Bed was broken. Self check in is not at all a good idea for guests traveling internationally. Our flight reached 8am and we got to hotel at 10. We could leave luggage but no one to request a early check in. The hotel had emailed us the code to the room which worked when we got there even though check-in time was 3 PM. We opened a room to find so much trash and stuff left behind by the previous guests. I believe they use the same code for all the guests, which is very unsafe. The place had a small kitchen. It was full of dirty dishes everywhere there is no AC. When we complained, they just gave a fan. Our room was on the second floor and the elevator barely fits two people. We had to do multiple trips to take all the bags upstairs.I would never recommend this place to anyone.

My only positive comment: Good location.
The room had a portable AC (!!) located in the room internal balcony ( facing other apartments windows) We had to sleep with the balcony door open to get some AC. Kind of a Flinstones situation.
We won’t book this place again

Nice place to stay if you get the entrance key cod

This is a good place to stay. Location is great to the center and many landmark and restaurants. Hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. The only problem i had (and major) was nobody sent me the security number to enter the hotel. I made reservation thru Hotels.com. dont know hotels.com should send or the Pension Lumens should send, but somebody ahould have sent me some info when the reservation was confirmed. I only got the confirmation email from Hotels.com (i made reservation the day before). So when i arrived at the entrance, i couldn't get in without this code. Dont know which room is mine, either. I had to call the emergency number with roaming a few times.. then finally made a contact.

Check-in process kinda confusing … luckily the cleaning lady was there to direct. Room was very clean … old and creaky, but clean and safe. Would not rate this a 4-star hotel (maybe a 2). Area was awesome- close to trains.

Issues with dirty beds continue

I wanted to share some feedback from our recent one-night stay at your hotel in Vienna. My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to our stop in the city, but unfortunately, we encountered an issue that impacted our experience.

Upon checking into our room, we noticed that the bed had hairs on it, which left us questioning the cleanliness of the linens. This made it difficult for us to relax and get the good night’s sleep we needed before continuing our journey.

What made this particularly frustrating is that we’d already dealt with a similar issue at a hotel in Budapest earlier on this trip. It’s been disheartening to have these kinds of problems back-to-back, as it has taken away from what was meant to be an enjoyable vacation.

I wanted to bring this to your attention because we expected better from your hotel. We hope you’ll consider addressing this, both for future guests and in making things right for us after this experience.

This is not a hotel but a “Pension”. These are rooms on a floor of a tired appartment/ office building. There is no reception and getting in at first is rather odd. The front door is locked after 6 PM so good luck getting in touch with someone. When I received instructions they were in German and I requested them in English but never received any. Good that when I arrived I had a friend who helped me. The room was clean, quiet and very central. When I selected 4 Star on Expedia I expected something better.

The location was perfect and was quite reasonable. The room was clean with a small refrigerator and there was a small dining area and access to a stove if needed. The only issue we had was getting into our room. It is a self-check hotel so we were given a code to get our room key. We were told to enter the code and a box would open with our key. The problem was that we had to enter the code to get into the door to where the rooms were and there was a lock box on the wall that was NOT the box that would open. There was another box inside where we needed to enter the code a second time to get the key. Just a minor thing but since there was no desk we were on our own to figure it out and luckily someone else came along that called the help number to get the actual directions. Other than that it was wonderful and we would definitely return!

Entry into the property is very difficult, actually it was scary in night. No Uber or cab drivers could arrive in front of the building. We had to drag our suitcases to next street. They sent the code to access the premises very late, so caused us a lot of waste of time from our Salzburg trip.

A nice simple place to stay in Vienna. Perfect for short visits, room booked wasn't available due to damage and was only offered a smaller room or the damaged room with no other compensation. However, staff and room was pleasant and a great location in the city

The Good and the Bad

The Good:
- The location is absolutely perfect. All of the top attractions are within 15-25 minutes walking, depending on how fast you walk. St. Stevens Cathedral is a 4-minute walk, and that's where the best shopping is too.
- The staff is very friendly and helpful.
- The hotel was very clean and well stocked with towels, hand soap, body wash, and shampoo.

The Bad:
- The mattress is thin and rock hard.
- There is a pub one door down, and the thin windows lets in a lot of partying sounds (If you're a heavy sleeper, this probably won't bother you.)
- Everything in the room feels cheep, like you ordered a luxury hotel off of Wish.com. It looks fancy in photos, but the materials of the furniture, doors, lamps, and carpet are cheep. I only point this out because the hotel's website says all of their rooms are \"4-star rooms,\" which is obviously not true once you arrive.

For condition, it is under renovation so that’s the reason for the level there. The staff was great and the location was really good. Quiet neighborhood across from a beautiful church. Not 4 star but good place to stay, accommodating and clean.

A super budget-friendly place to stay in the center of the city, at least it was for me towards the perceived end of the Covid pandemic in June, 2021. A walk from the Wien Mitte station following Google maps directions took me about 12 minutes. The building is old and the hotel occupies a part of a floor, so it feels a little like staying in an apartment. The room was clean and had everything I needed. It overlooked the yard, so it was very quiet - I had no trouble sleeping with windows open. There aren't many extra services, like in bigger hotels, but I did not care for them. The receptionist was very friendly.

Location is very good. Check in was a bit confusing. I knew from Expedia that the reception desk is open intil 7 pm, but the night before got email notifying that reception closed at 2 pm. I was also given instructions on how to self check in. In short, it was confusing and frustrating. The room is ok but no air movement - stuffy. Bathroom tiny, oudated.

Great value for money well located hotel

The hotel is in an amazing location.its literally 5 min walk to the st stephans cathedral and the main shopping district at stephanplatz. Lots of good restaurants and all available budgets nearby. The family at the hotel are very nice people and very accommodating of any requests. I needed a fourth bed in our triple room for one night and they moved us to a 4 bed room for a nominal cost of 25 euros. The place is very accessible and safe . The rooms are big and clean and have everything from good sized beds to cupboards and asmall fridge, safe and tv as well. The air conditioner is a stand-alone unit but does the job decently. I think for seasoned travellers who care about cleanliness, comfort and location as primary requisites in a decent budget holiday this is a perfect match. If you are like us who are tourists and spend only the night at the hotel to sleep and take a shower then this is a great value for money. However if you are looking for a hotel experience and expect plush environment at cheap prices then please stay away cos it will s a mismatch in expectations. I would happily recommend this place to seasoned travellers

The location is the winner. Our room was right next to the check in desk. We had to walk through the breakfast area to get to our room. It was not a real busy area and if we wanted to have breakfast in the hotel it was very convenient. It would have been nice to have a street view. We only had a view of a court yard that was getting some work done to it. You are right in the middle of the section of Vienna with St Stephens and the old palace grounds. Wonderful cafes all around. More sights than you can take in all around you.We would walk down the same street several times and see something new every time. The desk is a couple of floors up and the lift is small. My wife and I travel light but it still couldn't handle the weight of both of us and our bags. And no we aren't that big. We had to go up in two shifts. But at least it had a working lift. Climate change is hitting a lot of Europe. It was around 90 F outside and we were glad that the room had air conditioning. We know from experience that many places don't.. They also offered laundry service. It was expensive but saved us a lot of time to see more of Vienna. Were were about a week into our trip and needed to have a few things cleaned. Over all we had a nice stay there and with the location we didn't spend a lot of time in our room anyway. We did need a mid afternoon break from the heat though.

Convenient location but strange hotel

Hotel is just the 2nd floor of a hotel. So difficult to find out how to get inside and also find the actual hotel floor as poorly lit and you have to know where the light switches are. Facilities aren't anything amazing, location of the hotel is the main plus point. Also if only they had English breakfast tea available.

Ring the hotel bell to get in the door on the street, follow signs to Hotel up on 4th floor. Staff was super friendly, room was large and in the heart of District 1 in Vienna. Breakfast was substantial and delicious.

Good for the price and close to everything

My family and I stayed for two nights. The place was very easy to find. Check in was very easy. We had a two-bedroom one-bath apartment. There was a big living area with sofa. My wife and three kids loved the place. We didn't do much inside the apartment. The hotel is very close to the city center with plenty of shops and restaurants. My kids had no problem walking to all nearby places.
I'd definitely recommend this place and will stay there for our next trip.

Nice small PENSION or B&B for budget travelers

This is just a small B&B with only 8 rooms located on the 2nd floor of a residential / business building, limited amenities.
The rooms are very clean with their own bathroom. Breakfast was included, very good.
Very centrally located near Stadtpark, walking distance to St Stephen's Cathedral and other tourist attractions

The hotel itself is whatever. The staff however was exceptional. Very helpful, pleasant, and very informative. At first I had no idea where the hotel is situated. Its in a building with some kind of offices and who knows what else. It was difficult to find and not very convenient. The plus side to this hotel is its location, staff, and cleanliness, breakfast was delicious and included.

Very very accommodating staff and owner- we arrived before check in and were offered breakfast gratis and permitted to park luggage. My son got stuck outside the hotel (accessible through locked gate at street) without benefit of his key and the owner (roused at 10:45 pm) didn't do more than gently remonstrate him. After checking out we left our bags while we toodled around town before leaving on a night train. Our room had lovely high ceilings and crisp white down duvets and pillows. Super location within comfortable walking distance of museums, Opera House, great shopping and restaurants.

At the heart of Vienna, with calm and elegant neighborhood : Clever choice

This is not an hotel, there is no lobby and A/C, you can't always find anybody at the desk, BUT
1) This is one of the best locations in Vienna, very close to the center (2 minutes walk to Kertner Strasse and U1 Metro) but without noise. The pension entrance is at the Franziskaner Platz with a very nice church and Kleines Cafe (very authentic old cafe). The Gasthaus Pölsch is again a very authentic restaurant with a very friendly atmosphere
2) The hosts are very gentle, especially Dina (who is around most of the time), a very beautiful young girl, always smiling and does her best to help the guests
3) The rooms are not luxurous but you have everything you need and it is very clean

Great location, but this is more of a B&B

Pension Lumes & Co is a pension on the 3rd floor of an apartment building. It's not really a 4-star hotel, and we were rather surprised that it was listed as such in Expedia.

The rooms are spacious, yet somewhat old and need renovation. The bathroom is tiny and can only fit one person at a time. There's only a shower, no bathtub.

Please note that there is no air conditioning in the hotel. We visited mid-summer, so staying in the room was unbearable.

On the plus side, the room is in central Vienna, and you can walk everywhere from its location.

Prima della partenza abbiamo indicato l'ora di arrivo (tra l'altro, in orario pomeridiano di apertura) ma era chiuso con la scritta \"sono fuori, per urgenze contatta questo numero\". El hotel, situado en una Segunda planeta, está a pocos minutos de la Catedral. Habitaciones amplias, cómodas y limpias.
El servicio de recepción no fue muy resolutivo pues nos dijeron que no podían imprimir un documento porque no tenían tinta ( cuando durante el check in la impresora estaba funcionando).

Gewoon goed!

Kamer was ruim 3 bedden aanwezig en het was er schoon.
Airco deed het bij aankomst niet maar werd meteen werk van gemaakt is uiteindelijk toch helemaal goed gekomen. Verblijf was aangenaam en je werd goed geholpen.
Helaas was er geen ontbijt dit ivm corona .
Je bent binnen een paar minuten in het centrum.
