Disappointing and Mostly Unremarkable Stay
Overall, my stay at this hotel ranged from poor to mediocre. The biggest letdown was the breakfast, which had a very limited and repetitive selection. The quality was below expectations, and there was little variety, making it one of the weakest aspects of the stay.
Cleanliness was acceptable, nothing particularly bad but nothing impressive either. The room was serviced adequately, though it lacked attention to detail and consistency.
The front desk experience was inconsistent and, at times, outright rude. Some interactions felt dismissive and unprofessional, which negatively impacted the overall impression of the hotel and made simple requests feel like an inconvenience.
The only truly remarkable and positive highlight was Lisbet, a Cuban lady who stood out for her kindness, professionalism, and genuine willingness to help. She was always approachable, attentive, and made a noticeable difference in an otherwise underwhelming experience. Her attitude and service deserve special recognition.
In summary, this hotel has significant room for improvement, particularly in customer service and food quality. Without staff members like Lisbet, the experience would have been far more disappointing.

Having normal expectations of a hotel, you’re made to feel like a massive inconvenience. Checked in and was given a room with 2 large windows that were fully open. Fine, but hen we realised the heating was broken, and the blind on one of the windows was broken (stuck open), so room was freezing (also smelt of pee in bathroom). Staff, after some under their breath moaning, moved us to a new room.
After first night, had no sleep as there was only 1 pillow per person in the room (you’d expect some spare in a wardrobe). When I asked for extra pillows the next night, the staff made out like it was a massive deal and basically complained about having to fetch them.

Basically, the location of the hotel is perfect, but the staff or management aren’t really to thank for that. They’re responsible for ensuring you have a good stay, and they completely lacked any decent hotel management qualities in that respect.

The reception staff were very friendly. Location amazing - so close to the centre - we couldnt believe how close we were. Everywhere was clean (& warm) which was perfect. The only negative we had was the lack of choice at breakfast and the service from the waitress, she spent the whole time on her phone with her earplugs in her ears - never known anything like it. Fair to say we didnt fill her tip jar. We even had to go in to the kitchen to ask for a coffee - at which time we were interupting her facetime! Aside from that, the hotel was brilliant and we would stay here again, we would just go out for breakfast.

This hotel was perfect for visiting Vienna, right in the middle of the city centre. I had a single room and my room was lovely. The hotel was very accessible when it comes to public transportation. I was a solo female traveller in Vienna and I always felt safe at this hotel. I travelled by train and metro to the hotel from the airport when I arrived in the city last week without any problem. Via Uber it took about 25 minutes to get back to the airport for my return flight home. The hotel was a literal 5 minute walk from places like St Stephen’s Cathedral and the major shopping street in the city - Karntner Strasse. All the main points of interest in the heart of the city are walkable from this hotel. I would definitely recommend this location to base yourself from when travelling to Vienna.

The hotel is in an excellent location downtown, just a few steps from
St. Stephens Cathedral and other main attractions. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My room with a single bed was the smallest hotel room I ever stayed in. It was clean and quiet though. I did not have breakfast in the hotel and cannot comment on that.

Great location. Friendly staff and clean facilities. We did not have the breakfast option. Our room didn’t have an iron or a kettle and they were provided when asked.

The room decor is interesting & nice. The transit station to go Schönbrunn Palace is 10 min walk; lots of attractions, restaurant, pharmacy, shopping and coffee shops are just minutes walk away. The room and the bed itself were comfortable. Also close to the late night vending machines b/c everything closes by 10pm.

Our negative is the bedding is very minimal which is something we are not used to (1 flatish pillow each and no blanket/covers). Not sure if this is usual for Vienna, but we did not ask for more and adjusted for the week we were there.

The front desk staff Julia and Messadi were super friendly and spent time speaking with me and helping me improve on my one week Duolingo German! They were super welcoming towards my daughter and me - however I never received that complimentary drink that Expedia told me I would have.

Cleaning staff would come in to clean, but the first time, one left the bag they cleaned full of trash, on the dresser chair and the second time in the week, toppled my premium skincare bottles with the product flowing down the side of the sink. Body soap, toilet paper and facial tissues were not refilled even though they cleaned my room unless I told front desk what I required. There was no available - do not disturb sign for me to reject or be notified of cleaning.

Pillows were flat and lumpy and yellow on the inside. I had to request for two extra pillows from Julia and the blankets did not sit well inside the duvet cover. When I sat down on the bed it made a squeak like an air mattress.

I’m a deep sleeper, but I would be woken up by drunk people in the middle of the night shouting at the top of their lungs and the clacking of their heels. Two nights in a row. It’s no wonder the front door is locked with a code after midnight.

Breakfast had a variety of cereal, rolls, eggs, sausages, bacon, fruit and cold cuts. The coffee had to be ordered by the breakfast staff.

All in all - the front desk is a lifesaver for this hotel and the location that it is truly 5 mins to the Stephanplatz ubahn

The hotel was very conveniently located near enough to the tourist attractions to be easy to walk to (close to Stephan's cathedral and the subway there), but far enough away to be quiet and away from the buzz. However, the hotel had a weird smell in the lobby area, which didn't translate to the rooms. We didn't eat the breakfast.
The staff was very helpful and arranged our transfer to the airport.

Europe is known for its firm mattresses and ours was far from it. Recommend new mattresses, woke with back muscle soreness attributed to sleeping on their mattress 3 days in a row. Breakfast was $20 per person and was decent. Would not stay here again unless they replaced their mattresses. Request a street view, inside view lacked appeal.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Elaya in Vienna city center. Waking up and walking right around the corner to St. Stephen's cathedral was a prime location. The price was competitive and fair. Very modern and beautiful accommodation. We were concerned before our stay with some of the reviews commenting on the AC not being reliable or working, when we got to our room it did seem stuffy but the front desk staff came up right away to make sure it was functioning correctly, cleaned the filter, and gave us a fan (which we never ended up needing). So we were very comfortable during our stay. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone going to Vienna!

The location was the single best part of the hotel, it was very walkable and central to all of the Vienna main sites/square. However, the cleanliness and general upkeep of the hotel needs serious improvement. Our room had noticeable dust bunnies on the floor around the bed/side tables, there were weird stains in the bathroom on the sink and vanity, just general the trim was dusty around the room and ceiling in the bathroom had a noticeable crack/hole that needed repatched and painted. The general hotel needs a bit of a face lift in terms of maintenance. Also another big issue was the AC, it wouldn’t go past 21 degrees Celsius and it kept adjusting back to 25 degrees like the front desk/hotel had some kind of automatic override. They insisted they didn’t but the AC was problematic/poor the whole visit.

The air worked on EVERY floor but 9th. We did receive notification about an hour before check in that the air was out. They offered us \"a personal airconditioner\" and also gave us free breakfast. The \"personal air conditioner\" was a FAN. A FAN that hardly blew any air. When we asked to be moved elsewhere, we were told as soon as someone checked out we would be moved. Well, we saw multiple people checkout buuut each time they told us, the air will be back on soon or you have a king size bed and these are queen, soo no moving rooms. No ice machine so you have to requesr it. It was available on the 1st and 2nd day after that none was available. The showers leaked all over the bath room floor and it was dirty with mold. There was only 1 pillow per person, and it left MUCH to be desired. The linens were subpar, very scratchy and thin. Overall, the hotel was in a good location but the equated to VERY EXPENSIVE camping and not worth the money spent here. I expected much better out of a top Vienna location.

Charming Boutique Hotel in an Ideal Location
Great hotel just a few steps from Stephansplatz — the location was absolutely perfect! It’s a small boutique hotel, which I really liked for its cozy and intimate feel.
The only minor issue I experienced was when I ordered a ride to the airport through the hotel in the morning — unfortunately, the driver didn’t show up. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault, and I was able to quickly book a ride through Bolt instead, which worked out well (and was actually cheaper — about $30 vs. $60).
Overall, a wonderful stay and I would definitely return!

Such lovely and friendly staff. I felt like it was my home away from home. They greeted me each time I walked in and out and asked me about my day. Their complimentary tea and coffee service all day was just the thing I needed to warm up from being out in the cold all day. The room was clean, eco-friendly and had all the conveniences I needed. I would stay here over and over again. It also is in a great central location minutes walk away from St. Stephen's church and the rest of Vienna's attractions.

The staff were very accommodating to the situation I had with my room and they were very helpful and accommodating my extra guest, even though the hotel at capacity. I don’t think I’ve had a better experience at a hotel with hotel staff. I had a situation with the person who was staying in my room and the hotel was very understanding and helped me mitigate through it. I appreciated that very much and respect the care they had for their other hotel goers. The food was terrific.

The property is really in the middle of everything so everything were a short distance walk. We took an uber on some of the distance places but attraction places like saint peter church where they performed a musical quarter is literally a rock throw away as well as saint stephen church which is in the heart of the shopping strips.
I finally had the courage to take a train to Budapest amd it was a blast. Get the first class express option for 4 more euro and its well worth it.
The only hitch was our in our arrival when the pickup driver told us that we had 1 too many luggage for the vehicle that it was arranged for..and he started bad mouthing Orbitz for lack of communication but i said thats not the case coz i have save the email communication but he ultimately arranged another ride which was a taxi that accommodated us instead of the limo company for which we originally agreed upon. Upon arriving to the hotel I brought up the issue and the person and the name of the person to whom i was in communication with but he claimed no such person worked there even though it said it's coming from their front desk. It seems that only parts of the communication were recieved like I asked for 2 separate bedroom with one extra bed in one of them and that didn't happen. It seems that 3 beds for 3 people is incomprehensible..but overall everything went great and special kudos to the hotel staffs. Great work guys.

The staff at this hotel took a great experience to the next level. The rooms were wonderful - clean, safe, and spacious with wonderful decorative accents that added to the joy. I felt so cared for here, especially by Messadi at the front desk. He gave us suggestions and was incredibly hospitable each time we were through the lobby.

Had a great 3 night stay; room was nice, spacious & cleaned daily. Bed was a bit hard for my liking, and I wouldn't have minded too much had the pillows been good. Pillows were useless, as if we had slept with none. That was my only issue along with needed more tv channels in English. Location is great, and front desk Sara was amazing. The other gentlemen in the evening wasn't so inviting, lacks friendliness. He should learn from Sara. Overall I will stay here again.
