Room was clean, but old and really really tiny. Both beds were side by side so you'll need to climb up onto the bed. Only 1 tiny table, so the rest of us had to live out of our suitcases. Housekeeping standards differed daily, so blankets and towels, etc, differed daily too. Location was marvellous. Goid for short stays.

I stayed at one of the S Signature rooms. Never have I felt so much at home at a hotel. After a long tiring day, I would yearn to return to the hotel, take a nice steamy shower in the spacious sauna-like room, stretch out on the comfy bed, and slowly drift off.

Not only is the design of the very sleek, it's also very pragmatic, with optimized spaces for practical use. The adjustable bright lighting and mirrors make the room feel noticeably more spacious and open. Everything is clean and in great condition.

Last, but not least. The staff and services are amazing! They're courteous, but also extremely warm, welcoming, and helpful.

I would definitely return.

I have been a guest many years visited more than 6 times No facility, floor carpet, furniture and old no change since the day i supported the hotel. Staff not welcoming with no reception counter and limited waiting area. Sitting at their cafeteria is not allowed even with our bags due to limited space at their small lobby. Very unwelcoming feeling with no guest or customer service provided and worst not a smile during the 5day stay. This hotel require serious makeever and service oriented priority !

The room was ok, the bed was comfy, but the room did feel incredibly dated.

Normally these things wouldn't be a problem for me, however, I saw roaches on two separate occasions in my room, and when I called reception they didn't seem to care. Furthermore, after the hours of darkness, a large number of suspicious individuals, I believe to be prostitites, were around the hotel, and guessing from the noises, using it as a base of operations. I will not stay here again and can't recommend it

There were some issues with the room when I arrived (it hadn’t been cleaned since the previous guest) and the key with the new room, which I appreciate is not really a big deal but overall it just seemed that the rooms were not clean. The cleaners also, on different days, hoovered the hallway early morning and asked to clean my room at 8.30am - which is odd considering there were hairs and dirt everywhere. Although the location is good and easy to get everywhere, the lack of cleanliness was an issue

Take note their highest-priced Urban Studios are located on the 1st floor. Although the interior finishes were newly renovated, these rooms' fresh air intake is very close to the street level. We stayed a total of 7 nights and ended up changing rooms 3 times (all Urban Studios) because of cigarette smoke, sewer smells and restaurant grease exhaust being sucked into the rooms from street level. There were either staff taking breaks around midnight or guests who smoked before bedtime, so it was a nightly routine that cigarette smell would fill the room. By 9am every morning, the room would smell of grease exhaust from the bakeries and restaurants nearby. The only way to somewhat alleviate the odours was to crank up the air conditioner, which as others mentioned, does not provide heating in the winter. Expect strong cold drafts all over the room while sleeping. In addition, the rooms have exposed ceilings and as others mentioned, water flowing through the pipes can be heard throughout the night. There were also some loud bangs heard in the middle of the night which we suspected came from an in-house commercial laundry or garbage pickup. Floors and showers were generally clean, but not the platforms for the mattresses and large window sills. Take note the hotel is located in one of the oldest areas of Hong Kong Island. There are lots of tradeoffs for being located close to food and shopping in Causeway Bay. Multiple towels had holes in them.

Great location being under 10 minutes walk to Times SQ and msny buses to Central right in front of the hotel is a plus. Will try the Signature Room on mext visit but not the high floors.The rating wàs for the old rooms if Signature Room which I have seen would be 5 Star rating.

I encountered a disappointing experience during my stay. I want to clarify that the staff were all friendly and helpful, especially the cleaning staff, who were particularly accommodating. However, the hotel should prioritize addressing some fundamental issues, such as replacing worn carpets and ensuring that all cupboards are functional. Additionally, the absence of bedside charging points was inconvenient. It would be beneficial for the hotel management to concentrate on these basic maintenance standards.

Baby cot is quiet small, only suitable for baby or toddler under 2.

A good property at a good price but a few things that don’t take a lot to fix came up short:
It was quite cool at night and on requesting an extra blanket they appear to have none… in an established HK hotel?
The aircon didn’t heat and was loud.
The room was near to the elevators and a constant humming could be heard.
Otherwise the property was fine.

We booked a room for 4, it has an outside door, which required a room key to open, then 2 separate doors within. It felt like they were 2 separate rooms which was nice because of the generous size. However, they put us on the 1st floor and the gym was on the 3rd, kind of weird. We heard the water pipe running all night and there was a bright 'Exit' sign above the 1st door which we could not turn off, the rooms were not dark even though all the lights were turned off, very annoying. Oh, there was no check-in counter, they had a table against one of the walls with a laptop to check customers in. Overall it was not too bad other than running water noise throughout the night (the ceiling was open and pipes were exposed) and a very bright 'Exit' sign in the room.

The location is very convenient. The area is lively and safe. It's super close to tram station and walking distance to Time Square and MTR stations. There are may food options nearly from street food to nice restaurants. Staff was courtesy and the check-in, check-out processes are very fast and smooth. You can leave your luggage there after check-out until you're ready for your flight. My room was much older than what's shown in the picture on the booking site. Shower water was a bit slow and not very warm.

Worst hotel in Hongkong

Let me start by saying I’ve never written a review for anything in my 30 years of life, after my experience at this hotel I felt I had to. Worst hotel I’ve stayed at in my life! No front desk, the staff that are downstairs are useless and extremely rude. Falsely advertised in hotel laundry, was not available. The WiFi never worked in my room only the lobby, complained and tried connecting multiple times on multiple devices, no luck. Outlets would randomly stop working not allowing me to charge my devices half the time. Upon checkout I requested late checkout by a hour to have some more time to pack and they yelled at me saying it’s “impossible” I checked out on time and was hanging out in the lobby for maybe 30 minutes waiting for an Uber and charging my phone, the useless 3-5 employees they have loitering in the lobby kept harassing me asking when I’d leave and practically kicked me out of the hotel, never in all my travels across the world have I experienced such a horrible attitude and service. Wouldn’t stay here again if they paid me.

I have a few concerns with Charterhouse Hotel. 1. They don’t provide bottles of drinking water like every other hotel does. That is outrageous. 2. Checkout is 11:00 am. Inconvenient and too early. 3. They charged me twice for a one-day stay. I have to wait two weeks for a refund, and if I don’t receive it I need to take further action.

It is an old hotel that needs urgent attention for renovating.
The only thing that you are given is new sheets, towels and body soap! Nothing else!!
I caught the chek in clerk hand coping the back of my credit card. I yelled at him and snatched my card back off him. He couldn’t explain to me why he did it. 😬🙄

I had been to Shenzhen the days in Hanyoung Hotel it was in 450 RMB and far-far luxurious.

If you plan to take the Airport bus, you need at least 10 to 20 min walk depending on the amount of luggage you have. No matter if you take the airport bus to the hotel or back, there are some ways to take. I didn't see any options on Expedia to book a shuttle bus to and from the airport though.
We had a booking for a family room on the 12th, our plane arrived 23:50 so when arrived it was almost 2 am on the 13th. We had a booking for the bunk bed for the 13th to 16th. I ask if can upgrade free of charge, they gave me the upgrade. We didn't have to check out and check back in. I give them give stars for this.

I didn't eat in the hotel but they do have a buffet though. If they offer a free buffet for one day, it would of been great.

This is my second time staying in Charterhouse.

The last night I didn't put the sign outside to clean the room unfortunately some body flip the sign to say don't disturb. Did leave a note since we are in travel mode so didn't come back early. This is why gave them 4 stars.

If staying at bunk bed room, make sure when taking shower your back should not be facing the door or the water will leak out. It seems they didn't seal it tightly.

Overall experience was good. Don't take the airport MTR as you will be changing lines. Take the airport bus is the best way to go.

Older property that definitely needs better cleaning staff. I could tell the floor was not vacuumed because we found hair from prior tenants and nail clippings. Brown material on the bathroom floor I am hoping wasn’t feces. Mold in all of the shower grout lines.
Positives close to MTR, although anywhere in HK is close to a MTR, and low price. Also the gym is ok.

Hotel room ceilling is mouldy making it unfit for dwelling.
No toilet amenities only soap and tissue paper.
Toilet is dirty with mildew at bath tub areas.
No daily replenishment of water.
Room fixtures and furnitures are broken, dusty unusable.
Room floor carpet is soiled and dusty.
No front desk reception at lobby only a make shift table for check in at level 2.
TV is the ONLY thing that works.

Didn't try eating here, nor the gym.
Usual size HK room for the money; big enough, but not spacious.
Plus: Easy from public transport (airport bus, MTR exhibition centre).
Service was fine.
Bed linen, towels clean.
Minus: Bed harder than I'm used to.
Big rusty stain on the floor around the toilet
Sound proofing between rooms not great.
Bottled water not replaced each day (but there's a 7-11 about 30 seconds walk away), no tea or coffee (unless I missed them), just a kettle and cups
Overall: acceptable but a bit 'tired'. 2nd floor looked far nicer than 17th floor. Perhaps renovation is ongoing.

Location is good, they have remodeled the lobby to be more useful and setup front desk for check in/out on 2nd floor. However, WiFi is so outdated that practically non-useful. I booked a business room, but can't use my laptop nor smartphone because WiFi is soooo slooow!!! They should ask hotel staff to use guest room WiFi to experience the reality!!!

Good value, great location and very friendly staff

While the hotel is generally dated, very good size room (relative for Hong Kong) and comfortable queen size bed and clean for us. We had a good rate due to early booking. The location is great between the Waichai and Causeway bay MTR. Many dining options nearby from local eateries to great coffee plan and south asian fast food. Lots of other transport options such as tram, buses. The staff is very friendly especially those cleaning our floor. We appreciate the small fridge available for our 2-week stay. However, WIFI access has not been stable as there had been period of time where we were unable to get access to WIFI provided by hotel (likely due to high volume of users trying to access) and should be improve.

Morning check out made easy with help obtaining taxi to airport. Major drawback is very slow wifi made it difficult to open and load up files.

The day after arriving the 3 guest lifts where out of order. After walking down 17 floors to the entrance which was closed due to water pouring from the ceiling.
A hotwater system burst in the gym on the 3rd floor, flooding the floors below and causing damageto the 3 elevators. this left one small service elevator
for all guests and staff. To make matters worse
Reception is on the 2nd floor 6 people & luggage elevator is full. used by the staff servicing the rooms it stops every floor. in the morning' with Guest usage day or evening it was slow between ground floor visits 15min wait common. Informed after asking staff about time for repair they said 2-3 weeks and its Otis Lift

Hotel location is the reason I chose this Hotel. Centrally located in Wanchai road, if you walk out the htl , to your right, you can easily walk to causeway bay and Happy Valley. Tram station can easily take you there if you prefer local transport. To your left from htl, you can go to other part of wanchai or admiralty .you can easily find subway. and you can find subway. Hotel itself is rundown. When I booked the htl, I thought I have a same room that I booked. Not at all. Chkin is on 2nd floor. Staff have no customer service training. One girl particularly (forgot to get her name the one sitting in front of monitor.) she is cold,no facial expression and ruth sometimes. Housekeeping and bellhops are very helpful. I will recommend for location and within my budget only, otherwise, just keep looking elsewhere. Happy hotel hunting!

The location provided many options for food/restaurants and other services. Area is tourist friendly. Staff were knowledgeable if you needed particular information or assistance. Lay Khim

we stayed 7 nights. The hotel is not near to the 2 MTR - causeway bay and Wan chai - but is accessible by buses.
1. it would be better to have smaller size beds instead of queen size beds, as the beds occupy almost the whole unit, leaving very little space for luggages.
2. There is a bathtub for shower.
3. Thin walls and you can hear the neighbours.
4. Place is generally clean.
Overall, ok for the price.

The location of the hotel is accessible to restaurants, shopping arcades, gym, public transporation, supermarkets. Everything is within walking distance.
