I’ve used truckstop bathrooms that were cleaner in the bathroom that we had in our room! That’s not even the worst part, the carpets need to be desperately changed. The entire room smelled of urine. It was difficult for us to even stay in the room. I would’ve left immediately but the entire town of Sandusky had been booked up. I will never say this hotel ever again. I am warning all of those who look for cleanliness, this is not the place.

I booked a suite and they gave me a standard room. I called once I saw our room and they told me that something happened and I was stuck with the room that I got but would be refunded a small fee. The room was outdated and not the cleanest, especially shower area.

I like that the property was smaller and not super busy. Parking was easy and it had a beautiful little outdoor area that was separate from both buildings. The beds were decent, but it did have a very musty smell overall in the room and hallway. The room was unable to cool down and remained very humid the entire night even after adjusting the temperature. The property needs basic updating inside (carpet and drapery). The placement of the ac makes it difficult to cool down the room past the bathroom. Every door in our room was out of alignment and made closing and locking them a bit of a hassle. It did the job for a single night stay, but wouldn’t consider it for more than that. The breakfast was also decent, very standard, nothing outstanding but staff did an amazing job keeping it stocked for the breakfast rush! Very impressed with that! Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Brian at the front desk greeted us, was helpful and a super cool guy. The breakfast staff excellent, hot breakfast was sufficient for the price of the hotel stay to include breakfast you really can’t beat it and kids had a great time in the pool many people out there everyone having a good time. Clean room no complaints and 5 minutes from cedar point. Will stay again!

It took about 20 minutes of waiting for a staff member to come check us in for our stay. We pressed the button on the phone and called the hotel and finally someone came to the desk. The hotel was understaffed for the night and the employee seemed overwhelmed. She was very nice and pleasant when checking us in. No problems with our room at all. Breakfast was also fine. When we went to check out we had to press the call button again because the employee was not at the front desk.

I'm going to start this by saying I only paid $40cad a night. If I had paid the average nightly rate, my review would look VERY different.

My daughter and I needed a place close to Cedar Point, just to rest our heads before and after a day at the park. This place did the trick. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was amazing. I was impressed with the pillows, microwave, and fridge. The last place I stayed only had a small fridge (this one is still small, but not AS small) and cost me over $400 a night. The review I left them was terrible lol. The pool looked welcoming from a distance. Parking right below was convenient. The only negatives I can mention are that there is no elevator, so we had to lug our stuff to the second floor, the main halls were kind of gross, which made me even more shocked when we entered the room lol. The noise was an issue- we heard everything in the halls, and the tv from the room next to us all night (thank goodness it was just a tv lol). For the price I paid, I would stay again. For $100+ a night, I likely wouldn't.

Overall, our stay was fine for the great deal we received on our room at $45.00 per night Monday thru Thursday & had a Studio Suite with two Kings Beds, but if I would of paid any more then that I would of definitely been disappointed. Our room was in a building not connected to the main building in the very back of the property , so it made it very inconvenient having to go to breakfast, luckily it never rained during our stay. This was our third year in a row staying here when visiting Cedar Point. The first year we was happy with our Studio Suite because it was newer looking because some renovations had been done on our room because our room had a big bathroom with a big shower & best of all NO CARPET, which is a plus for me on cleanliness, since I don't like carpet because it holds lots of nasty germs!! Second year, room very small. This year our room was very big, but needed updated very badly because the shower was very tiny because we had this old pink jacuzzi in our room that took up a lot of space where the bathroom could of been bigger instead, very poor lighting that it was very hard to see in the bathroom & rest of bedroom, toilet ended up leaking & we never could figure out how to get the sliding glass door open to the balcony because the lock was messed up. I felt like I walked into a time capsule from the 1980 to 1990 era because it was so dark & made the room look dirty & dingy with this old ugly brown & black carpet with a very big pink jacuzzi.

The room keys seem to get demagnetized very easily and multiple people were locked out of the back building through out the stay. Our room had a faint but undeniable scent of cigarette smoke, the hotel was at full capacity and we couldn’t change rooms. The staff promptly brought up a room spray that removed the smell. Our room was clean, the jacuzzi tub looked dated but well maintained. Our refrigerator did have food and alcohol left from the guest before us, so cleaning staff should check that when turning over the room.

Room was dirty, sheets had hair, crumbs, dirty in the “clean made bed” the room had no toilet paper nor soap. The breakfast area where the food is kept before being served was dirty, boxes thrown everywhere, smashed food on the floor. I didn’t take a chance eating the food. We asked for a refund and booked another hotel. I’m still waiting on the refund a week later…..

This was my third stay here when visiting the area for Cedar Point. The park is about ten minutes away and an easy drive.

I checked in around 9pm, after a day at the park, Brian was friendly, and assigned room 125, in the rear building. I had requested a second floor room, was given first floor, although it was fine as there is no elevator. I had some difficulty figuring out how to lock the sliding patio door, called front desk, they offered to help, but I found the lock near the top of the door and called back.

The room was fine, clean, spacious, and had TWO King beds, 4 pillows each, which were comfortable. The beds had mismatched bed spreads which was odd. Some supplies were lacking though, only 1 bar of soap for potentially 4 guests, and only 3 bath towels, for a room with a jetted tub, which was disappointing, with no towels near the tub. Most jets were broken.

Above the hot tub, there was significant water damage to the ceiling, which was bulging and protruding downwards, which was concerning. Also, the toilet was very difficult to flush, requires significant force, and a child would not be able to flush themselves. The shower stall is a bit tight too.

The room had a very flat and modern OLED TV however it did not work and said \"needs restoration\" and no cable connection.

I liked that breakfast ended at 10am and there was plenty of variety including yogurts, waffles, sausage, eggs, and muffins. Quality was okay.

The room was a great value and I would return!

We got this hotel so we could spend the night before going to Cedar Point. This hotel was a fifteen minute drive from the park and had lots of food options nearby. It was a good value for what we paid (very inexpensive). The rooms themselves were very clean and comfortable, with plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the showers. Plenty of places to plug in phones and nice pictures in the room. Breakfast was as expected. The make-your-own cinnamon-apple waffles were excellent. Yogurt, sausage patties, toast, bagels/cream cheese, muffins, coffee, and cereal were fine (hard to mess those up). Eggs were likely powdered and sub-bar.

The place could have used some all-around maintenance. The carpet in the halls and stairway area was very dirty and some of the paint was peeling in those areas too. There was a hairdryer in a bag in the room, but it was the kind that is supposed to be mounted on the wall, which the hotel never bothered to actually attach to the wall, so it was awkward to use. There's a train nearby and the noise of it woke me up a couple of times. Not at all fancy or luxurious in any way, but fine for just a place to sleep.

The room was so dirty ..when I told the front desk the guy looked at me like I was crazy and just said oh we are fully booked there is nothing I could do. So I told him I needed cleaning stuff so I could clean it and new bedding towels. Never again would I stay at any of there hotels it was nasty.

The hotel is older. No elevator, no luggage carts. Dirty old carpets in hallways. Our toilet seat was dirty. We had to go to the front desk every day to ask for clean towels. Our room had a musty smell constantly. The water pressure is low. The shower curtain wouldn't stay closed.

We have stayed at La Quinta-Sandusky a number of times and have found it consistently exceptional. The room is always clean, everything is provided as promised, the hot breakfast is fresh and plentiful, and there is nothing left to want. All around, the staff at La Quinta are definitely customer-oriented and always make our stay flawless. It is our preferred Sandusky location.

Me and my wife and kid stayed here for a single night. We had just stayed at Kalahari, and wanted another night in the city to enjoy Lake Erie a bit before leaving. The room was clean. It was a little narrow of a space, but that didn't really bother us any. The breakfast in my opinion wasn't incredible, but my wife enjoyed it so that may just be a me thing. Otherwise, they had a way to make your own waffles which was pretty cool. I think for a short visit, like maybe going to cedar point for a day or two, it's definitely a nice place for the price.

It was fine. The heating unit in our room clicked about 5 times each time the fan turned on and off, so every 5-10 minutes all night long. Breakfast was ok, the eggs were cold and runny, but the sausage patties were pretty good. The beds were comfortable though, so that was nice.

We didn't have inflated expectations with the affordable price, however we were disgusted that the property is being so misrepresented. The entire property is neglected, stains all over the furniture & carpet. Tvs/fireplace were unplugged and there was a strong smell of mildew/mold present. After all this being said, you can imagine our dissatisfaction of being offered another room versus a refund.

Only problem we had was we could not get the wifi to work at all in the rear building. We were hoping to relax and watch and watch football and play some online xbox games but were not able to game at all. The office tried to help but we eventually gave up. Other than that we had a great night.
