The hotel was very clean, ur room gets cleaned every day. Buffet breakfast was good. Its 3min away from St Marco. Shops,restaurants are 5-6min away. 2 best restaurants next to the hotel. Our room was modern and spacious. Very comfortable bed. ♥️♥️

Amazing. We got the apartment which is just a few steep from the hotel and has a nice canal view. It has everything, a kitchen with all the utensils and even a small oven. Two independent rooms each with a tv. Another tv in the living room (although the remote was not working but did not use a lot anyway). A bathroom with a shower (the shower head was a bit loose but we managed).
A washer to wash clothes (note that these washers are in the smaller size and we had to clean it before use (the only comment that I would suggest). No dryer as here it is customary to hang clothes to air and dry.
The staff was amazing in every way and reception is always staffed so no worries if you ever have a request. We were a family of four and we were super pleasantly surprised.
Close to everything (about 3 min to st marks square) and good restaurants. We only stayed 2 nights but having two rooms with teenage kids made a difference. It is on the expensive side but really enjoyed the experience.

I felt like I was going back in time with this quaint and charming hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, the room was spacious and beautiful, and the close proximity to the Basilica and Doge's Palace made this hotel a perfect spot. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, and if I'm back in Venice will definitely stay there.

The hotel did not match the pictures we viewed prior to booking. We were put in a building down an alley away from the main hotel. We were in a dark room up 5 flights of stairs ( no elevator available). The ceiling in the room was very short. It felt like we were in an attic that was converted to a room. We were the only room on that floor. A very small window in the room and the view was a brick wall. We do not recommend.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the apartment and it was very spacious and well equipped. The location was great and could easily get to all the key spots. It was quiet. I think the apartment could do with a few touch ups but other than that it was a lovely stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone coming to Venice! We also enjoyed the breakfast which we thought was excellent value for money especially when considering the price of breakfast elsewhere in Venice if you went out for it in the cafes near by!!

The room was small, which is understandable but it was also super hot! The A/C did not work, and when we opened the window, the room was full of mosquitoes. No fans or cooling options in the room. The rooms also didn’t have a safe. The hotel asked us to leave our room keys with them whenever we left our room.
The breakfast was bad. Some of the food didn’t seem to be fresh.
Location was great. Lots of shops around and very close to Basilica di San Marco.
Overall, would not recommend!

Check in staff was friendly and room was clean were the positives. But do not stay here. Very not recommended.

Negatives were that although booking days AC is available, it locked is and off end of October which we were not informed of when booking. That sounds a reasonable time frame, until you realize it was over 70 degrees F that day and we were on the fifth floor, so all the heat rose in that building. When we tried opening a window, a crowd of mosquitos trickled into the room and began biting us.

We called the front desk at 1:30 am, covered in sweat and baking in the room unable to sleep. It was at least 80 degrees F in the room at that point. We asked if he could provide a plug in fan after explaining the situation. The front office staff member was dismissive and rude. He said “just open a window.” We told him about the twenty some mosquitos we had killed in the room biting us already. We asked him to come look at the thermostat. He refused initially, saying he was too busy with people coming in—at 1:30 am mind you. When he did come out, he acknowledged that he could feel how sweltering the room was. He said all the plug in fans were locked up for winter some where and he didn’t have time to look for them. He backed out the door while we were talking to him, lacking any empathy or solutions, saying he was going back to his desk and would find us another hotel for that night. This was completely his idea, never called us back. Only slept 2-3 hrs

Friendly staff, great location, comfortable room. There was only 1 outlet in the room at the desk at the foot of the bed. They provided an extension cord for my husbands cpap machine, but charging our devices was complicated and inconvenient. The bathroom was very small and you had to climb over the toilet to get in the shower. It was very clean with a nice hot shower, though.

Our room was very clean. Electric kettle with teas& instant coffee was good. The only complaint in room 405 was the proximity of sink to toilet. It was difficult to get up because it was SO close to sink. I'd imagine a bidet wouldn't be needed as much, that space would be better suited for the toilet.
Robes & slippers were a nice touch.

Wonderful Hotel

We had a great time and this location was perfect. Very clean and welcoming staff. We had help with luggage all the way from our water taxi. Concierge offers complimentary boat ride to Miami glass factory. It was fascinating!! Definitely would book again.

I forgot my purse in my hotel room because I had an early check out to catch water taxi and train to go to Rome. Then I called the hotel to let them know that I left my purse( hung on the wall cuz the room is small) but they told me there was no purse found in the room. I lost a purse , a wallet with some cash , credit card , driver license and medical card and lipsticks. I also wrote to hotel and requested for an investigation but they never responded back. The description was very accurate. We knew going in we would be in the Annex building, up 3 flights of stairs, with no elevator. Front desk staff was very friendly & helpful. Great stay. Lots of dining and bar options everywhere. Major attractions are only a ~5 minute walk away. The bed had some sort of mattress topper that was extremely comfortable. We are from the U.S. and most of the hotels we stayed in during this Europe trip had hard beds, but Hotel Montecarlo had the most comfortable bed.
Being from the U.S., we also really appreciated how big the bathroom and shower was. Compared to other European showers, ours was huge. It made the experience very comfortable.

breakfast was very good and many choices, scrambled eggs, meat, cereals, fresh fruit, cappuccino machine, espresso, tea,pastries, and croissants.. juice.. there was even an afternoon tea between four and six. We could get cappuccino espresso and pastries or tea... two bottles of water in the room.. extremely walkable very close to the waterfront for taxis and getting around if you wanted to do tours walkable to Saint Marks Basilica... highly recommend room was very comfortable. That was comfortable pillows were comfortable. It was even a window for fresh air no view, but I appreciated the window.... highly recommend and would stay here again if ever back in Venice.

This hotel is perfectly located steps away from Piazza San Marco. There are so many fabulous places to eat just steps away, along with gondola rides. Breakfast was great, too, and tea time. It was truly the best, and I would recommend to anyone!!
