Well located hotel, walking distance to Opera house, Hoffburg and Kunsthistorishes Museum.

We arrived at Le Méridien Vienna feeling excited, especially after being told we were getting a room upgrade. Unfortunately, that was where the good part of the experience ended. What followed was far from a true 5-star stay.

Room & Facilities Issues:

The fridge didn’t work, and we had to contact reception twice before anyone came to fix it.

The TV remote wasn’t working.

The jacuzzi was dirty, with sand and debris inside. We reported it on the first day and were told that the entire spa — including the jacuzzi — would be cleaned the next day. After the “cleaning,” it was still full of sand and dirt.

Our room had stairs before resching it on the floorr which made it extremely impractical to move suitcases around.

Spa & Safety Concerns:

I actually got stuck inside the sauna because the door wouldn’t open. When we mentioned this, the spa manager casually said that “if you get stuck, just yell and I’ll come open it.” Not exactly reassuring and certainly not what you expect in a luxury hotel.

Service Issues:

We received no help with our suitcases when we arrived.

Amenities were only provided on request, meaning you don’t get anything unless you specifically ask — something I’ve never experienced in a hotel claiming to be 5-star.

Overall, the hotel seriously needs to rethink both its maintenance standards and customer service. The experience did not come close to the level of quality or comfort expected from a 5-star property. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend

Great location. Rooms are clean and nice but a bit outdated especially in the bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is excellent with an omelette station and a great selection (but unfortunately no fresh squeezed orange juice like other Le Meridien hotels we have stayed at). Most of the front desk staff are very nice and knowledgeable. We had a slightly bizarre check-in experience though (not recognizing our Bonvoy perks). Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Great location to stay for visiting museums and attending concerts.

The room we got was different than the photos because instead of full windows it had transom windows up high, which means the room had no view out the windows at all. We paid 500 Euros per night for one of the upgraded room options; would have expected more. The 7th floor rooms should be a separate booking option at a lower price.

A few little things broken in the room. Lots of space in the 500 square foot corner unit, but the room is not layed out well so there arent good places to put your things, and the bathroom is sort of tucked past a mini hallway. There is plenty of room for furniture and better organization but they went for gimmicky glass and weird furniture instead. I hated the huge heavy glass bathroom door....which often goes *booooonggggg* as it releases from its catch and startles whoever is sleeping. I could hear booongggs from adjacent rooms throughout our stay. Also some weird buzzing noises coming from the walls every 2.5 minutes of the whole stay (my wife was annoyed enough that she timed it).

They focus on being pretentious-fancy with prosecco at check-in and cute blue lighting in the elevators, etc.... instead of actually making it a great hotel.

We liked the large bathtub and shower, and the bed was comfortable.

I read about noisy Ac on other reviews and it seemed it was a hit or a miss.
I contacted the hotel 3 days prior to my arrival and requested a room with no issues.
They claimed they never received my message.
Sure enough very noisy Ac in my room (653).
The breakfast is sub par.
Location is very central but for $850 for 2 nights, I was not pleased and will not return to this property in the future.

While reception was welcoming and housekeeping did a great job, our overall comfort was significantly disturbed. The air conditioning did not work properly, and when we called, staff promised to bring us two fans. After waiting an hour with no response, we had to follow up, and only then did someone ring our doorbell at 11 p.m. — nearly waking our baby — to deliver just a single small desk fan. I even emailed the front desk requesting a room change to one with working AC, but instead of accommodating that, engineering insisted the AC was “within standards,” left a note, and unlocked the windows while leaving the AC running at the same time. Not only is this inefficient, but it also made the room humid, noisy from the outside, and allowed mosquitoes to come in, disturbing rest even further. It felt like a box-checking exercise rather than a real solution.

Despite disclosing we were traveling with a baby, the bed provided was basically a single bed, unsafe for an infant who could easily roll and fall. We requested two extra pillows through the Marriott app to help protect the baby and because one of the adults had to sleep on the cot provided — yet only one pillow was delivered. On top of that, the in-room ironing board was dirty and unusable, the bathroom sink drain was clogged with hair from prior guests, and there was visible black mold in the bathroom.

For a hotel marketed as 5-star, we expected a restful and accommodating stay, but instead faced unnecessary stress.

The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting all parts of the city using underground and trams.
The staff are all exceptionally helpful and friendly.
The bedroom was particularly spacious and well equipped with coffee machine and kettle. Bathroom very clean with a super shower and roll-top bath.

It was 24 degrees outside and the a/c in my room will not work properly. So the fan needed to be put to the maxed and it was noisy. I couldn’t sleep all night. When tried to call reception at M1M3, the phone was not labeled right and even I pressed all buttons, no call was connected. It was my last day in Vienna so I reserved Le Meridien to try it out. Never again.

Bathroom was really dingy....lots of dark stains and hard water stains around the shower, and water kept flowing into the rest of bathroom. The shower/bathroom was poorly designed with floor pitching away from the shower, and there is no lip/edge to prevent water from just flowing out of the shower into the rest of the bathroom. I Asked Front desk to at least fix or change out the shower head so I could stand a little further away to reduce this \"flooding\" of the bathroom. After a whole day out, I came back to see really nothing was done, even though front desk lady said \"it was fixed\", and I asked if anyone actually even entered the room, and she said she didn't know!! How do u \"fix a shower\" without entering the room? I know tech is progressing fast, but so far(thankfully) there are no e-showers just yet that can get a wifi update! LOL! I flatly asked the lady if they just tell people whatever to make them go away, and she said no blah blah...I said thanks for your time and left it at that.
After the 2 days, I came back to find a new shower head!
So, clearly the 1st \"it's all fixed\" response on day1 was not correct.
It's insulting to my intelligence if Le Meridien staff think I will NOT know the difference!
We kept having to mop up the water after every shower and dry the tower and repeat at next shower use.
Property shows its age. Usually, outside the US, Marriott hotels are absolutely awesome...this one, with the dingy bathroom, is NOT.

This is a splendid hotel with a fantastic view, and a lovely treat basket awaited our arrival. Unfortunately, although the balcony level has air conditioning, it was wholly inadequate for days with temperatures above 26°C/80°F. It proved challenging to sleep at night, which is not what one expects for such an expensive room. A more localized AC unit, not inadequate central air, is needed. The brunch is very nice.

This is a nice hotel in a central location, close to public transportation and walkable to all attractions. It is a very busy hotel and the staff is doing a good job to help everyone. The room is spacious, however, the beds are of European style, meaning, they placed two double beds together for me and my husband to sleep. The third bed for our child is very flimsy.
The room is not terribly up to date, however, my biggest issue with the room is its air conditioning system. Each time the a/c was turned on, it caused us to sneeze. It is likely the a/c duct hadn’t been cleaned properly and harbored allergens. As it was summer and a heat wave was present, we had no choice but to turn on the a/c.
Other than that, this was a good hotel for visiting Vienna.

It was during a heat wave in vienna. We asked for it to be fixed and they claim it was fixed and that air conditioning in vienna is not that great because it’s often not used. After two days we just gave up and sucked it up. Won’t stay there again

Things were generally good but I paid for a room with queen bed and view. Instead got two twin beds and 1/2 view. And I was there on time, actually early. I was too tired to ask for another room when I arrived, but regretted not demanding the queen bed as the single bed was quite uncomfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Le Méridien Vienna. The location is amazing — everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful, and the place felt really clean and well-kept. What made things even easier was the Marriott Bonvoy app; I just texted them whenever we needed something, and they took care of it right away. It made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. Another great stay at the Meridien in Vienna

Great hotel in the centre of Vienna just a couple of minutes walking distance away from the Opera, main shopping area and other atractions like the Hofburg. Very nice restaurant and bar with a lot of food and drink options. The spa is ok including an indoor pool and jackuzzy but the water temperature of the pool was to cold.
