The pictures in my opinion on the booking sites are nothing like what we were given. The room was dirty - cleaners only empty bins and wash out drinking cups with water, there is no deep clean even when we requested this twice - bedding was not changed.

The food was really nice

Staff are polite but it’s ashame the guests aren’t - no please and thank yous and they seem to walk into you!

A 3 night stay All Inclusive to visit some of Malta’s famous history.
Overall the Qawra Palace is superb base, though it’s a big hotel which takes some navigating at first. I also must say it’s very busy, especially in the restaurant - we visited in Feb so I can only imagine what it is like peak season. The rooms are clean but I’m glad we upgraded to a sea view. The food is varied, good quality & plentiful. If you are staying in the cooler months, the sun shines a lot longer on floor 11, where you’ll find the rooftop pool.

Given the first floor with THE tiniest balcony . I paid for a sea view but was looking into a pizza restaurant . The shower was clogged ( told them twice). Was asked to upgrade to all inclusive. Wish I hadn’t bothered. The food was bland and the Charlie’s bar smelt like a toilet. The swimming pool was a no go area “ due to the storms”. It was 8 days after and they had no damage.

The staff were not nice, there was no water in the room despite booking an all inclusive, not even complimentary water, the food was just the same, no variety. We booked their Asian restaurant and there was no special fried rice, no prawns, just one basic white rice. It was awful. staff was very unfriendly and biased, our flight was in the afternoon, Check out is 11am, which is ok, I don’t mind but what I mind is the fact that after checking out, you are not able to have lunch before leaving, despite booking an all inclusive. They insisted on cutting your wrist bands off with a scissors. To be honest, I have travelled a lot and this has never happened to me. I was surprised, they wanted me to pay €35 to have their miserable lunch. I was really pissed. We went there as group and they ruined our trip with their unprofessional attitude and non-flexibility whatsoever. Very poor customer service.

Food was okay but for an all inclusive package if you checked out before 11 you had to pay for coffee!! Despite having an all inclusive package. Was a first for us. Also food quality in general was lacking for a 4 star. Fruits were all canned or preserved (if not the quality was terrible). Options limited. Staff were great though, very accommodating. Still its a 3.5 star hotel rather than a 4 star.

First off...the location is good with wonderful views if you get an ocean view suite. If you get an inside room, especially on a lower floor...forget privacy.

Our major problem is the rooms are WAY overpriced. We had a 10th floor suite, and within 1 day, had to move out because of sewer gas smells in the room were so strong we couldn't sleep there (Room 1052 - avoid at all costs!). Then we moved to room 469 for a night so they could attempt to fix the other room. We were told they fixed the smell issue in 1052, but since we moved out, we couldn't return because that was an upgrade! After arguing forever, we were told we could move back to 1052. They fixed nothing! They deodorized the shower and luckily we were departing early the next day because the next morning the sewer smell was getting stronger! Anyways, they also need to change up the breakfast buffet....almost always the same bland foods. We make multiple trips to Malta each year...we will avoid this hotel from now on and make sure our friends know of the issues also.

Hotel says it’s four star I would say it’s more like two / three had breakfast one day and didn’t go again thought it was average and very very best hotel rooms are very basic. Nothing like a four star.
sadly don’t have a great deal.of good things to say about the hotel. Pool areas were nice I tried to go in with my brother to have a drink. They wouldn’t serve him said he had to pay €60 to be able to have a drink in the hotel pool which I think outrageous. finish I’ll trip off on the last day cold water stopped working at the toilet stopped working too.I wouldn’t stay there again very disappointed

My stay at Qawra Palace Resort & Spa was nothing short of awful. Some staff were pleasant enough, but many acted like they couldn’t care less. The lifts took forever because the hotel is so overcrowded, and when they finally came you’d hear the bell echo through the halls – my room was near the lifts and I could hear every single person passing by. The rooms are absolutely not soundproof.

The rooftop bar served me one of the worst mojitos I’ve ever tasted – completely undrinkable – and I didn’t bother buying another drink for the rest of my stay. Breakfast on the first morning was so bad that I decided to pay extra and eat out elsewhere.

Despite booking a double, I was given a twin room, and the beds were rock hard and uncomfortable. The rooms themselves are shabby and tatty, with a door that would only lock if you slammed it. Housekeeping ignored “do not disturb” signs, walked into my friend’s room while they were in the shower, and woke me up at 7:30am just to knock again minutes later about an ironing board I didn’t even have.

One night, a party took over the venue and the chaos continued back in the rooms until 4am, with music and shouting carrying through the walls. For what’s meant to be a “spa hotel,” the toiletries were pathetic – just a cheap shower gel and soap. To top it all off, the Wi-Fi was useless and barely worked.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I certainly won’t be returning.

Hotel represented good value for money and was in a location that made trips out in a taxi to see the sights low cost. Hotel was clean and the buffet in the self serve was of a good standard. Roof top pool and space were good to hang out during the day. The hotel feels like it has been added onto over the years and certain parts, while clean, need modernising. Air con in the room made our clothes damp and the courtyard outlook wasnt great. For the price paid it met with what I was expecting.

Great variety of food, great upstairs pool area, good that you can visit a la carte restaurants for free during all inclusive stay. South American restaurant was particularly good. Easy transport links if relying on buses/taxi (reccomend bolt).

Bed however wasn’t the most comfortable, rooms had nice air con/facilities. Was welcomed with some fizz and plate of snacks for our anniversary which was nice.

Plenty of sun loungers available each time we went to the pool often later on too and nice frontage to the rock beach. Standard all inclusive drinks, unfortunately on a mixer dispenser platform for cocktails but they were drinkable, good beer, wines also nice. Would stay here again if we went back to malta.

We had a really good stay at the Qawra. We’d been to Malta before and we preferred the buffet option this time compared to last time. We liked that the hotel provided an option to dine at a more fancier location on site. Hotel room was always clean and air con was working perfectly! Plenty of room to sunbathe and we enjoyed access to the sea from the hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

In terms of room for improvement, the hotel feels really dated on the insight. I think they are going through a renovation but it needs a lot of work to reflect its 4* rating.

Considering our stay was during a very hot period, the general areas of the hotel were incredibly hot such as the lifts, the lobbies and in the corridors. It would benefit from having air con. So at times it was quite uncomfortable when going down to dinner etc.

I checked into my first room: The toilet flush didn't stop. The bed linen, pillows and duvets has an awful smell- almost like someone has urinated on them. Room service came immediately but the guy was very dismissive and said he couldn't smell anything: not a surprise as he was appropriately dressed in uniform and more like a painter. People walking around topless: I mentioned this to reception staff and they said there is a sign but they didn't have the courage to tell the customers not to walk around like that at reception. Also, there was a noise issue: the sea view portion of the hotel is nice, but the main central bit is like a run down council estate.

Place was nice, rooms were good, plenty of sunbeds, we weren’t all inclusive, only breakfast which was ok and not really crowded even at busy periods, but not as good choice as some other similar all inclusive places I’ve stayed. Howe ver the beach was closed as there was a sewage overrun into it, which you could smell from the sunbeds, not really a problem for us as we just walked up the coast to go swimming but not great if you wanted a dip in the seanext to the sunbeds, the rooftop bar would have been ok. Not sure of this was a one off but they seemed quite prepared for it and obviously have no control over it happening as it’s outside their hotel, it’s just the overflow pipe is in the hotel bathing area.

The property was spread over many floors , the lift system was not easy to navigate as not all the lifts took you to all the places.
Was surprised that we couldn't take food or drink out of the main restaurant considering we was all inclusive.

I really liked the main reception and the general communal areas were all well laid out. Food and drink were pretty good as well and there was a lot of choice. Staff were all friendly. The hotel itself was amazing. Should definitely be rated 5* instead of 4*. The chicken is halal at the resturant even though was told meat and poultry wasnt when i emailed the hotel before booking. This should be communicated more with staff. The food itself was great and accomodating as they has pizza chips and different types of pastas everyday. They have a section for kids too. Location is a luttle away from centre of malta but i knew this before booking. Pool and surrounding areas are cleaned and immaculate. Its great that they have a heated pool inside as weather was a little chilly for the pool outside. Views from rooftop bar is amazing. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend if you want to be away from the hustle and buslte.

The hotel is huge, despite it looking older than its rivals, the internal decoration was good and was very clean. The rooms were large and we had a seaview. I can find little fault with our stay here. We visited in February and despite some building work going on (which was well advertised) there is plenty to see and do. The evening entertainment was very good. The food choices were fantastic (something for everyone) with of course unlimited drinks in the food restaurants and bars if you are doing AI. The roof top pool has spectacular views and is definitely worth a visit, even if you don't want to dip your toes in the cooler water found in Feb. The indoor pool in the sub-basement is really catered for the spa customers even though it is open to everyone. Based on the 'open to everyone' the changing areas need to be much larger in regards to actual undressing etc and the Sauna and Steam room do need to be larger, but i can appreciate that in peak season these areas would be rarely used. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and what i would say, is those people that moan about this and that, are talking rubbish. Where else can you get a room, all inclusive food and drink for approx £60 a night !! I would not hesitate to book this hotel again. The staff work extremely hard to try and make everyones visit the best that they can.

Overall comfortable. However the facilities in the shower did not seem correct. The shower head looked like it was broken and I could not adjust the aim of the water, it was just like a hose on the wall.
The air con wasn’t working, only blowing hot air even after trying to reset to cold and turn the temperature down.
WiFi was not good, the connection only worked at reception or on the balcony and the speed wasn’t good.

The fact there was not water fountain on each floor to avoid having to go to a different level to get water was unnecessary.

But considering the little time spent using the facilities it was comfortable for a short stay.

I really liked our stay in Qawra Palace Resort. We stayed there for 3 nights. The room was huge. Breakfast options were great. We didn't have a chance to use their outdoor/indoor pool or the gym as we were outside all day long and the facilities close earlier around 7pm. The location is also good, good bus service to Valetta and other places.

I had high hopes for this hotel. It was nice, but was definitely didn't hit my expectations. There were areas that were beautiful & well kept, but there were areas that were broken down. I'll just make a list of pro's & cons.

PRO'S:
The beds were perfectly comfortable
Rooms were clean
Food at the buffet's were good
The rooftop pool was beautiful
All inclusive drinks were good.

CONS:
The toilet in our room was broken the whole time & never got fixed.
The shower was very small.
The beachside pool was a bit broken down & parts were closed off & the pools were freezing cold.
There were different restaurants besides the main buffet for the all inclusive, but only one that was not a buffet. It would be nice to have more à la carte options.
The staff were a little put off by having to handle customers. Not really rude, but just annoyed.

Relaxing

I had a lovely relaxing weekend , even though my room was near the main rd it was very quiet . The staff were so lovely and it was all spotlessly clean .
