Estella resort is a nice resort. The beach was nice, the room was nice (pool access), the pools were nice too. There’s many pictures options by the beach. They have tables, swings, and hammocks for guest to use. You can walk to other resort restaurants and the beach is clean. The only thing is sooooo many mosquitoes. Be prepared to get bit even with mosquitoes repellent.

The property changed its name without any announcement. The driver cannot even locate the location correctly. Also, I had a late flight and I had to check out by 1pm. There's not a single air-conditioned room for guests to rest in.

The resort design works well - to have the pool right outside our patio was lovely, the bed was large, great bathroom. The location too was excellent and we loved how the beach space was decorated in fairy lights, swings and hammocks, adding to the luxurious feel.

A piece of paradise in coronovirus nightmare

The foyer is misleading as very dark and dismal. Get through there and the pool rooms are amazing. The door opens straight onto the most amazing pool which is really clean. Opens onto a lovely beach which is empty. Service in hotel is lacking but due to poor English rather than apathy. Overall would go back and would recommend

All three swimming pools were very dirty, which meant we were unable to use them. The water was green and you could not see the bottom. We asked if cleaning would take place and we were told it would. However, although there was some attempts to clean one of the pools, this took four days and was still being cleaned when we left after 7 nights. We did send an email to the hotel but received no response.

Property Needs a facelift

The overall experience in Dvaree Mai Khao was alright, not exceptional. The property is big but not well maintained. The beach is nice and quiet, unfortunately this was the season of jellyfish in Andaman Sea, so get rashes on the body.
This property has 3 pools, but not well maintained, water looks yellowish, even though we see daily cleaning by the staff. The service staff was overall friendly n warm. Breakfast has room for improvement.
Outside hotel has a mini mart, 5 restaurants, few souvenirs shops and fruits stalls. They even provide laundry services at reasonable rates.
The property is very secluded n quiet, and we find peace and relaxing moments. With some upgrading of the property, it surely be a paradise.

On the beach is a bonus. Bed was a bit firm for my liking. Goof wifi, good breakfast. Room clean with pool right outside the door. Close to the airport is handy. Staff helpful, friendly. Travelling on my own, felt safe.

Tucked away far from anything

I was looking for a hotel which was away from business and shopping, and I found the place!
This is DEFINITELY NOT for you who wants party or a lot of things to do. This is the place to relax, rewind and stay away.
The hotel it self is a bit dated, but still quite ok. The rooms are big, but the bed a bit too hard. It is right on the beach which is not crowded.
There is a (small) gym, restaurant, spa and a small conference room. Outside the front of the hotel I a mini-mart and,... that’s it!
The service is excellent and the people very friendly.
Only for those who wants solitude!

We stayed here just for an afternoon so we could experience Mai Khao Beach before catching a late flight home. We found the staff and service to be excellent, warm, and accommodating during our brief stay. The hotel itself is quite beautiful but not well maintained. Most everything is old and a bit rundown. There is this sense of faded beauty about the property, which can have it's charm, but this doesn't really extend to the rooms themselves. We did not find the room to be particularly nice, though it was clean and the bed and linens were comfortable enough. Very rough around the edges generally. Also, bizarrely bad lighting. With proper investment, this could be a pretty amazing property, but it's clear that ongoing maintenance or renovation is not a priority for the owners or managers. A plus is that it is right on Mai Khao Beach, which was one of our favorite beaches in Phuket. (Very peaceful, pristine beach. Though there are many resorts in this area near the beach, none are visible from the beach itself.)

The condition of the place is a little dated, but still can't beat the beachfront location for that price. Breakfast buffet was alright, but most options weren't available as staff couldn't replenish food fast enough for the amount of guests present. Overall, it was a decent stay and very peaceful.

Value for money among the 5 stars in Mai Khao

The Hotel is very quiet, we were upgraded to a pool access room. The breakfast is good. there are a few pools in this hotel that makes most of the guests spread out, that make it feel that there is no one here. the best is the beach. clear water, white sand and not many dogs or people trying to sell you stuff (a change from Patong). we had a few friends staying at the regent and SALA (these are 5 start hotels) a taxi from D Varee cost 500 Baht but you can walk from the beach in less that 10min, most hotels have a open concept unlike in Paton and guests are free to wonder around any hotel.
given the price and location, I would say D Varee was a great value for money but if you are here to party then you are in the wrong place.

Classified as a 4 star this was barely a 2 star. even after viewing 3 rooms my room looked like it had only an undercover of paint, cigarette burns on desk top incl coffee cup rings.
Free Wifi did not work in my room. No English speaking TV. no umbrella, no bathrobe or slip pons until my 5th day. Room service food inedible. Breakfast not as displayed on website totally self service incl cutlery. Had to limited breakfast each day to toast and fruit drink, everything else. yuk.
On arrival advised not to use doe of pools as was not clean. Water was green and during my stay only saw a small external filter being used not unsuitable for sizes of the three pools.
Air conditioning unit leaked into floor.

Throughly enjoyed our stay

Had a great stay at the D Varee. Just what we needed after a long day travelling to Thailand. Friendly welcoming staff, nice breakfast and a great beach with a little swing which we enjoyed.
Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Couple of bad points to make: bed a bit hard and quite far from local shops/restaurants.

Swimming pool looked dirty water. Booked taxi and next morning no one knew about it, poor communication. Staff at the restaurant very poor, slow... We went to holiday inn for dinner, there they had good food, drinks and great staff. The hotel looks nice but misses a good atmosphere, needs to be more live.

You won't get any rest.

The walls are paper thin, you can hear stomping from people above you, snoring from people in the rooms next door to you, evey voice that makes a sound in the corridors and farting from people in the rooms below.
This hotel is way overpriced for Thailand.

While the website sells this place as high end and the foyer is presented beautifully, the room was just awful. It looked and smelt old. And unless you are on the ground floor with a pool,access room, the pool is not inviting at all. You feel like you are swimming in someone's else's pool without their permission because you are literally swimming right next to their balcony. The gym is in poor condition. The multi exercise machine is frozen so that except for the weights you cannot adjust anything. The floor is hard with no floor mats at all and the air con is dodgy although I did manage to get it working. The beach itself was like a rubbish tip. Very dissappoing overall.

This is not a 4 star hotel.

Booked the hotel based on the photos of the hotel and the fact that it was rated as a 4 star. Photos had probably been taken 10 years ago when the Hotel was in better shape. Room stank, old furniture, pool was dirty (dirty rim around the pool, leaves in the water). Everything really is in need of an overhaul. We stayed at the T-villa near the airport for the same price a week before;T-villa was a five star compared to D Varee. I wished I had stayed at the Holiday Inn next door, it was pretty much the same price and was also like a five star (went to their restaurant, as I did not want to risk eating dinner at D Varee).

Very quiet resort, mostly adults; which is what we wanted. The Breakfast included was good. Meals on site were a bit expensive so we checked out An independent place and a market nearby. There s also a small store just outside the premise. The hotel also has a 24 hour canteen .

Overpriced, Useless Aircon and terrible food.

Thank god we had just one night. This hotel would have been OK if it'd been half the price but at near $140 for the night it was totally overpriced. The room safe wasn't even attached to the wall so was utterly useless. The food was terrible in the disgracefully overpriced hotel restaurant. We should have realized when we saw that we were the ONLY customers but we assumed that was because of the obnoxious volume of the music scaring people off.

Lastly and most importantly, the air conditioning unit in the room was one of those prehistoric 'built-in' ones that sound like a partially shot down spitfire and provide as much cooling as you could expect from a burp in the face after a cold drink.

Rubbish.

The hotel was further from the airport than expected, about a 20 minute ride (It said ~3mi). It was clean and beautiful. The hotel staff was very accomodating. We were greeted with a welcome drink and the staff brought us and our baggage to our room with a golf cart, since the grounds are pretty expansive. We had a bit of a hard time locating the breakfast, but it was great once found. This resort has a huge pool and beach views. I wish we would have been able to stay longer.

This hotel should be rated as 3 stars. It caters to organized tours. If you are not part of a tour group or don't sign up for one of their local tours you are ignored and put at the bottom of the list. For instance, one of our part scheduled the hotel van for 1830 the day before to take her to an event. Next day, the timing for the van was confirmed. The van didn't show at 1830. At 1900 she had to walk to another resort to find a taxi and was 45 minutes late. After a few days we didn't bother asking the hotel for anything except to check that they had give us soap, shampoo and other consumables.

The biggest issue was checking in because the only person working that night didn't speak a word of English. The room was basic but okay for the price. It is quite expensive to get here by taxi and to go anywhere from the resort.

They need to do a Lot of work, particularly in the restaurant. It is not hygienic, with left over stored in the corridor, using a trolley to collect the plates and left overs. Lots of flies flying around. Food is not very good - very limited choices and poorly presented. The room itself is not well equipped. There is not enough of lots of things tha I expected from a 4 star hotel - not toilet rolls, bath gel, tea bags, milk, soap etc. Overall I am quite disappointed with the facility. The hotel is also quite far away from anything. Impossible to walk around, for example. It is fairly well equipped but just not enough service!

If you love flies, this hotel is for you!

This hotel was disappointing. The rooms are big, but not that clean. (Didn't look like the pictures-perhaps we just got a bad one). There are only 9 channels of television, and only one is in English. The main issue with the hotel is the flies!! They were everywhere. In the room, by the pool, in the restaurant. We had to go to a property next door to have dinner to escape. The staff was friendly enough, and they try hard, but the service quality wasn't that great. And it is very remote, which is good is you plan to stay at the resort the whole time but not so great if you want to see the main Phuket attractions. It isn't the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, but I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it to my friends.

Unfinished hotel with poor service and bad food.

Throughout our two weeks in Phuket we never had a bad meal - until we stayed here. (This includes street food, food stalls, and restaurants.) The resort ran out of money before it finished construction, so there is rubble around, open and unmarked holes with wires in them by the pool, and the staff burn trash and construction materials during the day in the middle of the resort. (Big fire, near propane tanks, lots of smoke and obviously, bad smelling.)

We passed on the included breakfast, because lunch was horrible and the buffet looked bad. The rooms are water damaged and worn with stains and mold. The staff do not speak English and outright lied to us when we expressed our dissatisfaction and inquired about getting out of our reservation.

We were expecting a resort similar to the Renaissance, because we paid more to stay there earlier in our trip. This resort is comparable to a US Motel 8, so if you pay those rates, meh. Still better to stay and the beach huts next door. This place is a loser and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Wir waren die letzten 2 Nächte dort, um nochmal ein bisschen relaxen zu können und es auch nicht weit zum Flughafen zu haben.
Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet, allerdings war es im Bad nicht ganz sauber. Die Matratze ist steinhart. In der zweiten Nacht hatten wir 2 Topper, das ging dann. In der ersten Nacht hatten wir garkeinen und man hatte wirklich das Gefühl auf dem Boden zu liegen. Der Rest der Hotelanlage wirkte noch ein bisschen im Winterschlaf gefangen. Die Pools direkt an den Häusern waren allesamt grün und das Wasser nicht sauber. Nur der große Gemeinschaftspool war gereinigt. Auch die anderen öffentlichen Bereiche wirkten vereinsamt und dreckig. Das Restaurant haben wir nicht ausprobiert, aber die Preise die dort aufgerufen werden fanden wir auch etwas krass. Smoothies werden mit Sirup und nicht mit frischen Früchten gemixt. Das Restaurant direkt nebenan ist aber SUPER! Eins der besten in denen wir gegessen haben und auch deutlich günstiger als das Hotel.

Meget stille hotel direkte til stranden. Fine pools. Ingen mennesker. Finishen mangler på det håndværksmæssige. Pænt stort værelse med god seng. Ok morgenmad.
ServeringsPersonalet taler ikke engelsk. Musikanlægget skratter det meste af tiden.
Ingen spiser i hotellets restaurant om aftenen. Hvorimod strandrestauranten lige opad er godt besøgt med god mad.
Dyrt at benytte taxaservice på hotellet. Gå rundt om hjørnet til taxeholdeplads eller benyt taxaapp for meget billigere pris.
Intet i nærmeste by bortset fra spisesteder prøv Mamas. Kun 20 min. Til lufthavn men ingen støj derfra. 1 time til Phuket by.

Fern ab von allem. Man wollte uns (trotzdem für 3 Erwachsene gebucht und bezahlt !!!) mit einem Doppelzimmer abspeisen. Zu dritt in einem Doppelbett !!
Nach ewigem hin und her bekamen wir im leeren Hotel (\"wir sind ausgebucht\") dann doch ein uraltes Zimmer mit 2 Betten. Türe war notdürftig geflickt nachdem sie mal aufgebrochen worden war. Hotel leer, eine einzige alte Bruchbude. Pool am Strand war nicht zu benutzen, Filteranlage defekt.
Gesamter Strand dreckig und vermüllt.

Service de qualité mais hotel mal entretenu

Le personnel est très agréable et aux petits soins. Malheureusement l'état général de l'hôtel ne le rend pas agréable à y séjourner, la propreté n'est pas optimale et les chambres sont vieillissantes. Le lit était dur. L'environnement n'est pas très agréable, l'hotel est bien uniquement pour y séjourner une nuit suite à une arrivée tardive à l'aéroport comme pour nous. Petit-déjeuner correcte avec beaucoup de choix froid/chaud. Pas grand chose autour de l'hôtel à part un distributeur de billets.

Staff were unpleasantly unprofessional. While on check in staffs didn't provide enough hotel information- I understand the language barrier however at least better to put someone who can speak English and AT LEAST explain enough hotel informations at front desk. Same applies while on check-out - process took too much time that I didn't understand there were 4 staffs gathered and chatting while kept me waiting without explanation. Never to this hotel again.

Super séjour, les chambres sont grandes et confortables. Juste un détail, la literie est un peu trop dure à mon avis. Aussi, quand l'hôtel est plein ou presque, il manque des transats au bord de la piscine. Sinon, merveilleuses vacances de 11 nuits.

พนักงานน่ารักมาก ยิ้มแย้มแจ่มใส จองดีลักแต่ได้อัพเป็นสวีท โรงแรมติดหาดไม้ขาว หาดทรายที่สวยและนำ้ใสมาก หากได้กลับมาภูเก็ตจะพักโรงแรมนี้อีกอย่างแน่นอน

Abgewohntes Hotelzimmer

Die Anlage war mit Sicherheit vor 5 Jahren eine hervorragende Adresse. Das Team ist sehr freundlich, aber man merkt am Zustand des Hotel das länger nicht invertiert wurde.
Bei dem Frühstücksbuffet fehlen Standards wie Wurst und Nutella.
Der gesamte Eindruck ist eher lieblos.

Die Lage ist sehr abgeschieden. Gäste die die absolute Ruhe suchen sind hier richtig aufgehoben.
