Room was clean and adequate but far too hot. The radiator was behind the bed but I didn't spot that until the following day. The bed covering was very inadequate and didn't cover half the bed and the pillow (I normally only use one pilow) was exeptuonally thin.
There was no regulation on shower - went from boiling hot to freezing cold.

Ok, so it's not the Ritz but it is in a great location for the Christmas market (the reason for our visit). There is a tram stop out the front making travel to other Vienna must sees very easy. The cafe over the road has great gnocchi and there is a convenience store a few shops away. If you need somewhere clean, comfy and convenient Pension Vera is great.

This was a very very very small room. But super clean, they do well with the space they can, and you get what you pay for. Super close to lots of public transport and great food options. I felt I was staying in the centre of Vienna which was nice, close to everything. I would stay here again if only for a night or two, if for longer you’d probably need a larger room.

The front staff was excellent and so friendly. In an older historical building with beautiful floors. A good spot to sleep and rest. Shower were good water pressure. There is a metro stop in front of the building which helps you access all of Vienna.

The person at the reception does not know about customer service, he did not care about anything.

Where do we even start?
First of all- the bathroom reeked of urine. Stale, old urine which makes you question the cleanliness immediately.
The room was freezing but has a radiator. The radiator works but knocks and rattles every 5 seconds so you either have to be ok with the noise while sleeping or turn it off like we did and freeze. This was mentioned to the front desk but with no resolution. Not even an offer of extra blankets. Oh and the staff on reception aren’t the most welcoming either. The young women that saw us to the room could do with some lessons in customer service. A smile doesn’t hurt.
If you can get past the smell, the cold or the radiator problems you should probably know that this hotel is above a nightclub. Thankfully the loud music, heavy bass and shouting patrons tune out the noise of the radiator if you put it on.
To add to all of this the walls are paper thin. We heard our neighbours every movement from them rolling around in bed to their bathroom trips. If we heard them, they heard us.
All in all, a very sleepless, cold and uncomfortable stay. Do not recommend.

It is a small place with real nice staff and local stores in the 9th/8th district. The comfort is fair for the price. Even though updates are needed, the staff is real kind, and again, the price reflect the simplicity of the hotel. We stayed for one night.

I recommend this hotel. It was about 15-20 mins walk to the centre/museums but you don't feel the time because it is full with nice buildings and parks. The area was O.k., has few fast food restaurants and grocery shops. The room was clean, renovated (with outdated furniture) and has a fridge. There is an indoor parking about 5 min walk and cost 20 euro per day but you can park for free on the street only for limited hours.

Was a little difficult to locate. Rooms where comfortable and clean. Location was a plus. The staff here offered to exchange currency without us asking for it and after we turned down the offer he became indifferent to any questions we asked. Though breakfast was included the staff told us that breakfast is not served here but elsewhere in the vicinity. He didn't say where or offer any other help. Hence the rating given is only for the sweet lady who checked us in and the rooms.

The room was small, but not overly so, we had plenty of room, it was also clean. The security at the hotel was okay, the interior door was frequently left open by other guests. Location was very good. It's right across from the LRT stop, and several eateries for breakfast. They have a deal with one right across the street which provides a very good breakfast for 9 Euros. Parking is at a separate site, which is a ten minute walk away. There is a grocery store practically next door, as well as other stores in the immediate area. The nearest subway is a five minute tram ride away. The staff was very good.

Pension Vera is very well located on the Alser Str so convenient for trams and shops/cafes.

My room was very clean and tidy overlooking the court yard which made the room cool when the window was open. I also had privacy as there were no flats opposite my window so was quiet. My only problem for me the mattress was a bit too hard.

The Pension had advertised 'breakfast buffet', hence the reason for booking this place, however, they don't do breakfast in the Pension and when I pointed this out I was immediately refunded €25. They should take out the wording in their advert.

Cheap stay close to Vienna city center

I was at this hotel for 4 nights during my visit to Vienna with 2 friends.

The entrance to the pension is not very obvious and a bit shabby, in a shared building with other offices/businesses. Look for the numbers on the door to ring.

Despite calling the pension ahead of time to arrange for a late check-in and arriving at the specific hour we agreed for check-in, we had to wait outside for 25 minutes with frantic door bell buzzing and telephone calls until finally someone came downstairs to let us in. Other than this set-back in service, the rest of the service was very good and they did allow us a free late check-out to make up for our troubles.

The room was good, not too clean, but okay. Everything in the room worked, though the drain for the bathroom sink was a bit clogged. A quick word with the reception got it fixed right away.

Room had a small TV and a refrigerator, no cable channels. Very few available power outlets in the room. Whichever ones are available you have to fish out with the extension chords hidden behind the bed. Bed were comfortable. Room looks well-kept, but not as well maintained, judging by the miss-matched colors on the walls, maintenance is on a budget.

The location is really what saves this property. A short walk to the ring street where all major attractions are. For the location and price, you can't get much better than this.

The staff was rude, I made a reservation for one personne, they gave me a room with three beds, when I told them that I need a room with onebed, they said that they dont have it today, but they will have tomorrow, the next day they charged me 10 euros more because the room had three beds and it was for family. Then they said that the price in the internet was not correct, and the price is higher even for one bed room. I had to spend the next day to find another place.

Decent hotel for the price

A budget option in an expensive city, Pension Vera offers large, clean, fairly quiet rooms in a good location. Services are minimal but as a place to sleep, it fits the bill. Broadband is fast and included in the room rates.

On arrival, after a tiring journey, the receptionist took half an hour to find us a room though this had been booked beforehand. He also asked for a cash payment up front. We were told we would have to move to another room the following day. Breakfast was poor and hotel family members had their own, rather better breakfast at neighbouring tables in the cramped breakfast room and talked very loudly! We left the same day.

We are a family of four and appreciated the spaciousness of the room. We looked out to a courtyard which was very quiet. Good transit connections with tram 43 or 44 stopping at the front door. Breakfast was extra but it was worth the small fee. Note - this is a typical European pension, not really a hotel so don't panic at the modest entrance and lobby. The rooms are good.

Not the best local - quite a walk to the train. Do not be fooled by the tiny entrance to this hotel, or the not so elegant neighborhood. The rooms were clean and large. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was the best we had in Europe!!! Highly recommended.

We booked a room for three persons, but we arrived only two. We got a room for two persons, which was OK, but we still had to pay the room for three persons, which I didn't find very fair or friendly. It's true we were close of christmas.
Apart from this, the hotel was OK, clean and comfortable, and close of everything, with very good public transport.

Dark and dingy pension difficult to get into I ahd trouble at ngiht with the lock to the front door and the receptionist refused to come down to help me. Convenient for the metro but not much to do in the immediate area although it did feel safe. Room was pretty dingy as well with a shower seperate from the toilet which was basically under the stairs and cramped. Breakfast better than expected. Quite expensive for the standard I think better options are probably available.

This hotel is situated within 5 mins walk to underground stations or the tram stops right outside this hotel.
The hotel is situated between two shops through a side door, but dont allow this to put you off. It is a basic hotel, but if your looking at doing a budget trip to Vienna its perfect for it :-D

The receptionist couldnt speak a lot of English, but enough to check you in and if you had any questions she would answer them very well. But to be honest, people should do their own home work before going as the internet is such a massive tool to use for that.

The room was basic, but amazingly clean, fresh towels everyday and also really comfortable. Shower was always hot and the toilet was immaculate

I WOULD DEFINATELY STAY BACK HERE IF I HAD TO GO BACK TO VIENNA!

Pension Vera is very conveniently located within a short walking distance from the Vienna university campus. Rooms are very quiet and clean. Staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great and there was wireless internet in the room. I would certainly recommend this place to my friends.

Easy to get to. # 43 Tram stops right outside the door. Take the S7 subway from the airport to Landstrasse station then transfer to the U3 to West Bahnhoff station then transfer to the U6 to the Alser Strasse station. Exit the station and take the # 43 Tram towards Schwarzspanier Strasse and get off at the second stop. The pension is across the street.
The only down side was no air conditioning or fan in the room. It was hot during my 3 night stay. The neighborhood is a busy avenue and food opportunities are limited during the night. There are university residences down the block that have late night cafes in a back courtyard where food can be bought after other eateries are closed.
The #43 tram can take you to the city center (or walk down Alser Strasse) and from there more trams and the subways are available. You can buy 24, 48, or 72 hour transit cards which will get you onto all modes of inner-city transit systems. They are a good deal.
The pension was a bit over priced for the services offered. It's located on the second floor of a walk up commercial building. It's not a hotel but more like a hostel with in room bath facilities. But does offer a free breakfast of typical European style.

Hotel location is a bit away from city centre but well serviced by undergrounds & trams. The room was spartan but clean. Breakfast was good. Communicating with hotel staff was tricky even while I speak three other languages (French, Spanish & Japanese). Otherwise this is a very good valued place to stay in very expensive Vienna.

However, i did not find the owner particuarly friendly-she took my passport off me and checked it at the reception which i found quite heavyhanded especially as the bill was already paid. otherwise it was ok.The entrance to the hotel is a bit spooky and as a solo traveller did put me off a bit.

This accommodation was very basic and dorm-room-esque, but it was very reasonably priced and very clean. It was a good option if you just need somewhere to sleep and you are a deep sleeper. It is also on top of a nightclub, which was quite noisy at times. It did have a TV, which impressed me.

I found this hotel to be a pleasant place to spend a few nights, given that you intend to be exploring the city most of the time. The room is fairly spacious and definitely clean, but a bit chilly. Reasonable bouffet breakfast is included, it is simple but filling. Surprisingly not all reception staff would speak English, but that was not a major obstacle. The hotel is located just three tram stops from the Ring, and trams run every four minutes or so.

A nice little pension. They need to give public transportation directions: From the Airport train terminal, take the U4 2 stops to Schottenring. Take the U2 1 stop to Schottentur-Universitat. Take the 43 or 44 trolley 3 stops and you'll be at the door of the pension.

Es muy buen lugar. Si solo vas a visitar unos días está muy bien. En el piso de abajo, donde estaba mi habitación hace algo de frío en la época en la que estuve. Puedes guardar tu comida en la nevera comun del piso de la recepción y allí tambien hay una cocina. Las paredes son delgadas y facilmente escuchas a tus vecinos en la noche. Aunque, no había nadie tan ruidoso. No fue un gran problema. A veces el internet se pone lento. Pero normalmente funciona.
El señor joven de recepción es totalmente amable! La señora más adulta no lo es tanto, pero tampoco es mala.
Lo que más me encantó fue la zona. Está muy bien ubicada la pensión. Llegas en 15min a pie al Ayuntamiento y la zona turistica. En frente está el bus y dos línes de tranvía a menos de 2min caminando. El metro queda como a 7min caminando. La zona es muy segura y tranquila.

Isolation phonique moyenne avec les voisins donc prévoyez des boules quies.
Chambre située sur une cour donc aucune nuisance de la rue.
Tram juste devant la porte du bâtiment.

Det var tydeligvis et pensionat for østeuropæiske håndværkere. Drikkelag om natten, så man fik ikke meget ro.
Det var ikke en gang billigt. Jeg følte det meget utrygt.
Værelset var meget lille og skrabet, skæve gulve og en seng der med fordel kunne fortjene en ny madras - den var hul i midten efter virkelig mange overnatninger.
