It is was centrally located to the inner Stadt so that was very nice. It was nice and clean. It was just very hot even with the fan. It’s an old building which adds to the charm, however that does have its downside.

Poor experience, don’t stay

Europe was experiencing a heat wave when I was there. The hotel had no air conditioning. The room was over 80 degrees and all they had was 1 fan. My partner has a heart arrhythmia triggered by excessive heat. We could not stay there and checked out a few hours after checking in. The hotel refused to refund any part of our 3 night scheduled stay due to not cancelling within the refundable window.

The staff at reception were not nice. I asked a question about the breakfast time, and they responded very impolitely, saying that I had already asked this question a couple of times. They also gave me the wrong information about the breakfast time, even after realizing that I had an early morning flight.

This is an old property that has been updated in a way that does not respect its older splendor. People at the front desk are great. The breakfast is wonderful, with friendly people taking care of food matters. I feel that the security of the hotel was somewhat lacking, as people could come in through the driveway and just go up the elevator. Also, there were smoking ash trays by the elevator that smokers used -- so the smell from the ash trays and the smokers were unavoidable. The location is just FANTASTIC and makes up for some of the problems. But I think they could do better by fixing these problems..

A nice stay in Vienna

I stayed three nights in Vienna, visiting the opera and a couple of the art galleries. This is a very nice hotel located in the historic centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is a magnificent old hotel with lots of character. The breakfast is very good and coffees are available in the lobby. The parking is about a 7 minute walk away and you cannot stop in front of hotel to unload luggage. It is in the middle of the tourist area so easy to walk to restaurants, shopping and attractions.

I looked a single room super last minute not expecting much. Room was small, but had everything I needed and a chandelier to boot. All the super luxury shopping was super close (1 block to the LV, Chanel, Hermes stores). I haven’t had an actual key in awhile and was scared to lose it. I left it at the front desk and they kept it, so, I didn’t have to worry about it as I traveled around the city. The breakfast included was nice and just what I needed to start my days. Friendly staff.

This is a great old property with creaky floors and small doors. But I loved the experience. The room was clean and airy, the staff is nice and helpful. The location was perfect. Close to the chaos but just far enough from it to be peaceful in our room. I would recommend if you don’t require a new perfectly renovated hotel.

The room did not had Aircondition, when the window was open, it was very noisy from the street. The booking I made through hotels.com and I am a gold member , asked for late check out which was not a problem
For 100 euro which I gave up knowing that it should be a benefit and charged.
The good thing is the great location.great

This hotel is totally run down. Elevator does or work. Hairdryer did not work. Paint is pealing carpets are worn out and greasy. My pillow was lumpy and very old. When I took the cover off, it was covered in gross yellow stains. This is below any sanitary standards. Location is fine. But the hotel is disgrace.

This beautiful hotel makes you feel like a princess. It has the true feel of old Vienna...elegant and comfortable. It is close to everything you want to do... Museums, Spanish Riding School, the Opera, the Philharmonic, and places to eat. It is clean and the staff is very nice. As a retired hospitality industry employee, I am darn picky. I am very impressed and look forward to my next visit to Vienna. We will definitely be staying there again. I have actually sent friends Pertschy Palais Hotel's information! Thank you for a wonderful, yet too short stay.

Superb historical property, ideally situated between the Hofburg and Graben/Stefansdom in the centre of Vienna. Excellent spacious room with a private shared lobby/lounge and library outside the room itself. Unlimited coffee. tea or hot chocolate available at all times in the hotel lobby. Really friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast (English as well as Continental). We will definitely return!!!

The location of the hotel is superb. A block from the Hopsburg Palace, Spanish Riding School, with shopping and dining nearby. The reception area, bathrooms and breakfast were very nice, but our rooms could use a coat of paint and some updating because the chipped paint was the primary feature of the room and surrounding area. The receptionist said it best \"we're a bread and breakfast, not a hotel\" even though that's what the sign says. The amenities are limited. Even so, we were happy with our stay and would return again.

The location was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was pretty decent. Room was a great size but looked very tired. The young lady at the front desk was not attentive at all and really needs to be re trained in customer service. Overall the location trumps all the other short comings.

Great location, easy access to many attractions. No AC at the hotel which made it uncomfortable to sleep. The room and bathroom were clean. A lot of toiletries available in case you forgot something, e.g. toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, shaving kit. Very basic breakfast, mainly eggs served at the neighboring restaurant.

We had a wonderful time - out of season is best, hardly any queues in Vienna's top spots.
Hotel is excellently situated - walking distance of everything you want to see and do. Very easy to find your way around, and easy to walk back to after dark. Very comfortable area to walk around. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great stay in typical European hotel!

It is a very old Hotel with a European flare. Our room was nicely decorated and clean. Bathroom had modern fixtures and good shower. Our room faced the courtyard. To get to breakfast area we went outside on walkway. It is a very cozy area with two dining areas. Breakfast was plentiful with good selection of hot and cold food. Great cappuccino machine free in lobby. Location could not be better!

The property is a historic building, once a palace of a lesser noble, then a military school. The design is similar to many old palaces with a courtyard in the center and rooms around it up to five floors. It is in a great location for walking and the staff is friendly and helpful. The elevator didn't work the day we arrived but fortunately, we were only on floor 3. The elevator was fixed by the end of the day. Breakfasts are a buffet on floor 1. Everything is old fashioned style so if a person wants modern they should stay elsewhere. Wifi worked well and there was a wardrobe, beds and space for chairs and a table, plus a small refrigerator.

The room was always hot, there were 2 fans in it that we ran constantly.Marius at the front desk was wonderful. The other 2 had attitude. Our room was given a minimal cleaning, glasses were not changed. The shower was difficult to use.
The location was great, but I am not sure it was worth the aggravation.

We were disappointed in the dated decor of the lobby and the fact that you had to leave the interior of the building to get the elevator to go to the rooms. The beds were not comfortable, low and poorly dressed. Rooms were small, but clean. Bath rooms were tiny with small shower areas. Breakfasts were good and served in nice dining quarters. Hotel exterior was being painted and were deserved. Lobby needs serious decorating. Not always a welcoming reception from the reception staff. Not sure if they enjoyed their jobs. It was, however, convenient to central Vienna, to shops and events, that goodness. An up-dated version of this hotel would have made our visit to beautiful Vienna, all the difference. Would think twice about returning again.

The hotel is in serious need of renovation and redecorating, as the rooms, beds, etc. Are dated and worn. There is serious work to be done in the lobby/reception and you must walk outside the hotel to access the elevator. Hallways hang off the court yard walls, as if by an afterthought Rooms are hot with no air or air conditioning. Grumpy reception staff add nothing to help the situation. Not a good choice 😖

The hotel is very clean and tidy, albeit that it does need redecorating. All the staff were very courteous and helpful and the location is perfect.

The waiting staff at breakfast were very polite and welcoming. Some of the food wasn't to our taste but that's just personal choice. There was a good selection.

Our room was just too hot and really needed more than a floor flan. Air conditioning would be welcome! Aside from that the room was a good size and the bathroom was quite new and very clean. The bed's were comfortable. Possibly a little more storage space would have been good, there weren't very many drawers and only a few coat hangers in the wardrobe.

I love the character of the hotel and if you can see past the tiredness of the décor it is in a great location and is very clean with good staff so a perfectly decent play to stay. I would stay here again, although maybe an external facing room would have been cooler.

We loved our room, which was spacious, both bathroom and main room, and decorated with old world charm. Comfortable bed, good lighting, comfortable chairs added to our satisfaction with the room. The hotel is a block a way from Stephensplatz and an endless array of shopping, cafes, and restaurants. The breakfast is a wonderful selection of foods that could keep you going through lunch, with helpful staff and a pleasant room to eat it in. We would stay here again if we make a future visit to Vienna.

Nice historical building in an excellent position in the city centre with very helpful Reception staff.. A wide variety of choices for breakfast and the food and service was very good. The free tea, coffee and hot chocolate facility in the lounge was a welcome treat coming in from a cold days exploring. The only thing that doesn't make this an overall excellent hotel was that some of the décor in the rooms and corridors was a little tired and needs sprucing up. However, this could be a bit 'nit picky' and shouldn't put anybody off booking this hotel.
