The Alhambra was a sweet, clean, old school hotel on a quiet and charming block very close to King's Cross. The room and ensuite were clean, and under normal circumstances the room would have been fine for adult travelers with minimal luggage. We actually stored our large suitcases at King's Cross and we were so happy we did because it would have been impossible to navigate the tiny staircases with big suitcases, but that's frankly our issue and not the hotel's. However, we were at the Alhambra during the current heatwave in London and the room was so unbearably hot from the sun, lack of circulation, no ceiling fan, and one tiny, weak desk fan I was afraid we would have heat stroke in the room. It was dangerously hot. I know all of Europe is struggling with building design and new extreme heat, but the Alhambra needs to address this for travelers in the summer. Add a window aircon unit, a second more powerful fan, literally anything to address the heat issue before there is a serious health issue in the hotel.

When we booked we didn't realize the \"hotel\" was not air-conditioned. We visited London during a heatwave 95 to 96 degrees 4 days straight.
They did provide 2 fans which helped some.
Room was smaller than I expected. We have bedrooms home that are larger than the combined room and bathroom.
Our shower at home is larger than the entire restroom.
This was more of what I would call a guest house. Not exactly a hotel.

Overall the stay was fine. Staff was great and very helpful.

The room was basic but clean and well maintained. It was just what we needed as we only used it for sleeping on two consecutive nights.
The downside is that it was not very soundproof. the person above was pacing the room from 1am until 5am on our second night. They used the shower at 2:30am. It kept us awake. Not good for a light sleeper and we forgot the ear plugs. Not the hotel fault.

Nice little room. We happened to be there on a 90 degree day, so the fan was appreciated. The food in the front office that one could buy for breakfast was not optimal. Location was perfect! Our room looked over a quiet courtyard and we were so close to transportation hub, including the Eurostar. Thanks!

The room was very clean and had what we needed. Unfortunately it was really hot during our stay and there was only one fan which didn’t really cool down the room enough! The room was on the small side though it was fine for a one night stay. The close proximity to the Eurostar is a v big bonus.

This hotel was amazing for convenience to King’s Cross. However, my husband is 6ft 3 and we were given a basement room. He couldn’t use the shower as it was as small as a cupboard and the shower head reached his shoulders. He could also barely get into the toilet as it was so narrow. We found this very difficult and we could also feel the trains travelling below us. Overall, although it was clean and tidy and super accessible to King’s Cross I would not visit again unfortunately

it’s a 3 min walk to st pancras international which was why i chose it. i had a very quiet room and i couldn’t fault the hotel for my one night stay. i really recommend this place

We stayed for one night as we where going to a concert in Wembley not far from the train station 10 min walk. Had all we needed in the room beautifully clean tea and coffee. Bathroom small but had a lovely shower. Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

A simple, clean hotel which is fine for a single night's stay near Kings Cross. Probably not as a comfortabe on balance as a Travelodge or Premier Inn, but fine and very convenient for the station. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was poorly insulated from street noise in the early part of the night, though noise died down after 11 so not too bad. The window only opened a small amount, which made it harder to cool down the room. The blackout blind was OK but enough light got around the side of it to be disruptive in the summer. The shower was only just good enough in terms of water flow.

Would probably try other options in the area in future, but it wasn't actively bad.

single room newly renovated room very clean staff very friendly and helpful. Very near to major train and tube stations , no elevator if you have large suitcases stairs can be a problem. you have a fan in the room like many of this type of hotel no aircon so it could be warm in the room during summer heat. if you are an extra large person toilet placement could be a challenge. shower is a good size.

The location was perfect for a 6 am departure. The room is very small and the stairwell very tight. Small carryon no problem transporting but big luggages can be an issue as there is no elevator. Also you do not have your own bathroom / toilet as yiu will be sharing with others on the same floor.

Our 6-night stay at the Alhambra Hotel was a rollercoaster of technical issues, severe privacy violations, and conflicting customer service experiences.

The Logistics & Maintenance Issues:
The room space is incredibly limited.
Day 1: The shower water completely shut down mid-use because the water heater reset. With no instructions in the room, we had to find staff to fix it.

Day 2: The electronic door lock battery died, trapping us outside for 30 minutes until staff could manually charge and reopen it. Furthermore, despite leaving the \"Do Not Disturb\" sign on, housekeeping entered and cleaned the room. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, assuming the sign had accidentally flipped when the fix the lock after we left.

The Privacy Violations:
Day 3: We carefully ensured the \"Do Not Disturb\" sign was properly displayed, yet housekeeping ignored it again. Not only did they enter, but they completely rearranged our personal belongings without consent. Our clothes were moved from the bed to a chair, and a heavy suitcase was moved onto a shaky, unstable luggage rack. Housekeeping flipped the orientation of the suitcase, causing the wheels to hit the bathroom door every time it opened.

Additionally, because the shower entirely lacks a shelf for toiletries, we had placed our body wash and shampoo on the floor. Housekeeping moved them to the top of the water heater where they were too high for me to reach. They even hid the provided room fan inside a closet drawer.

Hotel easy walking distance from station. Check-in was straight forward lovely clean room . Only thing I would say room was very compact and towels were a bit small. But we had a very pleasant stay excellent service from start to finish ideal for getting around London we had a very pleasant stay for a packed girls weekend.

Nice b&b hotel with lovely staff & it's on the doorstep of King's Cross station & a nice strip of shops including food. However just a note in case people don't realise the rooms are tiny! And you have to share a communal shower & toilet which is a bit gross as nobody can clean it in between others using it. And no lift available which is exhausting to walk up the stairs. Otherwise nice hotel.

The location is the key factor with the Alhambra. The rooms are strikingly small with no cooling, so you have to put a fan (supplied by hotel) on all night with the windows open (and no screens). Bathrooms are inappropriately small for anyone who is large. Just enough room to turn around, and the sink is in you lap when seated on the toilet. My mattress had a distinct crater in the center that made sleeping uncomfortable. Overall, it had a definate \"budget\" feeling to it.

Very easy access to all means of transport across London and beyond. Street, however, was very quiet which was great.

I would highly recommend this hotel with the reminder to be aware of room size.

Great hotel, great location, very clean and tidy! Got lucky getting a room with a large outdoor patio, however it did feel slightly overlooked. The room was noisy from both guests upstairs walking about and football fans in a nearby pub, but the hotel can’t help this! Toilet had a constant drip. Aircon would have made my rating higher. But other than that, a pleasant stay and was exactly what was required for my needs at a good price point

I needed to catch a very early train, the next morning, from King's Cross station for work, and I had to be in London late on business that day, so this location was excellent for me. It was a little cramped in the bathroom but everything worked and it was clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly so I would definitely pick this hotel again if I was in the same situation in the future.

I'm a world traveler, traveled for the best part of the last 30 years. My girlfriend and I picked this hotel mainly for the location. One of the most uncomfortable rooms I've stayed in. to small to fit 2 people, I ended up sleeping on the floor due to the size of the bed. even the shared amenities where way to small, almost impossible to shower properly.

Value for money was not even close. I'd advice to stay away

We did not spend much time in our room because we were in London of course. I'm giving an overall 3 just because our room was tiny. It felt like a rooming house more than a hotel. The room had everything we needed including a hair dryer and tv. The location was good as it's close to St. Pancras and the Tube. There were several pubs and restaurants in the area as well.

Hotel’s location was excellent as it is very close to the train station and metro line. Note that we were assigned a room across the street from the reception office and that there are no lifts/elevators to assist if you are assigned an upper floor. Room was extremely small and the washroom was smaller than ones on cruise ships. Very limited space to open both of our carrryons and walk in the room without shifting a chair or closing a carryon. My wife and I are small individuals and we could not both fit in to use the sink in the washroom. The room got warm in the evening and we had to keep the window open to cool down the room. Luckily, we visited in early May as the room has no air conditioning. We did see a small portable fan sitting on top of the room’s safe located in the closet. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful .

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and property had appropriate safety protocol so I felt very safe as a single woman traveling alone. The bathroom was very tight but I had a room with an en suite, so I’m not sure if there’s a bit more room with the shared ones. Would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location for Kings Cross and Eurostar - 5 mins walk. Building is clean and tidy, no lift although the staff were amazing, took my bag up the three flights. Room was spotless, catered for everything, kettle, tea, coffee and milk. Bed was super comfortable and whilst l had chosen to have shared shower and bathroom, it was all on the one floor, again it was spotless. Staff were brilliant, accommodating and friendly. I would definitely recommend the Alhambra, despite the stairs for me it was an excellent and very reasonably priced - an absolute bargain in London.

My stay here was a good experience, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They offered a kettle and tea options plus snacks in the lobby area. The train station was easily accessible, we booked because it was right across the street from the Eurostar train station. There are restaurants and mini marts close to the hotel which made our trip smoother.
