The room was really nice. I am a housekeeper myself so I accidentally find myself looking for things that are not up to standards. It looked very clean when you first walk in. But as I started looking, I noticed the floor wasn't vacuumed, I found a huge hair clip right on the floor next to the bed and night stand, the toilet had a hair on the seat, and a few smudges on the faucets and mirrors. I'm not trying to complain, but all that is a no no where I work. It's a beautiful hotel though. It needs a indoor pool for sure.

The hotel was convenient to the base and really worked great. It was clean, staff were friendly, the treadmill and elliptical machines were in Great condition. We slept well on comfortable beds and enjoyed the breakfast bar. The coffee was hot and strong- great flavor.

The only downside is the road noise, but nothing they can do about that and hearing it just means it is easy in and out to go sight seeing.

No Safe and some small items are just annoying

There are three issues I'd like to point out...one is important and the other two are small and picky, I'll share them anyway. First - I found that there was no safe in the room unacceptable. I have stayed in a hundred hotels and your Hotel is the first to not have a safe. This true of Hotels in your same category and same target market. I brought some valuable items with me and had no place to secure them. Second...impressions count. the paper towels you provide in the Kitchen are so obviously cheap. They tear and don't pick up the amount of liquid I would have expected. Third: The coffee maker in the kitchen was old...and the dial on the filter is worn away so one doesn't know what one's options are in terms of what I assume is desired strength of coffee I may have wanted. As I say impressions count...i would have higher expectations of any Marriott property over what I assume a Holiday Inn or Motel 6 would offer. The two 'picky' items are so inexpensive to address that I would be disappointed if you didn't take my concerns to heart. I will never stay at this property again, by choice, so I will never know if you address the lack of a safe. Thank you.

Enormous Pet Fees 138 on check in

I chose a pet friendly hotel. The pet fee with tax is $137.50 for one small dog. My dog could’ve gotten his own hotel room elsewhere for that price. I hate huge hidden fees. So I will never stay at another Marriott.

This is to Expedia. I did not get a full kitchen because they did not have a full kitchen. They had a kitchenette.
This is to the hotel. Overall experience was very good. Breakfast was decent and the use for a kitchenette was very handy. The couple complaints I may have is there was a hole underneath a tile floor in the kitchenette that could not be seen but could be felt. Another complaint would be towards parking management. There was TownePlace Suites and Holiday Inn Express practically next to each other. You had a fence separating the two properties. It would have been much more convenient to be able to drive to the other Hotel through the parking lot to pick up other friends instead of going all the way to the street just to get to the other Hotel. I'm not saying you're going to do anything about it, but please consider extending the parking space to where the fence separates the two. It would create extra parking spaces in the future.

I booked a suite, was put in a handicap room( which was fine) however the room from the beginning had a urine smell. I complained to the desk staff about it and they said they would have the room cleaned and have the carpets cleaned. The room after the “cleaning” still had a urine smell. We did not have daily cleaning or towel replacements, only on request. On my last night I had asked if there was any way I could get a percentage off my stay due to the smell and was told that because I had booked it through a third party there was nothing that could be done.
So basically I was stuck in a smelly room for 5 days and no way to get any money back. This is a real problem when going through a third party vendor.

Clean. Insanely expensive pet fee for one nighr. FEE. not deposit. Kind of unheard of in the PNW. Either make it no pets or reduce the fee. Where does that money go? Are you saying pet rooms are cleaned more throughly than non-pet rooms?

And yes. It’s on the website and in the fine print of Expedia so thanks for reminding me the fee is my fault for not reading.

I figured the guy behind the counter was having a bad night when I took 10 to 15 minutes for him to check me in, but to tell me about the fee AFTER my card was scanned as he’s handing me keys felt like a bait a switch. (I know - it’s MY fault)

Never again.

Oh- and if you turn the fan on over the cook top you can drown out the constant door slamming by the stairs for that 125 dollar EXTRA pet “friendly” room.

We were not told in advance that there would be no hot breakfast though it was promoted on the booking site.

The hotel itself okay and the staff was friendly. During my stay, they were not providing daily housekeeping service and only servicing rooms if you were staying longer than a week. Also, we were told that in lieu of a hot breakfast, as the hotel adverises they provide both online and printed directly on the room keys, a very small grab and go breakfast area was set up than only included oramges and granola bars. Pathetic for a Marriott property. The excuse that was given for these changes was covid, although covid is over and the governornof the state has lifted restrictions that were previously in place. It seems that this property is continuing these restrictions to increase their profit as thr room rates were not discounted to adjust for the limited services yet the hotel is providing much less to each guest.

I have stayed at many hotels during covid and many of them either still offered a hot breakfast but had staff serve to guests rather than a help yourself buffet or provided a nicer and more variety of items at a grab and go breakfast area. There are 100s of options that could have been provided in a grab and go area but to provide only oranges and granola bars waa very disappointing and makes me not want to stay at Marriott properties in the future.

Kitchen. 2 small burners, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, 3 pots, toaster, plates, cups and utensils. Very useful since many of the restaurants are not fully open yet.
Room: Large. Bed is comfortable. Small dinning table and chairs. Our room was not facing the freeway, when the window is closed, it's quiet.
TV: we can log on to Netflix so that was great.
Bathroom: large, clean, and lots of hot water.
Cleaniness: there were pretzels scattered on the carpet when we first check-in. Everything else was spotless. Because of Covid, rooms will not be cleaned unless you are staying over 7 days. You can leave your dirty towels and rubbish out by the door. We didn't mind that however wish there were more supplies in the room. The first time I ran out of rubbish bag at night, call the front desk and was told I have to wait till morning because housekeeping had left for the day. After that, I learned to track down cleaning ladies in the hallway.
Location: next to freeway exit and gas station. Very close to Lakewood shopping area.
Over all, we enjoyed our stay. It was the most expensive option in the area, but having a kitchen and dinning table is totally worth it for us.

Perfectly fine (just not quite perfect)

It was clean, quiet, and well maintained. Kitchen was well stocked and space was modern and comfortable. It wasn’t a huge space - kitchen was a bit tight. Biggest complaint is that the black-out curtains don’t extend past the window and fall about an inch short, so when the sun came up before 6am, the curtains were useless and the room was full of light. Not great for light sleepers. I don’t know why the curtains weren’t longer. Also, bed was pretty hard and pillows were stiff. Just not as comfy as you’d like for such a pretty suite.

This hotel is situated right next to I-5, and the traffic is quite loud. However, if you turn on the fan unit in the window, you can drown out some of the noise. We were surprised how quiet the room was, we were on the back side of the hotel and heard very little road noise and no freeway sound. Unfortunately, the CoVid restrictions didn't allow the pool to be open.

We have always stayed at this hotel when we are In Lakewood. This stay was disappointing the room we were in 318 had a AC unit that sounded like we were on a ride at Disneyland taking off. We didn’t spend the night as we were at the hospital with our daughter so we’d come back to the room and take a nap.
Very surprised that there was no discount offered since they weren’t serving breakfast. Since Covid-19 we’ve stayed in other hotels that have a sheet a paper with a few options we give it to the front desk then the employees puts the items together in a container then places it on the table and we pick it up.
