We wanted a charming and cosy hotel, something spesial and it was perfect! Just what we was looking for, with a livingroom were we could have a drink and read a book in the evening. The food in the restaurant was realy good, and also included canarian spesialities.

Charming Rustic Hotel

Charming, simple, small rustic hotel with restaurant in hills about 20 minutes from TFS airport. So different from concrete and commercialism of the coast. If you want a pool you’ll be disappointed; if you want to chill you won’t. Also, no pizza/burgers/fish ‘n’ chips on the menu! Just make sure to ask for a room not overlooking the road.

Not suitable for mobility issues

If you have mobility problems do not use this hotel.when I booked I specified a ground floor room. However there are no ground floor rooms.you either walk across a very rough courtyard and climb the stairs or walk around the building up a steep hill and use a side entrance on the first floor there is no way you could use this hotel if you are in a wheelchair.l did speak to the manager about shortening our stay and obtain a refund for the last week but that was a flat NO. However we were so unhappy that we left after the first week and found another hotel.

This was a memorable visit. Located in San Miguel de Abona, well away from the main tourist centres, this small hotel was formerly a family home and exudes charm and character. Whilst room facilities are basic, they are perfectly adequate, and in any case there is a strong gravitational pull towards the lovely courtyard which doubles as an outdoor cafe during daytime. The host, Augustin, is welcoming and helpful, and always on hand to answer any questions that guests may have. I didn't get a chance to speak to Charo, Augustin's wife, mainly because she was far too busy working flat out cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Whether one orders a snack, lunch or evening meal the food is excellent and reasonably priced, as is the locally produced wine. The indoor restaurant where evening meals are served is intimate and atmospheric, and food is cooked from scratch with locally sourced ingredients. When checking out the following morning Augustin was more than happy to look after my bags for a few hours while I wandered around the town, and when I later met my cousin and her husband at the hotel they were so taken by its ambience that an immediate decision was made to have lunch in the courtyard. This is a hotel full of heart and soul run by hard-working, genuine people, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you are seeking an atmospheric alternative to the sort of sterile tourist accommodation that is pervasive in the southern half of the island then look no further.

The accomodation/casa is on a main road and we drove padt it twice before we found it. The lady in charge didnt seem please to see us at all and was very surly. She showed us to our dark and shuttered room and left us. No offer of a drink or when dinner was etc. Thankfully my husband speaks Spanish. Dinner was fine but again this woman didnt want us there. Breakfast was basic and we had to ask for a 2nd coffee....it was expensive overall for what it was and where it was.

A quaint Spanish welcome.

Carolina welcomed us so warmly. The hotel is full of character with lovely wood everywhere and huge keys. It is very quiet but rather dark because mostly guests will be in the garden. The food is generous, varied and delicious. The hotel is only ten minutes from the airport on a good main road.

Back from the Coast but Great

About 10 mins inland from the coast above Golf del Sur, a gem of an old property, modernised rooms and bathrooms.
Restaurant good, plus couple of others in this small town, so no need to motor out for dinner.
Sunny outside bar in small courtyard.
Roadworks on the Golf del Sur roundabout ( which has always been busy anyway) - so recommend leaving main motorway at next junction towards Los Cristianos if going up to San Miguel.

Impossible not to like this hotel. A beautiful place in an interesting Canarian town. The rooms are good for the price and the beds comfortable but the pretty courtyard is perhaps its best feature. Beware the 'breakfast included' option on hotels.com. It wasn't.

Quirky hotel that matches its brochure entry.

Cuatro Esquinas was the best thing about the time in Tenerife apart from the enjoyable - at least for me - experience of driving up and down via amazing hairpin bends. Room and restaurant and bar and terraced areas all excellent and with smiling -if leisurely- service.
One might also point out that the shower was more effective in promise than execution, but adequate.

I booked this hotel through Expedia and the confirmation stated that I would be charged in euros by the hotel
however when I checked my credit card they deducted the amount in GB Pounds this means that I got a
poor exchange rate. I think that expedia should ensure that what they state on their booking confirmation is
adhered to. Nearly every restaurant and places that I stayed in tried the same trick however I insisted that all
transactions were carried out in euros.

Good value overall

A very nice hotel although slightly cluttered with ornaments for my taste. Good points were friendly staff and nice courtyard area to enjoy a drink.
Downsides were that our room was right next to the main road meaning early traffic noise was disturbing (rooms in other parts of the hotel would probably be ok). Wifi is currently only available in the communal areas and was a bit patchy on reception - would be great to have it in the rooms too.
All in all, a pleasant stay.

Perfect hotel!

Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast and massive room. Beds are amazing. I really recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing hotel. Good location, 15 minutes from airport, beach and mountain for hiking. The food at the hotel is really nice and there are other restaurants and bars very close to it and food is really good as well.

Relaxing place

Lovely place to unwind from an exciting trip around the island in Tenerife. Hotel rural 4Esquinas was inviting cozy-reminded us of our grandmothers house; old pictures paintings, antiques and boal of sweets,fresh bread and croissants in the am...we enjoyed relaxing on the couch in the living room...and eating dinner at the hotel with their best wine of our choice on the island. I was content about it all, although I would not recommend eating their at lunch ..and having chicken stuffed with cranberry and nuts..disappointed with a few meals that did not meet the standard of the first dinner we had there. I would not recommend washing your clothes there. I asked if I could do a small wash of very little undergarments and was not warned of any costs. I barely used the drier and they charged me 8 euros without warning on my last dinner bill. I was extremely disappointed about it but I did not want to spoil my vacation so I got over it quickly. Advice..owners want your money..and are not as welcoming as you think about having you as a guest.

A real Spanish hotel,away from the crowds

Lovely intimate,friendly/comfortable hotel,i was well looked after.Breakfast was whenever I showed up,(a big plus),not diving about in a rush,,everything was relaxing,,sunning up on the roof privately..the owner arranged everything for car hire,and finally took me to get my return flight,,great service,where I felt at ease and de stressed.will be back.

OK the positives. 13 mins by taxi to the airport.
Central position near tourist office. Bar next door and across the road.
Own restaurant which was rather good.

Now the Marmite: We were shown the room which allegedly wasn't ours- the guy in ours hadn't checked out.
Little window with hessian roller blind softened by lavender bags. Bed comfortable enough, we had a good sleep.
Kettle, electric plug in radiator, towel rack, hanging rail, desk and chair.
Run of cupboards painted blue, topped by a worktop, complete with stainless steel sink which doubled as a washbasin.
Excellent shower with multi heads.
GET THIS: SHOWER AND LOO BEHIND A MOVEABLE WOOD AND MATERIAL SCREEN..........
BUT... and I think this is the artist in me. there were these little nuances. It was almost as if you were in someones house, the shelves had little nick nacks, out in the corridor of this enclave with marble floors- there were straw hats arranged artistically on bits of furniture, magazine racks, flowers. To the left of our room was a little patio sitting area with chairs and table for sun relaxing. Down a few steps to a little grotto with a pond and koi carp. Then steps to the al fresco area of the restaurant.
We had a really nice meal, appetiser starter main course, and the most gorgeous puddings (selected by our excellent waitress), lager for him, nice wine for me (x2) 53euros. Value!

Last stop off on visit

The hotel was our final days stay on the way back from Gomera before heading off to the airport. We were going to travel by bus from Los Cristianos to San Miguel D'Abona but because a complete lack of buses (full up before they even got to the bus station, only two stops down the line) we had to taxi it at 25 Euros. San Miguel is an OK town but the hotel was very charming, and the hotel restaurant served the best food we enjoyed on our trip. I would not hesitiate to recommend this hotel. It is both close to the airport (tenerife south) but nestled up in the mountains and would make a great place to base yourself to explore the island further if you have a car. I just wish that these places would have proper double beds, not just two singles squished together and that Satellite TV provided had some english channels available (disney and storage hunters notwithstanding).

We had a lovely stay here, staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for you. The food in the restaurant was so nice we ate there three times in the 9 days we stayed, we never do that! You would need a car to stay here as a bit remote, but I liked that and the peace and quiet of the area. If you are looking at this and want a more traditional Spanish hotel to the usual everywhere looks the same decor and you don't mind a short drive to the main areas I would highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyable stay

This is a traditional small Spanish hotel which has been tastefully renovated to provide an excellent holiday getaway for people who want to enjoy the 'real' Tenerife. This is an excellent base for hikers, climbers, cyclists or just those who want the more natural side of Tenerife. The owners and small staff team are genuinely friendly and helpful in every way. The food and atmosphere in the restaurant are excellent and the breakfast varied for all tastes and appetites. The roof area could be enhanced with comfortable chairs and planting to create a brilliant addition to the excellent courtyard and terrace already available.

I spent ten nights here over Xmas 2013. Overall a pleasant stay. Road noise is a small issue if you are a light sleeper, as I am, but it does dwindle to nothing from 10pm-7pm so no big deal. Good breakfast. Single beds a bit narrow with so-so pillows..that's all I can say negative! A nice man runs it and if you seek somewhere well away from the tourist hubs but with easy access to everywhere on Tenerife then this place ticks most boxes.

Easily accessible Hotel in San Miguel about 10 miles North of the Airport.
Lovely people, quiet comfortable room and good food. Parking on the street opposite.
20 minute drive to the resorts of Los Christianos and Playa Las Americas.
If you wish to get away from the hussle-bussle of these resorts then this is a good choice.
Cooked my breakfast as I like it !
15 minute drive to Golf del Sur where I played golf.
Met a few people here who were to hike in the mountains above.
Good choice of Hotel for me.

Truly memorable food

4 Esquinas is the perfect place if you like genuine people and genuine food. A far cry from the usual overfilled anglicized resorts of the South! The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming and la Senora's cooking is outstanding! San Miguel is only 20 mins from Tenerife South airport and a fairly good base for exploring the mountains. We stayed for 2 nights before heading to the north of the island.

Rural hotel with all modern conveniences

The owners are very proud of the restoration of the old building which was opened in November last year. The couple give friendly service and helpful advice about local amenities. The bed was very comfortable The bedroom was spacious with a very high traditional ceiling, and the bathroom has a state of the art shower.

Tables are laid outside for eating as well as inside for warmth in the mornings. San Miguel is quite high up and cooler than coastal resorts. I live half an hour away near the coast and we enjoyed a birthday night in the hotel as a treat. We were not disappointed.

The road is quite noisy in the day, but didn't disturb our sleep at night. The accommodation is very close to the small town. There is a museum El Capitan nearby showing Canarian history. A hotel to be explored.

Quelle déception, après un séjour en juin 2023, c'est établissement , certes rustique est à fuir. Le patron est toujours très agréable, mais que dire de ses employées :
Service de plats non commandé, mais néanmoins facturés.
Fréquence du nettoyage de la chambre aléatoire.
TV en panne.
Climatisation/ chauffage en panne.
17 degrés et très humide dans la chambre.
Prix chambre, plats, boissons excessifs, ne correspondant pas à la qualité.
Dommage, on ne reviendra plus.

Sehr nette Leute. Essen im Restaurant ist in Ordnung, Frühstück ausreichend. Beim ersten Aufenthalt hätte ich Probleme mit der Dusche: Es kam nur kaltes Wasser. Nachdem ich das in Google Maps bemängelt hatte, war das beim zweiten Aufenthalt kein Thema mehr.
Die Lage ist nicht wirklich optimal: Es gibt wenige Parkplätze in der Nähe und das Hotel liegt direkt an einer vielbefahrenen Hauptstraße.

Schönes Haus etwas lieblos geführt

Die Begrüßung (wir sprechen kein spanisch aber ein freundliches Wort hätten wir bemerkt) bestand aus aus einer ausgestreckten Hand, die uns ungeduldig aufforderte die \"Passports\" rauszurücken, damit die Buchung gefunden werden konnte. Vielleicht haben wir deshalb regelmäßig darauf geachtet, ob es z.B.am Morgen mal eine Begrüßung gab... nö. Frühstückservice wurde an drei Tagen zwar tendenziell freundlich \"abgearbeitet\":Kaffee oder Tee, Eggs gebraten, Omlett oder Rührei... Ansonsten ein hoher Anteil an Plastikportionsverpackungen. Dafür, das Restaurant nicht auzuprobieren, hatten wir damit einige Gründe.

Nach zwei intensiven Wanderwochen auf La Gomera haben wir die letzte Nacht unserer Ferien in der Nähe des Flughafens Tenerife Sur verbracht. Was wir angetroffen haben: wunderschönes, mit viel Liebe zum Detail gepflegtes Haus, stimmungsvolle Ecken, sehr gute Küche und vor allem äusserst freundliches, fröhliches und warmherziges Personal, das alles unternimmt für zufriedene Kunden, die gerne wiederkommen. Hotellet ligger i en lille, hyggelig by lidt oppe i bjergene - langt væk fra de store badehoteller, så man får et indtryk af livet på øen. Selve hotellet er charmerende - ligesom familien, der driver det. Det ligger kun 7 km fra lufthavnen og er nemt at finde, hvis man kører i lejet bil. Der er p-pladser meget tæt på hotellet.
Af øens seværdigheder ligger Loro Parque længst væk, men det tager under halvanden time at køre dertil, så alt er i rimelig afstand.

Unangenehmer Aufenthalt

- Zimmer: die Zimmer sind düster, uralt und sehr hellhörig. Daher ist sowohl der Straßenlärm zu hören, als auch alle möglichen Geräusche aus den Nachbarzimmern und aus dem Flur. Wirtschaftsräume befinden sich neben den Gästezimmern, was für zusätzlichen Lärm sorgt. Während unseres Aufenthalts lief ein lauter, quietschender Trockner bis 00:30 Uhr. An Schlaf war nicht zu denken.

- Frühstücksbuffet: noch nie habe ich in einem Hotel ein so karges Buffet vorgefunden. Selbst Wurst und Käse gab es nur auf Nachfrage und dann nur je eine Sorte. Warme Speisen oder frisches Gemüse wird vergebens gesucht.

- Unprofessionelle Betreiber: sind die Betreiber gut gelaunt, geht das noch unter „familiärer Atmosphäre“ durch. Aber wehe es passt ihnen etwas nicht. Wir hatten mit dem Betreiber abgesprochen, dass wir das Zimmer statt um 12 Uhr erst um 13 Uhr verlassen. Um 12:10 Uhr stand eine Person vor der Tür, die uns lautstark mitteilte, dass wir das Zimmer nun SOFORT zu verlassen haben. Als wir auf die Absprache mit dem Betreiber verwiesen wurde sie richtig laut und ausfällig.
Der Betrieb scheint allgemein sehr unorganisiert zu sein, die Arbeitsmotivation hält sich stark in Grenzen.

- Umgebung: die Umgebung ist öde und trostlos, es gibt wenig Wanderpfade und noch weniger Restaurants. Wir waren nur für die Nacht vor unserem Abflug hier. Warum in diesem Ort jemand freiwillig Urlaub macht erschließt sich mir nicht.

Venligt personale, dejlig beliggenhed

Perfekt hotel - langt væk fra strandens turisme og diskoteker, dårlige madsteder og billige shops. Beliggenhed lidt op i bjergene er perfekt, Hotellets restaurant virkelig god.

Authentisches Hotel in Bergdorf

Sehr typisches altes spanisches Haus mit schönem Hof, mit viel Liebe hergerichtet. Leider in einigen Zimmern etwas laut durch die nahe Straße. Hilfsbereites Personal, das uns einen Zimmerwechsel ermöglichte.

Hätte mir bei einem mehrstündigen totaken Stromausfall, der ganze Ortsteil, 20.00 - nach 24 Uhr gewünscht, dass mal jemand vom Hotel fragt, ob man etwas benötigt, evtl. Kerze o.ä..
