Lovely little hotel. Clean large rooms and bathrooms. We were pleasantly surprised to have a mini fridge in our room! Find it rare to get one in Europe. The two ladies at the lobby were lovely. A breakfast is available every morning. Simple but good.
The best was you could walk or take public transit to a majority of Christmas markets within 15! The bus and subway were right next to hotel and main tram station was a five minute walk.
Only thing is the hotel sign is rather small and can easily be missed! Not your traditional hotel entrance...you need to go up a fight of stairs to take the elevator (or you can continue up the stair if you so choose....we did not!) up to the lobby where you'll ring the bell. Not really handicapped accessible (unless we missed a back entrance)
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again

Doors were difficult to lock and unlock (real key not typical hotel key cards), one man who works there was extremely rude, but other staff members were pleasant. Room was not really cleaned each day, just bed made. Free breakfast was fine. Not an ideal hotel for suitcase luggage. You need to haul it up a flight of stairs before reaching a very small elevator and the door ways are extremely narrow as well. Location was ideal for many attractions.

Very quaint little hotel right across from the Volksteater, and steps away from the two major museums (Natural History and Art). Hard to find at first - go to the floor marked 1, not what we Americans think of as the first floor) but very nice once you figure it out.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Pension Museum on Museumstrasse, near the Volkstheater. In a nod to its famous neighborhood, the rooms and hallways are adorned with interesting artwork, giving it a funky yet cozy vibe. The wonderful staff are helpful and eager to make your stay a pleasant one. The breakfast buffet offers an array of delicious foods ranging from sweet to savory, healthy to indulgent. We looked forward to having our coffee in the bright and elegant breakfast room every morning. If we are ever fortunate enough to visit Vienna again, we will choose to stay here.

A good experience. Check in was hard to navigate as the check in is on the 1st floor which is really the third floor. When you enter the building there’s only a stairwell. Another guest pointed out the elevator in the corner and then it was easy to find.

The complementary breakfast was wonderful. Bathroom new and spacious. I had a single room so it looked over the back courtyard but was reasonably priced.

My refrigerator was broken, but eventually they were able to replace it. Nice to have chilled water, fruit and snacks for the room.

The location was excellent. Walked all over and it’s close to the subway and many of the museums and palaces. A very walkable city.

Just behind the hotel was a local neighborhood with a grocery store and many restaurants.

The manager arranged a taxi for me on my last day, he was very helpful.

I would stay there again.

There are stairs to climb to get to the lift so if you struggle with a few stairs its not for you. Reception door is locked 24/7 and you always need to buzz it if you are on a different floor even to get to breakfast. Staff helpfulness and friendliness variable. Location fantastic , room great though the lighting was subdued for my taste.

The location of this property can't be beat!! It's easy walking distance to the museums, Hofburg, dining, subway and the Innerstadt. The staff was friendly and helpful. The European breakfast was good and I found the older building quite charming. The bed was firm but very comfortable (and I normally prefer a soft bed - everyone's preferences are different). I found the small refrigerator to be very helpful. The was a GREAT choice for my Vienna trip!

I had a lovely, fuss-free experience at the Hotel Pension Museum. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked a single room but was given a (massive) double room with a balcony! Comfy beds, no air-con which I imagine could be a problem in the summer, but I just opened the door to the balcony and it was quiet enough that this didn't pose an issue. Very very convenient area if you are planning to visit lots of museums / the city centre. The free breakfast and coffee machine is also a nice perk. I would definitely return. Thanks!

You name it and I will tell you I like it. Location? - nothing better to dream about: quiet, surrounded by beautiful trees, fresh air, easy to reach everything you need… Rooms? - clean and cozy with comfortable beds and sofas, with snowwhite “my grandma’s” style curtains on each window, with set of shiny tableware and cookware, stove and fridge if excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner offered by Agnes are not enough for you… I felt here as I was at home, even better, because I was generously taken care of… I love you, Agnes on Honvéd street!

We were in Vienna to visit Christmas markets and museums. The hotel is very centrally located and just a few minutes walk from the nearest ones.

The hotel is on a single floor in an old building. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Ours was warm and the shower was good. It is on a side street and we were not disturbed by street noise other than the occasional emergency vehicle.

The buffet breakfast was very good with a wide range of meats, cheeses, fruit etc and the coffee was brewed in one of those beans-to-cup machines.

A very unique hotel!! It is situated on the 1st and 3rd floors of a building that looks gorgeous from the outside. It could use some tlc however the bed was very comfy, room was quite spacious for European standards, there was plenty of hot water in the updated bathroom and the breakfast was terrific... especially if you love cheese!!! The staff were very pleasant and we would definitely stay again. The location is great!

If are traveling in the summer we don’t recommend this pension, there is no air conditioning, they only provide a fan, but not enough for a big room and the humidity.
Otherwise they have good breakfast and excellent personal attention.

I stayed here for a conference and I am glad I did! The owner was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is outstanding and the rooms are large and nicely furnished. Finally, the location cannot be beaten -- it is quiet and relaxed while being only a few minutes walk from the Museum Quarter and the City Center.

Fabulous hidden gem near Neubau. Ideally located for Museums. We were in another building around the corner from main hitel with reception and breakfast room. The breakfast is really good great choices . The room 01 was huge although the ensuite tad small but appreciate it voujd not be extended furtger into the room due to double doors . It had a goid showercwith hot water.

Overall a great place to stay. It’s very central so no need to buy a travel pass. Definitely a pension rather than a hotel, arranged over the first and third floors of the building. The room we had was huge and I liked the styling. Beds were firm and I had a great night’s sleep. The only facility was the breakfast room. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. There several good restaurants within walking distance. Book ahead on Saturday night as it’s really busy. I would stay here again.

The location was amazing for exploring Vienna. Right next to the metro station and museum quarter. There is a spar sho also got buying any food or drink you may need a few doors down.

The room had a great view with a balcony and the room was massive.

The hotel reception closes at 10pm so you have your own key to the building entrance and entrance to room and floor of the building.

The rooms don't have a safe and other niceties but it's not a 5 star hotel anyway.

The breakfast was continental and buffet style with a good selection and the staff are all helpful and friendly.

Overall : A no frills boutique hotel in a great location with spacious rooms

This was a lovely Vienna hotel. However, Expedia should have warned us that there were many stairs to climb prior to reaching the lift that took us to the lobby. It was very difficult to lug a suitcase and a carry on, up the stairs and back down when we were leaving. Also, I had called the hotel to ask them to have a taxi for us at the airport when we arrived and was told the cost 35 euro and someone would be there with a sign with my name on it it. No taxi -- took a airport taxi which costs us 47 euro. When we were leaving, the hotel did book us a taxi and we were told 30 euro. The cost was 35 euro. It would have been nice to have the correct info up front. Also shower did not drain properly and when I told someone about it, they said just don't run the water at full strength. On a positive note room an people were nice. Nice breakfast in morning. Probably would not stay there again mainly because of the stairs.

Convenient location, unique decor, little too loud

PROS: In the heart of downtown Vienna and steps away from public transit, you really can't get better value for your dollar. The building is older, decor eclectic, a place full of charm. I had a great view of the city through floor-to-ceiling glass doors that opened onto my personal balcony. There were lovely wooden floors, plenty of hot water, and great water pressure. And the front desk employee (owner?) was polite, helpful, and anticipated my needs.

CONS: You can hear everything going on in the building. Any conversation in the hall, the doors opening and closing. I'm pretty certain I heard conversations from the room below mine. I also am not a huge fan of the sink design (at least in my room) - it's quite shallow and was impossible not to splash everywhere. The drain in the shower didn't drain quickly, so within 2-3 minutes I was standing in water. There were some mold issues in the caulking as a result.

I took quite some time to pick a hotel for Vienna trying to pick something with a good price that still provided breakfast, this had both and was located 2mins walk from a metro which is easy to use and you will be advised to use it. I was a bit worried about a complicated arrival as we were coming in very late and they were going to leave us a key but this was no problem at all, hotel is easy to find and instruction very clear. The breakfast was very good with a variety of options to set you up for the day. The rooms are very spacious. I could be picky as we all could but honestly I would stay here again as it had everything I would expect, very good value for money. The staff could turn the phones down to a bare minimum when they start there day that would be my only tip for a better stay, I can whistle the ring tone even now.

I have never stayed at a pension before so I didn’t know what to expect. This is more of a bed and breakfast type of establishment with extremely friendly
Staff and beautiful dining area with complimentary delicious breakfast. Only issue was it was very warm in Vienna and the room had no air conditioning so I had to sleep with the window wide open which meant not ideal sleep.

The location is superb, you are living almost inside the Museum Quarter. There are numerous options of transportation close to the apartment, both U2/U3 and a variety of trams. The room is spacious and clean. The view is great (we had the rooftop of the Volkstheater). The street is quiet. There are a lot of posh bars and coffee shops nearby.
We were accommodated not in the main building, but in another one next street, about 3 minutes’ walk. It is inconvenient, especially when it is cold and rainy outside, and you need to walk back and forth to the breakfast, which is served in the main building, and then go back to your apartment, to use the bathroom, for example. It is also inconvenient in case you travel by yourself (you need to drag your luggage around), or with little children, or with disabled people. At least you expect to be noticed regarding this fact upon booking. The room number one, in which we were accommodated, is next to the coffee machine in the corridor. The coffee is great, but the noise it makes is terrible.
The stuff might be friendlier. I realize that they are preoccupied, and still it could be nice to get a welcoming tip (for example, that you are better to reserve a restaurant for Christmas eve, since a lot of places are closed, and others are fully booked). It is important especially for tourists that are less familiar with the Christmas routine. Also, the sarcastic tone of and badly tasted jokes (sometimes quite antisemitic) are a disappointment.

Amazing hotel, would definitely recommend

My sister and I spent two nights here and loved it - would really recommend. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful, and we got some great tips on places to go, especially for drinks and meals out.

The room was bright and spacious and really clean, with a beautiful view. We slept well both nights and the breakfast offered loads of choice.

And on top of that the hotel is so well located! Near lots of lovely restaurants and walking distance from everything we wanted to see in Vienna.

The hotel was within walking distance of so many museums, and the underground subway stop. The staff were super friendly and kind. The room was incredibly spacious!! Unfortunately, the bed was as hard as the floor!!! Incredibly uncomfortable!! Sleep was restless. But everything else was so nice, that it sort of made up for it. Only other complaint was how thin the walls were to the room next to me. I could hear the person next door snoring every night. Also, It was hard to find a spare plug to use, I had to end up unplugging the lamp next to the bed (the only unused outlet was in the bathroom). The bathroom had shower gel and shampoo, toiletry kit, shower cap, slippers, soaps. The Breakfast was a decent variety of meats, cheese, yogurt, fruits, breads, etc.

An OK place to stay in the cooler months

Overall, we didn't enjoy our stay as much as we should have. The bed was rock hard and uncomfortable. At the time of our visit to Vienna it was an average daytime temperature of 35 - very hot. Our room didn't have air conditioning or a fan and was very, very uncomfortable, which detracted from our holiday. I asked for the use of an iron but wasn't supplied an ironing board - very frustrating.

Once inside the building, signage is very poor ie: wasn't very clear what floor the Hotel reception was on, as it is a shared building with other tenants. We weren't impressed with the amount of stairs to carry our heavy luggage over and the lift was very, very small.

On the positive side, the wifi was good, the buffet breakfast more than adequate and the staff were mostly helpful. The bathroom was good and had been upgraded. The location was excellent (the main reason we chose it) as it was close to all of the hop on, hop off buses, other transport, eateries etc.

Was it Robbery or Just Confusion

Though I had reserved the room two months earlier, two days before I arrived the hotel informed me they were overbooked and they had reserved a room for me at a nearby hotel. Though my reservation was pre-paid, the Pension did not refund my money or transfer it to the second hotel. I am in the process of trying to get my money back. Hotels. com declined any interest in helping me out, nor did Hotels.com even know my reservation had been cancelled. In short, my money was stolen and neither the hotel nor Hotels.com has, thus far, taken any responsibility for helping resolve the issue.

To get to the reception and breakfast area, you have to climb a flight of stairs and then take a lift. Not ideal if you have a lot of luggage! Reception is only open from 7.30am.

Then my room was... back down the lift, down the stairs, 3 minute walk down the road, into another entrance and up 5 floors in another (very old but reliable) lift.

The room was large, nice big windows, desk, decent bed. The tea/coffee facilities were in the lobby. Bedside tables were miniscule.

Location is good and hotel is nice and clean. Breakfast was good too. An air conditioning would have been nice. At checkout though we were given a bill for the stay even though the room was already paid. The manager wasn't there yet, only the lady peparing the breakfast and she spoke little english. I showed her the booking email and that it said it was fully paid. She let us go since we will be late for our ride to the airport saying it was not really her problem but the managers. I told her that my credit card is in their file anyway.

Super friendly staff. We arrived early- 9am- and they offered us coffee and breakfast. Of course our room was not ready but they took our luggage so we could go out and about. Our room was large and even had a nice view. Most rooms in Europe for this price are half this size. Breakfast was a basic continental buffet. The location was very good. It was an easy walk to the U-bahn station, tram stop, and sites like the Rathaus and the Opera. I would definitely reccomend this hotel.

Stayed here for three nights, I was very satisfied with my room and the location. First, the room was very big and spacious. The decoration was fine. The sofa could be extended to become a bed. I think it could be available for more than two people. Second, the location was really great. Very close to the metro station Volkstheater and there's a supermarket and many restaurants around. Easily walkable to tourist attractions. Third, the breakfast was fabourlous with different varieties. I really enjoyed staying there. Free Wifi seemed to be off at midnight.

The owner of this hotel is on site and very gracious. He could not do enough to help with details of Vienna as well as his hotel. Breakfast had a large selection. The room was very large and comfortable. Bath was fully up to date and very clean. The WiFi is marginal and we had to seek out better signals to make calls.

Staff very helpful, hotel/room very clean

A very pleasant stay for 4 nights. Suggested transport cost savings offered. Room quite large with refurbished bathroom. Very close to Volkstheatre u-station. Close to museum quarter but quite a walk into the centre of the old town. Offer of using central tea/coffee machine (up to 10pm) was appreciated.

Great service, friendly and very helpful staff. The room was huge (by European standards), very clean, and had a great view.

I did have a little trouble locating the hotel front, but the location was great. The condition of the hardwood floors was a little old, and some of the doors, and furniture and lighting needed some updating to be a 5 star review, but the hotel had a nice character and was overall a great value and is suggested.

The breakfast buffet was good. The location--next to the museum quarter and a subway station--was excellent. The room was spacious. However, the mattress was too hard and the lack of air conditioning, or even a ceiling fan, created discomfort in 90 degree weather.

Odalar temizdi, banyosu geniş ve banyoda kullanabilecegoniz sabun, sampuan, krem.vb malzemeler kaliteliydi. Odalarda ekstra olarak bornoz vardi, terlik vardı. Kahvaltı Avrupa otellerine göre cesit fazlaydı.

Idealement placé (a proximité du museum quartier), j'y ai passé un excellent sejour. La chambre etait tres spacieuse et lumineuse, le lit confortable. Tres bonne insonorisation avec la rue, un peu moins avec les chambre (j'entendais les co.versations de mes voisins).

Das Hotel liegt sehr Central.
Das Zimmer zum Hof raus war ruhig. Leider kann man die Fenster nicht ankippen.
Negativ ist das es jeden Morgen das gleiche zum Frühstück gibt, Abwechslung wäre Gastfreundlich. Der Betreiber des Hotels ist nur zu auserwählten Gästen freundlich.

Otel olarak lanse edilmiş ancak aslında pansiyon niteliğinde bir yer. Girişi rezalet halde. Resepsiyon hizmeti neredeyse yok denecek kadar yetersiz. En ciddi güvenlik sorunu ise, odanın anahtarıyla pansiyonun dış kapısının da açılabilmesi. Bu durum, diğer odaların anahtarlarının da sizin odanızı açabilme ihtimalini doğuruyor.

İşletme sahibi iletişim konusunda oldukça zayıf; ciddi, mesafeli ve profesyonel bir izlenim vermeye çalışsa da bu tutumu misafirperverlikten uzak. Tek artı yönü çalışkanlığı diyebilirim.

Konum ve kahvaltı dışında tesisin genel koşulları oldukça yetersizdi. Kahvaltıda sunulan bazı ürünlerin “helal” olduğu belirtilmişti ancak bu konuda gerekli hassasiyetin gösterilmediği anlaşılıyordu. Tüm bu olumsuzluklara rağmen fiyatların oldukça yüksek olması da ayrıca hayal kırıklığı yarattı.
