This was an excellent location, 5 mins from the Aqua terra Zoo, 20 min walk from the Museum Quarter and 25 min walk from Wiener Stadthalle.
This is a budget friendly hotel with great helpful staff and good amenities. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around so this makes up for no bar or restaurant on site.
breakfast was good and fresh.
It is on the 2nd floor so use of a small life or the stairs. Connection from the airport to Vienna City Airport train was easy and then a connection from Wien Mitte to Neubaugasse U3 underground was also easy.

This appears to be a family-run hotel, with very welcoming staff. The room was a bit outdated, but the bathroom was new. Unlike a traditional hotel with a ground-level lobby, you need to be buzzed in, as the building is shared with other businesses. Construction of a new underground metro means there are quite a few concrete barriers around. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

This hotel would struggle to be 2 Star

How this hotel can claim to be 4-star is astounding beyond measure. Let's start with the good, which is the convenient location and the politeness of the gentleman behind the counter.

But as you go in to the building, the signs are there that this is not what it's meant to be.

An entrance which is better suited to a serviced office of a company which is trying to be inaccessible, rather a 4-star hotel looking to welcome guests. The lift can hold 2 people, or 1 person with luggage, so we had to climb 2 flights of steep stairs and then navigate a confusing maze of corridors to get to reception.

The area looked like something out of a 70's horror movie, but having navigated check-in we went down some steps to our room.

The room layout was initially not bad, with a kitchen area and toilet, followed by a single bed and shower, before a double bed in the main room. We ignored the tacky interior decoration, plus quite a few stains which we noticed. But in 2024, to not have hot water in the toilet, which was poorly lit, that is really unforgivable. So bad, I had to poo in a nearby restaurant on the 2nd day!

I could mention the flooding in the shower or the breakfast which should definitely be given a miss (boiled eggs as the only egg option), but that's not the only flaws.

I hate writing reviews like this, generally feeling that if you've got nothing good to say, then stay quiet. But the fact that this is advertised as a 4-star hotel makes us obligated to warn others!

More Like Two Star Than Four - Not \"Upmarket\"

The location was fine, about half a mile from the Kunstmuseen. It was about 250-300m from the Neubaugasse U-bahn entrances and less than 200m from a Billa supermarket.

There is a gym within 50m so anyone wanting to workout can look at the option of joining for a month or maybe email them and do a deal for a shorter period.

It is not a purpose-built hotel but a couple of floors in an office building.

The room was small and had no tea or coffee making facilities though it had a minibar. There was a decent amount of space for clothing provided by drawers, shelves and hangers.

There was a safe which could accommodate a tablet but not a laptop.

The shower had good pressure bit the wash-hand basin drain developed a leak for which the solution was a bucket.

There was one hand towel, one bath towel and one bath mat provided and they were quite thin.

The heated towel rail gets switched off so if you have been out in the rain and get soaked, good luck with trying to dry clothing.

There was a courtyard for a view and a refuse bin right outside the window.

The breakfast room was too small for the number of guests and the choice of breakfast items was very limited.

I really don't know why this accommodation has a 4 star rating and described as upmar. It looks more like a 2 star standard and has no benefits such as a gym, pool, sauna or the like. I have stayed in 2 star hotels that provide bigger rooms, better options for breakfast and even a bar.

I don't recommend this hotel.

The hotel is excellent if you are looking for a central location in Vienna and basically need it to sleep and continue activities (business or leisure) next day; meaning, it has the basics but nothing else. At the moment (October 2021) the street infront of the hotel is partially “broken up” and closed for traffic so it’s difficult to get there if you don’t know Vienna. Park in the close by in the “Gerngrosse parking” (only 3 minutes away), the hotel will give you a discount rate.

Stayed four nights here. Great value for the price. Very convenient location - underground line U3 is within 50m distance, and the hotel is on one of the main shopping street. There is a supermarket on the basement level of a big department store across the street, and the two restaurants on 5th floor are also worth checking out.

This is a very small hotel, Home away from Home in heart of Vienna. Its just 2 min walk from Metro station and surprisingly bus 13B from the Vienna Central Station, stops just at the door of the hotel, as if it meant for the hotel. Very efficient staff, clean rooms. Good spread for Breakfast.

I really liked this hotel. The location was great and the staff extremely helpful with anything we needed. The breakfast was really good and the room very comfortable. I wrote the hotel a few times before our stay to arrange leaving our luggage for a day, and holding of train tickets that were to arrive by mail; in all my communication with them they were very helpful and gracious. Breakfast was also good, location was great - right by an elevator down to the metro - and the rooms were very nice, comfortable, and clean. This will be my go-to place for the future!

Convenient Hotel in Vienna

We were able to get to our hotel, find parking for the car, and be downtown meeting friends within 30 minutes. The hotel is centrally located with excellent parking facilities. Only 18 Euro per day. The hotel was otherwise very clean and comfortable. I would certainly consider staying again on our next visit.

Lovely family atmosphere welcomed us after a long journey. Everything was catered for and we could access our room early to shower and freshen up. Perfect location to underground, shopping and food and walking distance to all the main sights. Big room with great facilities, clean and comfortable. Very misleading descriptions and photos.

Hotel was in very bad condition. Holes in walls, holes in carpet, bare and visible electric wires. The described 2 bedroom suite was a kitchenette, a bedroom/living room combination and what I would call a large closet with a bed. We had no electricity (no WiFi, Air Conditioning, TV) from 11PM - 4 AM, while Jack hammering was going on in the hotel. At the very least the hotel should have offered a partial refund. All we were offered was a casual \"sorry\"

Very happy with our 4 night stay in this modest but we'll run Pension. Our room was well heated and spacious and the breakfast was generous and of high quality. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is perfectly located, we walked everywhere and Mariahilferstrasse and shopping precinct is at the doorstep.

Centrally located, with very helpful and friendly staff, hotel is a little tired but clean and comfortable, would have liked tea/coffee in room for a 4* but the mini bar not expensive, excellent double glazing keeps out the noise from the street below, adequate continental breakfast with everything fresh and replenished as needed. All in all a pleasant stay with everything we needed and so close to museum quarter etc.

Great Family Stay - highly recommend!

We had a nice stay in the 2 bedroom apartment. it worked out great for our family of 4. The 2nd bedroom is small - but perfect for kids! Breakfast was good. The location is a very useful jumping off point for just about anywhere in the city - Walking or by Underground. The staff were all very kind, friendly and helpful.

Great Location at a good price

This hotel is in a great location, close to shops, public transport, and within walking distance of the Old Town. Our room was clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed and decent sized bathroom. We had storage space and a safe in the room. Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast. The hotel is family run, and our hosts were happy for us to have breakfast before the normal breakfast hours on our last morning so we could leave to catch an early train. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting good accomodation in Vienna at a reasonable price.

This is a Pension. The 4 star rating is misleading. This is not a 4 star hotel. Perhaps this is 4 star according to some classification of Pensions but like other Pensions, this clearly needs to be marked as such.

The hotel is located on a main walking street with lots of stores and restaurants. the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was larger than most and very clean. Great location, fantastic, helpful staff

The hotel has an excellent location. It is a short walk to Museum Quarters and right next to U3 Neubaugasse station. Next door is a top quality food retailer, Merkur. The staff was very helpful. Our family, which included a 9mo, had a flight arriving at 6am to Vienna. Continental Vienna arranged for an early check in for us, allowed us a late checkout, and were exceedingly helpful and polite.

Great trip to Austria

Hotel was in a great location, Close to subway stations, large shopping area and the city center.
The staff was really helpful. Our flight arrived in the morning and we came to drop off our luggage and they got our room ready early so we were able to check in by 10 am. The room was a little small, but the quaint atmosphere was nice. The European breakfast was good each morning.

ok it's a pension. knew that afterwards it's a lower rank of hotels in Germanic areas.
'the location is quite ok to the museum Quarter and a big shopping street is just outside. got quite some good stuff by the big shopping mall nearby. also bars, the aquarium and the Saturday open market is accessible by walking distance.
stuff is really nice. forgot my tooth brush but he insisted to bring us to the room rather than us going up to get it.. very good explanation of the surroundings upon our arrival. but the breakfast is a total failure, no nice coffee, not fresh bread, no fruit salad, no hot plates which is normal basic for a 4 star.

Very convenient hotel but facilities torn down

Family run hotel. We arrived AT&T he hotel to find out that our family room is actually located about two blocks away. We have to drag all our luggage along the street.

We then arrived at our room, which is ok, but nothing to brag about. The room was still in cleaning when we arrived, although we arrived around 2-3 in the afternoon. We put down our things and went for a walk. The staff mentioned that the phones are not working and that if there is anything we need, we can go to reception (which is two blocks away).

We went back and forth as we noticed that the ventilation was down in toilets, and that the washing machines broke down and even has some stagnant water that smells stink. We accidentally put our clothes in without noticing the water inside and had to throw away our clothes.

When we told the staff, they told us that service will only come in 3 days and we can get our clothes to them to wash, free-of-charge.

The following morning we took our clothes over and the staff told us that if we take more clothes in, they will have to charge us. What?

We just did not argue and decided to stay and check out without trying to cause any troubles. But we will definitely NOT recommend this to others.

Our rooms were nonsmoking rooms and labeled as such. Check in was fine with rooms in good condition. After a day of touring and return, one room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke (vents?). We told the desk about this problem and it was noted. However, nothing was done or no compensation offered. The next night my daughter had to switch rooms with my husband to sleep because the smell was worse. Again the desk was unconcerned when informed a second time. I would not recommend this hotel for non smokers.

Good location

Old European hotel, close to great shopping. Room was very dated, and the one bed had a broken mattress. There is a lift, but you must go up 6 steps to get to it. Reception is on the first floor, through a maze of corridors. Didn't try the breakfast - can't comment.

Great location but poor accommodations

We had the double rooms sleeping 4 (rooms 19 and 20). The rooms faced a very busy and noisy street. The air conditioning did not work and the breakfast was meager.

It ticks all the boxes for me

I wanted somewhere handy for the station, the U-bahn, and the places I wanted to go during my one-night stay. It was comfortable, reasonably priced, and the modest breakfast suited me perfectly. I've stayed there twice and will do so again.

A nice stay in Vienna in May 2012.

I chose this hotel because of its central location (close to the museums quarter) and it was competatively priced.The hotel was clean and tidy although a bit now needs to be spent to sharpen up the decor based on the room I was in.Always found the staff friendly and responsive to any questions I had.Overall I would be quite happy to return to this hotel however I would rate it as a superior 3 star hotel rather than 4 star.

Great Place in Vienna!

This was the perfect place for my stay in Vienna. It's roughly equidistant to both the train station and the city center, with a metro station stop). We had a wonderful visit. The staff were all superb and incredibly eager to assist. The hotel is tremendously secure. Our room was huge. The bathroom was remodeled and lovely. The closet had a safe. The TV had cable news stations in english. And, their breakfast is great; they provided us with a caraffe of the best coffee we tried in all of Vienna.

We absolutely LOVED this hotel. If you are looking for a place with a 24 hour concierge and turn down service, this might not be your place, but if you are looking for a rather spacious, friendly, authentic experience, you MUST stay here. Our stay was fabulous! (In addition, they held our luggage after we checked out, giving us the opportunity to continue exploring the city! Wonderful hotel!

We liked it very much but room very small We paid 155 euro per night too much for a pension otherwise location perfect but a pensoin not a hotel so should have been cheaper Staff nice They gave us coffee pot and coffee ...Very close to museums and Nashmarkt

Continental Hotel Vienna - excellent for 3 people

We had the apartment which was super, very comfortable, good fridge and sitting area. Do not be put off by the entrance via a doorway between shops, once you are in the hotel it is fine. Very good central location just beside the underground. Staff very helpful, they tried really hard to get what you needed - printing out boarding cards, sorting out a problem with the CAT transfer tickets etc. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate. Cheap for 3 people and would definitely stay there again.

It is an old hotel and the rooms are very unpleasant. The bathroom is very ugly, all is made with plastic. The breakfast is very poor and it is served in the reception. Location is the only good point of this hotel.
