I stayed for a week and the temperature inside was uncomfortably hot the entire stay. I had the windows open the whole time with a fan running, but the temperature inside was always much warmer than outside, even at night.

I was supposed to receive a code by email for check in, but did not receive code. I had to call a number to get my code. The information card in the room indicated that no internet code was necessary, yet it was password protected so I had to call again to get the code.

On my last night, the power went out in my room. I called to report it and the power was restored in about an hour. Sometime after midnight someone was ringing the buzzer to my room.

Finally, I read the detailed instructions about the hotel before arriving. I noticed that it said that some upper rooms require going up stairs. I wrote a message to the hotel through Expedia asking for a lower unit. I nevwr received a reply from the hotel. Sure enough, I was in a room that required carrying my luggage up the maximum number of stairs possible.

Check in was confusing with more than one lock box. We arrived at 240pm but had to wait for the key dispenser to activate by 3pm ( room ready guest waiting - unremarkable)
Television had some increadibly irritating narrator always on “volume 12” , xyz show - cant touch rhe control withoutbthe tv talking

All good but clarify check-in details

Everything fine except check-in instructions should note the keybox is up the three smallxflights of stairs, as there are three keyboard; one outside, one, inside, and the correct one, several flights up. Friendly cleaning staff, TV good for media, and coffee maker appreciated!

We never received a email with our check-in code and had to call support. It took calling 4 times before we got through to someone.

The property was also extremely hot with not air conditioning. I would not stay here during the summer. I also want to mention that the luggage storage was accessible by all guests and I would be hesitant to leave any valuables there.

No wifi, and no service

Zero wifi for must of my stay which was extremely irritating for someone travelling from overseas who doesn’t want to accumulate serious roaming charges! Since it is self check-in there’s nobody to complain to. It’s super easy to lock yourself out of your room by accident (door locks automatically) and difficult to contact somebody to come let you back in. This whole self-service idea is really absurd.

Great Location near metro etc. has shared kitchen..free self service laundry. Not luxurious BUT cant neat value for price. Clean _ Great housekeeper.

Tricky location of checkin box.actually on 2nd level..you will get it.

Also Do NOT eat at that Nasty overpriced recommended Pizza place - plenty of places to chose from. Also grocery stores a few blocks away.

No AC, unfortunately. Otherwise, employees are nice, easy self check-in. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which doesn’t close until 10 or 10:30pm, bring your earplugs if you want to leave the window open.

Great hotel, well located and fuss-free check in and check out. I arrived late at night and it was super easy to find the location, access the key machine and get into my room.

The only down side is that there is no air conditioning other than opening the windows which have limits on them, so it was rather warm due to the heatwave. There was a large fan provided which was effective, but quite noisy to use in the night.

The in-room drinks (water bottle, coffee sachets) weren't replaced when the housekeeping came each day which was a bit odd, but otherwise it worked perfectly for a short business stay in Vienna.

This is a wonderful place to stay in central Vienna, just outside the ring. There are excellent amenities with lovely restaurants and cafés nearby. City Hotel Riess could make it easier to contact them with questions or concerns. No lift so you need to carry heavy luggage up 3 flights, but worth it for the price and convenience. Cleaning staff were helpful and friendly.

The room was clean and spacious and a very good deal for the price. But the reception is located on the second floor and there’s no elevator. So it might be a hazle if you have heavy bags. Also, the light in my bathroom was flickering and they never repaired it after I asked them.

The price was right

Cons: Did not receive any email from the hotel with a code needed to check in after 1400. The instructions on thr front door stated to press the button for reception and another button for 'emergency'. Eventually got through to someone via phone. Room light kept flickering on throughout the night and early morning, each time i would have to physically turn it off. Mentioned it to reception after the first night, still had thr same issue the second night.

Pros: Good location, room overall was perfect for one person, amenities (kitchen, laundry) were great.

Great location, walking distance to city centre and all the Christmas markets. Good kitchen area as well, a bonus. Only downside was walls are quite thin so could hear the TV, bathroom and snoring from the surrounding rooms!

Nice Hotel Easily Reached by Tram from Wien Hbf

This is a good hotel. The presence of a common kitchen and laundry room reminded me of my college days. The hotel could be reached by tram from Vienna Main Train Station (Wien Hbf). The tram stop is about 30m from the hotel. The room safe is a problem, and it does not lock [although it gave the user the impression it has been locked, but, a turn of the knob (after entering the locking combination) would proof otherwise!]. This problem was reported on the first day, but, was never addressed during my entire 4-night stay. I informed the check out staff of this issue when I checked-out, and even showed him the problem. I hope he had it taken care of, since, other guests, may not be as patient as I am. The maid (from Slovakia) works hard on her job. I witnessed her dedication to her duties. I hope the hotel management compensates her well!

It was such a cute little room that was perfect for my short stay and I wished I had stayed a little longer. The location is good, it's not far from many interesting things and the street was not loud at night. The room and the shared kitchen space were very clean. I'm also grateful that they allowed me to keep my luggage onsite after checking out.

Was given extremely bad advice about parking that cost me a lot of money. This money was paid to a hotel parking garage, not to them. But meanwhile, although Expedica told me it had collected £188.40 from me, the hotel demanded a further £178.74 from me at checkout. I think something very badly wrong. It seemed very nice, but the double financial whammy at the end of my stay was shocking. This ended up being a third class hotel for the price of a very expensive one.

Comfortable, quiet and a good location.
Very clean, minimal modern decor and very high ceilings. I was in room 105, with windows to Turkenstrausse and Schlickplatz. Bathroom was spacious, nice and clean. Excellent shower, no tub.
Proximity near the University and a short stroll to the Votivkirche, a beautiful neo-gothic church built in 1856 and finished in 1879.
Easy access to public transport as it it near Schottentor and
Schottenring metro stops–just 2 stops from the CAT train. And a tram
stop around the corner!
Wahringer Str. just up from Turkenstrausse has many eateries and cafes. Some fast food asian and lovely cafes as well. Coming back very late–everything closed, my go to place was the Argos on the corner–falafel very fresh!
Easy check in and the dining area always had some kind of cake! There was coffee on hand for self service as well as multiple kettles for teas. There was a fruit basket as well.
Rabeen, the front office lady was extremely helpful when I came to ask for a travel adapter which I'd forgotten to pack! She searched and searched for an extra one since other guests had taken what she had and in the end didn't disappoint!
My only complain was that the decorative pillow that was on my bed had been used (very much) by previous guests and had their smell on it and it was quite strong! Was a bit of a damper for me, being sensitive to aromas! I suppose I should've said something to housekeeping! Overall a very good stay.

Good value but beware no a/c

Part of the issue was my own fault - there was no air conditioning and either I didn't notice at booking or I thought I wouldn't need it mid-September. It was an ok stay but I think it's more about value than anything else. Kind of dorm room feel. I liked that it was something of a residential neighborhood - less touristy and an easy walk to the museums, etc. I didn't use the trams but they looked very convenient. The wifi was very good.

The property is very clean and in a quiet corner of the Vienna. There is a Pissza restaurant right on the corner - it closes around 11PM and it will be quiet after 11PM. The tram line D is just 1 minute away. The hotel provides coffee machine, coffee supplies, cakes, bread, apple, banana for free to hotel guests. There is a washing machine and drier in the property that hotel guests can use for free. I will definitely come back to this hotel again next time when I visit the beautiful Vienna.

This hotel had clean rooms with a lot of space for personal belongings. It might be better suited for young people (front desk & rooms up a flight of stairs, minimal staffing). There did not seem to be A/C and the receptionist wasn’t there until 8 am or in the evening. Location was a little far to walk to the major sights but public transportation & reasonable taxis were nearby. Pros & cons but good overall.

4 nights in Vienna for sight seeing. Hotel situated just off Schottenring about 10 minutes walk from Town Hall and 15 minutes to Museum Quartier. Nearest tram stop about 30 yards from hotel and U Bahn about 5 minute walk. If arriving after 3:30 pm, contact hotel in advance to obtain security code for front door as hotel is not staffed after this time.

Nach einem schönen Aufenthalt war der Service hinterher schlicht nicht vorhanden. Wir haben mit großer Sicherheit unbedacht etwas im Zimmer liegen gelassen, aber Riess City Rooms reagiert schlichtweg nicht auf unsere Nachragen und Bitten, Nachschau zu halten oder mit dem Servicepersonal zu sprechen. Das ist leider letztklassig für eine sonst sehr erstklassige Abwicklung.
