The pool was amazing, and huge! The rooms are so big, and clean with a lovely view of the pool and a beautiful bathroom. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. It was a bit of a hike to get to my room each day, but the hotel are happy to take you in a buggy. Also it's quite a hike to the shops but they offer a shuttle or you can rent a push bike. The beach is within 20 meters of the hotel which was amazing.

The website implies that the property is directly on the beach whereas there is a quiet roadway between the beach and the property. Not a big issue but not what i was expecting. No need to leave the resort anyway as the pool and facilities are great

The room had a really fowl odor when we walked in and when we asked to be moved they found the shower was backed up and then she tried to talk us in to staying there! And seemed annoyed that we didn’t want to wait for the smell to dissipate. Even the repair staff came in and went OMG. How was that not noticed in cleaning? Also the pool was lacking towels or chairs and over all cleanliness. What a great location and the pool could be great but no service and very few lounge chairs, nowhere to sit and have a drink or snack. It seems that would be a money maker with some ambience. We planned to eat and have drinks but it wasn’t good environment.

Surrounding was spooky, the hotel not what was described, we did not have electricity in our room from 2 am onwards (no cooling either), the AC was really noicy as long as it worked. The bed was not good and the breakfast was not of the quality expected.

If you want to be closer to the main hub of the touristy part of Phuket, this will not be the one to stay. It requires taxis. If you want peace, quietness, and slower pace, this is a perfect place. The staff are all very kind and helpful.

We arrived there at 1028am tired and exhausted and on registration at 1031am asked if we can get a light breakfast and they said breakfast closed at 1030am, no smiles, or, I will see what we could do. On arriving in our room there was hair in the tub, and most places were dusty.
We were asked to deposit $100US for another room pass ( I never heard of this) on adking why we were just told this is what we do. The 100US was refunded on checking out.
The beach was great, although on the beach the locals do massages in the opened and some parts smelt of stale fish.
Our room and the view from our room is nice. No trolleys work a few days so we opt to walk to the breakfast area. Lucky and Pok who worked the trolley and the lady for housekeeping Mia were all very helpful and pleasant despite their little English. The hotel is far from most activities, great restaurants and tours. We were picked up from the hotel and dropped back for all tour packages.

The rooms are spacious and well maintained, but they charge for warming your food in a microwave, and you have to pay extra for everything, we have stayed in hotels cheapers than this one that includes drinks in the fridge, microwave and better facilities, the staff is friendly but the beach view was really disappointing, dirty and dangerous, it wasn’t the worst, it’s just ok.

Staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. The premises is lovely and the pool expands almost the entire property. A lovely beach is across the street. We did find the property a little outdated and needed some repairs, but nothing that impacted our stay. Our biggest complaint is that we opted for the breakfast buffet plan. It was 0630-1030 daily but everyday the food was exactly the same and if you were not there by 0900 hours at the latest food had run out and was rarely replenished resulting in people having to choose the \"leftovers\". Overall a good stay for the money.

The hotel was advertised as a 5 star hotel but when I got there I found out it was 4 star. The room was spacious but it was not clean and not kept in good condition. I told them I wanted to change the hotel and they agreed to refund but it had been over a month they have not refunded my money yet. Each time I send them message, they tell me that they have refunded but no evidence. When I checked in, they received their money immediately but when it comes to refund, it takes over a month to refund. Moreover, I am not sure if they are honest about their claim that they have already refunded.

The rooms have very good mattresses and showers. The air con good, the curtains black out the morning sun. The Siamese reception and headboards are stunning.
All a million miles from the rest of the non-architecture: pure home from home I’d imagine for your average member of the old USSR. Hundreds and hundreds of metres of austere buildings, the majority beside the ruins of a previous hotel.
The surrounding area is dirty and derelict with only one venue in walking distance to lunch.
All in all this hotel is ideal for brief travellers, plane spotters, a night or two before or after a flight, or if you are Russian. Hence the dominance of air crew and Russians.
There is nothing wrong with this hotel if you just want to lay by the pool in the glorious sun for a week or two either.

It was a fine enough resort. Mostly families. Near enough to the airport. There was a giant spider in my bed but I suppose that’s not uncommon. The food was ok, breakfast seemed like a ton of people and food was just out in the open for the bugs to get at. The surrounding area was not great. Not anything within walking distance.

A very strange layout, perhaps due to the derelict building at the front, Tsunami damage? It means none of the rooms have sea views. The accommodation block is separate to the main hotel and is very long and narrow, it can be a long walk to breakfast. They've biult a lovely pool along the entire length which makes it jnteresting. It is a ery short walk to the beach.

The place is nice enough. A little dated though. Area is dead and nothing of interest nearby except a few abandoned resorts next to this one. Looks kind off like the apocalypse hit. Make sure you rent a car unless swimming the beach or pool is the only thing you’re looking to do. We did have a nice sunset over the ocean view from our room which was nice. Buffet was not the best.

The room was amazing and the pool is huge. The gym does not have AC or even a fan, so terrible!

The staff is polite, but not preparey to answer customer questions. I asked for a coke at night and they couldn't sell it to me cause didn't have the key...

When checking out, they didn't take the initiative to return my deposit. I'm pretty sure if you don't ask, they'll keep it.

The location if you're planning to visit the main beaches and attractions is terrible... Everything is tooooo far. If you're planning not to go out and just relax is a perfect place.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed my stay at Maikhao Palm Beach Resort! The property itself was very unique and beautiful, it was gorgeous! The room was lovely and well-maintained. The only thing that I did not love about this resort is that the area around it was rather run-down, meaning the walk to the beach and neighboring spaces were not enjoyable. This hotel is great for people looking to stay near the airport, but is not close to Phuket city or the south part of the island.

Pros: Loved staying at this location. Nice and quite and relaxing. Beautiful beach across the road which was perfect for swimming. Positioned between two local Thai restaurants and a few market stalls nearby made for good eating/drinking. Staff were helpful with any requests.

Cons: We were not fans of the buffet breakfast as the food was quite flavour less. There is a beautiful pool and swim up bar over looking the beach however it is not used/opened.

Overall would definitely recommend to others as it is a great location if you want to relax without the hustle and bustle and awesome food places within easy walking distance.

It seems however that the upkeep has dwindled as of the past few years as the exterior needs a facelift in the shape of new paint and rehabilitation of the pool areas (just a little). This hotel has the potential to be a great hotel but unfortunately it fails in so many areas. The staff don’t speak English therefore translation can be a problem.

Food - it’s okay and basic but only caters to a limited audience. Advice do not ask to change a dish as they will get confused about what to change and give you anything - asked for mushrooms on a cheese pizza got carrots and cauliflower not sure how that happened. And don’t bother eating here if your a vegetarian

Staff are polite at times but don’t catch them towards the end of their week as they get really snappy and to add to that you will have to ask the cleaners to clean everything and change the bed covers as they do not it without being asked.

The hotel is located so far from everything you will pay a fortune in cabs unfortunately no good words to say about this place apart from the male drivers who take you up and down to your room are very polite and sweet

A beautiful hotel, which is sadly looking tired and needs work. There is so much to like- friendly, helpful and happy staff; beautiful pools; lovely surroundings (not the hotels fault there are derelict buildings in front of it); beautiful reception area. But there are many things which let it down. Lift was covered in hand prints and not cleaned in the two weeks we were there; price of food and drinks, especially bottled water is extortionate (10THB in supermarket - 60 THB in hotel); peeling paint in places; not enough sun beds and umbrellas around the pools. It needs a good shake-up if it wants to remain a 4star hotel.
However, would we stay there again? Yes we would! Despite its faults we enjoyed our two weeks and already miss the beautiful bird song, the frog chorus, Koi Carp and smiling faces of the staff.

We arrived at night and when we saw the hotel entrance all lit up I said, OMG 😳, this is beautiful. Check in took ~ 15 minutes. Walking into our room took our breath away! Staff friendly & helpful and watching the sunset on the beach was awesome! Cheap Tuk-Tuk rides to nearby stores and outside restaurants. So fun to ride in them!!

The photos online give a false sense of how the property presents itself. The room, although very large wasn’t very clean and had an overwhelming smell of mildew like the air conditioning filters were damp and had probably never been replaced. The mood lighting gave a nice atmosphere but it was difficult to see in the bathroom space, was impossible to apply makeup in the dimness. The pool area and common spaces were run-down, water features not working were dank and all round the service disappointing.

Property is on the quiet part of the island and is not party town which is nice, but this makes relatively long trips for excursions.

The beach is close across the street very nice, and a nice walk to the Siriat National Park. The ruins of the Tsunami damaged building remain, ugly. The inner walk of the hotel is nice with a nice view of the swamp along the walk beautiful. Pool is awesome and beautiful.

Hotel restaurant is slow, expensive and runs out of menu items. Breakfast is good but eat off property for lunch and dinner.

This hotel needs serious maintenance. Restaurant has good selection of Thai dishes and very friendly staff. However, breakfast buffet was very disappointing where the bowls and fruits were empty whilst the staff were mainly watching without filling them up! Got the impression that they have been told to do so…something that you barely see in Phuket.
Overall average rating, we had better experience with the same rates in other hotels, so can’t be about the lower rate per night.

Very poor maintenance of the building. Expedia says 4.5 star, but feels like 3.5 star hotel. Extremely long hallway, takes over 5 minutes to go to lobby or dinning area. Too far from everything, ride to airport is far even though is only couple of miles away. There is an empty shell building that looks terrible. Photos are misleading.

The resort is absolutely beautiful. Our room was clean and large and comfortable. The restaurant for dinner was wonderful. Good variety and quality. Service was excellent. Breakfast was incredible and quite varied. When we were ill the staff helped us out. The laundry was excellent, and we found our clothes delivered to our room, ironed and hung in the closet. Extra help with scheduling a trip and transportation back to the airport. The beach is almost deserted, and not very clean. Water is warm. The pool was warm and clean and very relaxing!

Property is beautiful however distance from anything is far. Because of this there is No one at hotel. Lack of people equal lack of care of things .. breakfast quality was very very low and i only eat dinner 1 time in open air Hot dining room. I ended up getting a stomach bug where i can only assume from food quality and ended up eating fried rice in my rooms for 4 days ... i ended up changing locations when i felt better and lost remaining 10days booked at hotel due to \"policy\"

If you want to stay in unfinished hotel...sure!

The hotel would be great, if it was...finished. The rooms are done in a very nice style, and level of comfort. But 80% of them are with no sea-view in spite of the first line. I guess the construction of the second line of buildings was unfinished... On the other hand the price was very good. But overall, this is a very strange place...
