The hotel is located in a good area, it’s clean and near stores.
What I didn’t like was that at nights when I arrived late there was no one at the front desk. They probably were somewhere, but not visible. This made me uncomfortable because anyone can walk in undetected. NOT SAFE.

I was a solo traveler on business. I was placed in a room next to two families with kids that were very loud and kept slamming the doors all the time. Couldn’t rest! On top of that they do not have a phone on the room, so in order for me to address it I had to go down to the lobby, very inconvenient …
Shower was very uncomfortable, the shower cover glass was too short, couldn’t shower normal because water was coming out on the floor

We had a deluxe suite and it was honestly such a home from home and welcome break from busy city break. Spotless, tasteful - loved going back for my afternoon reset nap. Staff were lovely, very friendly. Location was superb for the Christmas markets - not right on top of them, but 10 minute walk. Also being in Josefstadt, there were a couple of fabulous resetaurants very close by - Marionhof and Fromme Helene. Both recommended. I also loved the whole theatre vibe and decor. Breakfasts were marvellous. Can't fault.

So everything was OK. The elevator wasn’t working but they were trying to get it fixed but still not working after 2 days. Things happen. I am not singing for that
The hot water is an issue. You have enough for 1 quick shower and that’s it!!! We tried early in the morning and late in the morning. It didn’t matter. You charge premium prices, the. I want hot water
Breakfast was meh. Served the same thing 3 days in a row. And I am not talking fresh. It was reheated from yesterday. Try the breakfast the first time to see if you want to commit. If it was me, had enough and would go down the street

Good customer service and location. The only downsides were the room temperature and the shower. Other than opening the window, we couldn’t set the temperature lower and keeping the window opened meant waking up at night to close and at some point to reopen. The showerhead doesn’t stay in the middle and ends up splashing water on the floor.

Bad things theres no phone to connect with the reception team u need to go to them every time and it was inconvenient that reception was off 10evening till next day, our flight was at noght when we arrived there was no reception and the doors wasnt opening do se need to wait at night with my 4 year old trying to figure out what to do,waited for2,5 hours till expedia employee connected with the management. Super frustrating but the next day One of the receptionist her name was Sara helped me with everything,she was really nice

The place to stay in Central Vienna

The location of the hotel close to the Vienna town hall was excellent. With the double glazing, noise was minimal and the good thick curtains + shutters and well isolated rooms ensured a good night's sleep. The staff were very friendly and the breakfasts were superlative - could not spend less then 50 mins there!

The room was big, the bed and pillows comfortable and relaxing, but we found the bathtub inconvenient.
The breakfast was fabulous, with a different choice for everyone.

Our room was upgraded to a nicer room at the front of the hotel. Unfortunately, these rooms can be quite noisy. I would recommend the hotel invest in heavier noise dampening curtains for these rooms.

Perfect location for us and a really great stay. Very easy walk to the parliament building and a tram stop only a minute or 2 walk away from the hotel. A Spar almost opposite and plenty of food options within a five minute walk.

The room was basic but clean and the aircon worked very well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There’s also a pool table and a quiet lounge perfect for an evening playing cards with drinks available at regular bar prices. Highly recommend staying here.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The room reminded me of an aging beauty hanging on to her faded glory: very tall ceilings with art nouveau-style chandeliers, deep red carpeting and faux antique style furnishings. Bathroom is basic white tile, but clean and bright. As far as location, it is somewhat walkable to the main sightseeing areas with easy access to the tram, however there must be hotels closer to the museums than this one. The front desk staff were very knowledgeable and helpful with directions.

Theater Hotel is an amazing place in the best Vienna location possible. We walked all over the city, and we were able to walk almost anywhere we want to.
The stuff is very kind and helpful, very client oriented. The room we had was great. Pretty big for 4(2 adults + 2 kids) people with a long hallway.
The breakfast was always delicious with quality food and drinks, the best breakfast you can ask for.
Also, they have a nice entry room with a billiard where you can chill and have couple of drinks in the late evening.
We like to try different places when we come to the same city, but this time we will definitely stay again in the Theater Hotel when we will visit Vienna next time.

A wonderful hotel in a quiet area of the city within walking distance to almost all of the main attractions and close to the Ubahn and tram system.

The hotel is updated in a modern yet classic Viennese style. The staff was helpful. The first night there was a noise issue in the unit above ( note the hotel's fault) and they dealt with he issue immediately and provided us with a fan to drown out the noise. Apart from the first night, very quiet hotel.

We had the breakfast once which was excellent.

Overall a very nice hotel to stay at in Vienna close to anything you need to see or to shop for.

Thank you Theater Hotel Vienna for a great week in your great City.

Hotel has a strong theater theme as reflected in its name. Intimate property. Unusual fitness room. Appears to be an older property, but the interior is up-to-date with modern bathroom fixtures, wifi, and hvac. Breakfast was excellent. Room was outstanding. Good location close to trams and underground. We paid for a suite but didn't have access to the kitchen facilities without paying another €30 per day. Breakfast is good - €15 in advance, €18 perday otherwise. Front desk staff very knowledgeable and helpful re getting around. They explained about weekly ticket for all transport which is well worth it if you're there even for only 4 days as we were.

We loved this hotel. It’s very conveniently located, close to the Museum Quartier, close to many great restaurants, cafés etc... The staff was very nice, always helpful with our questions. We liked the morning buffet breakfast very much, lots of choices. Our room was very nice, clean, not too spacious but very practically and nicely designed and cozy. We wished we had been asked ahead of time if we wanted the apartment to be supplied with cooking utensils, plates etc & not had to ask for them after we got to the apartment. There was also a charge for this.

Easy access to main attractions, but given the run-around for room change when discovered room was used and not cleaned and for asking for tea/coffee. Well handled communication but somehow lacking that extra mile.... needs more staff to double check things eg room too hot and had not been aired, locks on kitchen cupboards (really?) and sign off required for overpriced breakfast (maybe just ask room number next time?), bathroom odour nearby corridor. Missing bellboy and security. Overall ok, but hassles noted and doesnt justify value return.

The location is great and, for us, in walking or metro distance to everywhere that we wanted to go in Vienna. I really liked the neighborhood and we found good eateries there.
We liked our junior suite and the concierge was very helpful and even made a reservation for us at a local restaurant.
I like that this is an old hotel with history and charm.
I would have given this hotel a 5 but the mattrasses were not very comfortable and the shower leaked.
I would stay here again.

Great location. Very close to the Rathaus Christmas market and metro station. Many coffee shops around. Our room was clean with good shower but extremely small. It is the smallest room we have ever stayed at In Europe. We have just enough space to walk around the bed. No coffee maker. If you want to use their teeny-tiny kitchenette, there is an additional charge of 10 euros per day.

Before anything else is said, the staff and service we're outstanding!!! The hotel is like a luxury boutique in the finest European elegance! Breakfast and the staff running it was always superb! The front desk staff were extremely nice, helpful and caring!!! The room was clean and very comfortable. The location just down from the Rathaus Ubahn stop was excellent. Overall, the hotel was okay. I didn’t find the beds very comfortable and the AC wasn’t working great. I also found quite a bit of hair in the bathroom (stuck on the walls etc) so I’m not sure the cleanliness was up to par based on the price. I’ve stayed in hostels or hotels for a fraction of the price that had more amenities and better comfort.

It is easy to walk to a lot of places and at night the neighborhood was quite quiet.

Very comfortable 6 night stay. Just a 5 minute walk from Rathaus U bahn station on U2 line. (Take the Josefstädterstraße exit and cross main road towards Café Eiles) . The hotel is next to a theatre. The Josefstädterstr. has interesting shops - old traditional & individual shops and also supermarkets. I did not have breakfast in hotel (rather expensive) but went to Café Eiles who do breakfast sets.
There was a fridge in the room and the reception staff lent me a kettle (sadly rare in Austrian or German hotels). Staff at reception all very friendly and helpful. I slept really well here as it was quiet and was not aware of other guests. It’s easy to walk to the Albertina and beyond to Stephansdom or you can get the tram or U-bahn.

A nice and comfortable hotel close to everything

This hotel was fantastic for our 5 night stay in Vienna. The hotel is very close to the Rathaus and some great restaurants. We booked the \"presidential\" suite which actually was quite nice. There were two separate bedrooms, a bath room and a living room. The room had AC which was very welcomed as it was in the upper 80's during our visit. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The breakfast was typical fare (eggs, bacon, pastries, fruit, assorted cakes, yogurt, and coffee) and the staff working the dining room were very attentive and courteous. The hotel does not offer a laundry service, but I found a laundromat just a short 10 min walk away, so no issues with that. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again if I traveled back to Vienna.
