We really enjoyed our stay at hotel sakura nippori . Staff was really helpful and very kind. They were very attentive to our needs. The manager Daisuke Okubo and Fernando were excellent! Bathroom, toilets were spotless! The cafeteria food 5 stars. When we comeback to Tokyo we will definitely stay with them again

My only critique is that the washrooms were wide open. There should have been a door for the ladies washroom, or the entire floor should be for ladies only.

Room was clean, but was missing a table for a three person room. Was only cleaned once in the 11 days, but the staff was accommodating and provided us new sheets and blankets when asked. Staff was extremely friendly and even pointed us toward a sento that was tattoo friendly. Overall a great experience, but the room could have used one more cleaning and a table.

Nippori is a nice neighborhood to stay in. The staff were polite. The room was old and worn. There was a large group of school kids from Europe staying who were a bit loud and messy in the shared toilet and shower rooms. Wifi was OK but not great. One of the cheaper options in Tokyo that was available so can't complain too much.

Wasn't freaked out by the public bathrooms until they said there was only one women only shower room on the top floor. Men peeked their head in all the time and male cleaners would stop in to clean without notification. Having to leave your room in the middle of the night to go to the restroom as a young women was scarier than expected (though that is personal preference)! The rooms smelt bad after rain and had dust all over the only furniture in the room (a large empty wardrobe). Overall not a bad experience and the cafe and laundry were very convenient but not my favorite!

The room has no space for anything other than the beds and your luggage. Other than that, the property has everything one could ask for. They change the bedsheets everyday, the bathrooms are always clean and stocked up. Food at the venue is decent, and it's close to multiple metro and bus stops.

The hotel is OK for the price range, if you're only staying for a couple days in Tokyo.
Pros:
- It is located blocks away from Yanaka Ginza street, great traditional spot to go get some souvenirs, textiles and street food.
- 2 subway stations nearby at a walkable distance (5-10 min).
- The reservation includes daily simple breakfast (pretty much toasts, coffee and tea).
- While hotel has shared bathrooms, there are plenty of showers on each floor, so you don't have to worry about waiting.

Cons:
- The wifi service is poor and unstable, they have lots of connections, but none of them actually works, except the one on the café.
- When nobody is at the front desk, it can take a while for someone from the staff to come by.
- While staying, I needed to make an international phone call to contact my bank, and after explaining the situation to the guy at the front desk, he was rude and said he wouldn't let me use their phone as it would be too expensive, even though I told him I'd pay for the charges.

The staff and service was excellent but unfortunately the room itself was underwhelming. In the traditional Japanese room, there was no space except for the futons. The tatami mats were very uncomfortable and the closet was also very small, it was just cramped in general. The toast during the morning breakfast was delicious though.

The rooms are a fantastic size and over sized if you’re travelling solo like I was. The property is starting to look a little dated in many areas but not to say they are all dirty, they could use an update. The only issue I found was a small amount of mould growing on the door to the balcony.

Classic futons on floor for sleeping arrangements, rooms had air conditioning. Common bathrooms with plenty of showers, never had to wait. Eating area provided toast for breakfast and a dinner menu, but we were never around in evening so did not try restaurant. Very quiet area, easy walking distance to train station.

Nice place, inexpensive hotel in an otherwise pricey area. Gender neutral shower area, but there are several showers with private, lockable rooms (2x4 feet) just outside of the shower itself (shower door is also lockable). Showers were kept tidy, and full bottles of body soap and shampoo were available in each shower unit. Bathrooms were also shared but were gendered, and also kept tidy. Staff gave us options for western style (bed frames) versus traditional (futon on ground) but the \"western style\" just had the same futons but on the bed frames. Not a deal breaker for me but I could see a typical westerner being unhappy about it. Staff was very nice and friendly, and they held our luggage for us after check out since our flight was later in the day and we were able to explore. Tied to a 24 hour cafe downstairs and they have a coin laundry attached. There is a small playground (metal slide and 2 swings) right out front of the hotel/cafe doors.

We had a great time the night we stayed. The hotel clerk, Kenta, was friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to help us. Such a great guy!
We ate 3 meals in the hotel restaurant. Both meals that we paid for we're excellent and the kitchen staff did a great job! The complimentary breakfast was basic, but good! Hotel is located a short distance from the train station in a quiet little neighborhood. Loved the area too.

Un hotel/hostel hermoso. Lleno de buena energia y excelente atencion. Este hermoso hostel nos acogio despues que una guest house que tenia excelente reputacion fue una pesadilla por ser sucio y gente gritando hasta las 3 am. En cambio Sakura es un lugar tranquilo, juvenil, la gente es respetuosa y la ubicacion es muy conveniente, a 3 paradas de tren/subte. Realmente recomiendo!!!!!

We enjoyed meeting people from all over the world! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food in the 24 hour cafe was great and a good price. The laundry room was convenient and also open 24 hours. Detergent provided.
The elevator broke down on the last night of our stay and it was fixed by morning when we needed to take our luggage down.

I would definitely stay again and I’m planning to. Bargain stay in a very convenient and nice area. Slept on tatami mats, shared bathroom, laundry... so easy for a week with kids in Tokyo! Breakfast not worth it but lots of other places to eat. Not luxury but everything you need. Local area is perfect to experience traditional Tokyo. Easy day trip out to Disney and other areas. Playground for tiny kids across sweet little road. I loved this place.

We used Sakura Hotel as our home base while we explored Tokyo for 10 days! The cafe always had a friendly atmosphere and the staff were very kind and helpful. Whether we got back late or early, we could always mingle with other travelers in the cafe lounge and play games over some drinks. By far the best hotel choice when looking for a place to stay in Tokyo!

We stayed at the Sakura Hotel Nippori on our first night in Japan. It was easy to find, so closely located to the Nippori Station. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Having a cafe on-site and opened late (and early) was very convenient. The room and other amenities were clean. We would happily stay in this hotel again.

This is a hotel and hostel. Something not noted in the ad. You sleep on a tatami mat and a japanese pad on the floor. The womens showers are on the 5th floor, all other showers are mixed company (though there are secure individual showers). Not much for closet and luggage space in the room. There were three of us in our room and we had just enough space for the beds, shoes and luggage.

Conveniently located with a short walking distance to both JR Nippori Station and Sendagi subway station in a lovely local Japanese area, the area offers many options to authentic Japanese home made food and restaurants. The Japanese style futon was little bit thin if you are not used to this style of sleeping arrangement otherwise the hotel is extremely clean, staff are friendly and service is good. The staff make this Hotel an amazing experience but it is also very clean and the cafe is great too. It is also in a great location for shops and restaurants. My only mistake was to not realise it has no beds and you are on the floor on a traditional Japanese futon. I found this incredibly uncomfortable and couldn't sleep, even though I asked for more futons and extra pillows. Apart from that, my stay here was very enjoyable and I would recommend it, as long as you don't mind sleeping on the floor.
