This is a terrible hotel with bad service. There was a pump going off all night in the room which I told the service staff to fix but they did nothing. oh by the way....the hotel faces a cemetary. Creepy as hell. Don't stay here. Staff are also extremely unhelpful and not very friendly.

The pics of the hotel on Expedia is not quite how it is in reality. Shower was very tiny- standing room only and the shower knob was quite inconvenient. My showers were not comfortable at all.the toilet flush on the last day was continuously flushing. It did not stop.
The air conditioning was either freezing cold or off. There was no adjusting the thermostat. Staff was nice and room was always cleaned properly.
But I would not stay here again.

We booked a quad family room and once we entered we immediately noticed it was very unclean. There was hair and dust left on the toilet, and many stains on the walls and door of the bathroom. There was dust all over the lights as if it hadn't been wiped down for a long time.

We like to wipe down the high touch surfaces when we settle into our room and there was a lot more dirt than we're used to seeing. There was a lot of debris on the floor. We called housekeeping to re-vacuum the floor. There seems to be something wrong with their vacuums because the floor was still not clean afterwards. Finally there was an awful smell emanating from the carpet.

We complained about this and the staff graciously offered us an upgrade to a suite. Upon inspecting the suite the smell was much better but there was still a lot of crumbs and leftover things on the carpet. The overall condition of the suite was much better so we accepted the upgrade, however the condition is still surprising given the status as a suite.

The stay did not feel like a 4 star experience. Our original room was on a lower floor with windows that were effectively blocked out, making the space feel very dark and gloomy — especially as it overlooked a graveyard. It also had two single beds when a double was preferred, and the leather headboard was old and cracked. The room itself felt quite dingy, and one of the plugs didn’t work, and there was very limited space to unpack.

To the hotel’s credit, when we asked to move, the staff kindly relocated us to a higher floor. While the new room still overlooked the graveyard and still had old cracked furnishings, it at least had better light and felt slightly improved. However, this room was missing a bedside table, so electronic devices / water on that side ended up on the floor.

Housekeeping was a major letdown. The room was not cleaned for the duration of the stay, despite leaving a ‘clean me sign’ on the door handle. I even found a used floss stick left on the floor, which was quite off-putting.

Overall, the service at reception was helpful, but the room condition and cleanliness fell short of expectations. If staying here, I would strongly recommend upgrading to a racecourse view room for a brighter and more pleasant experience.

The hotel absolutely does not live up to its star rating! There’s a terrible smell of dampness, it’s dirty, the curtains have clumps of dust, the common hallways are filthy, and the carpet is stained. The air conditioners are loud, and the cold at night feels even worse because of the dampness. Rude front desk staff (we were checked in by Grace). A completely unpleasant place — not worth the stars or the money.

We stayed 10 nights at Dorsett for our first time in Hong Kong. The front desk staff, cleaning and kitchen staff as well as staff outside guiding for the shuttle bus services were nothing but kind and welcoming. Very good location, walking distance to MTR, tram station infront of the hotel as well as the free shuttle bus that runs frequently to very convenient areas.
We loved HK and hope to be back soon!

The room was clean but was missed being cleaned on a couple of days. The location was great as it was close to the tram line and a good walk to the Wanchai train station (MTR).
Having the hotel Bus shuttle was really fantastic as it provided all day access to a number of drop off points on Hong Kong Island.

The Staff and location are great. Staff is extremely helpful. Great location to access transit. They also provide a very convenient shuttle service. Room's are ok. A bit dated and lacking in anything special. Wasn’t really anywhere to eat other than one restaurant which offered very expensive dim sum or very expensive Chinese dinner. When we enquired about dinner the Hostess was extremely rude so we left. I would recommend this place and would stay there again based on location and price.

The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and the waiters and waitress were always greeting with friendly smiles. The location is convenient with some walking to MTR, but they have shuttle bus service that helps a lot. We highly recommend Dorsett hotel in Wan Chi.

Eerste kamer die we kregen had een vreemde geur en bleek een invalide kamer te zijn absoluut niet zoals op de foto’s. Na de eerste nacht aangegeven bij de receptie en Joyce heeft ons goed en snel geholpen ( hotel was vol vanwege een Black Pink concert) en ons een nieuwe kamer gegeven die perfect was. De kamers zijn wel aan de koude kant omdat er een airco aanstaat die niet uit mag en niet aangepast kan worden in temperatuur. Joyce heeft ons voorzien van een kachel.

The room was very dusty which could’ve have been dusted better and aircon was constantly on - housekeeping turned it back on after we left it off, meaning the room was cold - front desk kindly gave us a portable heater, there was air purifiers luckily.

Pro: friendly staffs, free daily shuttle services to airport express and causeway bay. Nice view if you have room looking toward the happy valley race track.
Con: not very clean. Vacumming can be better to ensure the carpet at least look clean. A but dated in decor. Although there are public transportation near it but not the most convenience per HK standard.

There was no mini bar, only a vending machine in the lobby. There was also no room service, but an uber eats type option.
Having an onsite self service laundry was great, although we had to download the Octopus app which cost money as the minimum was more than we needed.
There was no luggage storage, bags were left outside with a rope looped through them, not safe enough for us to leave.

We had a wonderful stay thanks to Kane Ng and his staff. We have stayed several times over the last 15 years and they never disappoint with their hospitality and friendly service.
The only thing I would say is about the breakfast which could have more western food options, other than that the hotel was excellent

Staffs are nice, room is clean. Nice showers, good bed and quiet (even next to a highway). It is a bit tucked away from the restaurants area, subway and the tram only goes one direction. If the shuttle bus runs longer hours and more frequent (central line) that would be more convenient.

I will stay again if the rates maintain compatible, and improve the shuttle bus schedule.

Good location situated right next to Happy Valley racecourse. All staff were friendly and eager to help. There was a hotel shuttle that operated between Central station (where the Airport Express stops) and the hotel which was a bonus after a long flight.

The room and bathroom were relatively spacious, comfortable and clean. Most of rooms are facing the cemetery. The beds and pillows were comfortable.

You have to walk quite a bit to get to restaurants, shopping areas and different kinds of transportation. The shuttle going to Causeway Bay was good.

The mini fridge wasn't cold at all to store foods. We're concerned about food safety.

We had 5 rooms booked and was looking forward to a nice stay. But the moment we got into the room, we were surprise how tiny the room was. Apart from the bed and a table w lamp, there was literally no space to put our luggage. everytime we walk from one end to the other side of the room, we had to move the chair so we would make space. Our luggage had to be placed on top of the table, one at a time when we needed something. it was rediculous that the hotel could offer such hotel room and charge so much !!

I had booked a large bed and was given twin single beds. When asked to put us in another room, they said none are available and suggested for the two singles to be pushed together. Pushing two beds together to make one bed is not ideal as the beds move and uncomfortable to sleep on when there’s a break in the middle. Otherwise room was clean and comfortable.

First, I want to thank the Dorsett for upgrading our room for the last three nights of our stay. Our initial room was quite small for three adults and we very much appreciated the upgrade. Having said that, I have to say it was a disappointment since it is rated as a 4-star hotel. The furnishings are quite dated, the bathroom doors are glass and extremely heavy and awkward to open. The elevators are slow and I saw a small cockroach on the wall at breakfast which was off-putting. Again, we were very appreciative and happy with the upgrade but the hotel needs to be updated and improved. It did not feel at all like a 4-star hotel. Even the lobby seems old and cramped.
