-very clean,
-great view from the balcony
-easy check in and out

Cons:
-the bed was pretty uncomfortable and squeaky
-Squeaky floors
-the bathroom had a sewer stench
-very tiny bathroom, and the shower barely fits a regular person ( for relevancy I’m 1.7m and 60kg and it was tight )
-the building has no elevator, and they put us on the third floor. No help from the hotel staff and the stairs are circular, almost impossible to carry a suitcase.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. The check-in and check-out experience was smooth. We had nice rooms. Mine was on the top floor, but the floor was creaky. I'm not sure if my neighbors besides and below me heard it, but I tried not too make too much noise. The amenities in the room were great, except that you should not flush paper through the toilet. The hotel has a nice charm to it. There were some old collectibles and a nice old map of Romania on the top floor. The hotel does not have an elevator. The breakfast is good, with also an option of ordering eggs. The hotel has few parking spaces, which is not enough for all guests. There is a chance you will have to park down in the streets below. The hotel has a very nice terrace with view over Brasov (including the famous Brasov letters on the mountain), and you can walk quickly to the Brasov main square. The hotel is nicely located. I had a good experience at this hotel.

Location was very good about a 10 minute walk to centre of old town. Room 12 was very spacious with a nice balcony. Bed was comfortable and made for a peaceful sleep. Parking available on site.

Very good hotel, service is excellent. Room was spacious and bright. The outdoor are has a wonderful garden and great views. It is however on a fairly steep hill - without a car it may be best to take a taxi up. There is no lift. If your room is on the third floor you'll have to climb about 60 steps. If you're up to it, it's worth it. I loved my stay there.

Very nice Pension, within walking distance of the Black Church and Main Square. Heating/AC was not working, but the staff fixed it promptly. There is no elevator, to the higher floors, so if you have heavy luggage beware.

Views and great location!

Great hotel with lovely views. Room was large with a balcony. Bathtub even had jets!
Easy walk into the heart of the Brasov with lots of restaurants and sights. Very friendly staff! I plan to go back and use this as a base to explore more of Transylvania.

Great hotel in Brasov

Clean, comfortable. Great location, 10 minute walk to center of Old Town. Fabulous staff. Took an all day tour, and airport transportation with Ionut/John. Great english, nice, honest, responsible guy. Breakfast was wonderful, made to order + buffet. If we ever go to Brasov again, we will definitely stay at Casa Cranta, no question.

We loved this quaint hotel. It was set up on a hill and had a beautiful view of Tampa Mountain. It was so enjoyable to eat breakfast outside on the terrace with this scenery. The staff was always attentive and friendly. The hotel does not have an elevator, but I thought this added to their charm. We only had less than a 10 minute walk to pedestrian area of Brasov. Would highly recommend this hotel if you enjoy quaint properties. Only suggestion - bring own alarm clock because you are not be able to receive a wake-up call.

Excellent hotel with lovely staff. Our apartment was spacious with lovely mountain views, had large dining room and spacious bedroom. Balcony was lovely to sit on at night and had nice views of the mountain. Decorated with nice wooden furniture appropriate to the hotel. Room had jacuzzi and air con which helped as during our stay it was very hot. Has nice garden with table to eat, drink and relax outside. The food on the two nights we eat in the hotel was very nice. The hotel is also near to the town centre (5 min walk) but is off any main roads, so quiet at night. Car park small but staff helped park on road outside on one night we could not park in the hotel car park.

Dirty hotel!

Most probably last renovation was made 40 years ago. Its very very dirty, the furniture its....no comment!
Maybe they have one room renovated and using Photos like standard for all hotel.....Its a hotel for 2 stars, max 3 stars somewhere in 1980. Its a shame, as the area and villa its perfect to made the best hotel in Brasov.

Nice hotel with wonderful views

Lovely clean nice hotel. pleasent staff. Stayed in a triple room with balcony with wonderful views of the old town and hill.
Took up the offer of seeing castle bran, the Roman fort and Peles palace which was very reasonably priced.

will defiantly stay there again.

The hotel is a charming example of Romanian architecture with a real old feel to it. Silence and calmness is guaranteed as is a good nightssleep as the sound does not come through the walls or door. The room and bathroom are very clean and you get a complimentary apple and two bottles of water. The furniture in the room gives it an old world feel and the breakfast in the morning is excellent buffet style including cornflakes, youghurts, cheeses and bread, olives and you can even order eggs. The downside is that the hotel was difficult to locate at night and you have to go through a no entry sign and then go sharply uphill to gain access easily.

Beautiful rooms, great location, nice staff! The room had hardwood floors, beautiful wooden beams, beautiful windows. Just a gorgeous, comfortable room. Great service from front desk and housekeeping. Best hotel ever! Within walking distance from Brasov town center. 35 minute walk to the train station.

Atmospheric hotel, just slightly out of main tourist area. Not suitable for anyone with a disability as up a steep stretch of hill and no lift inside. Good views from our 3rd floor room but aircon not working and was not fixed the whole of our four day stay. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was buffet style. We are not early risers and on a couple of mornings the selection was a bit sparse. Eggs available if requested. We were offered organised \"private\" transport to different attractions but were able to negociate with a local taxi driver for a quarter of what was quoted by the hotel.

We stayed in the Luxury Apartment and it was wonderful! Views from the balcony were fantastic. The antique furnishings and huge living/dining room made it very luxurious and memorable. Truly one of my favorite places that I have ever stayed!! The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They can help you set up tours and transportation in the area. The hotel is an easy walk to downtown Brasov, lots of great bars and restaurants in addition to the tourist sites. Loved our stay, wish we could have stayed longer!!

An excellent choice

My husband and I had booked the basic room at casa cranta and we were very impressed with how spacious it was. We loved the little extra touches i.e. Shoe cleaning kit and bathrobes/slippers along with the fruit and water provided daily. The breakfast choice was sufficient, however, we enjoyed the hot breakfast made to order. We were particularly impressed by how helpful the staff were booking our transfers and providing a tour guide service. we have never travelled to Brasov before but I can honestly say it was a fantastic holiday. If you want something a bit different, a place of historical interest and with lots to do at reasonable prices then Brasov could be for you. Our favourite bits were the bear watching experience, a tour of the castles and one evening at Oktoberfest 😃

The staff at the hotel are all wonderful, very accommodating, polite and helpful.

if I am allowed to name a member of staff than I will name the hotel manager - Sandu - who was friendly, helpful and recommended many sights and tours for me. He was excellent and so polite.

The hotel, itself, is very pleasant and clean and location was excellent - a few minutes walk to the Centre of Brasov.

Wonderful Rustic Transylvania Hotel

This hotel was the perfect place to stay while in Brasov if you are looking for rustic, homey, relaxing feel to your hotel. Its quiet and walking distance (10 min) to the main square. Although its an up-hill walk back from town. The staff were friendly and all spoke English. They were very helpful. Especially Alex. We also booked 3 different day excursions directly from the hotel. And our driver (Sandu) was excellent and flexible. The hotel provides a wonderful breakfast (including fresh eggs to order). Dinner is also available at the hotel offering a nice selection of food choices. The chef was excellent. Its not fancy but I if I ever went back to Brasov, this is where I would stay.

Charming guesthouse in marvelous city.

Excellent Parking in front of the entrance.Staff helped with luggage.Brasov is an amazing location in central Transylvania that has not yet been discovered by tourist industry.

A wonderful hotel. 5 stars

This hotel overlooked the city. Just up the hill was the citadel, and a 5 minute walk to centru. The black church is there. We had a belcony and had tea out in the sun looking at the city in the evening. A beautiful breakfast is included. The staff was so helpful and friendly. This is a treasure. If you need more space, we got the apartment so our daughter could be with us. Loved the jet tub after many hours exploring. This is a 5 star hotel. No lift, but the wonderful boys took the luggage up for us. Everything was perfect.

Our party of 8 stayed at this extremely comfortable, clean & welcoming hotel during our 4 night stay in the beautiful city of Brasov.
We all thoroughly enjoyed staying at Casa Cranta, it was absolutely perfect for our holiday & certainly helped to make our visit to Brasov a truly memorable experience.
Despite the extremely cold weather conditions the hotel was constantly warm & cosy. The staff were always polite & very helpful & our rooms were all very comfortable & unique. The position of the hotel is perfect for exploring the old city - with only a short walk down into the town we could choose from several really good (& very reasonable) restaurants. As the hotel is located on the hillside opposite Mount Tampa the views, especially in the snow, were fabulous. Breakfasts were good.

Amazing hotel for an amazing price

We only stayed one night wanting to visit a bit of Dracula's Transylvania, and the whole time we couldn't help but feel lucky for having found such an amazing deal.

It's close enough to the city center, but we could have just as easily stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the nice terrace with its amazing view as well as the beautiful, comfortable rooms. And all for a great price.

Charming hotel on the hills overlooking Brasov

Casa Cranta is perched on the hill with stunning views from its terraces but it's still centrally located and just a short walk down the hill to good restaurants and the center of town. The interior is fun and eclectic with a comfortable room. Breakfast is good, especially when you can take it outside on the terrace. The best thing about the hotel is its staff who are very welcoming and willing to go the extra steps to make your stay special.

Staff extremely helpful and friendly!

The staff were very friendly and always helpful. They went out of their way to assist us, especially on our final day when we decided to travel to Bran Castle; they helped us arrange for taxis for our group of 8 and even helped us negotiate a cheaper fare. This required multiple phone calls and logistics planning. Excellent service!

Perfect balance in Brasov

Casa Cranta is perfect for a stay in Brasov. It's near the centre of town but far enough away for peace and quiet! The rooms are really nice, breakfast is good and the staff are great! Ask them for recommendations for restaurants! I would recommend Casa Cranta to anyone.

It is nothing like the pictures in the hotel presentation. My room was small and all the furniture that seems nice in the photos are in fact old and chep. In the night we got some rain so in the morning we were invited to eat inside because they didnt want to wipe dry the tables and chairs on the terrace... So it s expensive for what it offers.

Like this Hotel - it is more boutique rather than a faceless chain. However only has baths and could do with updating to showers and need to sort out the Orange Juice in the morning. Currently it is the reformulated powder of the 1970's!! Surely to have proper orange juice cannot be that difficult

Casa Cantra is delightful Boutique hotel in Brasov Romania. The hotel is located very close to the city center. The room was beautiful, extremely clean, very comfortable, and great WiFi. The staff was very accommodating and friendly.

Nice Hotel close to the Central Square

The hotel stands tall overlooking the old town in the city of Brasov. The staff is super-friendly and very accomodating. After checking out, they agreed to keep our luggage in their lobby and even provided us with umbrellas as it rained all the time when we were in Brasov. All in all a wonderful, memorable experience.
