At first arrival staff charged the wrong account. Could only get 1 key for one of the two rooms we booked. Was told error would have to be fixed by first shitt. First shift came in and charged the account again. Was told that the manager would have to call me when she got in. Called in to the hotel around 1139 and was informed that the manager would call me back in about ten minutes as she was in a meeting. 2 hours later I called the hotel to speak to her and at this point my card had been charged a 4th time. She kept insisting it was not taking it out of my account. After being informed that I was contacting coporate she hung up on me. I called back later and was told once again she was busy and would call me back in 20 minutes. 2 hours later I called the hotel and was put on hold so they could get her. Someone picked up eventually then hung up without saying a word. Still trying to get this nightmare resolved. The one soda machine they have was empty. The heated pool was cold according to my kids, and the award winning breakfast was ok when they were not running out of stuff. But hey at least the beds were comfy and most of the rest of the staff were great.

We stayed for VB tournament. Lobby is very small and smells of strong cigg smoke due to the employees smoking right outside the door. There are bird nests of these birds that dive at you as soon as you walk out the door. The pool has molded peeling ceilings and the water had a film on it with dead bugs floating everywhere, yet it was indoor? The back "patio" if you it that, was one table that hadn't been cleaned and was rusted. One of the VB moms found a chicken bone in her room. They took hours to switch her room because manager had "personal issues' and nobody else could help it seems. Second night I was across the hall from a room that had the Sheriff banging on the door to remove customers since they threatened the front staff. There is one ice machine and no ice. We had a girl with an injury and her mom could hardly get any ice for her. There is one vending machine, but nothing to drink if you need something. Tons of ripped up carpet upstairs and no baseboards, as they are doing "work" I guess. Worst place I have ever stayed and nobody offered a credit of any sort.

The staff were a delight; the location, however, was in disrepair. The pool area was not maintained well; the ceiling and walls were crumbling. I think they might have been in the middle of renovating the carpet in the hallways? The carpeting was cut but there was no molding to keep the seams flat, so we tripped over the carpet multiple times and not once did any member of staff mention anything about renovation efforts. Breakfast was okay. We have stayed here in the past and had NONE of these issues. Next time to the area we will find a different hotel to stay at.

The hotel was quiet and not far from either of the ferry’s to the island. This is farther from jet express.

Bathroom was terrible.Rust on anything metal, tub had hair in it,no tissues, body wash,or shampoo. Ask for those items and were told that they didn't have any. Wanted 1 towel and they said to ask housekeeping. The walls were rotted around the tub area. The coffee maker didn't work. The swim area was a mess. Tiles were falling off the walls, tiles on floor were loose, pile of broken tiles in brushed into corner with a broom in front of it, screens were ripped.
To top it off, the key card didn't work. Housekeeper open door and said battery needed replaced. Didn't replace it. Next day we couldn't get in again. Front desk called maintenance in to fix it. Were told it would be 5 minutes. After standing in hallway minutes, went down to lobby to wait. Front desk hadn't called anyone until they saw us in lobby. Were locked out around an hour. Breakfast was great either. The prices were raised up,because of some event, about $100 a day. Will NEVER stay there again!!!!

Lady at front desk who checked us in was nice and gave us free cookies. Room was sufficient space-wise but the sink area was way too small especially when sharing space for toiletries in a family of 5. Room was fairly clean but the lighting was very cool white which was not the most welcoming. Cable box for the TV did not work no matter what we tried. Coffee machine in the room didn't as well. I was the one in my family who slept on the pull-out sofa bed and it was rough. The mattress was thin and I could feel the metal bars underneath which made sleep super uncomfortable but I endured with no other choice. Breakfast has decent options but not the best quality. The potatoes were the best but kept running out so get to breakfast early! Pool was okay to swim in but had a lot of dirt near the deep end and desperately needed painting around the edges.

The rooms seemed updated but we had a lighter, old dirty towel left in our room when we got there. Our air conditioning unit leaked all over the ground so half the room was a pond, when you walked on it, the water splashed. We had a 2 towels put down to soak up the water which was brown. We asked for maintenance and it wasn’t taken care of until the second time we asked. They supposedly fixed it and put another towel down and the second towel was soaked after an hour. Not a good stay at all.

Dirty exterior, dirty common areas. Indoor pool with large amounts of dead bugs floating in it. The ceiling and walls within the pool room itself were coming apart. Seems they are either trying to refurbish the holes and the flooring, but the carpet in the halls on the second floor were torn apart and in pieces as well as the walls in the halls are dirty in the paint is peeling. The rooms are not as terrible as the exterior and common areas inside the hotel but the bathrooms do have mold around the caulking in the shower. Mini bugs will come out of the showerhead when you turn it on.

Checking was fine, no problems. The bath/shower needed upkeep, the liquid soap dispenser was time. no body soap. The shampoo and conditioner were full but the seal was still in place. To remove the seal tou pull the pink cover by the pull tag. The refrigerator , ice bucket and microwave were in cabinets that were near the floor. You had to move the coffee maker to the ac plug in by the bed stand to plug in. The hallway carpet was mismatched and stained. No response from the front desk about a wifi acct (I figured that out), direct TV is the service but the guide (that is set out by the tv) doesn't match. My trip was for pleasure leaving early before breakfast, my second morning we saw folks in there eating. Being close by the intestate the noise wasn't too bad. Price was rite. The hotel manager was yelling at a customer on the phone. The side trash was full my entire

Plenty of parking. Location is close to several restaurants, gas stations and the freeway. Room was clean and the A/C worked great! Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.
Only caveat was the TV & remote was wonky (it didn't load up the tv guide by default when I turned it on and I couldn't change volume). It took me 15 minutes to finally figure it out whenI had to reset the TV by unplugging it & plugging it back in and then it worked great. Also, there was no tissue for the tissue box (no biggie, I used toilet paper).

At breakfast this morning went to sit down and did not realize that the table was wobbly, so when I sat down I put my hand on the table and our food and drinks went all over the place. The staff was quick to help us clean up and tried to stabilize the table by putting folded up napkins under the legs when table should have been removed until it could be fixed.

Room was disgusting, staff was very rude. Entire place smelt like cigarette smoke because the staff stands in the front entrance smoking all day and night.
Staff loading up breakfast used bare hands to touch food. Room was dirty, had chips all over the carpet, had to have it cleaned. Bathroom had hair in all the corners and behind the toilet. No proper bedding just multiple flat sheets on both beds. Pool and pool deck had so much hair everywhere.

I was terribly disappointed in the cleanliness of the halls and my room. The shower/tub had hair in it, the floor had some sort of food crumbs on the floor between the beds, and when I pulled back the bedding the sheet had a stain of some sort and more hair. The room was not cleaned properly. The bed was made but not changed and the trash was done. Other than that I believe it was skipped over. The ladies that were on duty that evening did apologize, brought clean bedding, and said it would be documented. We visit Port Clinton often as do several members of our family. We will look at other places rather than stay here again.

The pool was at 50 degrees, they wouldn’t turn on the heater. They don’t set foot in your room unless you are there for more than 3 days. This means no towels, beds aren’t made, no tissues, and out of conditioner. They didn’t have any milk for breakfast and our tv needed to be “reset” every am in order to work. The only pleasant fella was the guy working breakfast. He needs a raise and should give lessons to the other staff members working behind the desk. We had a boys basketball team at the hotel and they couldn’t swim, LAME!

I've stayed at this hotel many times throughout the past 10 years and this last visit was horrible. The hotel had gone downhill so much. Not clean at all, my room had urine on the seat, hair in shower. I had to clean and disinfect the room myself. The pool was disgusting, the wall paint was chipping off, tiles broken. The one night I went to take my granddaughter in the pool and there was a group in there partying and had tons of beer bottles lined up, so of course we didn't go, she was upset. No rules enforced.

Our room bathroom at the bottom of the toilet at the base had noticeably amount of urine and poop on it and was very hard for me to use the toilet knowing it was there, also the design of the bathroom , the sink area was extremely small to put anything on it , but would have been extremely helpful to have at least at least some sort of a towel holder hung on the wall so it didn't have to be squeezed in on the counter top between the sink and wall.

Probably the dirtiest hotel I have been to. Unfortunately the mixed reviews I read before booking had me mislead as I chose to give the benefit of the doubt. I am not wanting to check into a room with pee on the toilet seat, no shower curtain, hairs in the bathtub, dirty stains covering the floor, phone that does not have all buttons or even a dial tone. I was beyond grossed out and only give 2 stars because when I addressed the front desk, who was clearly struggling to keep up with all the people checking in or other issues I overheard while waiting, was kind and friendly. Never ever going back to this place nor recommend.

The downside: the pool was being renovated, we had to move rooms twice, the hotel needs some updating.

The upside: The staff is absolutely amazing! Any issue I had, the staff made sure to look into it immediately. Everyone from the front desk to the breakfast crew to the cleaning staff is incredible and so friendly.

Our room door would not lock and although maintenance had repaired it once, it broke again. We requested a new room and the front desk girl ( I would not call her a young lady) was very rude. When I insisted on a new room for security reasons she offered no apologies for the broken door or the inconvenience of moving rooms. Her attitude left me feeling like I was bothering her, she rolled her eyes at me more than once. There were 3 children swimming in the pool unattended both Saturday night and Sunday morning. They were unsupervised walking dripping wet through the breakfast area making the floor slippery. They also used the workout equipment soaking wet (getting out of the pool and immediately getting on the workout machines) which we felt was a safety hazard. The front desk again did nothing. We will not be staying here again.

Warning! Upon arrival, our rooms were dirty. Linens on the floor, trash overflowing from the garbage bins, dirty shower & sinks dirty. Also, the entire floor had a foul odor. We were given 4 different rooms at which we were told every available room on the 2nd floor was dirty because a worker did not report to work on the 9th.

Also, there were adults in the pool drinking Alcohol & Vaping. They invited me & our young children to join in on the “fun.” We counted at least 15 to 20 open liquor bottles surrounding the pool. We were also told that they live there and that the party will continue all weekend - this was said by one of the men in the pool.

We complained to the front desk and were told to contact Cheaptickets for a full refund because we decided to leave after only being at the hotel for less than 4 hours after feeling unsafe. We were specifically told by the front desk staff that we would not be charged for the stay. Thank God for the ability to voice record.

However, after filing a complaint through Cheaptickets, the Manager at the hotel by the name of Shelby declined our refund per Cheaptickets.

Now, we have an active complaint through Choice Hotels against the property and awaiting a response from the Owner. It has been a few days with no response.

We plan to release our photos and videos & voice recordings of what we witnessed to a media outlet in Sandusky, Ohio and other Social Media platforms to warn the public.

Outside of the room issues were that the vending didn't work(but there is a gas station across the street) and the ice machine on the second floor was broken. My family really enjoyed the breakfast. It was quite pleasant.

Arrived tired and just needed to get some sleep. The site doesn't do keys so I would have had to download an app and then figure out how to link the reservation I had made on Expedia just to get in my room. Thankfully the staff person just opened the room for us after I asked and we just didn't leave the room. Please get the key option back or figure out the app process so it is easier. Not sure with all the info we put in online prior to entry why we still have to manually give so much information.

The room was on average for cleanliness, surfaces and most areas were fine. The shower ceiling had mold, shower curtain was dirty and don't look behind any furniture, a ton of built up dust and dirt.
Housekeeping was where this place fails. It apon request and u requested 3 days in a row, with assurance from the front desk my room would be cleaned and made up, but it never happened

I’ll just get to the point 160$ per night and the room was DISGUSTING. Crumbs on the floor, like it hadn’t seen a vacuum in awhile, turned on the lamp and smelled something funky like burning.. there was a layer of grease and dust on the lightbulbs..the bathroom ceiling had brown water damage spots on the tiles. Room was clean and staff were great. This is the nicest hotel I have found on the area for an amazing price and cleanliness.

Several hairs in the sink & on toilet. TV had to be reset, coffe maker didn't work, had to be replaced, one of the two lights above the sink was burnt out. Had to prop a mirror up in the window each morning & plug in the sink was completely closed when we got in, no visible pull to normally open it for the sink to drain. Husband finally got it to open position. Young man got locked out when he tried to use the pool. Tracks in window frame looked to have black mold. Just not a good experience at all.

Hotel staff were kind and helpful, the breakfast was also well stocked. Beds were fine.

It’s certainly an aging property and our bathroom wasn’t very clean. While our room was non-smoking, you could certainly smell it had been smoked in. The pool was warm but it has certainly seen better days and the pool area was a mess.

Affordable, easy access to Sandusky and area, nice staff, but aging an showing it.

Last minute stay because of weather. Room was perfect considering I ended up working from the room. Quiet and staff was attentive. With weather I wasn’t sure when I would be leaving, Holly the manager ensured that I had my room for an extra night if need be and gave me a late check out to be on the safe side, well beyond what she needed to do. Breakfast is simple but sufficient, I’ll definitely be back.
