I wanted to share some of our feedback of your recent stay at your hotel . Overall, our experience was positive , the staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the food and amenities .
However, I was very disappointed in our room when we arrived. The room was not cleaned bugs and everywhere , hair in the shower and candy in the beds and on the floor.it made the space feel uncomfortable and not up to your usual standards.

the only reason I didn't cancel my reservation upon entering my room is I know it is a pain in the ass to be reimbursed from Expedia for a pre-booked room. the whole place smelled musty and thankfully it was only me and only a room to sleep in. I would never let my family stay at this place, it's really a rundown dump under a fresh coat of paint.

I reserved a room for me and my girlfriend at the Port Clinton Holiday Inn for our trip to Put in Bay. When we arrived, we noticed stains on our bed sheets and many spiders inside of the bathroom. We ended up avoiding sitting things on the corner of our sheets and killed the spiders in the bathroom. Throughout the stay there, we both noticed we were feeling off and ended up with headaches. We didn't think anything of it until we were leaving Friday morning. We noticed that there was black mold inside of the air conditioner in our room. Had we have noticed it earlier, we would have requested another room. My girlfriend also woke up with several bug bites on her legs and feet after sleeping there.

Other than that, the rest of the stay wasn't too bad. The coffee machines were awesome and the breakfast was delicious. We also enjoyed the outdoor area that's on the back side of the hotel. You have to be careful though when sitting at the tables out there due to the amount of spiders all over the place.

The room that we booked (for our family of 5) was not available. We were offered 2 joined room. Pushed all of our stuff down, there was no door between rooms. Back to the desk. Ended up squeezing 3, 9 year old kids and 2 adults in a queen with pull out which meant horrible sleep and zero space. Offered our room for night two which meant more wasted time on our trip packing everything, moving rooms. We were initially told we would be reimbursed entire stay. Bad communication. Told when we were leaving from front desk, price was adjusted first night to smaller room price. Then told 1st night was comped. Couldn't talk to the manager, she was in the building, but \"is sick\". Have not seen reimbursement yet. Hotel was not very clean and smelled of cat urine.

the location is great but I reserved 2 rooms and had a few problems. It took me 2 days of help from front desk to finally figure out tv control. The other room which I needed for handicap purposes was not great. The blinds would not go up so was in darkness all day and night. The refrigerator had to be unplugged at night because it was so noisy and they couldn't sleep.
Because of location I might consider using it again but would think about it

The hotel was very dated and didn’t feel clean. The pool water was almost green and smelled like pee with little to no chlorine smell. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, but that’s about the extent of the good qualities of this hotel! It did the job but we would definitely recommend looking elsewhere first.

The lady at check in was wonderful and patient as I had to go ask several questions and an issue upon check-in. Not sure her name as she had no name tag on. Bathroom upon entering room had urine in it. Areas of bathroom around floor were either water stained or needing replacing. We had an adjoining room. We could hear the baby on the other side crying and the mom yelling at him to be quiet. Breakfast was not the typical taste we are used to at other locations. Eggs had something in them. Sausage had no flavor.
Pool was perfect temperature. Nice view of the lake off the dining area and a place to go outside and sit and enjoy the view. Area was quiet. Close to restaurants and Walmart.

The only issue is the pool room. It’s very very slick and the hot tub is awkward to get to and from pool. Other than that very relaxing.

They’ll steal your money

I booked on hotels.com for a 2 bed queen suite with a pull out couch. Paid 190.98. When we arrived I was told they were out of that style room and we would need to go to a lower room (2 queen beds, NO pull out couch) we wanted the couch since there was 5 of us, but we didn’t really have another option. The front desk girl was nice and said she would only charge me 79$ plus tax (the paradise price) I agreed and we checked in. After checkout I noticed I was charged full price. I reached out to hotels.com several times and was told there’s nothing they can do. Even though when we checked in a signed a paper form agreeing to the 79$ Basically, I paid double what I should have and the hotel and hotels.com refused to make it right. I never asked for a full refund. Just wanted to pay what I was quoted. Anyway, the hotel got and extra 100$ out of me so hopefully this review can help someone avoid the same thing. When I checked out that morning I even asked the new front desk clerk what my total would be and was told that she didn’t know and couldn’t tell me. All around terrible experience.

The staff was very pleasant, friendly & helpful. The hot tub was ice cold on our first day, but they fixed it on the second day. The pool area had fresh new furniture but the area was dark and in need of repair.The lobby was very nice and clean. The breakfast was very good. The housekeeping staff needs to do better. The room smelled musty. There were cobwebs in the shower with bugs in them and also around the bathroom mirror. When they refreshed our room, they left us NO towels. The furniture near the elevator on the 3rd floor is filthy and old. The bed was comfortable and sheets were soft and clean. Nice selection of pillows. Walls are very thin-could hear complete conversation in next room.
