DB San Antonio Hotel is a lovely place to stay. The room was very clean, which reflects the great effort of the cleaning staff. They were hardworking, dedicated, friendly, always smiling, and happy to help. Overall, most of the staff were very professional, helpful, and demonstrated excellent customer service skills.

The dining experience was also very good, with a wide variety of food to choose from. The kitchen and dining staff—especially Nicolle, Dipendra, Puja, Pakka SH’s team, including Nirmala, Babar, and Sadar—were exceptional. They were professional, consistently offered help with a smile, and truly went above and beyond. They are highly recommended staff members.

The reason I gave an overall rating of 4 stars is that there is always room for improvement. One such improvement would be upgrading the televisions in the rooms to smart TVs. The current televisions are outdated, which limits guests’ viewing options. Also the towels and robes are small. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

This review is just for the hotel. DB San Antonio Hotel is a lovely place to stay. The room was very clean, which reflects the great effort of the cleaning staff. Spacious clean rooms. Sea view room was lovely. Had view of the pools and ocean. All staff were friendly and helpful. Choice of restaurants, although main buffett was definitely the best. Very disappointed with the Mexican - couldnt eat the food - sorry to say it was awful. Chinese was nice, Indian ok. Main buffett had a huge selection and for such a large area to cater for was really nice. Adults infinity pool was great

Nice hotel tradition style rather than modern. Not sure All inclusive plus was worth it or not. Breakfast in morning in plus lounge was lukewarm unless you were there as soon as opened as there wasn’t the turn over of food need to put less out at a time and replace more often. Also only did the cheap sliced bread not the nice unsliced proper bread that was in the main restaurant. Also it was not clear enough that the lounge and outside area was for gold band guests only. A lot of other guests were there sometimes the staff asked them to leave others (Ernie?) didn’t. Did have excellent service from Parkash & Puskar.

Would not recommend this hotel for families.

Firstly when we arrived, checked in and our room key wouldn't work. The start of the downward trend. Went back to reception and they said they reset the keys. But this didn't work. I returned to reception. They got another member of staff to reprogram the key cards. And.... Low and behold they still didn't work. We're travelling with our 18month old baby and this was 12am at night, as our flight was delayed by 2hrs. Yet they didnt once see an urgency to get us sorted, there was an air of arrogance about this place. Finally they came up to the room with a master key and let us in. But that there would be no key card until maintenance are back in the building in the morning. So someone has to stay in the room to get back in.

The next morning after breakfast we returned to reception, as instructed, only to have to explain the whole of ordeal once again, to staff who knew nothing about it and were not left instructions by night staff as to the issues.

So we had to go through something similar again with keys until eventually Maintenance came to fix the lock.

Unfortunately this was temporary as the next day upon returning from a day trip we couldn't access our room again. It's laughable really. Not once did we get an apology. We met a number of other families with similar issues so it wasn't just us.

The food was very lacking unfortunately. It looks amazing online. In reality it wasn't very fresh. Breakfast in particular.

We stayed April 6th through 19th. For an all inclusive resort it’s a fail. I understand a deposit for pool towels and robes, but a five euro charge for cleaning the robes? Though there are water dispensers available you must bring your own containers. No soda or juice for you in room refrigerator, if you want the available you must pay a 24.95 euro per person per day for an upgrade. Most just go to the store in neighborhood. We had a studio room, 731. Noisy due to working on street ( street side room) installing underground pipes or wire. Asked if there was other room available on other side of resort away from noise, was told to check next morning. Check three times same answer. Baby next door would wake up crying around two am for an hour. Wife couldn’t rest during the day as baby would cry again. She call front desk and was told there was no child nearby until a supervisor came to check and realize there was a child in next room and was crying because being in a different environment. On Friday another manager, a tall woman whose name I believe begins with a E, offered to move us and offer complementary sodas because staff never addressed our problems and she would speak with staff. We did get a room change, room 132, but no sodas. With the inattentive staff and charges for sodas and robe cleaning I would not be staying at any related resorts affiliated with this brand.

The saving grace to this property is that the rooms were very quiet. We are a couple and had 2 single beds pushed together, each with its own set of single bed sheets and blankets. The food at the buffet was mediocre. The coffee was great. All the common areas were so busy and extremely noisy. The lobby, bars, coffee shop, buffet restaurant, elevators, pool, gym (which is also open to the public). For us it was too busy of a hotel to want to spend any time there.

Staff friendly and generally helpful. Rooms very hot, air-con not switched on as winter season despite 24 deg temperatures. Made sleeping a little uncomfortable. Food good and always well cooked. Good variety if a little repetitive. Salia restaurant very good. Pool area clean and well looked after, plenty of sun beds. Area around hotel a little run down and lots of road/ building work, but no noise heard within the hotel. Bus station a few mins walk so easy to get around the island. Cocktails in kosy bar seemed watered down and tasteless, but were much better in cafe maroc. Lifts to dining room out of order for 3 of the 5 days we were there, didnt affect us as we used the stairs , but less mobile had a circuitous route!

Staff the friendlies ive had in all the years ive been going to Malta.
Maybe the staff on the outside bar could smile a bit 😄but it didnt bother us .First class from the reception staff especially Hicham, that sorted out a little problem straight away. Lovely man. Hotel was absolutely spotless, and considering how full the hotel was hats off to each and every one .Room was cleaned every day with again lovely staff .Hopefully it wont be our last stay at the brilliant hotel ,even though we are both in our seventies now .

There were some setback we experienced during our check-in and at the spa. I’m glad though for the management's prompt attention to the matter, particularly in arranging and moving us in a better room. It may not be the best in our opinion but we were fine with it. We appreciate their courtesy in resolving the issue.

As for the VIP benefit, we actually wouldn’t get the upgrade and the wine if we didn’t asked and had the problem about the room they gave us. We didn’t get any access either nor was informed about their VIP lounge. But it’s okay, not a big deal.
Overall, we enjoyed the location, service, and the warm hospitality of most of the staff. Ms . Lucie at the front desk in particular, is to be commended for her friendliness and work ethic. We appreciate Ms. Hail as well for her professionalism and for reaching out before we left the hotel.

While the hotel building may benefit from renovations, its price and amenities offer excellent value, making it a recommendable choice. We're looking forward to our next visit to Malta. It was a good and memorable vacation.

We have just returned home after another stay at DB San Antonio, Malta.

We wanted to thank all the staff for making it a fabulous stay again (this was our 8th visit).

Everything was perfect including the cleanliness of the room; the huge selection of fresh food was amazing; the entertainment in the Kosy bar; the reception team; all staff are so helpful.

We would like to specifically thank Shaira on Reception. We were greeted with a big smile from her when we checked in. We were amazed that she remembered us from previous visits. She is always happy and smiling. Any enquiries we had she dealt with promptly and nothing is too much trouble for her. All the staff are a great asset but Shaira stood out. She's a Star.
We look forward to returning again soon.

I don’t often write reviews however my fiance and I had a very underwhelming experience. This resort markets like it’s on the ocean when it’s not, there are additional costs on many items even with all inclusive. No drinks in the rooms. Not accommodating with shuttles and limited to no entertainment facilities. Also, I understand it was late November however we assumed the pool bar would still be open during the day. Unfortunately this was the worst all inclusive experience we’ve had.

The staff at the front desk were welcoming when we arrived.
The rooms were what you would expect and clean and tidy. Our toilet was a bit weird as it was in a small space with the wall just over an arms length in front of us.
The adult only pool (with an infinity edge) was wonderful, if slightly shallow. At the top of the building no music, a lovely place to relax and recharge.
The main pool with the animation team had deeper parts (and shallower) but was noisy and busy.
The food I would say disappointed. They made omelette, but not to order - for instance. It felt very samey , and the local snack/food/pastry were underwhelming.
The book able dining options felt very similar (sushi was different, but still a buffet).
The location is great , near the beach, the bus terminal - great transport links - and local shops (we even went to a famous fast food chain to get some ice cream.
Would I go again? Not sure it was lovely and I felt rested when I returned to work. Thing is I’ve been to much better all inclusive hotels, consequently I think I’d rather not have the all inclusive option and go out to eat in this location.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The premises were spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My room was comfortable, providing a great place to relax after a long day. The hotel's location made access and parking a breeze, which was a huge plus. This is a fabulous property that caters for everyone from adults to children. The adult only pool and roof top bar are a godsend and great. Staff were amazing and helpful. The food and dining restaurants were second to none. If I had to be critical the pool bar toilets need more regular cleaning and could do with a spruce up. Also toilet roll in the women’s toilets seemed to run out regularly. But amazing place and will defo be coming again.

Air conditioning, or particularly the lack of it, in the room and no improvement or feedback after our request for maintenance would be the primary gripe. Tried to read in bed and the \"eco\" turned the light out because there was no movement. All electric cuts off, including the limp ceiling fan, which gave us an uncomfortable airless room to sleep in.
We liked the full sized fridge in the room, though it didnt fit well in the cupboard that it was kept in. We liked that we could refill our water bottles from a fountain by the lift as the room water is not drinkable.
The view was initially disappointing but after getting used to it the cranes, cars and buses added another level of entertainment to the few passing boats.
The spa was very well priced for a hotel but the experience was \"average\" at best and rushed at the end. We were expected to relax in a through corridor and despite our couples massage room having showers we would not have had time to use them before they were knocking the door for us to leave. They ask lots of medical stuff and then dont read the form. My wife didnt get attention to the areas of her back she wanted and the male masseur totally ignored my warning that my toenail had ingrown.
The Restaurant offered a very good selection of food, though ice creams outside of the restaurant were charged. The Swimming Pools were ok, not very deep The outdoor jacuzzi (16 only) had most jets working. For smokers, note that the pool area is No smoking.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious with a beautiful view of the pool area from the balcony. Beds were comfortable and the wardrobe space was practical. There is an ironing room which you need a card from reception to access.

The Kozy bar has a great selection of cocktails and drinks.With great entertainment at 2100 everynight including acrobats, dancers, a karaoke night and much more. Very family friendly. They have kids entertainment from 2000 before the main show.

The food was great at breakfast. The lunch and dinner options were average. There are plenty of restaurants by the sealine - just a 6minute walk away.

They have a wonderful steam room and sauna. Plus indoor pool and plenty of outdoor pools and sunbeds. The Pearl spa is execellent but the treatment there comes at an extra charge. Definetly worth it. 10/10 recommend the Pearl Spa.

There are amenities closeby including ATMs, Wellbees grocery store, a pharmacy and plenty more. The bus station is a 4minute walk from the hotel. Travel pass is only 6euros or you can get a single ticket for 2.50 euros. Great travel links to Valetta,Silema, The Malta International Airport and other cities. This hotel stay was great.

Short stay vacation at the db San Antonio hotel. Made welcome right from the start. Despite flight delays we were guided to a small room with good selection of cold food and drinks - this was 3am.

Hotel food was amazing - from the buffet which was always varied to the select dining restaurants. The food was always hot and fresh and plentiful.

Rooms airy, clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was perfect and beds comfy.

A few pools to choose from, so whilst the hotel was very busy as you would expect in August, it didn't feel crowded. Yes people do reserve sunbeds - in 30 years of holidaying I've never been to one that doesn't experience this issue. But there was no towel rush and no problems to find somewhere to sit. It became a bit busier at the weekends due to the daypasses for locals. But again this is normal practice for Maltese all inclusive.

The locality is fab. Just a short stroll to the sea for an evening stroll, and again very quick to the centre of town. The bus station is literally up the road, so no queueing at bus stops in the heat needed.

This will definitely be our first choice of all inclusive when we come to Malta next time.

What a lovely hotel. The speciality restaurants are great, so be sure to use those as the standard restaurant gets boring. Plenty of sunbeds, although pools are a bit small for the size of the hotel. The cafe Maroc is fantastic for coffee lovers. The gym is good with plenty of equipment. The surrounding area ia worth visiting, with the aquarium at a 10 min walk and loads of activities on the beach front.

We had a lovely 10 days here. The adult only roof top pool is fabulous and a great place to get away from the business of downstairs. The main pool got very busy and crowded, but was still enjoyable.
All the staff are really friendly and helpful. There was plenty of food choice for our vegetarian daughter and there was plenty of variety at each meal time. Yushan and Tagine restaurants were lovely.. the other 2 we could take or leave. Unfortunately we couldn’t try the rooftop bbq restaurant as we had our 12 year old and it’s over 16s only.
Valletta and Mdina definitely worth a visit and east on the bus which is 5 min walk from the hotel.
We had a sea view family suite which was lovely- 2 bathrooms was an unexpected bonus. Had our eldest been with us I don’t think the sofa bed for teen & pre-teen would have been big enough. It was pretty short (but our kids are tall).

Just got back from a week at the DB San Antonio. The reception area is beautiful and the staff are great and really helpful.
Our room was fine - perfectly adequate - and the ceiling fans were a godsend!
The food was of a fairly good standard, especially considering the number of people they had to cater for!
And that was my biggest issue-the sheer number of people. The sun beds around the main pool downstairs were so tightly packed in - and there were literally hundreds of people. There was nothing relaxing about being downstairs at all! That’s also how I felt in the main dining room - too many people and not somewhere you wanted to have a leisurely lunch or dinner. It was literally eat and go! If you are going to this hotel, make sure you use up all of your visits to the other restaurants, as they make a nice change from the canteen downstairs.
The biggest plus point about this hotel, is the rooftop pool and bar, which is for adults only. It really saved the holiday for me! There is an infinity pool, with views out to sea, which is beautiful. There are loungers surrounding the pool and we always managed to find enough for our party of 6. The rooftop bar has stunning views, comfy outdoor sofas and sail-type shades. It’s like another world up therr, so chilled and classy. The bar staff up there are brilliant and work so hard and are there from opening to closing!
I had a lovely week away, thanks to the fab weather and the rooftop bar, but I wouldn’t rebook this hotel!

We really enjoyed our week here. The food was excellent, especially in their themed restaurants including Asian, Indian and bbq. The pools were always clean and tidy and the staff were very professional- we enjoyed the evening entertainment too which was very well put together with musical theatre level shows. Haven’t really hit a bad word to say - overall excellent!

Great variety of restaurants (must pre-book).
Adults only pool and bar on the rooftop is a great touch.
Staff are very friendly and the hotel is very clean.

The most convenient and cost effective way to get around Malta is through 'Bolt' - use the app and book the taxis whenever you need. They are instant and cheap!

The only small issue was slight frustration with the hotel lifts - they operate on a unique system that causes long wait times.

Otherwise, an amazing hotel in a great location! We will definitely be returning.

Good Points

Food was very good, considering how many people they have to cater for at each meal. With a few exceptions the food was always hot.

The themed restaurants, Salia (European), the Yushan (Chinese / Asian) and the Tangine (Moroccan / Indian) were all very good. These need to be booked in advance. Easy to do but do early as the best times get taken quickly. The Taza sky bar served a BBQ (needs booking). I would not bother. The Taza's food is cooked in the main restaurant and delivered to the roof. Kept warm with small heaters, our food was cold. The other themed restaurants are good, but avoid the Taza BBQ.

The rooftop bar (Taza sky bar floor 10) is good for an after dinner drink. The views are fantastic and it has a relaxed ambience, good for meeting new people and having a chat.

Hotel is very handy for the bus station, which serves most of the places you might want to visit

Even though there was a lot of towels \"reserving\" sunbeds, in June we never had a problem getting a couple of sunbeds together.

Bad Points

Travelled as a couple but we both thought that there was not much entertainment for kids.

Sometimes getting a table in the main restaurant was a problem, there simply weren't enough staff cleaning and setting tables. Also as other guests have mentioned the tables are very close together, can resemble a works canteen, but better this than having nowhere to sit down.

We booked this hotel for our 25th wedding anniversary holiday, and shortly after booking were offered the chance to upgrade to All-Inclusive Plus. On balance it looked like a reasonable deal, and so we did. Best decision ever!
When we checked in we were met by Sofia the manager, and he gave us a personal tour of the key areas of the hotel, including the exclusive lounge - which was superb.
Our room was a suite with a sea view, and it was really spacious and comfortable - plenty of room for four if required. The other hotel facilities were good, with a really good gym and spa. The roof sun deck was lovely, with the infinity pool really refreshing. The various restaurants available to us were excellent, particularly the Italian, and it all worked very well.
The highlight, however, was the All-Inclusive Plus lounge. We were royally looked after by Ranjib, and what he didn't know about cocktails wasn't worth knowing! When he wasn't around Jinin was, and he too was excellent. The range of food and drinks was extensive, and the service second to none.
Bizarrely not many people had signed up for the AI+, but if you're wavering we would thoroughly recommend it, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
As a way of celebrating our special anniversary, we couldn't have done any better.

Initial room had an issue which we had to be very firm over the fact that it was unacceptable in order for it to be rectified. Restaurants were a let down as the website lists a whole host of restaurants which were never open.

Bars were good but definitely watered down!

Charge for let checkout was €10/hr but they tried to charge €15 when we went to pay and could only tell us the morning of, if it was available - disappointing!

Gold membership not recognised at all. In fact I asked about late checkout they said ask morning if last day. I checked the afternoon before and was told they don’t know availability until the morning and it would be 10 Eur per hour. I queried the gold membership and they checked with their manager and suddenly their was no availability! So went from not knowing until tomorrow, to no availability!
I also asked on 2 separate occasions about hair conditioner, the reception desk said they would provide some in the room and I never got it.
Place needs a bit of updating. Animation team and restaurant staff were excellent.

A lovely clean hotel. Great facilities. Wish there was a bit more entertainment for kids e.g a park our outdoor kids club. The evening shows however were outstanding!! Food was very tasty, sometimes all inclusive can become repetitive but plenty of Choice and variety! All staff were incredibly friendly. Would return again and recommend.
