I stayed at The South Pacific Hotel in Hong Kong for 4 nights. The hotel is in a great location, a few minutes from Causeway Bay metro and local trams or buses. It is very clean and there was housekeeping every day. The room was very small and the tiny cupboard meant I couldn’t unpack. I marked this hotel down because it has the hardest, most uncomfortable mattress ever. Most reputable hotels can provide mattress toppers but they don’t. They clearly don’t take cognisance of reviews because a number of others have mentioned this. I wouldn’t return to this hotel because it’s basic function is to provide a comfortable sleep and unfortunately the South Pacific didn’t; a shame because they could easily fix that!

I had a wonderful experience during my stay at this hotel. The room was spacious with a sleek, minimalist design that made it feel modern and comfortable. The amenities provided were more than adequate, including toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.

Check-in was smooth and pleasant, thanks to Celia at the front desk, who was very helpful.

The hotel is located just a short walk from Causeway Bay MTR Exit A and Times Square. It’s surrounded by fantastic eateries and popular shopping malls, making it an ideal spot for both convenience and exploration.

Overall, it’s a great stay!

2 beds make a king

Stayed in a room with a king bed. Bed was 2 singles pushed together so there was a join and isn't very comfortable for anyone wanting to sleep in the middle of the bed

Hotel staff were fantastic. Attentive and always welcoming with a smile. Housekeeping staff was excellent and very nice. Offered to keep me with my luggages when she saw me struggling. It’s a shame I didn’t get her name because she should be recognized.

Location is very convenient, walking distance to Times Square, which means walkable to MTR, Food and shopping.

The only down side is that this hotel seems really ‘old’, like it needs a renovation asap. I get extremely grossed out when I see black dots in corners so it took a lot in me to look away. Especially if you bend down to see the sides of the vanity, you can see quite of bit of mold. I’m not OCD but that was really gross.

Overall, the staff were fanatic and location is very convenient. I will not consider coming back due to the conditions of the bathroom unless they are renovating. (Not an issue with house keeping, just the age of the room itself)

Customers should be aware that this hotel charges HKD 10 per day per luggage for storage even for short term. We leave for a one week tour and will be returning. Most hotels allows short term luggage storage for returning customers. However, This hotel charges. Customers just need to be aware of this practice and plan as such.

I stayed 2 nights in the hotel. Staff are polite, friendly and helpful. It is in a convenient location while with 5- 10 minutes walk to very central shopping are like Times Square and Sogo etc. the property and rooms and a little bit dated but still good in cleanness. Room size, bathroom setting and Wi-Fi speed are acceptable. Value of money if you are not looking for luxury in accommodation.

The shower drain was clogged, the hot water take a long time to come in the morning and by the time it finnaly reached my room the shower place was overflowing as the drain did not take the water away as fast as it came down. Also toilet has those electric seats that makes it too small for anyone that is not a short Asian person.
I know this hotel, stood there many time sbefore but maintenance is lacking and sowing.

Great boutique hotel located between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. I had a late afternoon flight out and front desk was very accommodating with late check out. Unfortunately, facilities need to managed more carefully - the bidet in bathroom was out of order. Since my last visit, the exercise room was changed to cardio only - no weights at all - so I probably won't return.

THE REMODELING THEY DID OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS TOOK OUT THE BATHTUB FOR A CHEAPER SHOWER AND THE OLD 20 YEAR RUGS ARE STILL IN THE ROOMS !!!

Hotel room rates are a reflection of the location, total room size (sq. ft.), age of the facility and amenities provided. Given all of these considerations, I did enjoy my recent stay at the South Pacific Hotel in Wan Chai, and feel that the room rate paid was reasonable for that area of HK. The staff was also very helpful, when their assistance was needed.

Hotel has dropped its standards.

Have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 10 years. Have always loved it's location. When I first stayed here the hotel was a little dated, but to their credit they have made some noted interior decor improvements in the past few years. But the hotel price increases today now reflect this, and sad to say the hotel now is overpricing itself relative to the services it offers. My last trip was for a 3 night stay, and for 2 of those nights their hot water supply was of the standard you would expect from a 1 star hotel. No hot water at all on the first night, rang hotel services and after running the tap for half an hour (enough to fill Victoria Harbour) we finally got hot water online. Same fate the 2nd night, so as I was running late for an appointment as it was, leaving the hotel after a cold shower was well below expectations, and not what you should expect considering this hotel markets itself in the 3 to 4 star range. A major disappointment to be honest. Perhaps spending a little more money on capable hotel plumbers and engineers, rather than superficial interior upgrades should be their priority. Also some minor details missed by hotel cleaning services meant a shortage of towels one night, and as well as no tea and coffee supplied another night. Again 2 more phone calls to hotel services staff. Sadly inadequate level of services from a hotel I have enjoyed many times over the past 10 years. Hope to see this hotel improve it's standards before my next trip to HK.

This place is nearly perfect to me! Everything was just right for me. I also got a nice city view. Plus the room offered a free mobile phone for guest to use outdoor. It was a nice surprise, did help me since I didn’t have any phone with me. Only think to suggest is I wish it was a touch cheaper:-)

Hotel is clean and neat however it’s pretty old. Our deposit wasn’t return to us or cancelled (credit card) during our check out. Only after one week from the Credit Co after clearance. Strange practice.

Good hotel in a crowded area

The hotel is conveniently located close to many shops and eateries. As I had gone to watch a Table tennis Tournament at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, it was close enough . Food at the Japanese restaurant was quite good and the staff were helpful. The room was a bit small and the furnishings dated.

Need to improve the lighting control switches

Convenient location, steps to various shops & restaurants. Hotel needs to improve the lighting control system in room. The flat electrical switchboard is a stupid device which controls most of the lights & the TV. However, I can hardly find it in darkness. Suggest to install wall socket near the bedside for client to charge mobile phone.

Room was cheap for its category in this location. The telly was a little small and some cigarette and unpleasant smell in the toilet even though it was on a non-smoking floor (tbf Im quite sensitive to the smell of nicotine in particular). Overall for the price couldnt complain much.

Nice place for the money

Overall was a great hotel for the price but I had a room near the elevator so I could hear them running. The internet was also sometimes a little slow. It could have been my location to the elevators that caused that. The bed was not very comfortable, a bit hard.

1st time in HKG

1st time in Hong Kong and I was happy with my selection. Nice hotel and staff. Room a lit bit smaller than expected, specially the bathroom since my husband is 6'4 but we have travelled all over so we knew it was going to be smaller. Nice stay... no complaints! Very close to Time Square and therefore the MTR (5 mins). I'll definitely stay here again!

This hotel is right there at the Tong Luo Wan (Times Square) area, very busy but next to everything, good restaurants nearby and shopping mall, and also close to the subway station. Overall it was pretty good stay because you can't expect too much in Hong Kong hotels unless you are staying in Shangri-la or something.

Affordable nice accommodation in causeway bay

My room 2805 was on the top floor and was position very near the lift , so i can hear the lift mechanism operation even while sleeping . Room is very clean and quite spacious (toilet with a bath tub) for hong kong standard. Was given a smoking floor even though requested for non smoking room. But the level of cleanliness is acceptable and the room comes with a Sharp Air filter which helps in the air quality of the room. My room has a limited view of the the victoria harbour even though blocked by the nearby buildings but it's still nice to be able to have a sea view. Overall a pleasant stay. Will return to this hotel if i go back hong kong. Walking distance to causeway bay time square about 15 mins walk through the wet market alley.

A tiny Oasis in Wan Chai

Stayed at South Pacific for 5 nights. Location is great and only a short walk to the many traditional mom and pop shops and Times Square Mall. The hotel is under going some renovation and the noise is only during the day and barely noticeable. The bath tub has been replaced by a standing shower complete with rain shower. A small box of cookies was provided as a welcome gift. A handy phone was provided free for guest to use. Only wish was that there were more TV channels including sports and movies and music. Overall, a comfortable stay for the budget paid. Credit to the hotel management for making continual improvement. Would also be helpful if the staff manning the front desk smile more and are more welcoming.
