Despite the hotel's beautiful atmosphere, the staff were unfriendly, nasty, and even racist. They were not welcoming or kind, which made our stay unpleasant. Stayed here for four nights with my husband and it was amazing! The breakfast in the morning was delicious and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved that it was outside of the busyness of the city but close enough to have a taxi take us back and forth throughout the day. We had the hotel call us a taxi multiple times but also downloaded AppTaxi to get rides back to the hotel which was very convenient. The room was very comfortable and the pool area very peaceful - we loved coming here to wind down after exploring all day!

I could not recommend this hotel more!!!

Very personal service and friendly staffs! Our annex room had a small balcony attached to it, spacious room with clean bathroom and air conditioning. Used the pool as we traveled in a really hot weekend. Breakfast was a great plus!

Fabulous quiet comfort in Florence

This hotel was a delicious find in a park behind Boboli Gardens. The rooms are spacious and the elegant decor gave a feeling of old world grandeur. The staff went out of their way to help make our stay comfortable. Iuliana in reception was so amazing and kind to my parents. Will be back for sure.

Dream stay hotel away for crowds

We loved everything about our stay. Food, especially the eggplant parm, complementary breakfeast buffet was a feast. Waiter for dinner was same guy every meal. Working so hard and so pleasant. Felt like we were all family for our stay. Very quit w beautiful pool n so close to Boboli gardens for morning walks.

This is the third time we have stayed at
hotel Park Palace. This time the prices had trebled but it was worth it as it really lovely there. The location is fantastic. After sightseeing in Florence, we could cool off in the pool at Park Palace and have a light lunch on the terrace. Wonderful setting.

Great position but not the greatest stay.

We chose this hotel for the lovely position. A 30 min walk out of town set in beautiful parkland. We arrived at 2.30pm and were told our room was not ready. So not a great start. When we did finally get our room the aspect was horrible looking out into scrub. Photos attached. The wifi is non existent as there is absolutely no service. My husband and I ordered some drinks to have by the pool one afternoon and after 30 minutes we chased them up. The waiter had forgot. We waited another 30 minutes for the drinks. We had paid for breakfast to be included with our accomodation, but the service commenced at 7.30 and not 7am like other hotels. We had some tours booked with 8am starts so we were unable to utilise the breakfast at the accomodation on a couple of occasions. One of the mornings we got down to the breakfast room for 7.35 but the full compliment of breakfast was still not available as they were still preparing it. Finally, there is not any soundproofing between the rooms. We could hear every word in the room next door in addition to other showers running.

This was the third time we've stayed at the Park Palace and we thoroughly recommend it. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the food is excellent. The hotel is a short but steep walk away from the centre of Florence.

Lovely hotel in the hills above Florence

The Park Palace is both comfortable and elegant! I'd be very happy to stay there again. The service was very good. The hotel itself is charming and old fashioned. Beds were comfortable with very high quality linens. The location is a little far (20-25 minute walk, 10-15 minute cab) from the main tourist attractions/monuments, but if you prefer a quiet setting and enjoy walking this place is for you! Florence is not a big city, but it's still congested and busy so I really enjoyed the serene setting at the Park Palace. As a bonus, they have easy parking too.

The property’s exterior is kind of run down, as was the furniture in my room. Yes it’s remote but so much so that there isn’t anything to do without driving or taking the bus, and few of us can handle the hills on a return walk from the center.

A beautiful looking hotel with a personal touch,located in a very attractive area just a 20 minute walk from Florence town centre. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast choice was very good and of a high standard. Very pleasant stay

The stay at Park Palace was great! (Three nights in total). The hotel and the area were very beautiful. Our room surprised us by it's neat details and products that were included, and especially by the amazing view we had from the room windows. Air conditioner worked properly, room was clean plus we had a minibar in the room. The hotel service and the staff were pleasant and spoke english well. I would definitely visit again.

I chose this hotel based on the great reviews. Maybe I missed something? Our rooms, though spacious, were dark and outdated. My son’s room had a terrible smell, almost unbearable. The vibe was definitely on the creepy side making us uncomfortable to be there. We checked in to use the pool mainly. It was surrounded by pine trees, shade and had cold water. You were swimming in pine needles and when you were lounging, the needles were falling on you. There were no pool towels available either. Unless you have a car, you are stuck in the middle of nowhere. Needless to say, we decided to check out after a couple of hours. The manager was notified, but never came to speak with us. A very expensive learning experience.

This is simply a wonderful place, a beautiful villa in a wonderful location above Florence, with beautiful grounds and a lovely swimming pool. If you don’t mind not being in the center of Florence, this is a great place to stay and find a respite from the hustle and bustle of the tourist scene. Great staff, wonderful breakfast included. We loved it!

The Palace Hotel is truly a palace in my book

What a lovely place to stay for my last night in Italy. I wish I would have stayed in the Park Palace for a week. I was greeted with smiles and welcome. My room was spacious, with lovely furniture. The bedding was the nicest during my three-week trip to Italy. I had an early flight the next moring, but was graciously offered breakfast from an amazing spread of food even though the dining room was not yet formally open. I look forward to returning some day. This is an incredible find.

We loved this hotel!!! It was our favorite from all the travels we have taken. Friendly, welcoming staff and exquisite furnishings/decor and great restaurant and quiet surroundings. It was a welcome and tranquil respite from the busy atmosphere of Florence, yet walkable to the city center. We will go back here time and time again.

After spending time in Venice and Rome, it was great to stay in a hotel not in the downtown area. We enjoyed walking around the area-Piazzale Michangelo was a nice evening walk. Staff were very helpful in letting us know how and where to take the busses. We enjoyed the location and the history of the hotel. It is a beautiful location and while it was well kept, it is showing its years and could use a bit more upkeep in the grounds. the breakfast offering was adequate and our evening meal on the terrace was better than average.

Nice hotel within reasonable distance to city

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel is really spacious and gives more of a resort vibe. We really enjoyed sitting outdoors for our meals overlooking a lovely garden. The most awesome part of the experience were the wonderful stuff who were very courteous, helpful and friendly. Air conditioning did not work. I was hot the whole time I was their. The menu for dinner was limited and did not offer a good variety. The breakfast was okay but the eggs were over cooked. You had to go to the ironing room they did not have iron and ironing board you could use in your room. The flat screen tv was a computer screen .

We LOVED this hotel! After 3 nights in a city center hotel in Rome this hotel was a little piece of paradise! Beautiful views, a lovely 20 min walk downhill with gorgeous villas and stunning views along the way. We had a room in the annex which was spacious and spotless. The pool was cool and a welcome spot in the heat. Breakfast was gorgeous! We couldn’t fault a thing and will definitely plan to return and let our friends know all about it!

The staff were so nice and helpful. We even got a great recommendation for where to go next because we wanted to send a few days at a beach and one of the employees told us about a great beach town we never would have gotten to experience. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The room was on a little bit of a busy road but with the windows closed you cannot hear a thing. It is a city so expect some noise. The dinner we had at the restaurant was one of the best we had in Italy and so was the wine. The breakfasts were great with everything you would want. We would stay here again

This hotel lives up to its name, set amongst leafy parks and a beautiful tree lined street. There are embassy's in this part of Florence so its very classy. An easy 30 min walking distance to town and with a lovely restaurant only stroll away. I loved staying in the olde world splendor and the pool is always an excellent option if you are staying 'in'.
The restaurant food is great, the staff were lovely and spoke English.
No complaints at all.

This hotel is in a lovely location half way up the winding road to San Miniato, south of the river. It would be a steady walk from the centre of the city but is served by Florence's buses, albeit a little sporadically.
That having been said, it is a beautiful spot and a delightful place to stay. The overall impression is one of slightly fading grandeur, but that just makes it more comfortable. Coming back after dinner out to a log fire in a delightful drawing room (in April) was a joy. The room was well appointed, the staff very charming and helpful, and the breakfast all we needed and wanted. We would not hesitate to return.

Beautiful Setting and Neighborhood

Gorgeous and peaceful with lovely walk overlooking snow covered mountains and Florence city below. The breakfast was delightful as we sat on the veranda listening the song birds. Deep bathtub and very comfortable bed. They accommodated our 1:30 am arrival, making city plans and taxi for the next day. Expansive lovely setting especially after our river cruise! Woul stay here again.

Excellent boutique hotel with all modern amenities

This is a beautiful property on the other side of the river about 20 minutes away from the Florence SMN Railway station. So, you are NOT in the heart of Florence, which may be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how much you prefer a quiet property.
The hotel has all modern amenities like a lift, 24-hour hot & cold running water, a swimming pool etc. The view from our room of the hills and the city was fantastic. The staff could speak good English. One person took us to our room and showed us around. He also gave us a map of the area and explained how to get to the city by bus and on foot.
The breakfast had an excellent buffet spread. We had dinners on two nights out of the three (8-11 October 2017) that we spent here. The duck, chicken, and the lamb chops that we tried were excellent. The charges were less than what we had to shell out at an ordinary trattoria near the Santa Maria Novella Church.
The bathroom was lavish, with two washbasins, a bath tub and an overhead and telephone shower built-in the bath tub. The quality of towels and toiletries was excellent.
Wi-fi was good. The room has a minibar but NO tea-coffee making facilities. But when we requested, the hotel was kind enough to spare an electric kettle for us. That was fantastic.
TV was small, 20 inches I think, and didn’t have HDMI. So, couldn’t use my Amazon Fire Stick. But it did have CNN, so we managed.
Overall, this was an excellent hotel where we would love to stay in again.

This hotel is situated in a lovely wooded area set about 1.5 miles from the centre of the city. Its quiet and sedate. Busses frequently stop in front of the hotel and its only ten minutes to get to the train station terminus, cost 2 euro. The food at the hotel is very good and no more expensive than eating out, we found the food at the hotel was better than most restaurants. We didn't use the pool but it looked inviting. Its easy to walk from the hotel into town in either direction if you wish, walking back would be harder as there is quite a hill. The rooms are a little dated but everything worked and were comfortable. One big minus is the lack of tea making facilities in the rooms, we took or own kettle, the staff were happy to supply milk and cups etc. Its very italian.

Really nice quiet hotel

Park Palace is located a short (but very steep) walk from the Ponte Vecchio. Its in an upmarket area of Florence and is surrounded by large private villas in a quiet part of the city overlooking the old town.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfasts were excellent. We usually eat out during the day but we had a couple of meals in the hotel and they were really very good.

In our favorite part of Florence

When we arrived we checked the bed linen which was not up to standard but was quickly changed by staff,bed was extremely uncomfortable we asked to change rooms but that seemed to just be ignored the next day. This Hotel could be fabulous as the domestic staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and the Hotel is in a peaceful delightful party of Florence, but the bed comfort and tired decor are more like a three star hotel.
The pool was good and that's the main reason we chose this Hotel as it was very hot in Florence when we were there.
Breakfast was nice with choices but it would be improved if for example the eggs were available hot and not cold.
We had one evening meal here but there are much better restaurants near by.
We would like to stay in the area again but not at this Hotel unless it improved

We stayed here in July to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The perfect hotel just outside the city (10 minute walk). Lovely hotel - our room was superb and the breakfast on the terrace each morning was perfect. There are 2 wonderful restaurants nearby if you do not want go into the city. The swimming pool was an added bonus. I would thoroughly recommend this to couples or families - great to stay just outside the town and you get to see the wonderful views for the top of the hill.

Park Palace is a beautiful hotel in a simply wonderful setting. Yes it appears old in parts and shows a few signs of wear and tear, but this adds to its charm. A real gem on the edge of Florence! The staff are wonderful and extremely helpful and welcoming. I would return in a heartbeat.

Beautiful traditional Italian hotel

We had the best time at our hotel. The breakfast was amazing and the woman who ran the breakfast buffet was so nice to us. It was probably the most beautiful breakfast buffet I've ever seen. Florence was having a heatwave and so we enjoyed the pool and went nearly every day. We also enjoyed the air conditioning in our room. I think it was the only consistently cool place in all of Florence!

Nice quiet hotel - good location

Just far enough away from the city to be tranquil - yet still only 25mins walk to the main parts of the city (very steep hill in parts). Great restaurant around the corner!

Pool area very nice and not overcrowded.

Parking extra and limited spaces, although we didn't have a problem getting a space.

Lovely hotel run by lovely staff we stayed for seven nights as you are about four miles from Florence centre you do have a bus stop directly outside the hotel or you can walk around 30 minutes as the footpath is shorter or like we did we hired a car at the airport and drove in you can find parking we went in early and around midday came back to the hotel swimming pool Gardens and air con
Food at the hotel was very good breakfast was a buffet dinner menu was good as was the food but same menu every night

Beautifully landscaped and peaceful

Loved our entire stay. City bus stops right outside for easy access to city proper but far enough out for peace and quiet. The entire facility, including our room, was beautifully decorated and the staff was lovely.

We had a very pleasant stay of 2 nights in the hotel. Nicely located in the hillsides South of the river but easy access by bus, or on foot. (Although climb back up the hill could be difficult)

Beautiful hotel in an idyllic location.

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking Florence. It is a truly stunning location offering tranquility, yet just a 20 minute walk into town. The room was spacious, well appointed and peaceful with all the usual amenities. Staff are very curtious and helpful. The terrace is sun drenched and overlooks a pretty garden and pool. It is the perfect location to recharge after the hustle and bustle of a days sightseeing in Florence.

Beautiful villa like hotel just a quick bus ride down to the centre of Florence. Excellent service with a wonderful breakfast, beautiful views from the rooms with a balcony. Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend especially if you have a car

Great place to stay if you have a car. Just close enough to the city center to walk but far enough away that you dont have to worry about limited traffic zones and expensive parking fees. Hotel charges €13 to park and its safe on their property. The walk to Ponte Vecchio is 20 minutes downhill. And to come back you can take the #12 Bus which drops you right in front of hotel. You can even buy the bus ticket at the hotel for €1.20. Very comfortable room and very clean. Breakfast is typical but one negative is the cappuccino is from a machine. But still taste ok.

Nice hotel at a walking distance to the centre

Very nice hotel, great staff, good breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Pleasant 20-min walk to downtown via charming streets and parks, our 9-year old daughter enjoyed it. Great view from the rooms to the surrounding hills and castles - try to get a higher floor to fully enjoy it. Comfortable lobby with a fireplace. We appreciated early check in and kindness of the staff allowing us to leave the car at the parking after the checkout, so that we could enjoy a few extra hours visiting Florence.

A gem of a hotel

Spent 3 night's there last week, and would highly recommend.
Staff were helpful and location for us was perfect, away from the bustle of the town but easy access by bus. The walk to the town is about 30 mins but back is up a very steep hill and a challenge. Bus stops outside hotel and at €1.20 a bargin.
Our airport transfer was via taxis €24.
The breakfast was typical continental so no fry up the evening meal was not very exciting so we spent the other two evenings at the La Terrazza Del Principe which is just 5mins towards the town. Wow great experience would rate this place very highly.
Enjoyed Pisa by train, €19 return, great day out and so clean.
Now just a warning about mosquitoes, we got eaten alive, so take some protection.
