The hotel has a simple and quiet. We were there over the Christmas Holiday which was perfect. Well located and the staff was exceptional. From the greeting and efficiency upon our arrival, to their help throughout and all with a kind smile. We would highly recommend this hotel. Unfortunately we did not get to the spa. Vienna is awesome

Everything was perfect. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were extremely clean and modern. The hotel has a different concept, but very practical. They were always available to help, and most importantly, the air conditioning worked properly — very different from other hotels we stayed at during this trip in Europe. It was truly the best night of sleep we had. The only downside was the room service; there were few options on the menu, and everything we ordered was not tasty, and the soup arrived cold, as if it had just been microwaved. After that, we decided not to order anything else. But overall, it was a great experience.

Highly recommend this spot if you’re planning a trip to Vienna. Getting the breakfast is worth it— and the rooms and spa are amazing for winding down at end of the day. The staff were lovely and the location is really convenient for walking or those planning on using public transportation!

Lifts are a bit querky. To get to the Spa you have to go to the seventh floor then take a lift to the basement! Spa pool also quite small.
On the upside staff and food are great.

Honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed. The staff really made my stay special, especially it being my birthday. The room was gorgeous and clean. One of the best, if not best places we have ever stayed, and we are frequent travellers. Beautiful, modern, luxurious, and exemplary service level. Super king beds for my 6”3 height, very large towels, and breakfast up to 2pm which is delicious. Greeted with champagne, spoken to with respect and general sense of happiness and appreciation. Wonderful experience and walkable to everything with 6 restaurants right behind hotel. Safe anytime of the the night. Thank you Almanac Palais!

Our second visit after a very good stay two years ago. Despite 9/10 positive last time, the hotel has improved.
Service throughout the staff was excellent, attentive and kind.
The location is a short walk to theatres and cathedral with good choice of cafes and restaurants. A short walk through a city centre park (Stadtpark) to transit from the airport, plus the fantastic MAK Gallery just ten minutes walk away.

The restaurant has an excellent menu, and if the weather allows you can dine outside (we have been able to on both September visits.)
I recommend the green omelette!

The spa was more accessible on this visit, and the wonderfully relaxing massage was worth adding .

We would not hesitate to stay here again, Vienna has so much to see.

This property is beautiful and impeccable! The rooms are clean and classic. Staff is amazing from Danny to Melita! Very helpful and friendly staff. I love the welcome tray of fruits and pastries. Love that it’s on the perimeter of Inner Stadt surrounded by delicious restaurants and boutiques. What an amazing retreat!

Overall I was happy with my stay.

It’s a great hotel. Unfortunately our rooms airconditioning took several hours to cool the room down. Also the fridge contained Luke-warm drinks - I like my beer cold! They also have an annoying contact system; if you want something you can only contact reception through WhatsApp and it can take several minutes to get a response. Annoying if they’ve forgotten to provide towels and you’re wet out of the shower!

I would like to commend one of the outstanding staff members at the hotel — Gergerly (sorry if misspelled his name). My luggage was damaged, and the lock was stuck, but he was extremely helpful and patient in assisting me with the issue. His professionalism and kindness truly stood out.

The hotel itself is beautiful and clean, with high-end amenities such as luxurious soap and body lotion.

However, I’d like to share a point of concern regarding breakfast. Upon check-in, one of the staff members informed us that breakfast was included. I was surprised and reconfirmed with her, and she assured me it was. At check-out, we were told otherwise — that breakfast was not included and we needed to pay for it. This caused unnecessary confusion and wasted time. Fortunately, the manager eventually stepped in and confirmed that breakfast should indeed be complimentary.

As of now, I still see a pending breakfast charge authorized on my credit card. It hasn’t posted yet, and I sincerely hope the hotel will honor their word and remove the charge. At a five-star hotel, I believe such miscommunication should be avoided for a smoother and more trustworthy guest experience.

As a regular guest at the Almanac Hotel, I can say with complete confidence that this is a place where excellence isn’t occasional — it’s the everyday standard. From the moment I arrive, I’m welcomed with such warmth and care that it truly feels like a home away from home.

The staff are outstanding, with a special thank you to Amit Pal and his wonderful team at reception, who always go above and beyond to make every arrival feel seamless and personal. Their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail set the tone for the entire stay.

The food is consistently excellent, and the room service is particularly memorable — prompt, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious.

The pool facilities are a quiet luxury, perfectly maintained and ideal for unwinding. And the rooms are simply stunning — stylish, serene, and thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind.

It’s a rare thing to find a hotel that gets everything right, every time — but the Almanac does. A place I always look forward to returning to.

What a fabulous hotel! The location was great, right next to a tram line, a bus line, and a short walk to one of the underground stops. To get to the airport , we just walked about 10 minutes to the S7 train. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The room was very spacious and updated with a very comfortable bed and pillows, plus plenty of storage space. The bathroom was also quite large and had great towels and bathrobes. The pool and spa area, as well as the gym, were very nice. The hotel was about 5-10 minute walk from the historic city center and St. Stephen's Cathedral, which is a must-see in Vienna.

Our stay at Almanac Palais Vienna was underwhelming given the premium pricing. While the room was large, it felt dated and lacked basic amenities like an iron and ironing board. The view was uninspiring,just another building wall.

The lobby is set up in a strange way, making the entrance feel uninviting and disorganized. No one greeted us or offered help with our luggage,we had to walk in and ask for assistance ourselves. Valet parking is available but doesn't come with the level of service you'd expect at this price point.

We extended our stay by an extra night, and only after breakfast were we informed that it was included,clear communication was lacking. The hotel’s best feature is its excellent location, but aside from that, we found it to be overpriced and not a good value for the money.

Our stay at the Almanac Palais was sort of a mixed bag. Plusses: junior suite was spacious, generally very quiet, bed one of the most comfortable we've ever had at a hotel, and rain shower had great pressure.

Minuses: Though very friendly, the service was hit or miss. Housekeeping knocked several times despite \"do not disturb\" light and door hanger. Room cleaning was never the same twice--always a different number of new towels would appear, sometimes the staff would remove and restock coffee and sometimes not, etc.

Front desk: On a Wednesday afternoon we asked them to make a restaurant reservation for Friday night. Checking back Thursday, we found they had forgotten and so asked again. The concierge only tried to make the reservation on Friday at midday, by which point there were no tables available. Not a good look!

Prepaid breakfasts were shockingly subpar, and I wouldn't bother paying again for them. The first two days, we were told breakfast ended at 10:30 (because of a conference, perhaps). The offerings were terrible (mostly self-serve stale bread, only vegan butter, sad fruit salad of crunchy cantaloupe and sour apples). They ran out of food by 9:30 and didn't restock. The last three days of breakfast were better but still very so-so, especially compared to everywhere else we stayed on this trip. Though the servers were very friendly, they were overwhelmed. We stood up to get our own water refills several times, for instance.

Nice place but not sure I'd return.

Beautiful hotel, great location, great service. BUT, the noise isolation between rooms was awful and I was extremely sleep deprived by the end of my stay. The person(s) above walked loudly every night from 10pm on. One night from 1030pm until 200 am the noise from their loud walking was terrible - I called the front desk and the kindly came up to check out the problem but for the time he was there, no noise, as soon as they left it started up again. At check out, make sure you review your bill because a very large charge from the restaurant was accidentally added to my bill that was from a different room. If the hotel would fix the problem with the lack of noise isolation, it would be a perfect hotel.

Very central and convenient hotel. Very posh and high end. However the design and atmosphere did feel a little cold and imposing over luxurious and welcoming. Plus the bathroom toilet is extremely close to the bed and with frosted glass you can hear and see pretty much everything. Not great if you need to do a number two! Also leaving the elevator you have to walk through the breakfast buffet which must be quite weird for the eating guests.

Very luxury and artistic one of the kind hotel which I was very impressed and absolutely loved.
I wish there were more hotel like this.

Staff members are also very nice and having high standards for customer experience.
I will definitely use the hotel again.

One thing I would suggest is to put more room signs where people can see. There was one near the elevator but that’s all. It was like a maze until I find out my room number.

What a wonderful space to spend a few days in. It's beautifully designed, full of interesting art, and very convenient for all the galleries, museums, and restaurants that we wanted to visit.
We loved our extremely comfortable room, the breakfasts, the bar, and the pool and gym. We had a meal in the dining room on Valentine's Day and that was also excellent.
Best thing about the place, however, was its friendly, helpful, very efficient staff. They made a great stay even better.

We had a mostly terrible experience during our stay. At check in we were told our room would be ready in five minutes and that the staff was just double checking it was ready. At that point, I let the staff know that I had a fine dining reservation in an hour, and I asked if that was truly the case because of my time constraint and they assured me it we be five minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, I asked the staff if our room was ready and then they proceeded to tell me the same exact story that it'd be ready in 5 minutes. After an additional 30 minutes, our room was ready. During our waiting time the staff insisted that we let them take the our luggage so they could place it in the room for us so that as soon as it was ready the luggage would be there. When we got to the room our luggage was not there after numerous staff members told me it was already there. We we're already late to dinner and we didn't have our luggage to get ready. Once our luggage arrived we realized there was no iron in the room, which I had to go downstairs to get because at this hotel, they don't answer calls from the suites. I only was able to get room service to pick up once during my stay. I even had to go downstairs to order room service on my last morning. Also, while I was in search of an iron the cleaning crew entered the room unannounced while my girlfriend was getting ready which is totally unacceptable. In addition to many more issues I had with service, the staff does not seem genuine.

What’s not to love about the Almanac? It’s in a perfect location - walkable to shopping, sites, Christmas Markets, restaurants/cafes and public transport. The staff are amazing. If you have any questions about Vienna - see Florian (head concierge) - he goes above and beyond for guests!

The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. You can adjust the lighting, temp, curtains to your liking. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. It was fantastic!

Perfect last night in Vienna

I have stayed in many hotels in my day, and this was one of the greatest experiences Ive ever had. Beautiful room, Alaskan King, lots of pillows, amazing shower and soaking tub.
Old time hotel magic and professionalism with a modern flair. The pool and soa look and feel like you dreamt them up.

Neither a plus nor minus, but an idea of the type of place— When I arrived, there was a photoshoot happening in the lobby.

If and when I am back, I will stay here.

The break fast at this hotel is par excellence! Fabulous choices even for vegetarians. Room was extremely comfortable. And hotel was very quiet and well located.

This hotel on the outside is old but everything on the inside it top notch . Including the illuminated toilet. Wonderful place to stay. Close to the history . Hotelvpeople were great. Got the expedia benefits including an upgraded room. Would we stay again. Yes
