 3 days and did so through a separate new booking. Called the same manager to try and facilitate a smooth transition or if I could simply stay in the same room. Manager seemed not to understand and told me I had to check out and wait again until 2pm, when I tried to explain she hung up on me. On the day of checkout though plenty of rooms where empty I was again told I had to check out by 11 and wait until check in at 2pm. After complaining about my treatment day one and now I was still told sorry have to wait. Cleaning staff then approached me an hour later to say I could move into my room. Final point day one the toilet water wasn’t working and I was told it was the whole building but would come back on that night. It did not and only came back on day 7 of my 8 day stay. It’s a budget hotel in a good area nevertheless it was an unnecessarily bad experience due to poor front desk staff attitude.

It is only the location that is near the MTR exit and near the end point of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon.

The cleaniness could be better as everyday I can catch a couple of small croaches. Then the heater or the water is not consistant. Fridge is actually quite dirty. There are losts of stuff underneth the bed as storage.

The hotel is located in the heart of Wan Chai, so lots of places to shop and eat and walking distance form bus stop and wan chai train station. the rooms are some what clean but very limited space. we went with kids and struggled. the shower is on top of the toilet. The wall papers are pealing off and seems moldy.

The hotel is on the 6TH floor of a building. There was no signs or hotel names in the ground floor or at the building gate so took us a while to find it.

The check-in was not what I expected because the hotel staff said that they were full and brought me to a new location 8 - 10 mins away from the original hotel location displayed in Hotels.com. Still in Causeway Bay. It was scary and i mainly wanted to be sure that I was being brought to a legal location. This was assured. The room turned out to be legal, clean and comfortable with a nice bed, decently furnished. Small but that's expected of Hong Kong.

I was told that I would have 2 rooms with a Queen bed and a twin bed.
However when I check in I got 2 rooms with 2 twin beds only.
Myself being more than average in size, and my son being the same,
the beds were just way to small.
I had very little space on the bed to sleep and my son being bigger than
myself had even less room.
Other than that let me say that the staff was very pleasant and very
acomdating.

I have stayed at the Galaxy before, I found it Small but clean but having a double bed and a window without much of a view, as a single traveller, I need to sleep shower and charge my batteries for which this was fine. I had read reports that the beds were hard which I had ignored after my first visit.
My second visit was in a single room in an adjacent building. The room was smaller but served its purpose, though the bed was very hard and made a horrible noise when you got on it (it seemed to be a metal scraping on a tiled floor. The room had no windows so you couldn't see if it was night or day, it really needed a clock to give you a clue. The room was clean and compact and had TV, shampoo and body wash and was cleaned every day. It also had the use of a balcony which was quite relaxing

Hot water in a cold winter night is the minimal need for a hotel bed. The worst happening is that hot water stopped after a few minute while I have put soap on my body. Even worse case is the response of the staff who is so impolite and insist that I do not know how to turn on the switch for the hot water boiler. I would never come back to this hotel.

No frills, excellent location

Average size for HK. Nicely decorated, no frills room. Close to everything... Shopping, bars, restaurants, MTR, ferry, tram, business district. The price was a bit high, but seems that every one was in HK on business the week after new year and prices were going up by the minute.

The location is just perfect. In the middle of busy shopping area of causeway bay. Walking distance to Causeway bay mtr exit E. A lot of food choices nearby. From the balcony, -which is not really a balcony- u can see sea. This hotel has few buildings- mine is located at paterson road, which also near kingston road (the main building which the reception located).
Overall, will def stay and recommend this hotel.
The room is clean, small, but, what can u expect from ‘typical hongkong room?’
The service is good. They will provide daily room service, towel, toiletries and slippers. Even have a small fridge, TV, aircon, window room.

Impossible to find.

We walked in circles for 45 min trying to find ‘hotel’. There are no signs at ground level . None. Even locals and police did not know location. Only found it by coincidence of asking a woman on the street who walked out of the building with her dog. Entrance is on the 6th floor!!!!! ‘Hotel’ is hidden in an apartment building. Even inside building and elevator there are no signs giving directions to the 6 th floor. We only found it by getting the instructions of the lady who lived in the building. Seems they subdivided some apartments into hotel rooms. Rooms are TINY. 8-9sq meter.( or less?) but clean, nicely painted, beds had clean sheets and were comfortable. Bath stall ( it can’t be called a room) was nicely tiled and clean.

It's Causeway Bay in Hong Kong. Don't expect spacious layouts. It's a clean place to sleep. Nothing more, nothing less. It was a bit difficult to find. I think the front desk was on the 6th floor of one building and the room on the 9th floor of another, but I guess that's not a big deal. Beds are firmmmmmm. Hopefully you sleep on your front or you back. Side sleepers will not be comfortable.

the room is too small our suitcases cannot even fit , no space to put our clothes we need to be resourceful , even under the bed we thought we can put our shoes but no space they store their supplies underneath . we cannot even walk inside just standing up. The bath room is so terrible ! every time we take a shower everything got so wet , the towels and the commode and it flooded too, so we need to put our clothes outside the bathroom.the room is not worth for $107.61/nite it should not be called HOTEL .The advantage is the location w/c is near to MTR( subway station)

You get what you pay for, in this case nothing much. You will have to check in a building different from where you will be staying. Look out for some of the pictures posted already for directions. First off to label this as a hotel is very deceitful. You wait to check in at apartment building and the manager walks you to another building 15 min away.
The rooms are small and very dirty. There is no hot water in the shower (which is in the same space as the toilet). Room wreaked of cigarettes and smells like sheets have not been changed. The manager/owner was very rude and cheated us out of two nights hotel booking charging me again for a prepaid room. Please do not be foooled by the price and locations this hotel is a scam and should be reported. Terrible experience!

Causeway Bay is a major shopping center.

Bed too small, single room cramped, but overall terrific value for its location. The tram is only a couple of minutes walk away, so I could ride for HK$2.30 all the way to Sheung Wan. The staff member I dealt with was considerate, and room cleaning was satisfactory. The only real problem is that single rooms at Galaxy are too small.

Other than that, overall review is 'Poor'.
It's residential apartment with narrow lift, narrow walkway, narrow bedroom with not very clean bedding, narrow toilet with mouldy smell.. Felt very pressurised once entered the room.
Make me couldnt stay in room to rest longer as I wished to.

Perfectly adequate

As long as you read the reviews and know what to expect, this place is fine. It is not the Ritz. It is not even a Howard Johnson. It's a tiny little place on the 6th floor of a grimy building in the middle of one of the most glamorous parts of town; a building which clearly houses several hotels and hostels like this one. It has no identifying marks--you have to buzz the 2nd flat on the 6th floor to get access, and you'd never know this from looking at the hotel page on Expedia. The location is absolutely great--less than a minute walk from Causeway Bay station on the MTR, and right near all manner of high-class shopping. The property itself is clean, but not in very good repair; it puts up a good front, but at least in my instance the sink leaked badly and the shower/bathroom door didn't seal very well, and the door's key reader was out of order, so I had to borrow the hotel's master key for that door. Walls are also paper-thin and you can hear everything going on in the hallway and the other rooms.

None of this detracted significantly from my enjoyment of my trip, and I might even stay here again if I'm in town, as the price is right. The bottom line is: I'm used to sleeping in net cafés in Tokyo, and this was a clear step up. It didn't violate my standards, but it may not live up to yours.

On taking shower, water flew out of shower room and room. Although I requested to change room, they did not accept it. Also, the room is too small...

Budget friendly

Good location, budget friendly and basic. The rooms are clean but it is tiny. The wi-fi was terrible. It kept cutting on and off.

Not so much a hotel more like a hostel.

If you don't mind small and you are looking for a place to stay close to everything then this is it. Luckily the weather was great and it allowed us to be out all day everyday or it would be very uncomfortable there. As long as you are there just to sleep then you won't mind it at all.

very convenience close to MTR sta & shopping mall.

The bed is clean and room facilities is good but they put a lot of thing as a store room under my bed.
The other room where my daughters sleep the bed is also clean but the floor is dusty (that was the purpose the slippers were provided) but they got itchiness and bug bites on their bodies and feet.
Although the floor has black tiles but i can feel it is dusty, they do not mop or vacuum daily.
Other than that, everything is ok. The staffs are very polite and helpful.
The location is very convenient, close to MTR station and near the drop point of shuttle busses from and to the airport.

Room without a view

Difficult to locate, and impossible to get access without someone actually letting you into the building. Room was too small. TV channels very restrictive with virtually no choice other than a Chinese PR channel.

Great location!

The staffs were polite and helpful. The shower was cramped. The kettle plug didn't fit the socket. Location is fantastic. Generally good, would return to stay.
