This was an amazing little place located in the heart of Vienna. It is walkable to all the main attractions and is in a very safe neighborhood for solo female travelers. It is very close to all different modes of transportation so it is easy to get around if you prefer transit. Took transit to see one of the palaces that’s out of the way and was so easy to navigate. Staff was great and I really enjoyed my stay there.

Overall I enjoyed my stay here. It’s near the City Center and most attractions in the city are less than 30 minutes of travel (walk or train) away. Location was great. Rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable, check-in was easy. My one problem was the SHOWER. It looses a star for this. The shower had two temperatures - freezing cold and scalding hot. Nothing in between. And the worst part is that it would instantly switch between these temperatures with zero notice, leading to some very unpleasant experiences in the shower. If this was fixed it would be a 5 star for me.

Don't stay on the street side - too noisy!
Check in was easy, but know this is not a full service hotel as there is only someone at the desk in the morning. The hotel and room were very clean, and the continental breakfast was adequate. Our problem with the room was that the curtains in room 4 did not cover the large streetside window, so we were constantly having to cover one end of the window and not the other. Getting dressed was challenging and sometimes I just had to hope no one was looking over. The other problem was that the street was very noisy late at night, people sounding like party revelers who had been drinking and stood out in the street making noise.

The room that was shown on Expedia and the one that i paid 100£ for was not the one provided. I checked and realised that a single room was given to us and the one shown in the photos was other bigger room. The room was dirty, tiny, with the bathroom door that did not shut. A black out wall/window that did not close, smelly, small bed with 2 tiny cushions for pillow, no bedside lamp but some weird portable light, only one outlet to charge stuffs, no amenities whatsoever.
The ratings shown on Expedia are false.
The staff was unhelpful. Best part they were asking for 25£ even if you check out half hour late which when they confirmed few days ago they forgot to mention.
I would strongly advice you against booking a room here as the money paid does not justify the room or amenities provided.

The place was noisy all the time, unusually so. For the talk of having quiet hours, it was louder at night, and I am not talking about what was going on outside. Also the fact that they needed to be reminded to put soap in the bathroom. But most damning was check-in. Your key card is just left out there for anyone to take, thus someone else could make themselves at home in your room.

Dan In'n Out was the perfect home base for our week in Vienna! It's near public transportation, around a 5-10 minute walk from buses, trams, and an underground station. The historic center of the city is walkable as well, if that's your preference. It's easy to find, although not on a main thoroughfare. There are a variety of restaurants and food carts nearby, and two grocery stores within a couple of blocks.
The hotel itself is tidy and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Each room may be different, but we liked that we had a sofa and a small table and chairs in our spacious room. Large windows overlooked the street below but it was quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was bright and the water pressure was excellent. We did not eat breakfast at the inn, but there was a nice spread each morning, including meats, cheeses, pates, breads, yogurts, granola, tomatoes, etc. Coffee and tea were available to all guests, whether joining breakfast or not.
We would absolutely stay here again!

Location was central which was amazing. We asked for a double bed and we received twin beds, that were put together but were sliding apart easily.
The blankets were short, even for the height of 175cm and shower was adequate. Our room was located close to the dining area so in the morning we could hear everything that was happening there. Staff, however, were helpful whenever we needed any assistance.

Excellent Basic Hotel
This is a very good, basic hotel: spotlessly clean (the room was cleaned daily), quiet, a bigger room and bathroom than expected, adequate breakfast, very good brewed coffee, in a very good, safe, quiet location close to the VAL terminus, Ubahn, tram lines, and walking distance to St Stephen's and other sites. The staff is helpful if you need anything and polite. There are 3 grocery stores less than 5 minutes away which was very convenient (though no refrigerator in the room). I highly recommend Dan's and will stay there during my next trip to Vienna.

Decent hotel stay; the property was far enough away from the main old town area that it was quiet but close enough to easily walk or get there by public transport. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful and breakfast offerings were fine. The only thing I didn’t like was how thin the walls were; I could easily hear my neighbors talking, playing music, etc. The hotel does request quiet hours from 10pm-8am but there’s not staff there to enforce it. I also didn’t really like the check-in; since there’s no staff in the afternoon, they leave the key cards with your name and room number on the desk. This seems unsafe in that anyone can look and see who’s staying in which room. I feel like it would be better if they put the room number and key card in envelopes or something so there was more privacy.

The only thing I liked is location, everything else is terrible. No central AC and portable AC unit fan did not do much at such hot weather. No fridge, only small freezer at common area. I do not understand logic behind having freezer versus fridge. Housekeeping did not do a good job. Bath towels rough as sand paper. Elevator can hold only 1 person 1 luggage at time. Reception until noon time.

Excellent location and a tea/coffee facilities are nice, staffs were good & friendly however I wasn’t need to contact with them or anything, only thing was on arrival it wasn’t the room I’ve been booked and I had to change it for a better one but it was a bit noisy of course and has no curtain but overall I had a pleasant stay have no complaint, thanks for asking!

On arrival I could not get in to hotel because reception closes at 2pm. They send a door code by email which was not working. Spent 40 outside doors until I sorted with new code. Management behind emails could not even apologise for this misunderstanding.

From 7am hotel starts preparing breakfast and I could not avoided hearing kitchen sounds. My door was right outside the breakfast area. Bed was comfortable, shower was nice, liked the towels. And receptionists were nice.

1st Hotel in the world with zero staff. Staffs are from 7am to 3-4pm. I reached at property but 7.30pm, no one was there to open the door, no one was picking call. I could communicate with hotel person after 45 minutes, and she told the code to open the gate. It was freezing temperature outside

Not what I expected ! This is a no decor, basic place, which I did not feel was explained on the profile beforehand. I tried to check in at 2.15 pm in the Sunday afternoon, and there was no desk clerk at that time--they shutdown at 2. Until the following morning---that was not foretold. . I finally phoned and was given a code to enter. The hotel.is clean and decent, but sterile. Good location. But the room price is much too high for what is basically a private dorm room.

Overall it was good. Good location. The only thing that was a little confusing is their email for check in. They should instruct guests to come up the stairs to the 2nd floor where the reception desk is where they leave the key card. I dont know why they call their 2nd floor, 1st floor. Before coming to the hotel we called the 24/7 number to inform them that we will be very late as we had to drop by a friends apartment in town. They lady who answered us was very grumpy and asked me why I called in the middle of the night and that it was past bedtime already and that the “email clearly stated we could check in anytime”.
