A very convenient stay in a great location! Right around the corner from Santo Spirito and a less than 5 min walk from the Ponte Vecchio. The Oltarno district is the perfect location when staying on Florence!

I chose the property based on description of being on one floor, as I recently had back surgery. In fact, my room was up 3 very steep stairs.
I did not receive instructions for after hours check in until the day after arrival, despite messages coming through from property about Time of arrival. I was able to call and be let in once I arrived. The location was very good and the room and small terrace where delightful, however “breakfast” was coffee machine I could not figure out and some wrapped cookies.

The name is somewhat misleading. This is not a bed and breakfast but just a room. The room was small and clean. The bathroom is barely big enough to turn around in. Getting to the room is up very steep stairs in an unlit stairwell. However The location is outstanding. 2 blocks from Ponte Vecchio and some prime shopping. The best thing about the location is that it is merely feet from Gustapizza, which is the best pizza joint in Florence!!

The sisters at the front desk are very kind and welcoming. The suite was quiet and clean, however you can still hear your neighbours in the morning due to creaky doors.

Overall, I felt this was a very good stay and I would return.

Quiet interior courtyard room

Lovely and the absolute quietest place my husband said he had ever stayed! We had an interior courtyard room, so no street noise. Francesca was pleasant and helpful at each interaction - thank you! Our room had an \"exterior\" bathroom, which was a hall bathroom for our use only; it had a separate key to secure the bathroom door. Other than the noisy jangling of the old fashioned keys, it was fine. Perhaps we should have secured the keys separately or asked for a second set of keys, since there were two of us.Overall the room was perfect and we loved our three nights at B&Beatrice!

Wonderful! Great location; good breakfast with croissants, bread, and lots of different home-made jams; and everything was very clean. The proprietors were exceptionally nice, letting us in check in very late when we'd made a last-minute reservation an hour before. And they helpfully kept our bags on our last day, while we explored the city before heading out.

Not a practical choice

The room was decorated tastefully and located in a charming old building. However, I felt that the overall service needed some improvement considering the price. Two sisters do not spend a lot of time at the venue anymore for some reasons and they need to think of a better way to run this place including the check-in process, breakfast and etc. The stairs were indeed very steep and can be very dangerous even for people without any mobility issues.

Perfect stop over in Florence

Beatrice and Francesca made it easy for us, when we had been delayed in airport for the morning, and missed our check-in. The room is fresh, very clean and comfortable with working aircon that was much needed. A simple continental breakfast with good coffee starts you off in the mornings and the location means that you are close enough to all of the big sights so that you can walk, by far enough away that they are not a disturbance. Also close enough to some excellent restaurants with reasonable prices.
Beware those with heavy baggage though, the stairs are tough and there is only a lift to the second floor if you check in before 3:30, from the first floor - and there are still some steep stairs to get to reception with no lift.

Great location near shops and restaurants

We had a large triple room and there was plenty of space for the 3 of us. The hostesses were very helpful and gracious, and the breakfast room and breakfast was very nice. The location was very close to many restaurants and shops and near the Boboli Gardens, very convenient to many nearby sights. The only downside was the bathroom was bit small on counter space and there was only one mirror in the bathroom, none in any of the other rooms, so we had to take turns to use it getting ready in the mornings. Air condition worked great. Our hostesses were super nice. Very quaint older type of building, yes, there were stairs to take as some reviewers mentioned but it did not bother us at all.

Near the centre of Florence so very handy. Has kitchen area as well as a large bedroom (and en suite) so felt spacious.

Our nephew and his wife recommended this B & B to us and we couldn't have been more pleased. It was centrally located for our purposes and on a quiet street. The owners were wonderful.....very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely return if we return to Florence.

Nice hotel, close to everything.

We were well greeted, made to feel part of the family. We arrived a little earlier than the checking in time -- so we left our luggage with them. When we returned, one of the family member had brought our suitcases up the steep stairwell to our room. Spacious and very clean room. In the morning, we were welcomed into the eating area, with at least 6-8 homemade jams, croissants, bread, fruit, coffee, yogurts, cereals and milk. 'Mama' helped us with the coffee as there was various kinds, all in Italian, as well the operation of the machine. They called the taxi for us.... and hugs before we left. Can't get better than that. This is not the 4 Season's Hotel so if you want luxury, this is not the place for you. It does have everything you need.

Beware if you have a problem with stairs.

B&Beatrice is well situated over the river from the busy tourist area, but within walking distance of all the main sights.
Although located on a main road the hotel is quiet with generous sized rooms and a large comfortable bed. We asked for a room with a balcony at the back of the building, but were put in a room overlooking the main street. This didn't present problem but it does indicate a lack of attention to details. We were met by the sister of the B&B owner, who we never saw again. For our stay of 3 days we dealt with her mother, who, although a lovely lady, doesn't speak any english.
As expected in Italy, breakfast was basic. A croissant, nespresso coffee, homemade jams, cereal and some ageing fruit. At the time of writing a new breakfast room was being built.
The biggest drawback for older travellers or those with mobility problems will be the many steep and dark stairs. If you have problems with climbing stairs you may want to look elsewhere.

Perfect in every way. The location, the ambiance and the reception of the owners could not be faulted. We were lucky enough to be given the Apollo room which had a small balcony overlooking the inside of the building. Very quiet and romantic. Perfect. Mille grazie.

Good Location and Run by a Nice Family

The price was very reasonable and the location was very good for many of the sites in Florence. It is a family run business and they are very nice people. The room is a bit dated but clean and a good size. The only drawback is that there is no elevator and you have to walk a series of stairs to get to your room.

Great little B & B

The location of this B & B, quite near St. Peter's and the Vatican Museum, was exactly what I was looking for. Massimo, the owner, provided me with information about how to effectively and cheaply reach his location from any arrival location in Rome. He provided me with so many great tips about how to navigate the area and Italy in general. I enjoyed my stay at Capricci Romani very much and would recommend it to all.

This place is a find. Tucked away in Via Maggio but only 10 minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio, one street away from the Pitti Palace and just around the corner from Piazza Santo Sprito with some great bars and restaurants. All this within a short walk but it's quiet and civilised. The room was nicely decorated and breakfast was good. the room was up 2 flights of fairly steep stone stairs but we were helped with our luggage so it wasn't too much of a problem.

Beautiful room

We walked from Santa Maria Novella station to the hotel -- we found it a little bit hard to navigate, but once we got onto Via Maggio and figured out the Florence numbering system (which is different than American), it was easy enough. As others have mentioned, there is no elevator. Our room had high ceilings, a comfortable bed, was very clean, and was nicely decorated. We liked the privacy of such a small B&B. My husband didn't enjoy carrying around three separate keys for each door -- front door, B&B door, and room door, particularly because they are old-fashioned, heavy keys, but it's not the end of the world. We did not enjoy breakfast, and that's the main complaint I have. There were no staff members at breakfast, just a bunch of food sitting out and a coffee machine that I didn't know how to work. I figured it out, but was disappointed to not be having great coffee in Italy. The food spread was fine, but nothing stood out and it ended up being the worst of the 6 breakfast-providing hotels we stayed in over a 3 week trip. To be fair, we only went one morning because we had food arrangements starting relatively early one of the other days, and just decided to skip it the last day. It's nicely located near the Uffizi, the Ponte Veccio, and a number of other sites. It might be just a few blocks further away than we would have preferred, but certainly not a bad location, especially for the price. We barely saw the hotel owners, but they were friendly when we did see them.

Lovely B&B in Florence

We stayed for a couple of nights in this lovely B&B with San Spirito Square just round the corner. We stayed in the Demetra Room and for once the photo's we saw on various websites did not do it justice. Lovely large room with tall ceiling's and spacious en-suite bathroom. Most importantly the room was clean and included a little fridge to store water and soft drinks which was welcomed with the hot weather.
Thanks to Francesca and her Mother we had a wonderful stay here and if we are lucky to return to Florence we will without doubt stay here again.

Overall it is a great B&B in a fantastic location. All I would say is the accommodation is basic & the beds were quite hard. If you have any difficulty climbing stairs then you would struggle with this B&B - very steep stairs up to the floors. The breakfast was lovely but it was the same thing every day, it would have been nice if it was different things each day.

Great weekend stay

We had a lovely stay at the B & Beatrice during a weekend break to Florence. Our room (with a very nice external private bathroom) was large, comfortable and quiet and we slept really well during our stay. Breakfast was really nice and Francesca greeted us warmly on arrival and was very courteous during our stay. The hotel was in a great location - easy walking distance to all the main attractions without being in a busy, noisy location. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

Lovely B&b, lovely family

B & Beatrice was in the perfect location, away from the crowds but within minutes of the Ponte Vecchio. While the stairs may be daunting for those with incapacities, the women at Beatrice are the ONLY people to EVER have helped me carry the luggage both up, and down the stairs. And Nonna was so gracious, I felt welcome and at home. I would definitely reccommend B & Beatrice.

B and B Beatrice is a great Family run business. The staff are Really friendly and welcoming, and are easy to contact. Room and bathroom facilities are good and clean. Breakfast is good. Selection of croissants, bread, Yoghurts and home made jam! The location is good. On the opposite of the river in oltrano ( slightly quieter side of florence and more traditional) Right next to gusta pizza( amazing pizza) and San spirito square which is a good place for drinks at night. Also 5 mins walk to the palace, bobili gardens and the opposite side of the river.

This hotel is situated in a location that is ideal for walking to and from the sites in the center area. It is also nicely situated in a quieter residential section and see some of the non-tourist side of Florence. It was also very nice to talk to B's parents and share some of their experience in visiting our country.

This B&B is an apartment within a traditional family home (there are three B&B rooms in that apartment). It is located on the third floor and there are two sets of steep stairs to climb, no elevator. People hauling large pieces of luggage be warned. The room was clean, large with high ceilings and a big window to a courtyard. We got the room with the external bathroom, which was spacious and clean. That was kind of an odd setup but we didn't mind that much, except we had to unlock and lock the bathroom with a big key every time we used it. Beatrice, her sister Francesca and their mother were very helpful and extremely nice. Breakfast is served in a small cozy room downstairs, Wi-Fi is available in the room, there is a flat screen TV with a good assortment of channels. There are different dining choices in the area and a laundry place (wash and dry) a few blocks from there (Via dei Serragli, 75). The B&B is a bit far from the train station, we only had carry-ons so we walked there, consider taking a taxi if you have several pieces of luggage. Otherwise the location is perfect, within walking distance to all the historic places.

Individual b & b away from tourist trail

Run by very helpful and friendly family. Had a spacious room with ensuite. Good location in a quiet area with popular restaurant and cafes nearby and only short walk to ponte vecchio. Lot of steps up to room so need to be fairly fit. Wifi reception in our room wasn't very good so did have to go into the corridor to use but our friends in other room had no problem.

Nice location in Oltrano area

We enjoyed our stay very much. Wifi was a little unreliable, but we found that true throughout Italy. The breakfast was nice - typical Italian style: coffee, cereals, breads & breakfast cakes, yogurt & fresh fruits. Occasionally meats & cheeses. We enjoyed our daily morning greeting from Nona at breakfast. The bathrooms/water smelled awful - so we had the windows open as much as possible. But otherwise the furnishings were nice. You need to know there are a lot of stairs! The rooms are on the 2nd floor - which in Italy really means 3 flights of stairs. They are steep and small, but this is very typical in Italy as well.

Perfect for the amount of time in the room.

The Beatrice was great. Close to a lot of attractions at a fraction of the cost. The room was nice but the private bath we got was outside the room. It was right next door but that meant you had to unlock your room door to unlock the bathroom door and then go in. Despite this minor inconvenience it was great place to stay and just so others know our room was the only one that had the bathroom outside the room. All the others were in the room. Went with the other because it was a bit cheaper and we were on a budget. The location is close to everything and yet enough off the beaten path that it was quite. The breakfast was a type of Italian continental breakfast and it was very good. All you need so you can go enjoy the food elsewhere. Beatrice and her sister are very nice and welcoming. Great place would stay there again.
