The hotel looks absolutely beautiful inside and out, however it is incredibly noisy. I could hear everything going on in the next rooms and hallways, and every siren in the street. This would not normally bother me except they advertise sound proof rooms! They also advertise laundry facilities but there is only an expensive wash service where it costs more to have socks washed than to buy more.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I was across from the elevator but did not hear any noise. They have a Nespresso in the room with coffee pods but no tea offered. There is no kettle in the room so to get hot water, I had to go to the front desk with my thermal mug to have them fill it from the bar. There was a 1 L bottle of water in the room but it was only complimentary if you booked your stay directly through the hotel. I confirmed with the front desk that as I used a booking site, I would have to pay for the water. First time I’ve encountered this in a hotel stay.

It's fine. The best thing I can say is the staff was friendly.
But our room wasn't as nice as the pictures.The cleaning was very subpar, even after asking for a better clean multiple times. We also only got tissues and shower gel refilled after specifically asking for it. Made us not book the spa which we initially planned on doing since we couldn't trust the cleanliness.

We were very impressed with the kind of service all staff extended to all customers. The GM/Owner walked around each table to greet everyone. It's the personal touch that made the difference. It is not the center of town but everything is accessible via tram,train,taxi or Bolt(Uber). I highly recommend this hotel.

We appreciated that some of the workers speak quite good English. The cleaning girl is kind and thorough. We appreciated that when we needed to extend out stay due to a family medical emergency, they worked to keep us in the same room. The desk people gave us helpful advice about nearby shopping. The breakfast is bountiful, delicious, classic Austrian.

Nice place but 2 sketchy male employees

My stay was great. Exceeded my expectations. The hotel and room were clean. Bed was a little hard otherwise no major issues. Nice place but don’t think I will b returning there.
My only issue is they don’t have a lock from inside and on two different days, a male staff unlocked my door with their key and came into my room. This was very early in the morning and I was awake and reading which took them by surprise he stood at the door like a deer in headlights. Mind you he didn’t knock or announce himself. I asked if I could help he said he was there to get trash. After he took my trash he asked if I needed anything and I told him water but I never heard from him again. Later that day I saw a different housekeeping but didn’t think much of it until the second time around same time in the morning again but this time around as soon as he opened the door and saw me at the study table, he quickly closed the door when I asked “can I help you ?”. 10 minutes later same thing but different male staff.
I spoke with the receptionist and also the manager or owner they were clueless as regards to who or why these men came to my room unannounced. At this point I became scared for my safety and wondered what would’ve happened if I wasn’t awake. Luckily it was my last day there. As I could not get a clear reason for their being there. Clearly they were employees or how else would they have access / keys to my room? I wonder if they followed up on this as they were not too alarmed by it

Very nice staff, decent room. The elevator would only work sporadically, which wasn’t ideal. The safe in our room was broken so we had to use the security boxes in the lobby, so whenever we needed to get our stuff we had to have an attendant help us.

Fantastic value for money in a great spot

Fantastic unique independent hotel in a great location, enough going on nearby but also had great links into the centre. Superb value for money.

The staff were always very friendly with the desk always manned which made it super practical to pop out whenever needed. The rooms were all lovely, but especially the upgraded Deluxe rooms, super modern, spacious and airy.

Thankfully the bar of the hotel is open late and even offers snacks which is ideal after a few evening drinks.

The breakfast was a bit disappointing and with many, much better places to eat nearby: I'd definitely say it isn't worth the money and you're better of heading out for food.

My only real criticism was that the room cleaning service was a bit mixed. Our beds were always made nicely and
they always timed it well so as not to disturb us when we were in. But, two of the three rooms we had booked had to get new toilet paper ourselves at least once, as this simple but very necessary item was not replaced. We also lost our bathmat one day but luckily that came back soon after.

Happiness has everything to do with the people you experience life with. This marvelous gem of a hotel has a genuinely caring and attentive teamed staff. Nora who greeted us upon arrival set the stage for this and Milli, Elizabeth , and Anastasia carried the momentum of great service. Our housekeeper, so sorry we did not get her name worked 15 of the 16 nights we stayed. Yet each morning she greeted us with a huge smile and accomodated every need. Everything including a dynamic breakfast is done with class. We knew they all loved their jobs there and it showed in everything. We believe they appreciated us being there. Kluss family members were present daily assuring all customers were happy.
Just far out from the old center to be quieter, the area offered 3 food stores if your into eating on the run and midnight snacks and Bahn 44 is literally at the steps of the hotel and access to U6 a 3 minute walk. Lots of extras including live music with Sunday brunch to the tissues at departure made this a wonderfully memorable venture.
We travel to Europe twice a year and have been to Vienna 4 times. We will be back. Thank you. I forgot to mention we got an unrequested free upgrade of our room. Nora was the Star!!

Nice looking building & nice interior decor touches not a bad position for Vienna walkable.
Building work noise srarted in roon next door at 8 am woke us up complained no apology from managment or room move offered ,no reply to my rmail . Double bed but single duvets on it ? No tea or coffee left 2nd night bed head positioned under window light shinning in on face from under curtains all night..

Good but wifi didn’t work!!

The location was good, about an hour away from the airport by public transportation and within 30 minutes of public transportation of all the sites we wanted to see. The staff were friendly and offered help with directions! The biggest flaw of this hotel was their wifi. We had a room on the third floor and the wifi did not work at all in our room, we had to stand in the hallway to use it. Not sure if this is the case for all rooms, but that was our experience.

Great Hotel, not far from anywhere.

The rooms are interesting. There are various themes from the different iconic Austrian companies. Ours was themed after the Ottakringer brewery. Pleasant and fun to stay in.
Breakfast was good. Recommendation is to have cappuccino available with breakfast and not the giant urn of bad coffee. Vienna is famous for it's coffee, with all that is good about this hotel, why not give us great coffee. I will stay there again when I travel from Budapest.
As well, I was pleasantly surprised at how close we were to everything by public transportation. The U6 is right there and it's a 20 minute ride to St. Stephens in the centre of the city.

The property is undergoing major renovations to the outside. This DID NOT affect my room. The room was quiet and comfortable. It did, apparently, affect the WIFI. I did not have access in the room. The hotel is close to old town Vienna but closer to a couple of 'gentleman's clubs' and right on the major road 221. The common spaces are dark and the upholstery needs cleaning or to be changed. If you simply need a room for 8 hours a day, this is a good place. If you want a few more features, best look elsewhere.

The Hotel was undergoing work to outside of hotel which we didn’t know about until arrival, one morning work started at 0750! Very noisy! However was short lived! Although I think we were in a refurbished room the bathroom was bit dated, separate toilet with no sink, steps up to toilet and particular bathroom unsafe. Staff polite and helpful, 24 hour reception. Not too central a location but transport links very nearby. Very good value for money.

The hotel was in front of the tram station.
Far from the downtown you have to go by either 2 trams or to change metro to reach downtown however it doesn't take much time almost 15-20 min.,
The reception guy refused to give us 2 rooms beside each other as he has no availability while the room next to mine was empty and under cleaning and he said we should leave note while making the reservation!!!! I reserved 2 rooms by my name, same check in and check out dates and it seems he needed more clarification still do know what it can be !! However, I think it was my bad luck as the other guys were helpful may be if the check in was not in his shift it would have been solved.

Great hotel, very close to public transportation (44 streetcar and U6). Our room was small and the decor was a little strange, but the service was great. I was especially delighted when housekeeping left a bookmark on the book I had on the shelf.

I also enjoyed being within walking distance to plenty of bars and restaurants, without being in a tourist area.

The room layout was not ideal, the tv was positioned on the wall with the two beds out of view of it. I’m not sure if this was the case in other rooms but it meant I had some rearranging to do.

Not as boutique as expected

Looking through all of the hotels in Vienna for a long break this seemed like a great place to stay as it was family owned and not part of any clinical feeling chain.

However, the hotel did not really meet the standards that were expected from a boutique experience.

With the exception of the lobby and check in desk , the whole hotel felt a bit tired. Many of the areas could do with a new lick of paint to feel fresher.

The room we stayed in seemed like it was trying to be some sort of Asian theme, which was interesting and obviously a fair bit of money had been spent on acquiring these quirky items, but it would have been better invested in keep the room feeling fresh.

We also had a particularly odd experience where we seemed to be rationed to 1 sachet of coffee in the room per day, and upon asking at the hotel reception we were told we had to wait until the next day to receive an additional sachet, unfortunately when room keeping came around the hot beverage selection was never replenished.

Overall the surround area is cool with some nice bars around, but the hotel is certainly not worth the £100+ per night we paid.

Great hotel with unique breakfasts

It is a lovely hotel with interesting purple and green theme inside. Everyone helped us out when we needed it and were very friendly. The room could do with some updating but the bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked quietly and it had everything you needed electrically. Could have done with a large mirror in bedroom but plenty in the hallways. Had a garden view room which was very quiet considering the busy road at the front. Could hear birds singing. A few minutes walk from train station. Very convenient place. Breakfast amazing at the weekend as live pianist and violinist playing plus delicious food. Cafes a few minutes away too. Would stay there again. Vienna beautiful city.

The staff were all very friendly the afternoon check in girl was very helpful. It is a busy hotel so sometimes I needed to wait a while for the key. It isn't a quiet area and it was so hot we needed the windows wide open so sleep was a bit disturbed. Beds were comfy and the room was spacious for three. Cleaners could do with a bit of a 'pep talk' . Breakfast was a good selection and the staff were very good, best to get down early though as good can be sitting out for a while. Don't use the chocolate sprinkles!

The air conditioning was turned off over night and couldn’t be turned back on, when asked the night receptionist she abruptly told us she didn’t know and to ask in the morning. That really wasn’t acceptable as we were sweating in the room. The problem was the manager the next day was told about the complaint and failed to rectify the situation. Overall the hotel was clean and the day receptionist’s were great, the night staff and manager are lacking the professionalism I’m looking for.

I needed a place to stay in Vienna while waiting for a medical procedure. This hotel was moderately priced and close to public transport. Overall it met my requirements. It was clean and the bed was not bad. There was some traffic noise from the streetcars and the busy road, but I was on an upper floor, so noise was not bad. There is limited choice for restaurants in the area nearby.

Our allocated room on the corner suffered from light pollution and was a bit noisy, however the hotel offered an alternative room , for an extra 20 Euro per night, which was quite and spacious with underfloor heating and perfect for our needs. Breakfast was excellent. All staff were friendly , helpful and attentive.

Classier mid-range hotel handy for Gürtel bar zone

Needed an affordable, convenient lodging in this area, and found it in the Donauwalzer. Exterior, lobby and bar area, even old-school lift, echo Vienna's Habsburg heritage. Rooms, for the price, are fine, shower unit modern, in-room WiFi perfectly functional, no English-language channels on TV. Pricy snacks and drinks available from the minibar. Could have done with some kind of bedside table or somewhere to write at – perhaps not in the smaller single units. Check-in quick, staff superfriendly and efficient.

This hotel needs much updating. It is a bit farther from old town than we expected. Parking was excellent, secure and included. Wi-fi was very poor and spotty. TV's are old. There is potential here... but it is not anywhere close yet.

Everything about the hotel was quaint and nice. It was very clean and the staff was very gracious and helpful. I would recommend bringing earplugs, however. There is a discotek across the street and you could hear the music clearly most of the night.

The staff were great and very helpful, and the location was ideal for sightseeing as it is only a short distance from a metro line (and right next to a tram stop).

The hotel was great. We had two rooms at the hotel and they were both comfortable and spotless. The check in/out process was fast and convenient. The hotel staff was fantastic, very friendly, spoke English, very helpful and they even remembered how I like my tea. The hotel was conveniently located next to a tram stop and a metro stop. It would take us 5-10 minutes to get to the center of Vienna. The breakfast buffet was very nice and plentiful with lots of choices even champagne for breakfast. There was a nice refrigerator in the room. The internet worked great.

Things I didn't like were few: The hotel had safe boxes but in the lobby not in the individual rooms. There's no thermostat in the room and it took us a while to figure out how to adjust room temperature. There's no card entry to the room and you had to leave your key at the front desk. Soundproofing was poor, if you're a light sleeper this maybe a problem. The soap provided was body wash and shampoo/conditioner in one. If you're picky about your hair care, consider bringing your own shampoo. They did provide a hairdryer.

Overall it was a great trip and we loved this hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Very Comfortable Hotel

We only stayed one night but the location was really great. It was very easy to get around and we were reasonably close to the center. The price was outstanding and the staff was extremely friendly. I really like the laid back vibe of this place.

Good, fairly priced hotel with friendly staff. The neighborhood is a bit shady, surrounded by gentlemen's clubs, but it is walking distance to the university, and close to the tram line. A 30 min walk takes you to city center.

Good location for seeing the city

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel Donauwalzer and Vienna very much. With a good location (30 min by foot to main historical sites) this hotel is offering fair rooms and very friendly multinational staff.
Our room was small (5th floor) but clean and comfortable. There was no problem with A/C and WiFi. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Room was very clean. The toilet and shower were in separate rooms and each room was a little small. The floors were very creaky. Other than that, the room was very clean and the hotel facilities were very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

Good location, but they need to upgrade the beds!

We stayed here for three nights in a standard double. The hotel is situated right next to a tram stop and only a few minutes walk to a metro station so we found the location good for getting to all the main sights. Unfortunately, although the room was large and quite nicely decorated, the bed was very uncomfortable and the wooden headboard creaked loudly even with the smallest movements. Also, we were cold during the night on two separate days. We used the spare blankets but these were thin and there was no heater in the room. The toilet hadn't been cleaned well when we initially checked in, not nice. For the price, this place is okay but we are unlikely to return as sleep quality is important to us and we didn't get a good nights sleep here.

I really recommend your stay Hotel Donauwalzer

I went on holidays with family and friends, the first two nights the hotel room was bad as it was small and the beds were very uncomfortable as the hotel was fully booked. I asked to be move and the hotel staff were very kindly move all my belongings while we were sightseeing and gave me an amazing room with a lovely bed.

Everyone is so responsive and friendly and it is only 25 minutes walk from the city centre. Staff really know the area and can recommend you many places.

Great Hotel in a not so Great Location

This hotel is lovely. The staff members are warm and friendly. They all appeared to be pleased while working. The daily complimentary breakfast is delicious and has a much bigger selection than we expected. I was the happiest to taste really good filter coffee with breakfast and not one of those pre-made, powdered coffee machines. On Sundays, they have a great violinist who plays many of the classic, well-known songs.

The hotel itself is quite quiet. Guests seemed to be families and mostly middle-aged travelers. The noise we experienced in our room was from a bar across the street from our window. It is unfortunate for the hotel that a loud bar is so close to their guest's rooms.

The location is extremely close to the U6 line. Unfortunately for us, this proved to be an unhelpful line and we found ourselves transferring trains quite often. However, this is quite normal in Vienna. Even with transfers the total travel times to any major tourist attraction are minimal.

Nice hotel close to shops

The hotel was under construction during our stay. There was some noise during the day which was inconvenient since we were there with a baby who was trying to sleep. We would have also liked to have a bathtub to wash the baby, but instead, there was an updated modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. The shower was a bit annoying since water splashed all over the bathroom floor due to one side being open. We had to mop up water after showering. The room was spacious and probably will undergo a remodel too since it was decorated in an old style. I actually liked the large light fixture, armoire for a closet and a picture of emperor Franz Joseph on the wall. The bed was two singles pushed together which kept sliding apart, causing the remote control to the TV and our baby to fall in the cracks. A few more English TV channels would have been nice since we spent a lot of time in our room after I got food poisoning. The drinking glasses in our room were cleaned but never replaced, despite both being cracked. The hotel layout was strange too. The breakfast buffet was good, the cleaning staff nice, but the reception staff did not provide good information at all. They did not know what tourists could do with babies in the city, did not tell us that there was a side door to take out the stroller instead of carrying it up and down the stairs of the front entrance each time, and provided abrupt answers whenever we approached them. Other than that, the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Fun Theme Hotel in convenient but noisy location

Hotel is right at the ring, so traffic can be noisy. But when you close the windows it's very quiet. I booked it for the whirlpool which worked ok but had a whole bunch of buttons that didn't appear to do anything. Would be great if there were some instructions. I got late checkout at 2pm for an additional 15 Euros

I enjoyed a week long stay.

This hotel is easy to get to by tram which is just outside the door or train about two blocks away.
The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is excellent with fresh vegetables and many choices. On Sunday morning we were serenaded by two violins during breakfast, very enjoyable.
Our room was large by most standards. There was significant street noise from traffic and trains. You might choose a room off the street which is an upgrade.
The neighborhood is perhaps not the best.
