There are a lot of stairs when you go in. You can avoid them by entering the hallway to the north, go to the 5th floor and wind around to the elevator. We had trouble checking in. Mostly my fault.

Overall, this was a pretty terrible experience. The opera 1 penthouse suite photos displayed on Expedia do not represent the actual apartment. The apartment air conditioning did not work, ant infestation, locks did not work, no safety evacuation plan, broken door, steps to the loft were coming apart, shower and sink would not drain, and furnishings are different than reflected in the photos. In my opinion, this is a complete misrepresentation of the lodging and I would suggest if you are going to Vienna, look for somewhere else to stay. This place is a nightmare.

Pros - Location is amazing, apartment is very large and spacious, views are awesome (see attached). Good selection of restaurants and grocery stores within a 2 minute walk. Almost perfect.

Cons - the apartment does need a little updating. New washer / drier, coffee maker, and a fresh coat of paint would work wonders.

Terrible communication. Elevator starting on second floor, first two levels only stairs. Construction work in the nearby apartments. Before we checked out, some maintenance workers got inside our apartment and starting measuring things, interfering in a very rude way with our checkout process.

The view was amazing, plenty of windows overlooking the opera house. Some things were unfortunately in disrepair. For instance. the door on one of the bedrooms was broken at the hinge, making it very difficult to open and close. If all of the problems are fixed, this would be an amazing property. I loved how close everything was. Many museums were just a short walk away,.

We stayed at the apartment “top 20” at the top floor of the building. Beautiful view from the balcony with plenty of room for up to 6 people to stay. Rooms were clean. The kitchen was nice. Location was great - walking distance to attractions like Stephansplatz and the Opera House. Subway stations close by also!

Penthouse in Vienna

A very spacious European penthouse! The view from the terrace is amazing! There are three bathrooms - two full, one half. The apartment is clean. There is an elevator in the building; however, we did take to the stairs as well. I don't advise the stairs if you are not capable of walking five stories. The building is very safe and the neighborhood is in a great location. Vienna is absolutely amazing. This penthouse apartment was our home away from home (USA) for 9 days. It had all the amenities we needed -- full kitchen, dining room, coffee maker, iron, washer/dryer and hair dryers. Make sure to bring your adapters/converters if coming from another country. The management of the property was easy to contact if necessary. They were very accommodating to us and replied very quickly. We didn't really need them for anything. They arranged for a taxi for our return to the airport, and their prompt service was greatly appreciated. We would definitely return to Vienna and stay at Deustchel Apartments again. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Great location and accommodations

The apartment was in a terrific location, 2 blocks from the Art Museum and the Natural History Museum, 4 or 5 blocks from the Hofburg and the Albertina Museum, and within easy walking distance of St. Stephan's Cathedral. It was also within walking distance of 5 or 6 Christmas markets and a short underground ride to Schonbrunn Palace and the wonderful zoo there, which my grandchildren adored. The Opera House was only two blocks away. This four-bedroom apartment worked well for our family of 6 adults plus two small children (one used the crib provided), with a large living room and dining area for the children to play in. Two terraces had splendid views of the St. Stephan's Cathedral tower (lit up for Christmas) and the Rathaus Tower and exterior lit up for Christmas. We ate out most of the time, but the kitchen facilities were more than adequate for our needs. There were two baths, plus a washing machine (no dryer, but they had a drying rack that worked well for everything but towels which dried slowly, but there were plenty of extra towels in the storage closet for us to use). There were small, modest restaurants within a block or two of the apartment which suited us well, plus grocery stores not far away. One night my son and his wife ate at a Michelin starred restaurant that was within easy distance by taxi. Uber also provided us with excellent service. The apartment is right on the Opernring so there were plenty of trams and U stations within a few blocks or less of the apartment. Altogether, this was an ideal 6th floor apartment (with elevator) in a very attractive building, with surprisingly little noise considering we were in the city center. We enjoyed our stay there and would rent this apartment again.

It was amazing stay. Host was very friendly and informative. The only issue was non availability of luggage storage at time of check out. Our train was at 9 PM and we had to struggle to find luggage storage. If the apartment management can arrange some luggage storage in advance would had been very helpful.

Best location and the horrible communication. Absolutely very difficult to talk and to get the response from owner/ manager when we needed. Not describe the true picture of the property./about 30 steps to upstair before you can use the elevator it’s extremely hard with 40-50 lbs luggage.

Beware: not recommended due to cleanliness and inaccurate listing.

We stayed in one of the units and were extremely disappointed.

The unit was thrashed. The walls have marks and dirt, the floors were dirty, the dishes in the cabinet were dirty (lipstick marks on the wine glasses for example), the toilet seat was broken...the list goes on. We had to rewatch all the dishes ourselves. It also advertises a clothes dryer in the listing but there was none. This unit was in very rough shape and was not well cared for.

While the location is great and the actual layout of the unit was fine (and the A/C worked well), that was all it had going for it. However, the photos don’t represent the units available well and as a result it felt like a bait-and-switch. You would expect a great view and a balcony/terrace by the photos but that was not the case with our unit.

The listing agent does have more units in the building and some of them may be stellar, but our experience was not and unless they address the issues we would not recommend staying with them.

Our family of 5 stayed for a week in the Albertina 3 apartment. It was lovely, spacious, clean and perfect for our family. The living room was nice and comfortable, and the bedrooms were large, with plenty of space for our things.
The location can't be beat - it is just around the corner from the lovely Pedestrian Plaza with shops, restaurants, and a nearby Bila (Supermarket). Close to the Metro Stop to easily get around Vienna, too.
The Air Conditioning was much appreciated during our visit - as it was quite warm in July! And we appreciated the Washer & Drying Rack too.

If we are fortunate enough to return to Vienna, we would definitely look to stay here again!

We were 6 adults and 4 kids. We informed from the airport when we left. Inspite of the same, there was nobody at the apartment to ensure speedy checkin. We had to wait for good 15-20 mins and call only to know that the person is on his way and will reach any moment. Next day morning, there was no Hot water in the taps and we had to bath in freezing cold water. Inspite of complaining very early in the morning, there was no redressal/revertal or action. The message was also seen as per whatsapp. Further, The apartment is on the top floor of the building and the next day, the lift was not working and we had to walk up 5 floors.

Stunning apartment overlooking the Vienna Opera House. We had a penthouse apartment. Very clean, spacious, unbelievable views. Highly recommend. It was pricey, but worth every penny. We saw an Opera. Great location, not sure there's a better one in Vienna. The only issue is we had a hard time finding it. Once we did, the office staff was great, friendly and helpful. We had several activities planned and loved them all. If you're visiting Vienna the Duschel Apartments are every bit the great reviews received.

Great location!

The location can't be beat. It is in the heart of Vienna, Stephandom is visible from the balcony and the shopping district is literally at your doorstep. Most major sites are within walking distance and for those that are a little further away (i.e., Schonbrunn Palace), there are 2 U-Bahn stations within easy walking distance.

The management team was great. We had a medical emergency while in Vienna. Florian and team told us which hospital to go to and provided the address. While spending a few hours at the hospital wasn't on our agenda for the day, it wasn't nearly as stressful as it could have been.

One clarification that I would like to see on the listing is in regards to the bathrooms. To an American, a \"bathroom\" generally means a toilet and shower/bath in the same room. This apartment had 3 showers/baths but only 2 toilets and the toilets were in completely separate rooms. Not a huge deal for us, but it could be a problem or issue for some people.

Fabulous location, felt like home!

My family of four (twin 13 year old girls plus husband) just stayed in this lovely apartment. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Vienna! The location is very near Stephanplatz (meaning right in the middle of it all), but it is tucked away on a quiet-ish street which is remarkable considering the location. Our booking was a full apartment with 2.5 bathrooms, two bedrooms plus an extra room with a crib and a small bed for kids. The family room/dining area was spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked and a nice grocery store was on the other side of the square. We even cooked Thanksgiving dinner! (... duck breast and lamb chops, as turkey is difficult to find). The management was very responsive and helpful. We are looking forward to our next stay!

Prime location but lacking in many aspects

The apartment was very central and most attractions were within easy walking distance. The apartment was warm, airy and clean, if rather stark with an uncomfortable sofa and chairs in the living area. However, it was lacking in many aspects, namely: the second (twin) bedroom was very small and only suitable for children and the door did not close because one of the beds was in the way and had to be moved; there was no welcome pack (eg milk, tea, coffee which I expect as a minimum); the oven was dirty; the toaster was disgusting and very small; the smoke alarms in the bedrooms and hallway were missing; the shower door in the twin bedroom did not close properly. The apartment is intended as self-catering accommodation and as such has the basics you would need (only just, in terms of cutlery and utensils). Fortunately, these issues did not spoil our holiday (4 adults) as the apartment's location was absolutely perfect; our stay was not enhanced either. Overall, disappointing apartment in a very beautiful city.

Location was fantastic....walk everywhere from here...opera, albertina, st. Stephens, winter markets. We had to get ubers to events each day and the uber was always there before we got downstairs...very accessible location.
Some restaurants/cafes within couple of minutes walk - variety of styles...we tried them all!
The apartment itself was very clean and had everything we needed. Shower, bath, heated towel racks, washing machines, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, plenty of luggage/clothing storage space, wifi, plenty of seating.

Unusually, it had all the consumabled there - washing powder, shampoo, shower soap, dishwasher tablets, cleaning supplies....no need to buy all those things for our stay.

Expedia booking confirmation lists the address as:
Walfischgasse 9. We took a taxi for 50 euros to get to there.

Apparently, this is NOT the actual address. After several phone calls and speaking to three different people (they are all members of the family that owns the apartment), we were told to go to another address at Opernring 7. It is not too far, but with luggage, we had to take another taxi and wasted almost 2 hours waiting on the street to resolve the situation. The owner told us that they sent an email where the actual address was listed. We did find the email but it was difficult to tell that it was an address just be looking at the email. I DID send three messages to the owners through Expedia with questions about check-in, but received no responses other than a standard \"we can arrange for your car\" message.

The apartment is at a good central location across from Vienna Opera. It is very large. All three bedrooms are really big. But the unit is dated and a little weird. One bedroom has a full en-suite. 2nd bedroom has shower and sink but no toilet (shower didn't drain well). 3rd one has no bathroom at all. This was very inconvenient.

Kitchen is nice - separate and fully-stocked with utensils.

It was very hot and we needed the Air Conditioners to work. They are operated by remote controls. We didn't know this. The lady who met us at the unit did not explain it, so we had to call the owner, who sounded irritated by then and not very pleasant.

This is one of several apartments run by the Duschel's. Ours was in a large apartment just inside the ring and was perfectly designed for our two families to vacation together with two bedrooms on each end of the apartment and two separate showers and bathrooms--though one room with a toilet didnt have a sink. Easy walk to Karlsplatz and Stephensplatz subways and ring tram. VERY nice host.

The location of this apartment was amazing. We were in the middle of everything and yet the apartment was quiet. We were there on vacation so we were a close walk to many of the places we wanted to visit. We did not have kids on this trip, but the apartment would have been a good one for a family as well.

Spectacular Penthouse apartment, best location

Great location. Nicely finished. We loved this place. Our family of 5 really enjoyed this spacious penthouse apartment during our 3 day stay in Vienna. The air conditioning works. The windows open. The elevator works. We ate several dinners on the roof top terrace. The view is spectacular. It overlooks the Opera house and is a 2 block walk to the pedestrian-only streets in the heart of the old town. The apartment is clean, modern and spacious. The 100 Euro cleaning fee took us by surprise, but should just be considered an addition to the price. The clothes washer works. The \"clothes dryer\" is a large folding drying rack for clothes, which worked well. The kitchen was good for cooking. Coffee maker works. Several of pastry shops nearby. The Duschel was very helpful. If I ever return to Vienna, I will stay here, if I can!

This was an ideal location - situated right in the heart of the city centre - and just a 10/15 min walk to most of the attractions (i.e St Stephen's Cathedral and Opera House). The apartment was very comfortable and spacious. Just be aware that there is a fairly steep flight of stairs as you enter the building before you get to the lift; and some glass stairs within the apartment to access the bedrooms. It was okay for us yet could be tricky for those less able to walk especially with luggage. We were charged separately for cleaning so found it disappointing that the oven had very obviously not been cleaned prior to our arrival. It was dirty and still had all crumbs at the bottom. Overall the rest of the apartment was clean. Even though it is situated right in the city centre it is quiet as you are 6 floors up. The Wifi was great and handy. And the hosts were very helpful. They also organised the airport transport which was efficient and professional.

Room with a spectacular view

This apt was part of the reason we had a great stay in Vienna. The apt is right across the street from the operahouse. You have a spectacular view. It is a penthouse apt with lots of room and light. We had a personal check-in that was on time, and very polite and helpful. They also arranged shuttles to and from the airport for us. The beds were large and comfortable. There were 2 bathrooms and lots of sink space. There was a very good sized kitchen that met all our needs and a big table for dining as well as a roof top patio. A washing machine was also in the apt. For our family of 5 it was perfect! They owners communicated all the info in a timely manner and responded kindly to all our requests. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Direct opposite to Vienna State Opera, recommend++

There are 4 of us and we stayed at the duplex overlooking the beautiful Vienna State Opera.
Location: first class location, cannot be better. 100meters away from where the hop-on/hop-off bus departs.
View: breathtaking view of the State opera from big windows.
Condition: very nice condition as pictured, with full kitchen equipment.
Space: the 4 of us felt very comfortable, think it can fit 6 comfortably as well.
Check-in: Mr. Duschel contacted me in advance directly so we got the keys at the door at the pre-agreed time. This is more like an apartment style, not hotel style, but it was exactly what we were looking for.
Overall, highly recommend!

Stunning view of Vienna

Incredible spacious apartment in the heart of Vienna. This cute lamp with multiple tiny little lights gave such a nice vibe at night to the living room, which had giant windows that look over the beautiful streets of Vienna. We're a couple with 18yo & 21yo sons, had plenty of room and we didn't hear our sons talk and goof off all night at all. It had a washer and drying rack with balcony, very useful since we were at the tail end of our 2 1/2 week trip. Too many great things to say about this place. My only complaint is the shower drain in our room didn't work so the water wouldn't drain while showering, so I emailed them about it, and was told they'd look into it, but it was not resolved. I'm sure if I insisted, they would have fixed it, but no biggie to me. I would still stay there if we ever find ourselves in Vienna again!

Fabulous apartment in an great location!

The Duschel family has several apartments in the area around the Vienna Opera House. We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath apartment at 7 Opernring, right across from the opera house. The apartment was spacious, well appointed and very clean. The location was absolutely phenomenal. You can walk to many of the main tourist sites within 10-15 minutes. For destinations that are further away, the Karlsplatz U-bahn station is just down the street. There are grocery stores and lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The kitchen was well stocked and all the furnishings were high quality. We definitely plan to stay in this apartment or one of the others that the Duschel family offers. You won't be disappointed!

VERY CONVENIENT LOCATION

Mr Florian was very quick in responding to all our requests. First in welcoming us on our arrival to the apartment. Second when the DVD player could not display colour, he fixed it fast. Third the dishwasher had a problem, it was also fixed quickly.

I also found out later that the location of the apartment was MOST convenient in accessing to all the places that we want to see, and need to go in order to buy food ingredients for cooking and to restaurants.

Nice apartment near attractions

Very clean and comfortable home away from . In the city center Within few minutes walk to several tourist attractions, food, supermarket, public transport and taxis. Owner Florian is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for families or groups when you need more than 1 room.

Prime location, caring management!

The owner is managing the apartments himself. He cared and it showed.
You can't beat the location: the penthouse overlooked the Opera! However, there was no noise, the apartment is quiet.

Fabulous central location

Spacious self-catering apartment which slept 5 persons comfortably. Fabulous central location just steps away from Kartnerstasse and Grabenstasse major shopping streets, Vienna Opera House and major attractions. The Imperial Crypt, in fact, is just across the street! The Albertina art museum just 100m away! Easy 5min walk to Karlsplatz. Our unit had all the comforts of home: fully-equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, free wifi and three toilets, two showers and one tub!

For our family it was a good location. Two bedrooms with separate bathrooms, kitchen. Florian Dushel met at the time, reacted carefully to our request. Thank you for pleasant stay!

Perfect stay.

We stayed in the Mozart apartment for four nights (two bedrooms, each with 3 twin beds -- two are combined for a large bed in each room). Mr. Duschel arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport, and he was waiting with our keys when we arrived at the apt. He gave us helpful instructions on how things worked, and everything was as promised. The space was lovely, clean, and the apartment is perfectly located (about a block from the Opera, with a view of lovely buildings in the city center from the terrace). Washing machine in kitchen a real plus. Spar luxury grocery 2 blocks away. Lots of little cafes nearby. I recommend highly.

不満だらけです。全くお勧めできません。

事前に鍵の受け渡しの手順を教えて欲しいとお願いしても無理で当日とても困りました。連絡は遅いし、what’s appでのやりとひしか無理です。そして、デポジットが必要となり、決済にアメックスは不可。立地が良いからと対応はとても悪く、最悪でした。室内も電球が切れてたり、オイルヒーターつかなかったり、不満だらけ。
あとは、お鍋が汚いまま収納されていました。不潔です。
Wi-Fiのネットワークがとても弱く、リビング以外での使用不可。
この値段出すなら違うところに宿泊したほうがいい！！！

Un lugar céntrico pero no funciona el Internet, la llegada es muy complicada , llena de instrucciones, el depósito no te lo devuelven de inmediato, y si tienes algún problema nadie te va a ayudar , además que la calefacción no funciona bien
