Needed Updates. The staff was great. The food & wait staff were awesome. However, we wish the room was as great as the rest of our experience. In the building where we checked in & stayed on the 2nd floor was in dire need of updates. We had a non working lamp, our bathroom was so small and needed help with paint, plumbing and overall face-lift. Our room only had housekeeping 1x in 4 days. We had no elevator to the 2nd floor. It wouldn't be a problem except the step are quite high, not good for the knees. The best part of our stay was renting a golf cart and driving around the course which had spectacular views.

Enjoyed my stay. They let us use the facilities before check in. Nice golf course. We stayed in the older part of the hotel. If that matters to you check what you book beforehand. That area is not handicapped accessible.

Tried to check in at 4pm, Issues with check in due to weather issues the day prior, but this was told this, just room was not ready. Waited till 5:20 for room/keys, went to room and it was still being cleaned. Waited another 20 minutes. Dot 2 drink tickets for the wait. Had the worst 2 beds I have ever seen/tried to sleep on in over 30 years of traveling the US. Dips in mattresses were horrendous. Not able to change rooms as \"no other rooms available\", supposedly, we saw a couple of other unoccupied room in same building. Maybe the per booked golfers get the good rooms.

The property was lovely. We enjoyed our stay. The power did go out on our last day and the hotel provided battery powered lamps for each room to use. I was traveling with my 80-year-old grandmother and wished I would have known the beds were going to be so tall because that would have determined the room we picked or hotel. The step stool was helpful but it was still difficult for her to get in the bed comfortably.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The room was not clean upon arrival, and basic amenities were either missing or not functioning properly. The staff seemed uninterested in resolving the issues and were not responsive to requests. Overall, the service did not match the price or expectations. I would not recommend staying here.

The property is a beautiful oasis. Room was clean and well appointed. The spa staff was amazing, had the best massage of my life! Front of house staff at check in was dismissive and not super friendly or helpful. A bit of a bummer considering the place was so great. The TERRIBLE thing was we had a group of dude bros in several rooms next to us. They were up until 3am, drunk, yelling, and camped outside of our door. The front of house did nothing to remedy the situation. My husband did.

This is a beautiful, very well maintained property externally. Really pretty, with immaculate grounds and golf course. That being said, we did experience some issues duting our three night stay:
1. Our room wasn't cleaned in that tine
2. The food in the bar was not good at all. We showed and mentioned the way the chicken wings we had been chosen as a starter had been served with laughably dry, goodness knows how old cartots and celery as crudites accompaniments and knew when the server said she would mention it to the kitchen she really wouldn't...
3.The salad I had was served in a plastic container and worse than one bought from a cheap supermarket. It was awful.
There was an immeasurable discrepancy between the restaurant food qualuty and that provide in the bar, although both were from the same kitchen!

I understand we are in a dessert but there is no need for the room furniture to be full of dust and the AC filter covers to be dirty right above the bed. Cleanliness outside the resort was well kept but the interior rooms could be cleaner and updated along with the pool.
Staff was very welcoming and would recommend the horse Back excursion.

The establishment is quite dated and does not appear to have received any recent updates. This would be fine except that it does not match with the $500+/per night for a basic room with two queen beds. They also seemed to be understaffed for what would be an expected busy time of the year (Spring Break). There were no towels at the pool, and multiple calls from multiple guests led to no response. After about an hour, bath towels were brought out. In our room, we had 3 guests, when services came, they only made up the room for 2. The onsite restaurant was not staffed to handle basic reservations. Staff was not welcoming or friendly.

Lajitas is a great place to stay whilst visiting both Big Bend National & State parks. It is gorgeous property with options for eating including coffee, pizza, ice creamy & bakery items as well as bar food & fine dining. Staff are all very friendly & helpful. It’s a beautiful property. The staff is amazing. We had a very tasty dinner at the restaurant and great drinks at the bar. Our room is strange. It’s across the street. Our bathroom toilet has a window directly across from it. there is also an outside door into that room and the checkin staff didn’t tell us to go around and use the “Front door”. The bathroom sink is in the bedroom and next to a bed. Our room smells like poo, like a portapotty

The offer some ammenties in the room, but when you get there they charge extra. They said a roll away was available when we vookes, but when we got there, they said we would have to upgrade our room. Also they had no microwave in the room, but could provide one. When we checked out they added a cost for it without telling us. The property looks nice, but as a resort they only have a basic room, basic fitness center and a movie theater. All other services are additional and you cn pay for those anywhere without having to stay there. You still have to drive about 40 mins to get to the Big Bend Entrance and at least 1 hour to get to any Big Bend attractions.

They left our door unlocked after cleaning the room. Their wait staff in the Thirsty Goat restaurant was unattentive, and a little bit too eclectic. They had a guitar entertainer in the Thirsty Goat one not that pushed his politics down everyone's throat. Just entertain me please!

Such a nice resort in the Big Bend area of West Texas! Very comfortable rooms, ask for a newly renovated one, and wonderful staff! The golf was incredible and the trail ride was great. I wish we had time for shooting and the spa! We loved it and hope to be back!

*Suggestions for hotel: the pillows seem really really old and clumpy and the sheets are scratchy -There are ways to upgrade that are not too terribly expensive!

Some of the staff were less than helpful, I felt that the restaurant and bar staff were not well trained, at 4:30 pm they wouldn’t serve us because they were changing their lunch menu to dinner menu at 5:00pm at the bar we were the only guests and our son was not allowed to seat in, the sign posted at the door said no minors after 5:00pm, the room AC was very loud and the pool water chemicals were very harsh on our eyes, great architecture and the decor was very nicely done, the cleaning staff and front desk staff were very friendly and professional

Restaurant disappointed

Our stay was good, but it was very hot and hence it was their off-season. It was nice in that the place was quiet and peaceful.

I loved the massage, and it was reasonably priced and included the tip. My husband loved the golf course. The grounds are also very nicely maintained.

My only complaint was the fancier restaurant on property and their pricing. The prices are high to begin with but when we asked for more bread, we were not told that they would charge $11 for a very small loaf (the 1st loaf came with our meal). If they would’ve let us know that, we would not have asked for more bread as it was not worth $11. I asked if they had a side salad to order with my meal. The waiter said they did not but that they could split their salad entree on 2 plates for my husband and me. We were also not told that they would charge an additional $6 to put the same salad on 2 plates! I felt that charge was ridiculous being that we were already paying a hefty price for our 2 enteees and had ordered drinks. I would have appreciated being told of these additional charges.

Failed to indicate white water rafting not available in summer, room awkwardly outdated and tight. Staff very friendly. Weather wiped out star gazing, horseback riding and hot springs. Food mediocre. Pretty much a washout accept for the amazing vistas of Big Bend National Park which we were allowed access to even with flooding

It was really like a 4.5. The resort was a great little oasis in the middle of desert. We were doing a couple days in Big Bend and needed a base camp. The kids loved the pool and the beds were comfortable and soft. The restaurant onsite was great! All the staff we interacted with were great! AC in the room worked wonderfully! Would definitely stay again if ever back in the area.

Very limitted dining unless you want to pay $70 for a steak. Our first night a racoon ran in front of us on the property boardwalk and then ran onto the tree. Bats are flying over your head every night and are scary when they fly down towards you.

We were disappointed by several aspects of our 3-day stay. First, there was no elevator access to the second floor, which made carrying luggage difficult. Second, the toilet in our bathroom was constantly running. We reported the issue twice, but unfortunately, no one ever came to fix it. Lastly, although the hotel advertises a pool, it’s not on-site—you have to cross the road to another part of the property to access it, which was inconvenient.

Rooms are not typical yet unique. The course is something special. I’ll be returning as much as I can! This trip even got my wife into golf since she hit a ball into Mexico on hole 15 😊

This was a beautiful resort, full of inviting and friendly staff, from the front office, housekeepers, bartender, wait staff, activities director, horse guide, and pool guy - excellent service everywhere! The bed was super comfortable, and the food and drinks were excellent. Beautiful views! Highly recommend!

Western Charm in the Desert

We had a wonderful time. The restaurant had a hacienda style atmosphere overlooking the golf course. The food was pricey but super delicious. Our server was fantastic. The grounds/landscaping were beautifully maintained and the Boardwalk was charming with a rustic, old western town vibe.
The room was our least favorite in that the bathroom was very small and certain areas are showing signs of aging. The bed was incredibly plush and comfortable.
Overall, a great experience. Would definitely recommend.
