We like this property in generally, almost everything is what we expected: clean, close to metro, grocery nearby, safe and quiet. The only thing we are surprised is there are almost none restaurants and bars in the neighborhood: very different from the apartments of all other European cities we have stayed,

Lovely apartment with everything you needed. Beds were comfy. Only complaint was we couldn’t make the AC come on. Vienna is a lovely, safe and awesome historic location! We did have a bit of a hiccup with access codes, but got it worked out.

Honestly this was not for us. I should say it was extremely hot in Vienna when we arrived. The unit was 30 deg C inside. We enquired about renting an AC unit. Let me save you some money… it was incredibly loud and only lowered the temperature to 27 by the morning. The bathroom is strange, with the shower in one room and toilet in a separate, tiny, poorly ventilated closet. Also, the wifi is unusable. Given all these issues, we checked out early, and to my knowledge did not receive even a partial refund.
I think if you are visiting in cooler weather, don’t need wifi, and don’t mind no ventilation in the toilet, this is in a good quiet spot with good proximity to the underground train station Schottenring.
But if you’re a family of 2 adults and 2 young adults, find something else.

Great apartment in good location

Apartment is in a quite area of Vienna yet very close to the centre. Metro station is a minutes walk away providing easy access to all parts.
Restaurants and supermarkets are close by.
Accommodation was perfect for a few days exploring the city. Easy to find and access with door codes makes entry simple.
The owners also provide lockers for left luggage which was greatly appreciated.
Overall a very clean, tidy and comfortable stay with all things needed available.

This property provides you everything but not convenient. My wife has to use the hairdryer outside the toilet because the power plug is too high for her. No towels hanger in the bathroom so we have to use the cloth rack outside. Towels has some dark spots. We understand they have been washed but it really bring us some bad imagination. Property is so close to metro but you may have trouble finding the exit the first time.

The apartment was very bare, which we didn’t mind so much as we were barely there but the wifi was pretty low quality and there was absolutely no air conditioning, nor did the windows opening provide any air flow, which during a heat wave made it hard to sleep.

We arrived for a 7 night stay, overall we were quite satisfied with the apartment.
We were on the first floor of three, so didn't need to use the lift.
Room was quite spacious, small area for dining and separate small bathroom and separate toilet.
15- 20mins walk to the main city area and u bank station 2;mins walk.
We were woken up on two mornings just after 8.00 am! Not by outdoor workers! But building work in the next apartment !!! Which was not acceptable, I sent the owners an email to complain about this, unfortunately I'm still waiting for the explanation!!!
Probably won't be staying again.

These apartments are cozy, clean, and close to the metro. The owners are very nice, and their directions for checking in are so easy! I loved stayed there! My only issue was bring awoken at 7:30 in the morning by the cleaner trying to unlock my door without so much as a knock. Although it was my checkout day, it was not appreciated, especially since I incidated on the form my checkout time wouldn't be until 10.

It's an excellent option for the solo traveler visiting Vienna on a budget. Everything was there and everything worked. Very functional kitchenette and bathroom. Close to a multiple line metro. Quiet street and building. Comfy upgraded matress. Good iron. I stayed 2 weeks, would definitely return.

Well worth staying here if you're visiting Vienna

Accommodation was for a family of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers) for 3 nights. The location was excellent and very central and near the U-bahn which was great for travelling around. Frau Ottisch was very helpful with a few small queries we had and she also allowed us check out a little late to accommodate our flight. Would strongly recommend.

A very pleasant three nights stay, nice room, relaxed and quiet accommodation. Location 80 meters from Ubahn U1 Schottenring, 3 minutes to Karmelitermarkt - restaurants and Saturday morning farmers market, 10 minutes to the Vienna old town and Stephansdom.

Great apartment in a great location !

Great apartment in a great location ! Took airport bus to Morzinplatz and then 10-15 minute walk to the apartment. All directions & instructions for the apartment very easy to follow. Apartment is 2-3 min walk from Schottenring underground station (line U2); SPAR supermarket, Saturday market, eateries are 5-10 min walk. Nice neighbourhood and apartment gives lots of space for family. Walk along the river - nice restaurants and bars. Walk to centre / main attractions is very straightforward across the river. Recommend food at Restaurant Bahur Tov (Taborstrasse 19) and concert Classic Ensemble Vienna (Peterkirche, Petersplatz 1). Delightful stay ! Our thanks to the Ottitsch Family

Old Vienna apartments are situated in a charming old Viennese building and having the opportunity to live for a couple of days like a local was quite a delightful experience. The apartments are in a very convenient position, one can walk to most places and there is a metro station at the end of the street. Check-in and check-out were problemless. We had an early arrival and the owners kindly arranged for us an early check-in. We were also offered the possibility to store our luggage in a luggage room on the last day before departure.

Great stay at Old Vienna Appartments!

Very clean, comfortable, and excellent service from our host. Our room was bright, large and had lots of places to store items. In a quiet area but very close to an underground passage leading to Shottenring station on the other side of the canal. The location made it very easy to get around the city. Also a grocery store close by (Billa). Great wifi and very convenient being able to do our own laundry. We would definitely recommend Old Vienna Apartments!

Excellent location for a 5 day stay in Vienna. Only a couple of minutes walk from the underground and trams. Short walk into the city centre for all the attractions. Check-in was seamless despite there being no reception desk. Very quiet at night for a good sleep. Room was comfortable, well equipped and clean. Would thoroughly recommend. Very easy to get to from Vienna airport - 45 minutes door to door via S7 Schnellbahn into Wien Mitte and then U4 underground.

I had a pleasant stay in February. I booked a single room but was given an upgrade upon arrival. I found my room to be spacious and clean and the local chocolate on the bed a nice touch. The kitchenette had the basics and there were several markets nearby. The UBahn was at the end of the street but the Old Town was only a 15 minute walk so I used my feet. The neighborhood is quiet, the wifi fast and the room clean. The 10:00 AM checkout is a little early, but worked with my travel plans.

Excellent location, about 15-20min walk into Central Vienna. Availability of nearby shops and supermarkets (Spar about 10mins away). Very warm and comfortable (in December) and a great base for exploring the delights of Vienna. Room had double and single (for 3 people) and proved to be excellent value for money.

If you are looking for a clean , reasonably priced apartment , this is the place to be. It's about a block away from the train station, and a 10 minute walk to stephensplatz. The owners are also very responsive to calls and were very helpful. The rooms are not air conditioned but you can request a portable AC unit for extra 10 euros a day.

This was a good stay for 4 adults, we got a standard apt with kitchen. The bedroom(double bed) & living room(with 2 single beds) was a great size. It came with a dining table & a well-equipped kitchen. Checkin was easy- the office apt is on a different floor in the building and the attending lady was helpful. Their common washer/dryer for an additional amount was another convenient feature. No room service was done for the 3 nights we stayed there, that didn't bother us much but would have liked a change of towels & general cleaning. Wifi was flaky. Location is a 2 min walk to one of the metro lines. There are not many restaurants/shops very close to the apt though, you will need to walk a bit or use transportation.

We loved the apartment, had its own little patio outside with a table and 2 chairs, perfect for a glass of wine and some meat and cheese platter. The fridge and kitchen were great to store and have a meal at home. The bathroom was small (but they all are in Europe) but nice and they provided shampoo and soap which was great! The owners were very accommodating and let us store our luggage since we came in early! The only complaint was that there was no air conditioning, the fan they had in the room did not work (we could have asked them to replace it but it was not too hot out when we stayed). I would highly recommend staying here in the future!!!!

Great City Hub in Vienna

Friendly host who even waited for us till 10.30 pm due to travel delays. Apartment is spacious and has all comforts for a family of 4 (2 teenage boys). Close to traffic hub allowed us to travel quickly into town but also enjoy the quite city suburb. Host gave us excellent advise and allowed us for a reasonable fee to host our 2 cousins from Graz. I absolutely would recommend this apartment.

If I ever return to Vienna I will book here again. The apartment is very well maintained and is spotlessly clean. There is lots of information available for guests by the owners which I found really helpful as it was my first time in Vienna. Very close to the Metro so there will be no issues getting around the city. The neighbourhood was very quiet and clean, shops were only a few minutes walk. The Fusball table was an added and unexpected bonus!

We were delighted with our visit at this apartment. The check in was very easy. The apartment was large and comfortable, with lovely tall ceilings. The location was excellent, within easy walking distance to museums and downtown areas, but in a quiet and pretty neighborhood. I traveled with my husband and two older teenagers, and it was a perfect place to stay. We all loved it!

I was in Vienna for a conference at the Austria Center Vienna. The Old Vienna Apartments were very convenient, usually it took about 15 minutes to get to the conference in the mornings. The apartment was very clean and comfortable with everything I needed for making breakfast or a light dinner. Space in the kitchen was limited but this was expected. Wifi worked very well. The neighborhood was very quiet and seemed safe. You are not far from the center of the city with all of the amazing sites. The price was great too!

This is a very modern one room apartment. It was a real bargain and the owner sent a great email giving full directions on getting here from airport and how to get keys. It has a metro stop at bottom of street and is therefor just a few stop from major attractions. Would definitely book here again.

Great stay at the Old Vienna Apartments. Close to the centre and very accessible via public transport (very close to an underground station), so an excellent base for exploring and sightseeing! Check in and out were problem free and there weren't any issues throughout the duration of our stay. Very good value. Comfortable, warm apartmemt with WiFi and a great shower. Everything provided, including lots of local information on everything in a folder and access to drinking water. There was a little bit of street noise on the very quiet street one of the nights we stayed, but I slept through it (and only heard about it from my sister!) I would imagine this is not at all usual in the quiet neighbourhood. I would certainly recommend and return. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Vienna and our stay at the Old Vienna Apartments.

A birthday treat to visit the Christmas Markets. Apartments a short walk to underground station in quiet location. Our 1 bed apartment was in effect a large en-suite bedroom with a table and 2 chairs and small kitchenette area. Ideal for our visit, but not great if intending to be totally self catered. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in apart from our own and the underfloor heating was terrific.

4 nights in November 2015. Very good location, two minutes walk from an underground stop serving lines U2 and U4, but still quiet and peaceful. Room was very comfortable, warm and spacious, plenty of storage room for clothes. Kitchenette had kettle, microwave, electronic hob and sink. Also had a TV (only English language channel was Sky News but certainly didn't bother us!!), iron and ironing board and even a filter coffee machine - with coffee! Bathroom was warm and clean, shower was excellent except that the shower door didn't stop the bathroom from flooding. We met the owner and her lovely dog the morning after we arrived, she was very friendly and lives within the apartment building so able to be contacted if needed. We didn't need anything from her but would have felt comfortable knocking on her door if we did. All in all a very good stay at a very good price, would definitely stay here again if visiting Vienna in the future!

We had a 4 night stay at the old vienna apartments. Keep in mind that it is an apartment and not a hotel. The auto check in was made easy with great directions sent to my email. The apartment has a kitchenette, witch was a huge benifit. There is also a €10 laundry option. This gives you access to the machines as often as you want during your stay. Well worth it if you are backpacking or there long ebough to get in a couple loads. The funiture is modern and cozy. The subway is only one minute from the building. The only downside was that the neighbourhood is a little bit sketchy. The price is great, would stay again, and recommend to travellers on a budget.

old vienna apartments

Old vienna apartments is not a hotel. We had a room,which was comfortable. The bathroom was lovely, but the kitchenette which is a corner of the room just inside the door, is totally inadequate. There was 1 pot,2 cups, a hot plate that had to be plugged in. You had to wash cups etc in the bathroom sink. This is not an apartment, it is a room. The bed was comfortable and clean.The communication from the oweners, on transport links etc was excellent.

We were in an apartment for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) and the rooms were clean and comfortable for all of us. There was a kitchen with all you need and two bathrooms. The metro station was near the hotel, about 2 minutes walking and in few minutes we were near the City center. Also a parking is available near the metro station (not so cheap!).
We may suggest it, especially for families.

Clean, Comfortable stay

Old Vienna Apartments is located in a quiet, residential neighbourhood, between Schottenring & Taborstraße U-bahn stations. Stephanplatz is about a 20 min walk. Not many restaurants/cafes/bars in the immediate vicinity but more options near Taborstraße or by the Danube Canal just a short walk away.
The apartment we stayed at (Apartment 12) was actually just a room with an ensuite bath and a small kitchenette area. I expected it to be a little larger but it was alright as we were out most of the day. The kitchenette is not conveniet for making anything more than coffee/tea and heating up food in a microwave. The bath was very clean and had everything we needed including toiletries.
The apartment owners live on the top floor of the building and were super responsive to any requests. They came down and fixed the TV which was acting up and also, very kindly printed tickets for our onward journey. WiFi was good. The matteress and linen very good.
All in all, a good comfortable stay!

Family vacation

The apartment (# 15) was clean and well equipped with everything you need (kitchen utensils, washing machine, television and so on). It is located in a very quiet, residential area just outside the center of town.
It was easy to check in and out and we were able to leave our suitcases in the basement while touring the city the last day. There are a couple of supermarkets nearby and several restaurants (we ate at Tewa and pizzeria Mari' both excellent). We highly recommend this place.

Convenient location especially by bicycle.

The area is near good eating places and is serviced by the free bicycle service. During our stay we cycled almost everywhere. It was still cool in mid June and the apartment was not hot. We did not see any air-con unit. There was no washing machine in the apartment but it was available at 10 Euros per wash at the second level.

Clean and comfortable

My wife and I stayed here for a week and really enjoyed the apartment. Subway is just a two minute walk and there are some very nice cafes and restaurants in the local area, supermarket is about a 7 minute walk. If you enjoy walking the town centre is just a 20 minute walk. Cafe Theo just across the canal has excellent food at good prices. It was also nice that there were laundry facilities available, cost was 10 euro. Would stay there again the next time we are back in Vienna

Great Vienna Apartment.

This apartment worked out beautifully. The metro was at the end of the street. You could also walk easily into the old town. Great restaurants, stores and a market very near by. The owners were very helpful (she walked us in the direction of a superb restaurant.) The apt. was clean and as advertised. Would definitely recommend it.

Great location and owners

I enjoyed my stay at the Old Vienna Apartments very much. The apartment was located in a nice neighborhood about a 2-minute walk from the nearest subway station with easy access to nearby stores and restaurants. The price was affordable, my room was clean and tidy upon my arrival, and the hosts were very prompt in answering my questions/concerns throughout my stay. I would certainly recommended the Old Vienna Apartments to others traveling to Vienna.

Great aparthotel in a superb location

Great value (though beware of the 30EUR 'cleaning' charge when comparing prices with other hotels). Superb location just on the other side of the centre of Vienna. 2 minutes from the nearest U-bahn and 10 minutes from nearest airport bus stop. Quiet neighbourhood with some nice restaurants. Room small, but perfectly functional and key system works well. Highly recommended.
