The room was clean and cute. We had a 5 year old with us and she had a blast.
The restaurant on site was just ok, the ice cream place would have been better with either real ice cream or normal soft serve instead of ice milk and the coffee cafe would have been better with real 1/2 1/2 as they served Starbucks and the coffemate was just weird.
As for the water park, the place was small which made it nice for younger kids. However, we went in March and the larger water slides were not open and the Lilly pad rope area was also closed. 3 of the better attractions closed due to not having staff to support them.
Overall, the place was clean, decorated super cute and the staff was all very nice. Just a few tweaks and additional staffing would have made it much better.
Worth going back but we would plan our food out differently.

The problem in this hotel if you have a neighbor, you can hear them. We had a neighbor that they had a child crying all night we could not sleep. It was like an hour room when I ask him to change my room they said sorry we have nothing to do with this and sorry we cannot help you with that.very uncomfortable

i normally dont leave these kind of reviews but honestly what a great hotel. my kids are both under 10 and this was the perfect size hotel for them much easier than getting around kalahari and great wolf is just not as fun. it is incredibly clean and with the small size the workers are very quick to help. it was also very clean i dont think i saw a spot of dirt.

You cannot check in until 4pm and the waterpark closes at 8pm. Doesn’t leave you a lot time to enjoy the park. Also you don’t even get a complimentary cup of coffee when you wake up??! Just a little cheap Kcup in the room would be nice? You can go to the cheapest motel and still get a complimentary coffee. Totally not worth the money you spend….

While the cost to enter is low, everything inside is very expensive, almost prohibitively expensive for my family of six. The room amenities were lacking ie no coffee machine or even free coffee and water in the lobby, no extra towels or bedding in the room, no seating, and most of the TV channels didn't work.

I was so afraid of what our stay would look like from the mixed reviews. But our trip was 100% perfect. The whole family had a great time and we full intend on going back!
Rooms were very clean- NO BEDBUGS! The waterpark was a perfect size. It is smaller than a resort because this is an old hotel with a small waterpark added on. It was not built that way! The views were gorgeous. Parking was easy. Staff was always kind. Life guards were so nice. There were plenty of chairs and towels. My kids enjoyed themselves a lot in the arcade ( it was spotless too). Starbucks available all day was great. Fromt desk got us checked in under 10 mins. If you want an upgraded hotel stay from the norm, this place is amazing.

Room great, breakfast great, lifeguards weren't on the same page on what rules they were enforcing and which ones they're were being meh about. Telling a kid multiple times that's they are tall enough for the pool and then one lifeguard pull said kid out of the pool and says no too short you have to have a life vest on.

First time going to this waterpark. It wasn’t packed at all and room was ready when we got there early.
Room was nice, but for a kids waterpark they didn’t have kid channels for my kids to watch when back in the room.
A lot of the kids activities weren’t open and some swimming areas were closed.
Overall it was an okay experience, probably won’t return though.

The room was clean just a few crumbs and soap dried in the shower from previous guests. Otherwise room was in perfect condition no complaints. My only complaint I do have is the playscape, waterslides, and hot tub were shut down. Only the wave pool and the kiddie pool area were available

The staff was amazing and the room was extremely clean. We were kinda bummed out at first because a big portion of the waterpark was closed due to a window being unstable. What was still open was awesome and the activities for the kids were also great. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The manager did offer us a chance to come back and check out the park again in the next few months and we took advantage of the opportunity and can’t wait to return! The atmosphere and activities definitely worth the price tag. They have a craft room for the kids, an “Aquarium “ that’s virtual that brings your colored pages to life and dance parties! They also had a live steel drum band that preformed in house and the food was good and affordable! We ate cheese pizza both nights for dinner and the ice cream did not disappoint! The breakfast buffet was also a great option! Thanks again for the fun filled weekend!

Half the water park was broken. They did nothing to re-compensate the people who paid to get in and you can’t cancel once you get there. The pools that were open were then overcrowded because over half the waterpark is broke. They were adult adults and large children and the baby/toddler pool coming down the slides on top of them. The lifeguards worked hard to make sure people took turns and keep people safe, but when half the water parks down, everybody has to go somewhere

Bed was not comfortable. Not 1 USB port in the whole room worked (and there were 6 of them LOL) we called the front desk about it bc we were unable to charge our phones and not 1 person we talked to or they sent up was capable of fixing nor provide a solution. So they just basically said too bad so sad and left us without charging ability. The water park was mostly fun, but we also had an incident w the outside hot tub where a 6’+ large employee made our 7 year old cry over playing in the snow…. It was our fault but an innocent mistake that was handled outrageously, could definitely been handled differently.

We checked in on New Year’s Eve, we had a very bad smell in our room when turning the heat on, we also thought there would be a new year eve celebration which there wasn’t, when asking the front desk why they were not having anything for the new years or a celebration, I was told “I don’t know I just work here” I later found out they had a “noon year” thing earlier in the day, what about for the people checking in to celebrate new years ? Nothing? & why couldn’t the front desk just say that? Very rude. We went to this water park In hopes to have a very fun new years and was very disappointed when they did nothing. When we also first got there we went to look at the pool area since this was our first time, and was told we could not look without our wristbands, I told the lady we where just checking in and just wanted to see the pool, she told us, “no” staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there at all very rude and poor to the guests.

There were spots of some type of food on the wall and window sill. Our room was tiny for a family of 6 and our heat didn’t work but they did fix it. It also took 5 mins for the water in the shower and sinks to finally heat up. Kids were running around screaming at all hours of the night. All the actives were overpriced and it cost me $40 for 6 powerades. The waterpark was fun but half the slides and pools were closed due to lack of staff. It did seem pretty clean at first but after 3 days it did not look very clean anymore. We have been to much nicer water parks for the same price and we will not be going back.

So this was my first time staying at Castaway Bay (my family ALWAYS stay at Great Wolf Lodge which I am comparing this to) and first thing they have a cafe that only sells breakfast from 7am to 11am then its closed for the entire day which we were not informed the day we checked in. The cafe in the waterpark was extremely slow taking an hour plus to prepare food. Granted I understand holidays and being staff challenged which they were so a lot of the water park attractions were closed due to not enough staff, which was unfortunate considering the waterpark had shortened holiday hours from 10 AM to 8 PM and my family like many others drove hours away to spend a holiday there. Now we did go to the arcade, we did have some issues with arcade cards not being issued however payment was received, to the rooms, the loudness of other guest, and lack of waterpark attractions it was a 2/10 and I will not be returning nor will I ever recommend them to someone I know. My family has visited Great Wolf Lodge twice this year alone and I last minute I decided to switch things up and try out a different waterpark.

The rooms were clean, the waterpark was cool, the activities offered were fun, the festive atmosphere for the holidays was wonderful. The very disappointing part was the fact that we booked 2 rooms and requested multiple times weeks and days in advance for them to be adjoining. While I appreciated and did not expect to be able to check in early at 2pm... i was told at check in the adjoining rooms were not possible and that a \"request is not a guarantee\" and we were put in 2 rooms that were 2 doors down from each other. This was a family trip for Christmas and we had several small children in our party.I called down to the front desk once we got to our rooms and asked again if we could please get adjoining rooms and was once again very quickly told no. At about 6pm (4 hours after we got there), we were coming out of our rooms to see a family checking in to the adjoining room to one of our 2 rooms. They were just arriving and had all of their bags and even asked us if we knew where that room number was. Im confused as to why we could not have checked into that adjoining room at 2pm and the family arriving at 6pm could have checked in to the one we had 2 doors down. Overall we had a good time but it was not fun to have to have 1 adult in each separate room because they could not be bothered by the request that very clearly could have been accommodated.

Wonderful stay. Great location to visit cedar point. We got rained out, so we were able to go back to the hotel and hit the waterpark. The resort isnt huge, which made it really nice for the little legs in our group and the adults who had been walking all day really appreciated it too. The log ride was a pleasant surprise for our teenager who rode it multiple times. Their resort activities are more heavily geared towards little ones and our daughter loved the craft room, story time, and theming throughout the resort. All the staff from checkin thru checkout were friendly and positive. From the ice cream guy, to the craft lady all of our interactions were pleasant and they made you feel very welcome.

The hotel room was very dirty. There was a stain on the sheet of the bed (I documented with a photo). I also took photos of the dirty floor with sticky stuff and hair stuck to it. There were crumbs under the sheet that my 10 year old noticed. I have to say, I am not feeling impressed by Cedar Point at all. There were several water slides closed due to lack of staff. I will not be staying here ever again. I was almost tempted to leave and drive home after I noticed all of this at 8:30 when we were in the room showering after the water park. Seriously yucky!
