This is not a 4 star hotel. Hotel room had dents on the wall, fridge was dirty, table desk has marks. Overall room felt like a 2 star hotel room.

But I had a steak for dinner and I could not eat it because i kept on chewing and the meat would not seperate very tough.
Send the whole steak back but they did ot give me a discount or some other meal. I only had a salad and dessert

Nice hotel, very modern and clean. The rooftop pool is small but nice, limited beds to relax on though. Beautiful views from the terrace. Limited room facilities, fridge but no mini bar (as advertised) and no safe. Comfy beds and good ahower. The hotel is ablut a 15 minute walk from the centre with a holl to climb up on the way back! Loved Girona

This is 2 star hotel with a 4.5 star price. The views are lovely and the rooms are clean with a comfortable bed. That is the best I can say. I am writing this review as a 4.5 star hotel and what I would expect. We had an inward looking room which looked onto the other wing to view concrete walls stained by water marks, absolutely awful. There were no drawers and a small wardrobe which contained 5 coat hangers, when we requested more they refused, when we asked for a better room the hotel reception staff( which were very rude) told us if we did not like the room then we could leave. We contacted Expedia ( who was very good) and informed them of our distress and got a refund for the remaining days. We went for breakfast the next morning which to be honest was like a 2 star unless you liked cake. Very limited choice of fruit , grape, melon and pineapple, the orange juice seemed watered down, the hot selection was scrambled egg, thin small sausage and inept half cooked cold bacon which was more fat than meat. There was no internet at the hotel because of security reasons whatever that meant. There is no safety deposit box also. We left soon after breakfast with no apologies at all from the staff, in fact it seemed like the opposite. This is not, and I repeat, not a 4.5 star hotel on many counts, there are 13 sun beds and the pool can fit 3 in, more like a plunge pool. There are much better hotels, be warned.

The property was okay, but when you stay in a 4 star hotel you kind of expect the room to be 4 star worthy. The bed was comfy. but other than that there was not good storage and the room had no character at all. It was literally white walls. There are so many other places to stay that have more character and charm. this was a last minute booking. I would not stay here again.

Wonderful property that's close to old town site seeing but not loud that can happen if you're in the middle of everything. Being on top of the hill has the advantage of best place to see the city below and sunset from the beautiful roof top terrace over the mountains on the other side of the city. The location also can make it a bit difficult to walk bach to hotel as other reviews have noted. It's not that bad and if needed you can stop to catch your breath on one of the walls. It is a very short walk to the shops and restaurants down in the old town area.
Everything was well cared for and clean. They have an online restaurant and bar so you don't need to head down again if you want to stay there in the evening. Area seems safe and is residential so no need to worry about being out late at night.
Highly recommend this modern friendly hotel!

Ok place, not convenient to town

Room was not ready until 4pm. I arrived at 3:15pm and had to wait. Front desk agent was not friendly. I had to pay for the stay on the spot when checking in!
Returned later that afternoon to get the room,
Hotel is far from the town, up hill and confusing narrow winding streets. Not recommended if you plan to walk to the main areas of the city. Of course if you have a car you can drive but there is no place to park in the historic area

This is an amazing hotel in one of the most beautiful Spanish cities. All you GoT fans will love seeing those familiar sites.
Staff are friendly and welcoming and the hotel is very nice and mid century style. Good food and drink with amazing terrace to enjoy the next view of the city.

Superb spot with best views of city

This is a fantastic hotel with a huge terrace that has the best view of the fantastic city of Girona. The food and beer are excellent as are the staff and the prices are very reasonable.
The parking is on site and the hotel is in a very safe area close to the old town with all of the game of thrones filming locations just a short walk away.

I truly loved the property and the open deck/pool area. The view was the best view in all of Girona, in my opinion. The staff was so nice. The one thing I will say: I wish you all had conditioner in the room already provided for. I had to ask for it at the front desk each time I needed it, and it was a bit of a hassle for me. Other than that, the stay was perfect. Bed was comfortable, the food was amazing, and everyone was excellent. Thank you for a great stay. :)

At the top of a hill so the view is great over Girona, 15 mins walk in to town, near the walls & cathedral.
Staff are excellent, friendly & obliging. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice…. Restaurant meal was superb.
Rooms were immaculately cleaned daily, only criticism was there is no room safe. Small pool on the veranda but adequate to cool off on a hot day sunbathing. Overall we had a great stay & the hotel is a perfect base to discover Girona

A good property with free parking. Not far from the city center (15 min walk). The breakfast is not so good overall but tolerable. It doesn’t cost 16 euro though.
There is no blanket and no teapot in the room; the shower is rather basic. It is, really, a 3-star hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Very warm welcome by young lady on reception. Room spacious and clean. Lovely lounge area and terrace with great views. Has a lovely bar and eating area. Well stocked snack bar.
About 10/15 mins walk into town. But of an uphill walk back but nothing too strenuous and there is always the option of a taxi. If you want the view then you need to be uphill!
Walls a bit on thin side but overall a lovely hotel with great staff.

This hotel has a gorgeous view over Girona. We had cocktails on the rooftop and watched the sunset one night. It was unforgettable! In addition, the breakfast is simply amazing. The homemade pastries are exceptional. I would return just to have the breakfast! Parking is very easy and convenient.

We've stayed in Girona many times, but this was a first at this hotel, which was lovely. First class facilities, friendly and helpful staff and the added bonus of stunning views over the city. A hill to climb to get there, but no great problem. We also had dinner one night- a set menu for 25 euros, but excellent value for money. Would highly recommend this hotel for a quiet stay only ten minutes outside the beautiful old town and Barri Vell.

Definitely not s 4.5-star hotel

The staff was nice, the parking was free and the mattress was pretty firm. That’s about it as for this hotel’s advantages. This place is very very old and very very run down. All this would be tolerable, but they have paper thin walls, which made it impossible to sleep: whoever sneezes, you hear it; whoever walks, you hear it. There was a woman on high heels who started walking around at 6am and all me and my husband could do was to wait for her to stop or to leave. Also, the bathtub was unsuccessfully converted into something like a shower cabin leaking out of every hole because they forgot to put caulking. To be honest, this hotel is as far from 4.5 stars as I am from being the queen if England.

Fabulous quality hotel ideally positioned.

The hotel was better than we had expected, over looking a small beach, and with a large picturesque pool area with plenty of shade from the olive trees, plenty of sun beds and they served excellent food freshly prepared on the pool terrace. Super hotel with views of city from the terrace. Rooms would benefit from some tlc, ours had peeling wallpaper so as things stand I would rate as a 4* Plus. However, having stayed in many 5* hotels in the past I was not dissapointed with my choice.

Great place with wonderful views of Girona city. I read some really bad reviews about this property and prepared it to be not so 5-star-ish! But, to our surprise, the property and room are clean. Bed was nice with comfortable pillows. Stayed for 1 night and it was a great stay. Would return again! We stayed at room 101. Only negative was that toilet flush was slow. Well, staff at the reception could be little more customer friendly but they were not bad!

It’s all about the views

Fabulous location with stunning views accross the city to the mountains. Very clean, breakfast lovely with great coffee. Staff very friendly. Good size room with very nice bathroom. The hotel is situated up a hill which is fine but if you did need to get a taxi from city centre it’s only approx 4 Euros. Girona itself is a beautiful city. We loved it.

This is a very nice hotel and good value for money but definitely is not a 5 star hotel in terms of facilities and comfort. The breakfast buffet was quite average and the swimming pool was little more than a large bathtub! On the other hand the outside terrace at the front of the hotel was just a great place for sunning oneself in the early evening. Anyone who stays here should be aware that Girona is very hilly and bring their walking shoes.

Our room was enormous, and very comfortable. The hotel is clean. There is a big outside patio with a nice view of Girona. Wish we could have used it more but it was too cold while we were there. Maybe a couple of firepits or heaters would have been nice. Service was excellent. Check in was fast and easy. Parking was close and readily available. We used the small, but convenient fitness room. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends. Especially since it was such a great deal.

Hotel is uphill from the centre of Girona and takes about 10 minutes. Reception leads onto a large outdoor terrace with fabulous views over the city and mountains. We were upgraded to a king suite which was appreciated. Good sized room with separate sitting area. The bed was huge and comfortable. Bathroom good with both bath and shower. The mini fridge was free -soft drinks,water, crisps and biscuits. Breakfast was adequate. I would definitely stay in this hotel again if visiting Girona. The taxi fare varied between 7-10 euros each way.

The view and parking

For a visitor I get the impression that Girona is not that car friendly consequently I chose a hotel with parking.
15 minutes walk from hotel to the centre of Girona and whilst the hotel is on a hill the walk is relatively easy (Google the route ).

This is nicely located, close to the old town (though up a steep hill) and yet absolutely quiet. Free parking is a plus.

Reception staff very helpful. Breakfast staff under-trained, however. (Hard to get sufficient cutlery!) Too interested in how I was going to pay.

Free toiletries on request is good, but beware the disposable razors. They're lethal!

OK hotel close to oldtown (10minutes walk)

This hotel is in a very good location to the centre with plenty of free parking spaces. Price very reasonable. Hotel has good views especially in the terrace. However, our room was facing the courtyard but we really didn’t mind.


The facilities were OK but not great. The bed is comfy but is very creaky! The bathroom in our room feels a bit tired- skirtboard all around needed some refurbishment as well as the tiles. There was also a CD player/radio in the room which was outdated.There was no kettle, or coffee/tea making facilities in our room( €3 per cup at the bar). Both times we ordered coffee, these were lukewarm. Ordered a pizza from 24h room service-pizza arrived undercooked and cold (€10). We also paid for a brownie that never came.


Service was OK. Receptionists were fine but did not really offer much engagement i.e didn’t ask how our stay was when checking out. A few times staff were also on their phone appearing to finish a quick text before attending to the guests. However, staff did provide hot wAter on request but only if you attend the bar yourself-no room service as I presume because it’s free.

Overall, this hotel offered a nice comfortable stay for us. We were out most of the time but did look forward to coming back to our spacious hotel room after a long day. Would recommend this hotel specially because of parking and spacious rooms. However, there is some room for improvement with staff’s customer service skills.

The hotel was fine but not spectacular for the price we paid. I would have expected more. I booked a double bed and they gave us a room with three single beds and said there were no double beds available which isn’t ideal.

The hotel itself, the rooms & outside seating area were very good although the pool was smaller than we thought from photos seen.
Staff at Reception were 5*, also the cleaning staff. However the bar staff were noticeable by their absence and, when an order was taken, it seemed to take forever for it to be delivered.
One day we had lunch inside in the Breakfast Room & although 3 waiters/bar staff were around, we had to top up our wine glasses ourselves and ask for more water. Not what you expect in a 5* hotel.
On the positive side, we had dinner one evening on the balcony downstairs and that was first class, both food & service.

Decent hotel not 5 Star

This is a decent hotel with decent staff but should not claim to be a 5 Star. The breakfast spread is like any 3 star hotel and they would not budge and even make an egg white omelette for someone with dietary restrictions. Doesn’t sound much like a 5 Star

Girona is such a beautiful town and this hotel was a great stop off point. The beds were comfortable although I’m not a fan of the “French” style of beds though where it is two twins put together. And the shower was a fine line between scalding and cold. I wish the pool was open later in that by the time we got back from touring and dinner it was closed. It would have been awesome to enjoy that view from that pool. But overall it was a great stay.

Oasis in a stunning city

Great location (which is more than accessible unless you are infirm) that was peaceful and tranquil. Amazing terrace with tiny but refreshing pool. Rooms pleasant and nicely appointed with bizarrely constructed bathroom. We would definitely stay here again..

Clean, modern hotel — but a bit out of the way

The only knock against this uber modern glass box is the location. After enjoying the hilly narrow streets of Girona, walking along the river, visiting the cathedral, you must either trudge uphill to the hotel or take a cab. If that doesn't bother you, its a winner.

Located on the edge of the old town.

Food and service were excellent. View from the Hotel particularly at night was impresive. Location adjacent to the city walls was convent however finding the hotel even without a GPS can be a challenge. Takes a strong walker to get to the Cathedral and old town and a climb to reach the Hotel.

Booked for a revisit

We came back to this hotel 10 years after first staying there. There are some natural signs of wear and tear but we would and probably will return. The rooms are comfortable with a decent sized bathroom. It was just a little too early in the season to go into the small pool. It is an easy ten minutes walk into the heart of Girona but perhaps 15 minutes on the return due to the gradient. You get great views though.

Good size clean bedrooms with lots of thoughtful accessories in bathroom. Very helpful and friendly staff. Fantastic views of Girona and the surrounding mountains.The only thing we found was that the bedroom was too hot and we had to leave the window open whenever we were in it especially during the night. A tilt system on it would be useful. Music in the morning outside on the terrace was a little loud as the hotel is in such a peaceful setting. Would definitely stay here again.

Definitely lives up to name, Bellavista

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The views are indeed spectacular. The only small thing to say against it is that it is slightly understaffed. The bar and waiting staff, although all friendly and charming, had to run between the bar on the main floor and the restaurant on the lower floor. Difficult for them , but also meant a wait to be served.

Great place to stay if visiting Girona

Stayed Three nights. Excellent hotel overlooking Girona. A ten minute downhill walk to the Old Town. It's a bit longer coming back up the hill. An outside terrace gives excellent views of the town and surrounding mountains. A perfect place for drinks and breakfast in the warm sunny months.
Hotel was clean modern and comfortable. The staff were friendly and vey helpful especially the bar and restaurant staff.
There was plenty of parking, the buffet breakfast comprehensive and the restaurant excellent especially the veal fillet which was outstanding

Modern smart hotel in Girona

This modern striking hotel is situated above old town Girona with glorious views of the town and countryside around. Plenty of parking. It has a fantastic terrace that takes full advantage of its position and a great place to enjoy a glass of wine after a day in the old town. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout. The hotel is clean, modern; rooms are spacious and we particularly liked the glass/plexiglass wall murals of Girona that separate bedroom from bathroom- nice touch. wi-fi was excellent throughout and free. People have said its a climb to the hotel but really its no drama. There are many routes to the old town, about 10 mins walk away, that involve little \"climbing\". Prices for our stay were excellent too. If I go back to Girona I will stay at this hotel again

Having 5 star facilities does not guarantee 5 star quality.... lovely views of city , but overall would only match a 3 star chain of hotels.. albeit spacious rooms.

The most spacious room I've stay in Europe.

Very spacious room, great service, good location and free parking. Those are the things that I like about this hotel, among some other things are the very comfortable bed and shower.
The staff was friendly. Over all great value. I will most definitely return to this hotel.

Great views and perfect location.

Modern hotel with great views of the city. Very friendly staff. 10 min walk into town, up a small hill on the way back but nothing to difficult. Room a little rough around the edges but for what we paid it was value for money.

Industrial look. Little charm. \"Bellavista\" is only from public spaces. Rooms have no views. Small space with few convenient touches. Must drive or take cabs into city unless you are very fit. Wonderful staff and breakfast.

Nice hotel - close to town

Pleased with the hotel overall... nice and modern and spacious rooms.
We were on the ground floor however, a bit overlooked by the car park when getting ready, and the rooms weren’t really very well sound proofed.
The terrace however was fantastic to sit at for a few hours, and the walk to and from town was pleasant!
Great value for an October stay - would definitely return.

Weekend Break in Girona

The AC Hotel Palau de Bellavista is a good standard hotel near the centre of Girona. First impressions when we arrived is that the outside of the hotel could do with some attention. It's starting to look a bit worn around the edges. The AC Palau is a city hotel so the rooms have no balconies or terraces, but there is a very nice large public terrace with fabulous views of Girona. Only one moan here. We asked for a parasol as it was hot and sunny and there was only one on the entire terrace. They had none available so we couldn't sit out for long. The rooms are not huge, but the bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom is a good size. The rooms are well decorated and modern with good amenities. Could have done with a few more electrical sockets though. The reception area is attractive and so is the bar and breakfast area. The staff are friendly and helpful. One thing to be aware of: the hotel is on a hill high above the city (hence the great view), which means the 15 minute walk back from the old town is a bit of a climb. We didn't mind it, but others may struggle. There are always taxis though. Overall a good stay. And Girona old town is awe-inspiringly stunning!
