Room was clean, and the bed was very comfy. Love the finishing touches on the room that they leave you to find such as the grandfather clock in my room that opens and lights up. Just be aware cars cannot drive right up to the main entrance. It was a little confusing for my driver who pulled up to the top of the building and I had to dodge partygoers with my luggage in a dark bar. Would stay again and would recommend.

I thought this would be an interesting experience. What I didn’t know, and the listing did not say, is that downstairs there is a bar where music plays until 4 in the morning! The BASE from it was vibrating in my bed 2 floors above it, so we could not sleep! Unfortunately, my booking was for 3 nights, but by midnight on the first night I was already looking for another hotel. When I complained about the noise, they offered me to move 1 floor higher, but I knew the music was blasting through the whole building, so I said I cannot stay for the remaining 2 nights and asked for a refund, which they denied.
Do NOT book there if you are planning to sleep at all.

This was such a fun experience. I will say this is not a normal hotel and recommend it to anyone that wants to try something new. The rooms are exactly as the pictures. The one thing I will point out is that if you are checking in for the first time you can go thru the bar entrance and then there is an elevator if you have lots of luggage or else you have to go thru the entrance in the bottom and that is all stairs to get check. But the rooms are so well decorated. For those asking about the noise with the club downstairs. The rooms are well insulated that you can't hear it. It was centrally located to everything.

We loved it! The history of the place, the decor, furnishings, the comfortable rooms, all of it. Had the best sleep in all of our trip because of the double-double windows shutting out all the noise from Pink Street. Lots of dining options nearby! As someone who loves a boutique hotel with unique features, I adored this place. Also as someone who doesn't like crowds, it's a bit rough trying to enter at night with the main entrance being on pink street.

The room itself was very large, the amenities were really quite excellent, and their staff were all great. They accommodated my ridiculously early check in without hassle, had wifi great enough for me to do business calls without issue, and having a California King bed was a wonderful surprise.

I'd definitely recommend staying here, especially for the adventurous couple or group.

The noise was well dampened by the windows but being right in the middle of the action is going to invite more noise than a mountain lodge.

The decor is over the top just like you want. The bar downstairs had good action and decently priced drinks. The restaurant choice is excellent, the market is great for lunch and sangria. Bus & trains station are a short walk.

This is such a cool experience. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and stocked with all the necessary toiletries. Location is fantastic; you are right off Pink Street near bars and food. It is a loud location, so if you are looking for a quiet, reserved location, this will not be the location for you. BUT if you’re looking to take in the sights and try something new, this is the perfect place! Absolutely loved our stay.

I was travelling alone and stayed here for a couple of nights. The room was super clean and big, but a bit dark (especially the bathroom). The receptionist who welcomed me was really sweet and helpful. I was able to check-in earlier as per my request, which I really appreciate. The location of the hotel is fantastic and you can walk to the heart of Lisbon in no time (lots of great restaurants and cafés around too). Pink St. was a bit noisy at night, but the noise levels were bearable as my room was facing the other direction. Unsuitable for family with kids and those who can't manage some stairs. Overall, I loved the charm and history of this place, and I would certainly stay here again.

This hotel has the best location in the city, especially if you are here for leisure travel. There are so many options for food and drinks within a few blocks around the hotel.

You can easily walk to the Metro/tram and the train to Cascais, or catch a taxi/uber/bolt at the corner.

The staff were extremely nice.

The rooms all have double windows so any noise from Pink Street are completely silenced.

Only downside is the TV's are encased inside a giant mirror box so you can't connect to the HDMI port.

I definitely recommend this hotel to everyone staying in Lisbon.

The space’s design is really special, and our room was great. Being on the fifth floor meant we avoided the noise from the bar and Pink Street.

That said, our stay started a bit bumpy. When we arrived, no one greeted us at the bar, and the check-in area was a floor up—accessible only with a key (which we didn’t have). We stood there awkwardly with our bags, unsure where to go.

Once we finally reached the desk, we learned the elevator was out—and our room was on the fifth floor. Then came, “There’s a problem with your reservation. You only booked for one person.” It was clearly a minor booking error, but the agent treated it like a big issue. After ten minutes of silent typing and a call to the manager, we were finally checked in.

A little warmth or reassurance would’ve gone a long way after eight hours of travel—especially since we were asked to haul our bags up five flights. The young woman helping with my bag grunted and sighed the whole way—no smile, no “enjoy your stay.” Everyone else was pleasant, but her attitude really colored our first impression.

This is a fun, stylish place and potentially romantic, but don’t expect hotel-level service. It feels more like a hostel with private rooms.

Wacky and wild, def not for kids, located in the heart of the heart of the Pink Street entertainment area, this was a fun stay. No ground floor so you carry your bags straight up the stairs that may be full of dancers and bar visitors if you arrive after 8pm. Very good double windows keep out most music and hubbub of the street. Bathroom nice and clean, fun furnishings, huge bed that was good for sleep.

Copenhagen Coffee House, street behind Pink Street hotel entrance, is great. Be advised, check-in is on second floor with awkward, somewhat steep stairs. Lift available from bar level, which is two flights up from Pink Street. Also look for hotel eliminated sign not building number on Pink Street entrance. Metro/train station is close. Time Out Market is a must! Across from metro/train station. Taylor’s sangria is absolutely delicious! Enjoy Portugal!

We absolutely LOVED our stay! The details in the design, the quality of the furniture, bedding, amenities, etc really took you back in time. Our bed was the biggest bed we’ve ever seen, and the historic (and sexy) touches throughout the room and hotel were perfection. We felt safe, cared for, and would recommend this Pensao Amor to anyone looking fur a unique experience! We were on the 3rd floor & the double windows blocked out 90% of sound coming from Pink St below, and our sound machine app took care of the rest. The lounge below is a great time. We had hot water, and great water pressure. The bed was super comfortable, and we were just delighted with the entire experience! Note that you need to haul your luggage up a couple flights of stairs before you reach the lift. A small price to pay for a unique stay!

The room was very clean and got cleaned regularly. The aircon was definitely handy with it being quite warm outside (23 degrees on average). The location was great to get easily to all the places in the old town and it was near Cais de Sodre, a train station that takes you to surrounding areas and towns. There was usually staff at the desk and the check in and out times were great too. Overall a really good stay, I can’t fault it.

Wonderful beautiful hotel. It is on a very busy street both during the day and night. You can expect noise and excitement well into the evenings early morning. Our room was large and comfortable. There was some furnishings that were a little worn but it added to the experience.
The location was excellent. Staff were helpful and pleasant. We seemed to arrive at a time that they were busy so our check-in took longer than usual and the reason not rated a 5. The staff and rooms are excellent, showers are a delight to use. Not much extras provided, you have to pay for everything you may consume from the room fridge. However please be advised the street in front of the hotel is a tourist party street and music goes on from the bar downstairs until late night. The double soundproof windows filternout most of the noise and earbuds are provided, but it can still be an issue for very light sleepers.

Quirky and unique hotel in Lisbon

The property itself is really unique with a very interesting background which the receptionist was kind enough to tell me about.

They were very accomodating, allowing us to check in early and book last minute parking.

The room was quirky (I wont spoil it) and we really enjoyed seeing all the features.

I have removed one star as although the hotel sent the check in process before, they didn't explain how to get in touch on arrival. They stated they had parking available, but did not clarify this needed to be booked and for an additional fee.The other thing to note is that there is a bar/entertainment room on site which does stay open quite late and the sound does travel a bit. Fortunately this wasnt a huge problem as we were pretty tired from exploring the city!

The breakfast is not something you have options with, however I cannot fault what was offered and the presentation was so cute.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this place to friends as a unique experience.

The rooms and hotel are interesting, the beds, pillows and towels were super comfortable.

The room was fairly clean, but the hotel had a really smell. The hallways and reception had the smell of an old old bar.

The biggest issue is that the hotel is on top of a club that had music or a DJ playing until 3 or 4 am. Every night I went to bed I had to use earplugs plus my noise cancelling headphones, and I still felt the vibration through the bed. We stayed here for 3 nights.

We knew that the hotel was on Pink street, which is a party area, and we knew that there was a bar in the building, but we were not aware of the fact that it’s a full on club and so loud! We had awful sleeps the whole time due to the noise. For this reason, I really don’t recommend staying here.

I also had a not-so-great experience with the front desk woman when I asked for earplugs.

The bar was super fun, and the bar staff there were awesome and super watchful for dangerous situations. I definitely suggesting going here for drinks but don’t recommend staying in the hotel.

In addition- pink street has some pretty aggressive drug dealers who harassed us multiple times, and really creeped us out. Another reason why I don’t suggest staying here.

My recent stay at Pensão Amor Madam's Lodge in Lisbon was a truly unique experience, to say the least. I'll admit, I booked somewhat blindly, and what I discovered was definitely unexpected, but ultimately delightful. This is not a family-friendly establishment; it's decidedly for adults and offers a playful, sensual atmosphere.

Pensão Amor walks a fascinating line somewhere between a boutique hotel, a historical attraction, and perhaps even a touch of a high-end \"love hotel,\" though that label feels a bit too simplistic. Each room is uniquely designed and themed, and the enthusiastic staff are more than happy to share the history and stories behind each one. It adds an intriguing layer to the stay.

The attention to detail throughout the lodge is impressive. Everything was impeccably clean, which is always a plus. The location is absolutely fantastic, right on the vibrant Pink Street. You're surrounded by bars, clubs, and all sorts of entertainment, making it the perfect base for exploring Lisbon's nightlife.

This is an awesome experience, whether you're traveling solo or with a partner. Just a word of caution: definitely leave the kids at home! They might stumble upon some of the \"hidden fun\" left around, and it's certainly not appropriate for young eyes. If you're looking for something a bit different, a little risqué, and a lot of fun, I highly recommend Pensão Amor. I, for one, will definitely be back.

This property is just fun-tastic, the rooms are filled with small and well thought details, some of them quite naughty. It is true what guests say about not being able to sleep until around 4am on the weekends - however if you book Madam's Lodge you must not sleep. There's too much to do at the hour of the wicked! An absolute must to visit and enjoy yourself as never done before... Also, check out is at 2pm so there's plenty of time to sleep after the party. Daniel at the desk was lovely and very quick to help and answer to any queries I had.

Themed Hotel

A fun themed hotel based on the history of the building as a brothel. Perfect for couples! Location is excellent- right on Pink Street so close to everything. Only negative is the elevator does not start until level 1 which is one and a half story climb. Fortunately, the lovely man at check in helped us with our cases. Great stay.

I was staying a couple extra days after the end of the work trip. While the hotel is certainly 'eclectic', especially in the common areas shared with the bar where the decor is it's risque-isk, it's definitely not over the top - other than a couple themed decorations in the room that could offend only the most reserved of guests, it was overall just a really nice hotel room and way cooler to stay in than a vanillia hilton or marriott. You are right above pink street and the music/excitement/chaos, but there are literally two sets of windows and can only hear very low noise - and of course you're in a great area right near all of the action. Really enjoyed my 2 nights there. Warning to those that don't like stairs - there is an elevator but you still need to get up at least two flights to get to it. It's a cool older building and that's the tradeoff

It’s fun place to stay as the hotel has the busiest bar in town. The rooms like staying in a museum of Portuguese callgirl culture. This is not the place to stay with teenagers or young kids. Adults only.

This place should have gotten five stars, but they screwed up. Read on and I'll explain how to avoid this trap with bad marketing. After flying to Lisbon all I wanted was a good bath. I saw a picture of a freestanding bathtub in the room, so I picked it. This is where things go awry. Each floor has similar rooms, bu they are different. More importantly, different from the photos you were asked to pick from. For example, I thought I picked the bathrub room, but by the time I arrived, I now have a room with a sauna. Minus one star for no bathtub. Minus one more star for a sauna that takes hours to get hot, and never got hotter than 52 degrees according to the temp guage. Another room on the top floor has a steam shower. Only some of the rooms on the middle floors have a balcony. ALL of these things need to be confirmed BEFORE booking with the hotel. It is in a very noisy area, but they had double windows, both with double glazing to keep the party out from below when you want to sleep. It was a great place, just too bad the pictures do not show what you are going to get. I wpuld even stay here again, but only because i now know how to avoid the trap.

Cool, unique stay

The decor and vibe are really cool, and the location is very central and walkable. We were in the bar above the club, and you can deinitely hear the music from there and the street at night.

The concept of this hotel was so interesting and very well-executed. They are very attentive and paid a lot of attention to details. It was also located right in the heart of Pink Street, so we had very easy access to the surrounding bars and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!

It was a quirky place to stay and great for a night or two. The bar was popular, lively and good service.
The room was very dark (part of the atmosphere) but did prove difficult to see to get ready! There was also an issue with the TV and internet but this was a supplier issue rather than the hotel’s issue.
It’s in a good location in Pink Street for other drinking venues. Easy walking for other sites.
It was a shame there wasn’t a breakfast option but we enjoyed our stay.

The establishment does embrace its playful, former brothel, red-light district ambiance, though it leaned too heavily into the theme for my taste. Upon arrival, there was a notable lack of communication from the staff regarding check-in procedures, which was particularly frustrating after a long red-eye flight from New York. We were left waiting in the bar, well past the check-in time, before anyone attended to us.

While access to the hotel from the bar/lounge areas requires a special pass, the room’s deadbolt was nonfunctional, leaving us feeling uneasy. Adding to our discomfort, a smoke alarm went off at 3:45 am, forcing us to evacuate without guidance or any indication of when it was safe to return. Outside, the alarm was inaudible, and after over 15 minutes without direction, we assumed the situation was under control and returned to our room. The staff’s lack of coordination during this incident was particularly troubling.

Further compounding our experience, neither the television nor the internet worked. Despite being told it was a temporary issue, we later learned from other guests that this is a persistent problem. If the amenities are perpetually unavailable, it might be more transparent for the hotel to simply remove them from their offerings.

Lastly, the bathroom fan was broken, though curiously, the bedroom’s decorative mirrorball light was fully operational—perhaps a telling reflection of the hotel’s misplaced priorities.
