Hotel Villa Ambrosina is quiet, off the beaten path with beautiful views. I absolutely loved the room. It had a beautiful terrace overlooking the hills of Tuscany. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was plentiful for only 5 euros. I will caution everyone that it's a very hilly approach from the town, but we walked to a local store for supplies with no problems at all. I loved this stay.

Very nice hotel at the top of a mountain with a great view. Beautiful and quiet area to walk around. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was quite good.
Going up the mountain in the taxi was quite scary as the roads are very narrow and steep.
The room doesn’t have a minibar, which would have been nice.
Definitely would come back and recommend it to those looking for some quiet and relaxing time.

Our stay in this hotel was wonderful. The guy at the front desk make our stay feel like home. Help us Dutch everything we need. The only thing about this place it’s transportation hard to find a taxi. Other than that all is excellent!!!! Will recommend for a quiet gateway.

Amazing views and convenient for Florence

Hotel Villa Ambrosina is up a steep hill with Commanding views of the Tuscan countryside from the top, it was a 15 minute drive from Florence and we parked in a big car park just inside the city walls which was great.
The hotel is slightly dated, reception were helpful and there is a separate restaurant on site, the road to the hotel is narrow but there is a better alternative route!

Was clean and it was sufficient to sleep at. Staff wasn’t rude but not what one would call outgoing and helpful. We had a problem with the AC leaking all over the floor and around the door. Instead of fixing it or changing rooms. The desk clerk handed me a bath mat and walked away. 4 days we stayed and no one bothered to fix it or anything. Instead it dripped over the entry door and out into the hall. Floor was marble tile inside and outside except for the carpet runner that was in the hall which got soaked and I’m sure will be moldy by now. No help from the staff and not even a sorry we will try to fix it later. Pictures on hotel.com were of new furniture and nice decor for the lobby and sitting areas. My guess is they were removed and replaced after the photos with older furniture. Pictures of the outside the hotel were also old. Supposedly a nice grassy area which is all dug up and under construction now.

Nice hotel close to Florence by car.

Nice hotel but slightly off the beaten path. We stayed there because we had a car so it was a less expensive option than in Staying in Florence. People were helpful and courteous, especially the concierge. He helped us with directions and suggestions about things to do. Excellent restaurant and a nice continental breakfast that was included in price. We would stay there again.

Great service, very friendly people. I was sick the last night and asked for privacy to be able to sleep and everyone was on top of it!! The breakfast is pretty basic but sufficient and of good quality. The only thing is the internet wireless connection. It does not work in the rooms and there is not a wired option either. Other than that, I would have given it a 5.

Manager was extremely helpful which was much appreciated. He gave us directions to places to visit etc. the staff also was very helpful.
We did find that the floor tile and bathroom tile needed cleaning as there was black mold.

The hotel exterior is awesome, great location with a wonderful view of the city. However, the rooms could use some updating with new paint, new bedding, better pillows (not flat ones). And fix the water pressure for the showers. It was a trickle. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and extremely helpful.

The room was beautiful with a fantastic view. Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. We had a mix up and thought our ipad was missing and the hotel staff took it very seriously and helped us look for it, which we found once our daughter remembered she had placed jt in a side pocket of one of the luggage. The location was very quaint but the hotel had great accomodations. We would stay there again in a heart beat. Was very close to Florence by car.

Relaxing hotel stay in Impruneta

No kettle is provided. The hotel staff brought us to get hot water from a coffee ventilation machine in the breakfast area. It was slow to fill up a bottle. Breakfast food choice is limited. GPS brought us to wrong place; hotel staff already know but they should have either 'adjust' the address or provided the alternative route to the top of the hill.

Limited restaurant or food store (no supermarket)near the hotel. Might have some in Impruneta town which is 5-7km away.

Good heaters and family room size with 2 huge beds. Nice panaromic view of the town from hotel room and restaurant.

LOVE IT!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this hotel. This is my second time staying and both times have been exceptional. The hotels offers a beautiful view, features a FANTASTIC restaurant on site (buses drop groups off here for dinner!), and the staff are always wonderful. The rooms are large, as well as the bathroom. It's about 20 minutes outside of Florence and the hills are a steep climb, but it is most definitely worth it. The first time we visited, we had to walk from the bus stop all the way up and it was quite a hike; fortunately a gentleman offered to drive us up with our luggage. The second time we visited, we had a car so it was easier. There are two ways to drive up; the bus route is more direct and easier than the steep, winding, narrow local road.

Our stay at villa Ambrosina was wonderful! Our room was very big. With a wonderful view!!!! It's 15 to 20 minutes from florence, so you need a car to get there! Just check your GPS because its not so easy to get there, in our GPS we had 4 options for the same adress, we where lucky to get there in our first try! You have a wonderful restaurant in the hotel! Try it! The hotel staff is really helpfull they even booked us a tour! My 15 year old son told us if our room had a balcony with a table and some chairs and had a better breakfast it can be a 5 star hotel!

Gem on a Hill

We liked it so much we extended out stay. Finding it will require a good GPS and still will need some tweaking. Be sure to go to the top of the main street and look for the sharp right turn and drive past \"you are at your location\". You will see the hotel as you wind around the narrow street. Watch out for on coming cars. Honk on the blind corners. You will not regret your decision. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel is truly excellent. You can't go wrong!!

Out of the way villa

We chose this sight as it was listed as just over 5 miles from the train station. That's a straight line....not actual driving time. The villa itself is pretty and has a nice view. Some things to consider for personal comforts- our room was on the 2nd floor and we had to get the luggage up the steps. We got free wi-fi but it didn't reach our room so if we wanted to use the internet we had to go to the next building. The bus stop is within a reasonable distance, but you have to walk down the steep road the villa is on and then along the highway with no sidewalks to get to it. Our room was nice overall but there was mold growing above the shower. So overall I think this villa would make an ok location for those who are driving around Italy, and with the above mentioned issues in mind.

Don't trust your GPS

You must enter off the main road. ...otherwise you get loat in the natrow steep streets. The hotel is located a short drive from Florence with an awesome view. The rooms are very nice and the restaurant good too! We couldn't connect to wifi in our room and I'd say the cleaners need a good talking to.

Nice to stay for out of city experience

The hotel is really good with a breath taking view.
The staff are very polite and extremely helpful. You would need a taxi or car to reach the place not so easy by foot or bus.

Ok for one night

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and upon entering our room found a lot of bugs on the ceiling and walls. Also, the floor was quite dirty with hair and dust. When we asked to switch rooms the front desk claimed that they were full and had no other vacancies. We did not believe this as there were only 2 other families there while we were there, and we never saw anyone else. The a/c was something to be desired; unless you were standing directly in front of the a/c unit it was hot and humid in the room. We tried the restaurant the second evening we were there, the food was ok, it was just very oily. The road up to the hotel is very steep and bumpy, I would not suggest anyone walk up this road; a car is necessary when staying here. All in all, it is ok for a one night stay, no longer.

We booked this hotel based on the reviews;however, to our dismay we found the accommodations, location, personnel & overall service to be below sub-standard! If fact, the room was so dirty, air condition did work and with the 1 mile \"hike\" to catch a 40 bus ride to Florence we decided to check out an adventure to more acceptable accommodations. Prior to coming to this hotel we had traveled & stayed at several different places in Europe and was extremely pleased with our accommodations. This hotel offers NO service to the customer nor do they care to make your stay pleasurable. We would NOT recommend this hotel and in fact, would highly recommend that you consider other selection. Truly, it initially dampened our first encounter with Florence! Beware!!!!

Bad experience. Smoky Room with No Internet.

This was a bad experience. The hotel staff tried to charge us extra charges. Our room was supposed to be non smoking but smelled of smoke and had an ashtray in it. Also, we were put in a room far away from the main hotel. We did not have in room internet access and had to walk to the main hotel to get internet access. We were told that if we had been put in the main hotel we would have had the internet access in our room as described. The bed was super hard, the shower did not drain properly and also leaked into the rest of the bathroom. Overall this was not a great hotel experience.

A Very Tuscan Experience

Hotel Villa Ambrosina feels like the real Tuscany of the past with all the modern conveniences. It would be hard to imagine it anywhere else. It's situated in a lovely park on a hill and it looks out on the surrounding countryside. The staff is very gracious and we enjoyed staying there very much. In addition, it's about 15 minutes from Florence by car and one can also use the bus.

Staff helpful, and restaurant located next to hotel was very nice. You'd probably need a car to appreciate this hotel as it was an uphill walk to it from the town and fairly isolated from nightlife etc...

We loved staying here for the view and the ability to drive in and out of the city. The Hotel does have a great vantage point, a charming atmosphere, and a good continental breakfast (surcharge). The front desk staff gave a map with directions for parking in Florence near Piazzale Porta Romana. The restaurant below our rooms was noisy at night.

The location of this hotel is excellent if you're visiting Tuscany by car, though may be a little difficult to find without a GPS. It's located on top of a hill with a great view (not from all the rooms though). You can even see a little of Florence from the attached Restaurant. The AC in one of the rooms was not working properly but the staff were able to fix it when we asked. The staff were very helpful but some did not speak English well. The breakfast is as expected in Italy, but they do have a VERY good self-serve espresso machine. If you want to visit Florence, there is free parking at the bottom of the hill with a direct bus into the city. The attached restaurant is excellent. Would stay (and eat) here again.

Out of the way, but definitely worth it

There are many hotels to choose from in and around the city center. But if you're looking for a hotel that's out of the way, that has a unique charm, that allows you to take in the Tuscan countryside, yet also a hotel close enough to Florence for day trips, then this is your place. Some highlights: 1) Connected to the hotel is a great restaurant: awesome food, great variety, romantic feel, reasonable prices, excellent service. 2) The hotel has a great view of the town below it, the hills around it, and (off in the distance) the top of Il Duomo. 3) The hotel is smallish and has a unique feel to it since it was originally built c.1920s and then refurbished. Other notes: Stefano, on the night desk, was a real treat. He speaks great Spanish and not-so-good English. So, if you're one who demands that the whole world speak English, then you'll have a hard time speaking with him - but that's your loss. We had wonderful conversations (in Spanish) and he helped us find hotels in other parts of Italy. Hotel Ambrosina, like Stefano, is worth taking the extra measure getting to know. Finally, the hotel restaurant, run by Chef Emilio, is a real gem. He's highly rated, so the restaurant attracts locals for good reason. We also got to know the servers Francesco and Fati: Excellent service, genuine advice on what to eat/drink, and always a sincere smile. A unique experience all around. Do yourself a favor and spend more than a day or two there.

Great Hotel!

This hotel sits on top of a hill with a great view of Florence. It is ideal for visitors with a car at their disposal. We traveled here via the train station and caught a taxi to the hotel (approx 40 euros). Additionally, there is a bus at the bottom of the hill that will take you into the city. Tickets may be purchased from a smoke shop near the bus stop (approx 1.2 euros one way). If you are traveling without a vehicle and a lot of luggage, I suggest a taxi as the mode of transportation for when you first arrive at the hotel. The staff are friendly, the accommodations are great, and view at night is breathtaking. There is a restaurant on the back side of the hill (away from the small town) that serves amazing Italian cuisine for those looking for more bang for their buck. Personally, I found the restaurant at the hotel to be just \"ok\" compared to the other local choices. I will gladly stay there again during my next visit!

Outside of Florence but worth it!

There was a huge conference in Florence when we there to meet a business contact, so all the hotels were full and taxis were hard to come by. This hotel is outside of Florence in Impruneta ??, but other than having no elevator, it was a beautiful warm and cozy villa-style hotel, with sophisticated restaurant on site. The hotel staff were more than accommodating and friendly. One older gentlemen (who may have been the owner) even gave us a ride into town when we couldn't get a taxi. The people in town were friendly and helpful. You won't find that kind of treatment in the heart of Forence! Worth spending a day to walk around that town.

Located on top of a mountain the views are wonderful The restaurant serves great food with great service. I had dinner with my family and ordered things not on their menu that they fixed to perfection. Rooms were typical small but very clean. We had a car a drove into the city and stayed at the parking downtown which cost about 20 euros which is well worth it. You can take the bus to Florence but you have to walk down the long and steep hill. We talked to some of the other guests some who had a car and some who did the walk. Everyone agreed that the hotel was great. I think the trade off of being outside the city is more than made up by the location of the hotel on top of a mountain with everything considered.

Very nice location on top of a hill with views over the surrounding countryside. Nice grounds.

Adjacent restaurant is quite good and just across the court yard, which is nice if you like to enjoy the local Chianti.

Not recommended if you don't have a car, or don't feel comfortable driving up a steep, narrow switchback road.

Most staff don't speak English but are willing to engage in mutual hand gestures and guessing. Adds color to the visit ;-)

Picturesque Views

The hotel and the surrounding area looks like it popped right out of a tuscan painting. Very picturesque views. The hotel staff were very nice but we did have a problem on a couple of occasions with the language barrier. A car is by far the best mode of transportation. They do have a bus stop nearby but walking from/to with luggage is not recommended. There is a restaurant on site with authentic italian cuisine. My husband really wanted spaghetti carbinara which was not on the menu. They made it upon request. The hotel room reminded us of a quaint bed and breakfast type setting. We definitely recommend this to others. Note: Our GPS was unable to actually locate the building. It took us to the bottom of the road that leads to the hotel. The road leading to the hotel is winding and narrow. Take the road to the very top. The hotel will be on the right.

If you don't need to be in Florence, but have a car and want to be near Florence, this is THE PLACE to stay. The staff is wonderfully accommodating, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the view from the rooms is beautiful landscape. The hotel is a kilometer or 2 from the bus that runs regularly -- about every 15-20 minutes -- from Tavarnuzze to the central train station in Milan, a ride that takes from 20-40 minutes. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

You will need a car - other than that there is really not much to say. The hotel is situated on top of a hill and has beautiful views of the surrounding areas - Tavarnuzze and Impruneta. About 5 miles to Florence - what a spectacular destination. You can't go wrong with this hotel.

Not far from the autostrada so very quick and easy to head off to Siena or Florence. Florence is about a 15mins by bus ride from Tavarnusse (5 min drive from hotel). Lovely location up in the hills. The rooms were great. If driving make sure you get good directions as there are some VERY narrow roads up in the hills if you take a wrong turn.

The views are exceptional, staff very helpful and the restaurant(adjacent, but operated separately), was outstanding, with superior food and wait staff.
Hotel reception manager was extremely helpful in planning daily itineraries.
The villa has considerable charm. Maintenance of systems could be improved, as elsewhere in Italy; i.e. broken ice machine, inoperable spa, grounds needed raking.
We were in the dependance, which was decorated with newer ultra-modern furnishings and bath fixtures. Do not know if the rooms in the main villa building were the same or more traditional furnishings.
Continental breakfast was adequate but not exceptional, considering the 5 Euro cost per person.

You do need a car for reaching this nice hotel!

Everything is perfect: perfect view, free wifi (only assessable in lobby), nice restaurant, nice staff and spacious room. While it Is located on a hill, it's really not easy to drive there if you're driving a manual car, other than that, everything is okay and it's takes around 20 to 30 minutes for going to Florence downtown.

All We Could Have Expected

We stayed 5 nights, Nice size rooms and bath with traditional Italian decor. Excellent restaurant attached. Staff spoke English. Convenient location from which to explore Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca. Bus stop for Florence nearby.

Wonderful...

What a great way to experience Tuscony. After a full day in Florence, we were so pleased with the ambiance and flavour of this location - such a spectacular view. Be mindful of the drive up to the Villa, it's quite steep and twisty. If you are going to be staying over a Sunday, plan for your meals without much choice in restaurants. On site restaurant is very good. Service was excellent.

Hotel Villa Ambrosina - a hotel with a view

The hotel staff were very obliging. The view from our bed was picture perfect. The breakfast was good (for Italy). The hotel was a little inaccessible, but we would be happy to return in future.

- Very nice hotel.
- Very nice location.
- The people at the reception were extremely great.
- Good restaurant near the hotel (20meters)

Neutral:
- You have to be aware that by car, you'll need around 25min to get to the center of Firenze.
- The \"Classic Double Room\" is pretty small (but VERY clean and new), and no direct view on the landscape. (landscape hidden by a vegetal wall)
- If you want a pool, there is one, but for one person at a time :-)

great view, hard to reach

Great view of Toscany from the rooms is waiting for you in this hotel . Rooms are large but do not look for any luxury like a refrigarator .. There is a very friendly typical Italian resturant on the ground floor sharing the great view of Toscany with delicius traditional Italian food . You definately need a car, there is no close public transport or any place in walking distance . Breakfast is simple but cheap .

Amazing views

My son and I enjoyed staying at this beautiful hotel. The views from our hotel window were breathtaking! Cost of hotel very reasonable. Clean and nicely decorated hallways and lobby. We had a problem our first night with mosquitos in the room. The staff corrected the problem by giving us the second night a little unit you plug in the outlet that is a mosquito repellent. So you may want to request that right away. The restaurant attached to this hotel was excellent, however a nearby Steakhouse called Scopeti had us pay for a $90 steak that was so chewy, we could barely swallow one bite. Very unprofessional. The non steak items we ordered were very good.
We definitely would recommend this hotel. If you are using a navigation system, use the city \"Impruneta Firenze\". Once you get to Impruneta, ask someone where the hotel is. It will save you some time trying to find it.

Hotel Villa Ambrosina - Tavarnuzze

This is a hidden gem of a hotel! One of the most affordable in the area and in our opinion one of the best! The staff was very accomodating and helped us as much as possible during our stay. We stayed 5 nights while in the area for a wedding. The room was clean and comfortable and had working air conditioning which we found is a rare thing in the region. We had concerns about staying in a hotel as many other people we knew were staying in a villa. We were extremely happy with our choice and would definitely stay again. The only thing we experienced trouble with was finding the hotel, but that was partially our fault because we arrived after dark. You pretty much need to have a car if you are going to stay here, the bus stop is not far away but is a very steep walk. Overall we were highly impressed with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone! Thanks to all of the staff for the wonderful service!

Great, except if you don't have transportation up the mountain

Hotel Villa Ambrosina is a wonderful hotel with a gorgeous view and a very good restaurant. Service was very good and the staff was extremely helpful. Be ready for a steep hike (30 minutes) if you don't have a car/ don't want to take a taxi (from Florence it costs about 20 euro to taxi). Overall highly recommended.

An hotel with a VIEW

AMAZING VIEW from the hotel and VERY good restaurant at the hotel.
The view alone is worth trying this hotel. This hotel was a lot better than many 4 stars you could find in Italy. The view from the restaurant is breath taking and only enhance food that in itself is already pretty good (amazing risotto by the way).
However very hard to find (do not trust your GPS on this one...) and there is a steep hill going to the hotel

Good hotel to go visit Florence as it is only 15 minutes by car. I think you can also go by bus, which is probably better because we never found the free parking the hotel employee told us about and ended up paying a lot of money (I think over 24 euros for about 8 hours)

We were three adults in one room, the size of the room was too small.
The third bed wasn't a bed, but a cot. This would have been okay for a small child.
You can skip the included breakfast. The breakfast choices were very limited and poor quality.
Free internet was available.
Very difficult to find to find this hotel, even with GPS.
There is about a 30 minute drive to Piazzale Michaelangelo.
The staff was very friendly .
We would not go back again.

Hotel Villa Ambrosina - A hideaway in the hills

We read the reviews before we booked this hotel and they reflected, what we got: rather difficult to find hotel, but really lovely once you reach there. The staff were very friendly, the room clean and more modern and spacious than we expected. The hotel has a good restaurant with an amazing view, so definitely would recommend to eat there. The brakfast was very simple continental, but had everything we wanted.
We only stayed there for one night, but we would have loved to stay longer.

Tranquil Oasis on the top of a hill

It was tough finding the location, GPS was no help so a local came to the rescue. It's up a really steep one way hill but when you get to the top you see a lush tropical oasis. Very efficient staff, great grounds, small pool, our room was neat and tidy, and the restaurant on property was superb! Overall we wish we could have stayed longer, the views from the restaurant also overlook the city, it was a magical romantic getaway.

Amazing Experience

This hotel needs another star. It was our best accommodation experience on our 3 week trip through Europe.

Situated in Tavarnuzze, a 20 minute bus ride outside of Florence (bus no 37 from the Central Station). Once we arrived in this small Italian town, we didn't want to go back to the bustling city of Florence. It was beautiful and a real Italian experience. The locals were so helpful and very kind. Most of them didn't speak english, but that didn't get in the way at all.

If you arrive in Tavarnuzze by bus and don't know where to go, just ask one of the locals for directions. They all seem to know about this Villa.

The villa is at the top of a hill overlooking the town and Florence. The hill is long and fairly steep, but it is walkable if you're able bodied and looking for a beautiful hike (about 15 minutes). We did it every day for 3 days, even after long days in Florence, it was completely worth it. We are 26 and only had backpacks, I can see it being a problem if you have lots of luggage. If that's the case, rent a car.

Our room was in the annex (a building apart from the main hotel). It was very clean and had a beautiful view of Tavarnuzze and Florence in the distance. The room was modern with the best bathroom we experienced in Europe. Large with a luxurious shower (a necessity after that hike up the hill).

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and most spoke good english. The night staff didn't speak much english, but it was never a problem.

The restaurant next to this hotel was amazing. The service and food are probably the best we've had on our entire trip. It's very well known to locals.

At the bottom of the hill is a fantastic pizza place you have to visit.

One warning, We arrived in May. They apparently don't activate their air conditioning until June. This wasn't a problem for us because it got quite cool in the evening.

The Villa Ambrosina and the town of Tavarnuzze made our trip through Europe truly special. We would stay here again.

Hotel is only 15 min drive from main turist attractions of Florence. It is good for exploring Chianti and San Gimigniano, Voltera ...Nature and view are beutifull from the hotel. I am very satisfied and I would come here again.

Nice hotel for the price

The hotel is located outside Florence but in a beautiful location. We had a car, so getting there was not a problem. For those without, I would not recommend the hotel. Parking is free, so you can leave your car at the bus station parking lot (free as well) and explore Florence by bus, quick and cheap (1 euro, one way). The breakfast is also nice. The hotel is definitely a nice place to stay on the budget, away from the city hassle.
Also, it is close to Pisa (1 hr), Chianti region etc.

This is a lovely hotel with large clean rooms and a great breakfast. There is a good restaurant next door. It has commanding views but can be difficult to find. You absolutely need a sat nav. There is an easy and hard route on the nav; both will take you there, up very steep roads. It is well worth it when you get there. Florence is terrible for traffic, stay outside and drive in. This is not a hotel if you are looking for bus route accommodation. Excellent value for money. Excellent for two adults and two kids in one room who can share a pull out second bed. Main bed was four poster!

Hotel Villa Ambrosina- pleasant hilltop experience

You will need a car to stay at this hotel. It is a 25 - 30 minute bus ride from the hotel to the train station in Florence. The cost is 2.4 Euro per person per day for the bus. Free parking is available on site, and you will need to drive to the center of Tavarnuzze (about 1 - 1.5 miles) to get on the bus. If you get into Tavarnuzze before 9:45am, you should be able to find free parking for the day in a parking lot located in its center.

Our 4 night stay at the hotel was in the offseason (late November), which meant that there were few people there. Most were other Italians, on business, who would stay for 1 or 2 nights. They would be gone by 8:00am in the morning, and it appeared like we were the only ones there each morning at our 8:30am breakfast.

Our triple room was the largest we had during our 12 day vacation in Italy. It had a good size bathroom, king size bed, and a couch that converted into a queen size bed.

The hotel is located on top of a hill, and it requires a 1/2 mile drive up a steep and narrow road with several switchbacks. We arrived at night and stopped in Tavarnuzze to ask someone where it is located, and they noted that it was about 600m ahead on the left hand side. If we kept driving on our own without that information, we would probably have missed the small sign.

The best part of our stay was the interaction we had with Stephon, the night receptionist. He is a joy to talk to, and provided many insights about life in Italy. He and his wife lived and worked in Costa Rica for 12 years, and as a result, is fluent in Spanish. While he can speak some English, my daughter and I spoke to him in Spanish throughout our stay. Our interaction with Stephon made the stay at this hotel interesting and special.

I should also mention that the hotel overlooks the town of Tavarnuzze and the surrounding countryside, which could easily be seen from the windows in our room.

We truly enjoyed this stay, and will opt to stay here again during our next trip to Florence.

Close to Florence & close enough to Siena

The room was very nice and already set up for our two children, who were to sleep on the sofa bed together. Bathroom was up to date and everything worked well. Breakfast was decent for both mornings we were there -- decent and not terribly fancy. We were situated right above the attached restaurant (not affiliated with the hotel) -- and that got a little noisy once the tour groups were getting back on their bus to leave. Other than that, we enjoyed the hotel and would definitely stay there again, as it's close enough to Siena AND Florence. Free parking is included -- which is a bonus for us since we drive when we travel 80% of the time. We were able to make it to Florence rather quickly AND back to the hotel in a timely manner.

Nice and clean hotel in little town outside Florence, Italy

Very nice and clean hotel. Sits ontop of a large hill with a good view. Suggest that you have a car to get to hotel. Need to go up VERY steep swithchback road from town. Can walk but would need to be in great shape. Not too easy to find, but thats Italy. Had a nice stay with a good size room that we were able to check in early. Peaceful setting in October.

Great hill top view.

Great hill top hotel,with a great view of country side and the highway Getting there is an adventure that you will remember for a life time.Need GPS to find it and the ability to drive up steep hills in a car with a manual transmission.The hotel is well worth the climb.Feels like a Tuscan villa.Very private location.Plenty of free parking and great restaurant next door.Half hour drive to Florence city center and easy access to highway for visiting nearby towns.Need car.Bus stop,in nearby town below is too far to walk,and to do it with luggage is impossible.The staff is bi-lingual and helpful.Have road maps on hand.Complimentary buffet breakfast not bad.Very relaxing hotel.Would stay again.

Hilltop hideaway

Excellent price for a pleasant hilltop stay. Rooms were clean and all facilities functioned. Free parking, safe and close to hotel. Concierge was fluent in both Spanish and Italian and spoke some English as will Both the restaurant at the hotel (not same company) and the one at the bottom of the hill are somewhat overpriced and not the greatest. Recommend finding a small place in Florence for better food and prices.

Location of the hotel on a hill was fantastic.

This was a wonderful hotel. The location was perfect. We sat on the patio area and had a drink and relaxed after our days journey. Restraunt next door was also convenient and very good. Location was a little hard to find but worth the effort.
