Location is good. About 10-15 minutes walking to old town. The place however is a bit creepy, odd decoration (shabby vintage and trying-to be quirky), but also a little dusty. Our room was number 6, which was spacious and (except for first night) quiet, but the cave like decor, especially the shower were creepy. Unfortunately the room also smelled a bit of sewage which improved later.
The female staff were all very nice and helpful, the older guys at night grumpy and not very helpful (“sort it yourself kind of attitude”).

Situated by the canal, 10 mins from ferry terminal and 15 mins drive from airport. Slightly outside of the central area but easily reached by Uber or walking. Hotel was clean and staff were really helpful. Hotel could do with some updating. Breakfast could have had more options but was very adequate for the cost. Met standards of 3 star. The hotel location was great for me because it was in a quiet area outside of the main hustle and bustle, but still very walkable to many restaurants. The historic center and most attractions were about a twenty minute walk. As for the property itself, I paid over $800 for three nights. After staying there, I’d say that price is about double what it should be. My room was fairly basic so maybe that’s why, but there were zero amenities in the room. No coffee, no kettle, no air con (and it was 90 F degrees out), not even water. The shower was tiny and only put out scalding hot (i mean really burning to the point of being intolerable) water and they attempted to fix it but never really did. The last day there was a sewage smell in the bathroom so i covered vents up w towels and didn’t bother to say anything bc at that point I was leaving. Staff is friendly enough and breakfast was basic but good.

Short break in Vienna. Hotel is only 20 minute walk from St Stephen’s in the Innere Stadt so pretty central and very near The Prater. Pleasant breakfast and a great room. Staff very helpful. Only criticism is there is no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

Easy to find, this colorful hotel offers unique room designs and a beautiful staircase. The feeling is very homey and breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious. A Great Budget Option for a Solo Traveler
This felt like the ideal place to stay for a solo traveler who wanted something better than a hostel, but also didn't want to pay high Vienna prices. The room was tiny (but I was expecting that as I booked a single) but clean. The location is phenomenal - near multiple points of transit. The staff were helpful (very important considering the stress of the pandemic). Also, the decor was fun and quirky, which I loved, and the WiFi was great. Would definitely stay here again!

Booked this hotel based on the unique themes rooms that they showed on the website and it did not disappoint when we reached the hotel. The hotel itself was old which made it more endearing as it was not just some same old corporate hotel. The room we stayed in was very big, lots of storage and most of all character. The best thing about this hotel was that it was conveniently close by to a couple restaurants and markets. It was also only a short walk to a tram stop and metro/train station.
When you leave your room, you have to leave your key with the front desk. This was somewhat typical on my trip through Europe, but I found it frustrating here because there wasn’t always someone at the desk when I wanted to get back into my room.

Quirky little hotel. Rooms are fun with plenty of personality. this unfortunately is where the personality ends. The staff are RUDE, not just continental directness but RUDE! With exception to the night receptionist who checked us in every other member of staff that we encountered was rude and unhelpful.

It’s the opposite side of the city from where all the major tourist attractions are (Imperial palace, museum quarter etc). The shower was open and water went everywhere. There was no bin in the room. They informed me that they did not have an iron for me to use in my room and I would have to pay €4-5 euro to use the machine press to iron a shirt. It is an overall ok hotel but for the price they charge I would expect it to be a little better.

In addition, the staff are friendly and helpful. However, the bathroom is very small and there is no shower curtain on the shower, resulting in everything getting wet! Furthermore, the towels were changed everyday, which is not very good for the environment.

The Hotel is conveniently located, close to Wien Mitte, where we got the train from and to the airport, plus it is close to the tube line and the tram station, so travelling was never a problem. The area is quiet but it is also just one tube stop away from Stephensdom, which is a living area. The Hotel interior is not modern style, somehow pompous, with very colored wall paper and opulent furniture but it is surely original, quiet and clean. Our room was big and comfortable. Breakfast was fine, had almost everything from a continental one. They did not have lactose free milk but when I asked they got for me, very kind. There is still room for improvement but minor things, they have on their way. I did not see a communal area to sit and chat or a cafe' inside but we didn't needed, we have preferred to have something quiet and practical. We would consider to stay there again.

We got a room with a bad smell, the water stream was very weak, breakfast was ridiculous with almost nothing to eat, the room looks nothing like the pictures show. Also the bed had broken springs, no garbage can in the sleeping room and no mirror. We were aware that it is a 3 star hotel, but this is not even a 3 star level. Only positive thing is that the hotel is pretty close to the city center.

The overall impression is one of unfriendliness! Nothing was really bad about the hotel itself other than the carpet was extremely dirty! They forgot my wake up call! I stayed 4 days there. When I went have a glass of water as part of the welcoming drinks that they offer you.... this was in the second day..... I was told by the man at the front desk that I could drink the tap water in the room!!! What kind of customer service do útil call that! I was reminded twice in a matter of two minutes that my television was too loud! Yet they didn’t call that night and waited til the next day...... yet they literally chased me down the stairs to tell me this as I was leaving for the day. I had already been told to seconds before by someone else at the front desk. The staff was borderline rude they were so robotic... never smiled ... with the exception of one lady who was warm professional and hospitable! She lent me a pair of sissies to use and was very gracious! The rest need to be trained and question their happiness at their jobs! I did bring all this up to someone when I checked out..... the standard I wasn’t aware of this answer! Well I told him now he was!!! For the money there are plenty of hotels that have happier atmosphere and give you a great breakfast something this hotel wants to charge you 10 euro extra! No reason to reccomend this place ! Take your money and go somewhere theycwelcone you! In the evenings the front desk turned into a make shift bar for their friends !???

Great place to stay if you don't need interaction
The first night my mother and I arrive we were welcomed by a very helpful man who even switched our rooms due to the strong smoke smell. However the next two days we were greeted with cold unfriendly staff who even just stared at us and made us feel like foreigners when we asked for help. The actual hotel itself is nice but some of the staff need to be more open to their guests even if the guests do not look or talk like they do.

Like most hotels, the Urania has a range of rooms to suit all budgets. Unlike most hotels however, each has been decorated differently, ranging from the relatively plain, to the outrageously over-the-top (see the \"cave\" room for instance).

Terrible. We paid for a \"superior\" room with breakfast included. When we checked in we were put in a sparsely decorated \"theme room\" (Japan)...the cheapest option. We asked to be changed. We were then put in another dull theme room (Africa). We again asked to be put in the type of room we booked. Instead, we got a \"design\" room that smelled awful and looked nothing like the photos you see here. Despite all of this, the hotel appeared to be nearly empty. Why not honor our true booking? To top it off, when we went down for breakfast in the morning the staff tried to charge us again! We were told we hadn't paid with our booking. It seems like they had every aspect of our booking wrong, or they were deliberately scamming us. Awful experience all around. Would never go back.

If the weather had been kinder my stay would have been much more pleasant, but it was incredibly hot. Too hot with windows closed and too noisy with them open. Nice big room but sparsely furnished. Lovely window boxes. No fridge or kettle. Breakfast was okay, plentiful and good choices. Reception very nice and helpful.

We stayed late April 2011 and we weren't expecting much from this hotel for the price and it is a little out of town - but only really 15 minutes walk (or 10mins walk from the central train station) as Vienna is such a compact city. Place was clean in quite. Nice big rooms with styling that was close to over the top - but in an endearing kind of way.
We got their early afternoon and asked to change rooms right away as the wireless didn't work in our room. It looked like it was going to be a problem but we got to move to a different room where it worked well.
Breakfast was a surprisingly wide range of cold meats, cheeses assorted veg a little fruit - plenty of choices of breads cereals and even frankfurters - with no problem about helping your self to 3 or four plate fulls (or more!) - very satisfying.
We did here from one of our taxi drivers (its just under 10 euro from central) that the hotel was usually booked \"by the hour\" and we had a good laugh with him - although we couldn't see any evidence of this anywhere including breakfast where people were seeming small groups (3-4 people) of tourists or couples.
