We had a plumbing issue in our room as soon as we arrived, but the staff handled it exceptionally well. They immediately moved us to another room without any hassle, trusted what we told them, and made us feel genuinely valued as guests. That level of customer service was incredibly refreshing and set the tone for a fantastic stay.

From that point on, every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and welcoming. The property itself is beautifully maintained and clearly cared for. The location is perfect, close enough to enjoy everything the downtown area has to offer, yet far enough away to feel private, peaceful, and secluded.

We couldn’t have been happier with our experience. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay, and we will absolutely be returning in the future!

The property is lovely and the staff makes you feel welcome and. pampered, especially compared to the many keyless/staff-less hotels. The pool area is so wonderful -- with soft music playing and lots of chairs and umbrellas. It was Coachella weekend, but the guests were respectful and quiet. The restaurants next door, especially Birra are wonderful places to eat or have delivery.

The rooms were the issue for me. The beds were super comfy. However, I ended up switching rooms. After the first night, the AC wasn't working that well and by the next morning, the room had a smell to it. I let the front desk know, and they promptly moved me to a different room that we nice and a bit more spacious, without the smell.

However, there was more street noise at night. In fact, noise was in an overall issue in that room. Between the street noise, the noisy AC and a whining intermittent noise in the pipes, it was hard to sleep. Next time, I'll bring ear plugs.

Advice to travellers - ask for a room away from the street, but bring earplugs. My feedback to the hotel, spend some time in each room, and fix the little things that could make this a 5 star review.

Cute hotel and staff at check in the evening was very pleasant. Our room had a plumbing system oder. The carpeting was dirty enough to ruin my socks! Obviously this took away from what could be a lovely stay.

Really wanted the hotel to be more as the landscaping and public area is nice. Wish that the staff at check out showed some concern or even appreciation for our stay. Not even a thank you for staying. We had not complained about the issues and with that sad check out I needed to vent to management. We felt like we should have been taken care of better. And the fire alarms went off several times during the night. Sad

Check in/out super easy. Got an early check-in, which was great. Rooms are large, and the pool is great. Only reason for 4 stars was our first room’s AC felt more like a swamp cooler. Front desk was SUPER responsive and offered us another room 2 doors down, which was a bit of a hassle . New room was great though. Would definitely stay there again.

We chose to stay here because of the high rating, Rooms were small old and very basic. Beds were extremely soft, like 1970's blown out spring mattress soft. And it was quite noisy, proximity to shops and restaurants was good. Quality of Motel was not worth what we paid to stay there. If you are already planning on spending 350 to stay downtown you might as well add a $100 a night and go stay at the Thompson or Kimpton. That is what we will be doing next time.

Very disappointed that coffee is not available in the rooms nor in reception area until 7:30AM. We had to walk to a coffee shop daily for coffee. We also had inadequate body wash and lotion daily, they need to leave enough for two people!

It’s clean, plain, friendly and cute. Staff is nice and dining options are walkable. It’s also the loudest hotel I’ve ever tried to sleep in.

I have a “Mountain View” room. It’s really a view of Indian Canyon Dr and you’ll be hearing traffic and motorcycles the whole night.

When you ask for a different room they will just sort give you this pitiful look like “you’re an idiot for booking that room, dummy” and not offer any help. You’ll see that all of the rooms on this side of the hotel are empty.

Stay away from this place. It might be called a boutique hotel but all that means is that they have a horrible location and they are just trying to get by renting rooms to idiots like me that didn’t check that it is on a major street. Pretty much the ‘greater fool’ theory.

I’m the fool this time. Well played Alcazar, well played. .

The manager of the hotel is very friendly and had tons of recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. They have a cute little area off of check in where you can get coffee and pastries in the morning. They also have snacks and beverages that you can purchase. They have two restaurants on the property which is really convenient. They have Cheeky’s which is a breakfast and lunch spot and they have Birbas which serves dinner and is Italian food - pizza, pasta etc. We stayed in a pool side room with a king bed. The room was white, and very clean. The bed was pretty comfortable. My only complaint is that we were there when it was 113 degrees outside and our room only had a wall unit AC. Our room could not get cool so it was difficult to fall asleep. I would recommend Turing the AC on much sooner than guests arrive so that it is comfortable. Also, the restroom did not get any of the AC so it was warm and stuffy in there. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of a black washcloth that said “make up” on it so I didn’t ruin any white linens. The towels were nice and fluffy. The pool was just a few steps from our room and was really nice. I would stay here again when the weather is a little more palatable - fall, winter, or spring. It is a very cute place. Parking was really easy as well.

We were excited for our stay and some zen at the hotel with it being a small/quaint property. But the location of our room and the age of the room weren’t adequate for a $360/night cost. The bathroom door did not close and the AC did not work.

After emailing 2 and not hearing back so we could request a ground floor room since my wife is 7 months pregnant They even put us on the second floor right overtop of the restaurant where the room smelled like a deep fryer and it was loud and a party until 1am.

Proximity to downtown was about 10 min walk, which was nice. But not worth the cost of the room.

I stayed from a Sunday- Thursday, so I intentionally missed the weekend scene. The accommodations are small and no frills, but I found it to be clean, safe, quiet and friendly. The staff was helpful and there is a good selection of beverages to have poolside. My objective was rest, sunshine and a few good meals so I was more than satisfied. Alcazar is at the north end of the main Palm Springs strip. It’s an easy walk.

Property is beautiful, but rooms are just solid white with no art, decoration or a chair to relax. Bathroom had mildew stains along shower edge and water stains on wall. When we told the front desk the light outside our room wasn’t working, she actually told us maintenance wasn’t available and we should change the bulb ourselves!! Outrageous! This could be a 4-5 star hotel, but changes definitely need to made. It’s in a great location, has a beautiful, relaxing pool area amid lush landscaping and is within walking distance to all downtown shops & restaurants. Wish we had a better experience.

This was a nice property but very difficult to find. It is really on a side street and not on Palm Canyon Drive. The room was very clean and a nice size; comfortable bed; private patio; convenient to shopping & eating and can walk. This was a very old property that had been upgraded and redone. It just had the feel of an older property that I didn't quite like. Very good location.

I have stayed at this property before and love the room I had which was upstairs with a view. This room had no view and the back patio was facing the back of a restaurant that had loud compressors or air conditioning units that was so annoying. The room was quite small as well. If you think you’re going to get a quiet getaway, this is not the place for that. But first let me say this place is beautiful, but if it’s busy relaxing by the pool isn’t going to happen. It is nice that the pool is open 8-12am though, just no glass bottles by the pool. They offer towels though which is great but if this place is packed unfortunately so is the pool. Get there first thing and don’t leave your spot! The rooms are nice, but I hate the shower. I hate that it doesn’t close all the way and that the floor gets wet. It’s close to Cheeky’s which is perfect and it’s close to Bills pizza too. Overall, decent stay, pretty, but pool is too crowded.

Great little spanish style hotel in the perfect location. Walk to downtown. Attached to two great restaurants. one of the best breakfast places in Palm Springs, Cheeky's and Birba, Italian place outdoors under trees. We never left teh compound. This is my favorite small PS Hotel, an historic old bungalow style, nicely updated. It has a lovely adult vibe, is very clean, and the staff is very friendly. Walkable to all of downtown with 2 fine restaurants semi-attached. I've yet to use the bikes, maybe next time.

The staff at Alcazar are above and beyond friendly. This is a nice, small, quiet hotel.
I am not sure how they could do this but asking people if they have kids under a certain age and having their system placed them in the rooms on the first floor versus people with kids on the second floor would be helpful to those staying on ground level.
Other than that I will definitely go back the location is good right on interstate 111. Thank you to the staff for a great weekend getaway.

This hotel is only recently re-opened so I don’t want to be overly critical. Front desk staff are very nice but I wasn’t given much information about the hotel. The mattress was comfortable, but the room was basic and a little dated. Everything was very clean. Our room was next to a somewhat loud road...not terrible, but annoying.

Not the experience we hoped for

We have stayed at Alcazar several times, and were excited to go back for a quiet and relaxing getaway during these COVID times. However, as clean as the hotel was, the pool was at capacity starting Friday afternoon and the rest of the weekend it was packed. I thought for sure that the hotel wouldn’t be at capacity right now with everything going on in order to keep its guests safe, however, that was not the case. The small pool and pool area were packed with people who were not following social distancing guidelines. It had a party atmosphere which is not what we’ve experienced here in the past. Not sure this is the safest of hotels to try and plan a getaway during COVID.

Everything about Alcazar Palm Springs was delightful! It is very spa-like, quiet, relaxing, and beautiful. The bed, linens and pillows were soft and comfortable. The room was pristine. The grounds are lush and tropical. And there are two fantastic restaurants on the premises: Cheeky's for breakfast and lunch and Birba for dinner or a late night drink by the firepit. This is one of my top 3 best hotels ever!

The property operates with a minimum of fuss. Easy check in, no one to help with bags, get your own coffee, etc. But
it is well located, has comfortable rooms and a great pool
which is heated in the cooler months. Only complaint is that
the rooms that are on the adjacent road get noise well into
the night. Otherwise a very comfortable place to stay.

We choose this hotel as a group to celebrate our friends 60th birthdays. It’s convenient and an easy walk to several great places to eat and shop.
Initially, they couldn’t find our Expedia reservation and then told us that they didn’t have a room that we requested (poolside king). It was 6:30pm. They said they had a room with 2 queen beds, or we could upgrade to a I bdrm suite.
We weren’t told it was a comped upgrade, however it was. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The air conditioning worked well to keep the rooms cool as it was 112-115° during our stay.
The staff are quiet and helpful, the property is quaintly appointed, but modern. The landscaping is lush and spotless!
It’s like you’re in old Palm Springs, but updated beautifully!! We’d go again!!

I was unsure if I would enjoy my stay. I was here for a conference and normally stay in another hotel when I come. This hotel is so cute. My plane was delayed and they checked in me and had everything ready for me upon arrival. Great location and in walking distance of Downtown Palm Springs. The room was amazing. Everything is white so don't be a slob. Spacious closet. Loved the robes. Didn't get to make it to the pool but I liked that it stayed open until midnight. You could get complimentary croissants, tea and coffee every morning. Front desk staff were very friendly. Very quaint and intimate. I definitely will stay here again when I am in Palm Springs.

Intimate, friendly and well priced

Friendly staff, well situated to uptown galleries and restaurants, comfortable & quiet. Fresh croissants, juice and coffee a bonus while waiting for breakfast at adjoining and very popular Cheeky's Restaurant. Would definitely stay again.

Just OK

Beautiful hotel in great location. Couldn't block out bright lights with shutters. No cream for coffee, just milk. Reception attendant told my wife she couldn't sit in coffee area while waiting 10 mins for coffee service. Rude, poor customer service for $300 per night.

Pros: Staff friendly, location great, fireplace in room a nice touch.
Cons: No coffee maker in room, and service desk not open until 7.30am. I thought having a gratuity envelope in room was pretty tacky.
Also, our room was on first floor next to Birba/Cheeky’s and had CONSTANT traffic of workers back and forth outside of our room which made using our private outdoor patio kind of useless due to lack of privacy.
